~Resting Place~
About a week had passed since the last day of school. Most children took this time off to enjoy the summer weather by going to the local pool, going for bike rides, playing sports, and other various warm weather activities. Today, however, was a day no one would be enjoying. It was the day of Adonis Blossom's Funeral.
Atticus and his wife were convinced that their son's seemingly accidental death was anything but, and all they wanted was for the rest of their children to be under the same roof so that they could be sure of their safety. However, This goal proved to be somewhat of pipe-dream when it came to their youngest two.
Atticus's youngest son had found a new girl to swoon over, Daphne Greengrass. Shortly after the Blossom's identities had been disclosed, she started taking to liking Alden. They had remained pretty much inseparable ever since.
As for Alyona, Atticus was thankful for the Malfoy's involvement in her life. Sure, they didn't have the most popular views on certain things. But, if there was one thing they could absolutely provide his daughter, it was protection.

Despite the gloomy occasion, it was a relatively beautiful day. The blue summer sky was vibrant and bright mid-day sun shined down upon the enormous Malfoy family estate.
The tall, perfectly trimmed hedge that made up the boarder of the property surrounded the lush, green lawns and blooming flowers scattered throughout the grounds. The beautiful albino peacocks that the Malfoy's had imported centuries ago wondered aimlessly around the property.
Lucius's white-blonde hair had been gelled back with not a strand out of place, a style his son also regularly sported. Both of the Malfoy's stood quietly in the large, dedicated fitting room as they were tended to.
Lucius looked over at his son who had a look of sadness displayed over his face.
"Today is not the day to look so sorrowful, Draco," He calmly yet sternly spoke.
Draco nodded as his father continued to advise him.
"Alyona needs you to be strong for her. This is a very difficult time for her and her family. It's your job to be her strength and guidance, just like always. You mustn't falter, Understand?" Lucius instructed.
Draco nodded as he swallowed thickly, "I know father. It's just…I can't help but think that….maybe we shouldn't have pressured her to come out of hiding. Her brother might still be alive right now."
Lucius scoffed, "Yes well, the Blossoms have a much higher social standing that is far more beneficial for our image than if they continued to live under their facade."
"You're right, father," Draco complied hesitantly.
"I'd look at this as a blessing, son. You get the girl you love and desire, and she's a pure-blooded legacy. I'd hate to have to arrange you with someone you couldn't stand to be around," Lucius added, clearly referring to the last family the Malfoy's would ever want their son to marry into.
Arranged marriages were common practice in the elite society and most of the time these arrangements produced couples that couldn't care less about the other even couples that absolutely hated each other. Producing more pure-blooded heirs was the only thing those couples did together, let alone actually love or spend time with each other.
"Your mother and I, while we were arranged, thankfully ended up truly enjoying each other's company. We love each other deeply and I want the same for you and Alyona.
The younger Malfoy appreciated his fathers words. It was nice to know that he at least cared a little bit about his happiness.
Lucius then circled back to the second statement his son had made. He didn't want his son feeling like he played a part in this tragedy. In this rare occurrence, Lucius actually showed his son some empathy.
"Also, I don't want either of you two to think you had any part in Adonis' death, this was the doing of someone pitiful, most likely someone jealous," Lucius informed Draco.
Draco knew exactly what his father was insinuating. There was only one family that came to mind as being particularly jealous of the Blossoms.
Draco's eyes widened, "Father, you…you don't think the Parkinsons would go this far out of spite? Do you?"
Lucius maintained his serious look, "While I can't be certain, It is the only thing that makes sense. Complete nutters, all of them. However, Rest assured that if they did this, I will find out and they'll have to answer for their actions. Weather that be through the legal system, or by my own means…"
After the fitting was completed by the elves, the two men turned away from the mirrors.
Lucius put a hand on his son's shoulder, "Not a word of this conversation to Alyona, she's distraught enough as it is. You are to be her shoulder to cry on and her source of comfort, is that understood?"
"Yes, father," Draco said.

Across the house, The finishing touches were being put on Narcissa's outfit.
An elegant, floor length gown made from the finest black velvet. The gown had long and slim sleeves with subtle shoulder-pads to give her more of a regal appearance.
Along the trim of the scoop neckline was black lace as well as around the trim of the sleeves. The dress was cinched with a black leather belt that gave the whole look more shape and structure.
Her long, platinum hair was pushed to one side and tucked behind her ear, long and loose blonde curls cascaded down her left shoulder in an elegant finish.
Narcissa used a series of beauty charms to emphasize her striking features. A shadow of smoky pigment along her lids to enhance her dazzling grey eyes, a slight eyebrow fill, a touch of blush, and mauve tinted lips to finish off the look.
Just then, a knock on the door echoed through the large vanity room.
"Come in," she called out as she turned to look at the entrance to the large room.
The door pushed open as Lucius stepped through the threshold.
"Are you almost ready, Darling? We shan't be late, especially not on this occasion," Lucius insisted with gentle urgency.
"I am," Narcissa said as she rose from her vanity stool to face her husband.
Lucius noticed the saddened, almost uncomfortable look on his wife's face. She had almost looked as if she was in pain. It was evident that this day and it's upcoming event was weighing on her.
"Please don't look so sad, Love," Lucius pleaded, "You know I think you're beautiful when you're upset, but I do truly hate to see you like this."
Narcissa took a deep breath, followed by a small sigh.
"I...I was the first person Anastasia came to when she found out that she was pregnant with Adonis. We were both so young, and frightened. Her more so than me, but still," Narcissa spoke softly," It seems like it was only yesterday that I was consoling her through her tears as she held her flat stomach in her hands, the flat stomach that was growing her first child, and…the fact that I'm attending that very same child's funeral today…is just—"
Lucius gently dabbed away a falling tear that was making its was down Narcissa's cheek as he looked at her with great sympathy.
"Shhh, there there, Darling. It's going to be alright. All we can do is be there for our friends in they're time of need and help them to heal," Lucius delicately put.
Just outside of the door to their sleeping chamber, Draco had been listening in on the conversation between his parents.
While he was taking mental notes on how to comfort Alyona when they would see each other again, he was also learning about how close his mother and Alyona's mother really were.
While the Malfoy's were acquainted with a great number of witches and wizards of elite social status, Draco had never known of his mother crying for anyone other than her husband.
Of course, Lucius never intentionally gave his beloved wife a reason to shed any tears, but due to his past affiliations, there were many nights were Narcissa would find herself alone, out of sight from her infant son, crying and begging the heavens for her husband to return home safely from his malicious and dangerous tasks as a death eater.
Thankfully, weather someone had indeed been listening to her prayers or not, her deepest desire of Lucius' safety was always fulfilled.
"Let's head off to support our friends, shall we?" Lucius asked kindly and he lovingly held his wife's face in his hand.
Narcissa nodded while she stared into her husband's smoldering grey eyes.
The next thing Draco heard as he continued to eavesdrop around the corner of the bedroom was the sound of father's dress shoes and his mother's stilettos as they began to make there way out from the room.
Draco did his best to pretend as if he had just been passing by the doorway when his parents walked out of Narcissa's vanity room and exited the master bedroom.
"You look so handsome, Draco. Are you ready?" Narcissa asked.
Draco nodded confidently, "I am."
And with that, the Malfoy's made there way through the halls and down the black marble staircase that lead to the front door.
Their house-elf quickly opened the grand doors to the manor as the family gracefully made their way to the abraxan drawn carriage on the other side of the massive gates.
The house-elf watched as they quickly boarded the carriage and made sure they were settled before hopping onto the drivers seat and carrying the Malfoy's away to Saint Nicholas Chapel on the coast of St. Ives, the chosen shoreline to serve as the final resting place for Adonis Blossom.

At the Blossom estate, the air was filled with sorrow and dread as the Blossom family dressed and prepped themselves for the funeral.
Alyona Blossom sat quietly in her frilly, pink bedroom at the foot of her bed, sulking as she slid a black velvet headband on top of her head.
This past week home from school had gone by agonizingly slow for the whole family, but especially for Alyona. She didn't care to partake in the usual family activities, all of which her parents had hoped would distract their children from the grim reality they were faced with.
During family meals, the Blossoms would gather at their lavish dining room table, like always. Alyona however, wasn't interested on sitting with the family, only to be stared down at the empty seat that once supported the weight of her deceased brother. She would come to the table once her mother had finished cooking their meals and swiftly take the plate back to her room to eat in solitude while the rest of the Blossoms ate at the table in silence.
The family did also typically play board games together after meals, and other times would gather in front of the living room television, pop in a video game and race each other using wacky cartoon characters in go-karts. None of this however, Alyona found amusing or worth her time.
She would spend all of her time in her room, sleeping, watching TV, or stroking her long blonde hair with her oval hairbrush.
As the TV in her room displayed popular cartoons and other programs, the young girl would run the luxurious black brush along her roots as the reddish-orange cushion and it's many bristles massaged her scalp and polished the lengths of her tresses.
Alyona just couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that plagued her mind, relentlessly.
On the morning of her brothers funeral, Alyona had yet to speak a single word to anyone. She feared that if she tried to utter even the simplest of words, she may bring herself to tears.
She was fully dressed in her delicate, long sleeve, black dress and black ballet flats when her mother knocked on the door before slowly opening it.
"Are you ready, Dear? The rest of us are all set," Anastasia asked gently.
All Alyona could do was nod as she slid off her bed and let her feet carry her out of her bedroom door and down the hallway.
As the two Blossom girls made it down the spiral staircase to meet the others, they were met with the grieving faces of Atticus and the three Blossom sons.
"You look lovely, sweetheart," Atticus complimented, "we best all get going, I want to be there to greet the guests as they show up."
And with that, the Blossoms headed out of the front door and off to their destination, by road, of course. Atticus still hadn't wanted to take any risks when it came to flying the car. He preferred to transport his wife and children in the safest way possible.
~ooOOOoo~
The funeral location was beautiful. Saint Nicholas Chapel was a small stone building on top of a grassy, rocky hill in St. Ives in the southwest of England. The charming little chapel stood alone as it showcased a stunning view of the vast and deeply hued Celtic sea.
Atticus was certain that he and the rest of the Blossoms would have a good half an hour to rest and take in the views before anyone would show up.
However, the Malfoy's had arrived fashionably early to the site and made their way over to the Blossom family.
"Hello Lucius," Atticus greeted, "Thank you all for coming."
"Hello, Atticus," mister Malfoy responded with a no, "I wish we were meeting on better terms. How have you been in this time of grieving?"
"As good as I can be, I suppose." he said while trying to remain composed in front of his guests.
Draco moved from behind his father eagerly to find Alyona. Thankfully got him, she wasn't too far away.
The young girl was near the stone building, reading the plaques and taking in the views from the center of the hill.
"Can I go talk to Alyona?" Draco asked with enthusiasm. It had only been a week since the two had parted ways, but Draco had not taken their time apart well.
"Of course, son," Lucius smiled.
Draco ran over to her as quick as he could, Alyona turned around to see her platinum blonde prince striding toward her. She smiled as she was taken into Malfoy's tight embrace.
"Hey, it's good to see you again!" Draco cheered as he spun the blonde witch around in his arms before setting her back down onto her tiny feet.
He took in her appearance with admiring eyes. He admired the way her golden skin looked against the inky black fabric of her dress, her silky, perfectly coiffed hair trailing loosely over her shoulders, and the way that her face still showcased its full beauty, even though she was in a state of deep mourning.
"You look beautiful, Darling," Malfoy cooed.
Alyona cracked a modest smile. "Oh, thanks. You look handsome, as well.
"How have you been doing?" He asked.
"I've been doing okay," Alyona said modestly. She didn't want to worry Draco, as she knew that if he found out about her sudden and drastic change of mood over the last week, he'd most definitely be overly worried.
She also knew that if it wasn't for Draco watching over her at school when she first found out about her brother's death, who knows what she would have done considering how guilty she felt.
Just then another ornate carriage came down from the sky and landed near the flatter part of the scenic area. From it, stepped a tan, regal woman with bright blonde hair piled on top of her head in an elegant fashion, and striking forest green eyes. She was dressed in a black floor length gown with intricate stitched detailing and a matching parasol to protect her from the sun's rays.
Behind her was a tall, dark skinned man, dressed in a luxe looking black suit. His jet black hair was combed to perfection and his piercing blue eyes shined brilliantly as both he and his companion made their way to the rest of the group.
Atticus walked over to the pair with a smile as he took turns hugging them both.
"Hello mother, Father. Thanks for being here," Atticus said.
The woman nodded politely, "Of course, Dear. We wouldn't miss this for the world. I'm so terribly sorry about Adonis."
Atticus turned to the rest of the Malfoys and began to introduce the two newest guests.
"Lucius, Narcissa, these are my parents, Aleksei and Ericka Blossom."
Narcissa was the first to reach out for a handshake, "It's nice to meet you both."
Narcissa... Both of Atticus' parents recalled their son mentioning that name back in his school days, but had never had a face to put with it.
"Oh my, you're stunning," Ericka said with shock in her tone. She greatly admired Narcissa's gorgeous face and hour glass figure.
"Oh, thank you. You're too kind. It's nice to meet you both," Narcissa replied kindly, "Also, I wanted to thank you for inviting us, Atticus. We brought a gift as well."
Narcissa handed over a discreet black envelope to Atticus.
"Thank you, very much. I didn't really expect any gifts though," Atticus admitted.
"It's the least we could do, hopefully it will help you and your family to recover from this hard time." Narcissa insisted softly.
"Hi, Grandma, Hi, Grandpa." Alden greeted as he walked up to the group. He was holding hands with his guest of choice.
"Hey there, sport. Oh, who's your friend, there?" Aleksei asked his grandson.
"Oh right, everyone, this is Daphne Greengrass. We go to school together," Alden said proudly.
By this time, Draco and Alyona had made their way back to the rest of the group, hand in hand. The two Slytherins nodded as they acknowledged their classmate.
Hi, Daphne," Alyona said politely, to which she was disregarded.
"I'm so sorry for your family's loss, I know it must be difficult for you all right now," Daphne said with sadness in her voice.
"Thank you." Atticus replied kindly.
While this conversation was happening, Narcissa took the moment to admire Alyona's beauty.
To Narcissa, the Blossom's daughter served as a visual representation of the child that she and Atticus could have produced together.
Atticus then turned to Alyona, sadness filling his deep green irises. "I wanted to ask you...Would you like to see your brother before he is sent away, dear?"
Slight fear washed over her as she looked over to the casket that sat a few meters away. "Honestly…I'm not sure I can handle seeing him...this way. I miss him, but it-it might be too much for me to handle."
Draco stepped up to gently reclaim her hand within his own. "It might be best to see him one last time. It'll give you a sense of closure."
Alyona was unsure for a moment. She was positive that immediate tears would emerge from her eyes after seeing her brother's lifeless in the casket.
"It'll be okay, Darling. I'll go with you, okay?" Draco coaxed as they began to slowly walk over.
Each step they took put more and more fear into Alyona's heart. She had never been to a funeral or seen a dead body before. Her mind was racing by the time they made it to the closed casket.
"Ready?" Atticus asked.
Alyona nodded as Draco firmed his grip on her tiny hand to remind her that he was there for her. With one slow motion, Atticus lifted the wooden casket.
As if on cue, Alyona immediately began to produce an ocean's worth of tears.
"That's...really him?" she asked quietly, hoping that this was some sort of cruel joke and that her brother was still alive.
Atticus reluctantly nodded, "It's him."
The embalmer had done an amazing job of making him look alive and well. However, looking down at her brother, while he was in his peaceful eternal slumber was completely overwhelming for the young witch.
Alyona buried herself in Draco's chest as she struggled to contain her soft whimpers of sorrow. Draco embraced her tightly as he lovingly rubbed her back in an attempt to console her.
"I know, Princess, I know. It's going to be okay, I promise," Draco soothed as she continued to seek comfort in his arms.
Draco guided her back to his parents as he didn't want her to be in anymore distress at the sight of her deceased brother.
Atticus looked down at his son, a tear trying to form its way out of his eye. "She really misses you, kiddo, we all do."
~ooOOOoo~
All of the attendees were present to honor Adonis' life, except for Anastasia's parents.
Despite this, Anastasia didn't want Atticus to keep their present guests waiting any longer and figured her parents would understand. Everyone was gathered on to the large boat and around the closed cherrywood casket as Atticus started to speak.
"Thank you all for coming today. It makes me happy knowing that all of you wanted to be here for my family during this time, it truly means more than you could ever imagine. My son was many things. He was kind, loyal, understanding, open minded, hard working, but most of all, he was a loving brother to his siblings. Adonis loved us with all of his heart…"
Atticus continued to do his best to power through his tears.
"He was taken too soon, but I think it's best that instead of focus on having lost him, we look back at all of the good that he did while he was alive. Adonis would want that."
Atticus began to list off his sons greatest moments and accomplishments during his life. Everyone listened closely as he recalled the past.
Alexander then stepped up to the podium to speak. "Thank you father, for those loving words."
The now eldest Blossom son began recounting his own happy memories with his brother. Cheerful birthdays and happy vacations that the family had taken together.
Alexander was in the middle of reminiscing on one of these memories when a quick burst of light shined from seemingly out of nowhere and struck him on the side of the head.
Alexander toppled over and fell into the water below. Atticus jumped into the ocean to save his son as his wife looked around for the source of the magic.
She soon spotted a figure, dressed in a black cloak standing on the shoreline, wand in hand. The figure casted another spell, this time at Anastasia. She withdrew her own wand and successfully blocked it from striking her.
Draco's instincts kicked in as he swiftly picked up his girlfriend and carried her over to a safe distance on the other side of the large boat.
Everyone was shocked and confused at what had just happened. Atticus made sure his son was brought back in the boat with the help of his father before making his way over to the Malfoys.
"Take my daughter back to your manor. It's not safe for her to be around us right now. Keep her safe, please," Atticus stressed.
"I was thinking the same thing. Don't worry, Your daughter is safe with us," Lucius said.
Mister Malfoy waved over to their house elf, who was still standing near the carriage, awaiting his master's commands.
"Wheezy! Bring the carriage back to the manor!" Lucius yelled as he took hold of Alyona's hand.
"Picture the manor in your head, Alyona. We can't risk you getting splinched." Lucius demanded.
Narcissa quickly grabbed Draco's hand and with an instant, the Malfoy's and the Blossom's daughter had apparated out of sight.
Atticus watched as the they disappeared into thin air, hoping that they would stay true to their word and keep his daughter away from harm.
