~Golden Flowers and Gigantic Beasts~

In the following days after the chaotic funeral, life was rather quiet at the manor. Under Lucius' suggestion, Atticus sent over his daughter's clothing and other important items from her room to the Malfoy residence.

Narcissa instructed their new house elf, Wheezy, to organize Alyona's clothes into the massive closet that was only filled up about a quarter of the way with Draco's clothing, and Draco had a lot of clothing.

As fun as it would have been, the two families decided that attending the year end party probably wouldn't be the safest idea, considering the ruthless attack that the Blossoms had been faced with while trying to say their goodbyes to their son.

Alyona ended up surprising Draco one day by wearing the poofy pink dress that he longed to see her in. Narcissa had walked into the two children dancing under the beautiful gothic chandelier in the Malfoy ballroom.

"Where did you learn to dance like this?" Alyona inquired while Draco led her through the motions. He donned his best suit as well for this special occasion as the two blondes glided across the black marble flooring.

Narcissa couldn't help but grin at this sight. She watched for a moment, reminiscing on the first time her and Lucius shared a dance together.

One day during breakfast, Alyona sat at the Malfoy's ebony wood dining table, waiting for the familiar face that would serve them their meal. However, she was met with a very different face as their breakfast dishes came floating out from the kitchen.

An unfamiliar house elf guided the plates of food to the table as Alyona looked at him with confusion. The Malfoy's seemed almost annoyed at the sight of the little elf as it served them their meal. Once the elf left the room, Alyona was finally able to ask her burning question.

"Where's Dobby? Is he still around?" The girl asked.

The three Malfoy's stayed silent as Draco looked to his father in anticipation of answer.

Lucius cleared his through as cut through a piece of breakfast sausage, "The next time you run into that Potter boy, you should ask him."

Alyona could feel the hatred within Lucius' voice as he uttered his statement. Narcissa and Draco kept quiet in an awkward silence as they continued to eat their breakfast.

Once the unease and surprise of the recent attack had worn off, the Malfoy's went about their usual business, weather that be within their home or out in public.

Lucius continued to give fourth his input regarding ministry affairs. The Malfoys frequently made sizable donations to various departments within the ministry of magic in order to sway the opinions of the people that held great power and positions with the departments.

Lucius was always sure to make Cornelius Fudge, the minister for magic, very aware of his contributions to put his family in a positive light in the view of the ministry.

His latest donation was made with that hopes of hiring extra protection for Alyona in the form of ministry aurors. While Cornelius was hesitant, he made Lucius a promise to see what he could do.

Narcissa spent her days tending to her appearance. She used thousands of galleons worth of lotions, creams, hair serums and massaging tools daily to assure the retention of her youth and beauty. Lucius thought she was silly for this, but she waved him off and continued her practices.

Narcissa was known throughout the wizarding world for her beauty. She was exceptionally gorgeous at her age, and she used this to her advantage when it came to anything from pouting and batting her eyelashes at her husband to buy her the things she wanted or persuading ministry officials when Lucius was unable to work his charm on them.

She also enjoyed dressing up Alyona and playing with different hairstyles on the young girl. Narcissa had always wanted a daughter, but the carrying and birthing of her only son had been so difficult on her body that she feared what could happen to her if she attempted to go through another pregnancy.

The Malfoy family historically only ever gave birth to sons, anyway. To go through such an intense pregnancy to most likely not even have a girl was too great of a risk for Narcissa to take.

Draco, of course, spent his time doting on his girlfriend. His affection, to most people, would most likely be seen as overbearing. However, Alyona couldn't get enough of it.

While Alyona was forbidden to leave the property for her own safety, Draco did his best to keep her entertained. He would show her around the many rooms and secret passage ways around the manor. She was astonished at the seemingly never ending amount of secrets that the large estate possessed.

Draco and Alyona would frequent the manor's grand library. He enjoyed reading to her about the great conquests and triumphs that his ancestors accomplished, and she loved seeing how proud Draco was of his family heritage.

Draco had even taken his beloved to a large room where all of the past Malfoy family portraits were displayed on the wall. Each massive portrait had a silver gilded frame that only enhanced the beauty of the paintings themselves.

All of the Malfoy men had the same traits in common. They were remarkably brilliant, extremely cunning, exceptionally persuasive, devilishly handsome, exceedingly wealthy, and undeniably powerful. However, now that she was seeing their likenesses immortalized with their wives and sons, she noticed a very distinct trend.

While it didn't come as a surprise that every Malfoy man had the same pale skin, strong grey eyes, and frosty blonde hair, Alyona was surprised at the women in the portraits.

They were all drop-dead gorgeous — Pretty faced, tiny waisted, large chested and hyper-feminine. In addition, they had the exact same light blue eyes and pale blonde hair as one another, the shades of which being ever so slightly more saturated than the men in the portraits.

When the stories of his family's legacy ran out however, Draco decided to search for any written work about the Blossoms.

The Malfoy library was massive and absolutely filled to the brim with almost every piece of important and prominent work of literature that wizard kind had ever produced. Novels, book series, poems, dictionaries, biographies, scriptures, ancient texts, and more.

There were many books on the Blossoms and the impact they had on society. Draco was stunned at how many businesses began under the Blossom's leadership.

The Blossoms had a hand in establishing one of the first banks in Diagon Alley, centuries before Gringotts had been built.

Multiple fashion houses and designer had some sort of Blossom influence when it came to their clothing design and marketing.

Pink was the "it" color of the period by far as witches and wizards from everywhere dropped hundreds to thousands of galleons at a time, just to be the first ones to get their hands on something pink that was designed by a fashion label that collaborated with the Blossoms.

The Malfoys and the Blossoms had worked side by side within the ministry to further improve the conditions of the wizarding world as well.

"See? Our families used to be really close," Draco chirped as he looked up from the page of his book.

"My dad actually said that our ancestors tried to sway the ministry to install new laws that would favor only pure-bloods though," Alyona stated.

Draco smirked at this statement, "It seems our ancestors were on the right side of history then."

Alyona ignored his snide remark and kept on listening to Draco read about her family's past.

The two quickly began to notice that there was hardly any information about where the Blossoms came from, or what their origins were.

Draco's ancestor, Armand Malfoy, came to England in the tenth century with William the Conquerer. After being provided with a piece of land, Armand constructed what was now Malfoy manor, where the next eight generations of Malfoys lived to carry on their legacy.

But, when it came to the Blossoms, there seemed to be no origin story for them.

One early morning, after becoming rather discouraged after looking for what seemed like hours for even the smallest remnant of information on her family's beginnings, the two of them decided to take a break from the spacious confines of the library and get some fresh air.

It was another beautiful sunrise, with not a single cloud in the sky so far. Draco had suggested that he show Alyona large greenhouse that stood behind the manor.

Draco was dressed in a simple black t-shirt, black trousers and fashionable sneakers. He had been wearing the same black belt that he received as a Christmas gift from Alyona, nearly everyday, as well as the shoes that he received on his birthday. Thankfully, Draco hadn't yet realized the fact that the items were by a muggle designer.

"You ready to head out, Love? He asked towards her direction.

Just then she walked out from the large bathroom over to Draco.

Alyona wore one of the many beautiful dresses that the Malfoy's had spoiled her with. It was a fit and flare style, dark midnight blue, lace dress that went to her knees. The short cap sleeves gave it a casual feel. She also sported black tights and a pair of modest high heels that Narcissa loved putting her in.

This was the first time other than the funeral where Alyona was wearing a complete outfit without even the slightest bit of pink. No pink hair ribbon, no pink bracelet or earrings, nothing of the sort.

"You know, I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing you all dolled up like this." He mused as he stood up from the bed and kissed her forhead, gently. Draco was beginning to grow noticeably taller than Alyona in recent months. He even looked down at her while she stood in her three inch heeled shoes.

Alyona twirled a lock of her smoothed out tresses with her fingers as she reveled in Draco's compliment.

Alyona giggled in delight at his act of affection. She loved the feeling of being kept and cared for by a Malfoy, the feeling of being looked after with such care as if she was a delicate flower.

The two of them began their journey around to the back of the manor. They followed the cobblestone footpath as it snaked around the lawn on the way to their destination. On either side of the path grew tall and thorny bushes with champagne roses growing from them.

The fresh morning dew drops on each petal glistened in the morning light. The rising sun was just starting to peak its way over the tall hedge on the east side of the property, painting the sky like a vibrant watercolor piece of artwork.

As the two came to the entrance to the massive greenhouse, they were greeted by two white stone statues of Snakes on either side of the doors.

Draco pulled open on of the decorative glass doors and held it for his darling to walk through. Once inside, Alyona's mouth fell open at the sight before her.

It was as if Draco had apperated them directly to the Amazon jungle. The air was misty and humid. They were surrounded by thick, green shrubbery and tall, exotic looking plants that Alyona had never before.

The whole garden was encased in pristine clear glass that was shaped into a giant dome. The center of the ceiling came to a point with a massive chandelier wrapped in vines that hung from it.

Draco took her hand and guided her down one of the many paths that disappeared into the miniature forest.

They passed by a bushel of Dirigible plums. They were large, orange floating fruits that almost resembled balloons. The fruits were tethered to the ground by thin green vines that emerged from the tree-like plant that they grew from.

Father along the path, they started to hear monstrous roars in the mist. As they walked, they watched the Malfoy's new house-elf struggle along by with a large, damp burlap sack. From the sacks he pulled out large cuts of raw meat in order to feed the massive, carnivorous Venus fly traps.

Wheezy used his magic to levitate the slabs of meat high into the air as the aggressive, large mouthed plants fought each other to be the first to be fed.

"Don't get too close," Draco warned, "The fly traps won't distinguish between you and a piece of meat. Some people that my father had over once had to find that out the hard way."

"What…what happened? Were they really eaten?" Alyona gasped.

"Don't cross a Malfoy, I suppose," Draco chuckled as he kept leading them away from the ferocious plants.

By this point, the humidity had completely undone Alyona's polished hairstyle and her natural curls had come back after being hidden away for a short while. Draco said nothing however, as he hadn't wanted to hurt her feelings.

After some time, they came to a section where Draco showed her some flowers that resembled large white roses. "Oh wow, these are lovely," Alyona complimented.

Draco then gently placed Alyona's finger on the tip of one of the petals. Almost instantly, a vibrant fuchsia hue washed over the entire flower. The young girl looked amazed at the sudden transformation.

Draco then did the same to the nearest flower to her's. His immediately turned the same bright color as the flower his girlfriend was touching. Alyona looked astonished, and was also at a loss for words.

"The petals reflect your emotions," Draco informed her.

"What does this color represent?" Alyona asked curiously while keeping her eyes locked onto the flower with amazement.

Draco smiled, "Love."

Alyona blushed as she reached out for Draco's hand. The young couple continued to navigate through the misty haze as they came to another plant that caught their eye through the light fog.

They noticed a golden shimmer coming from a few meters away and decided to check it out.

They came across collection of flowers that resided in a small pond, calmly floating on top of the water. The flowers resembled water lilies, only these were a glowing golden color that shined as bright as the hundreds of millions of galleons that sat in the Malfoy vaults at Gringotts.

The striking color was almost blinding, but once their eyes adjusted, they began to have a closer look.

"These are what I was most excited to show you," Draco said and he plucked one of the delicate flowers closest to the edge and offered it to Alyona. She admired its divine beauty.

"This flower reminds of you," Malfoy told her.

"How so?" Alyona inquired.

Draco placed his hands underneath Alyona's as she continued to cradle the delicate flower in her tiny palms

"Alyona Aurelia Blossom, You're name, it translates to: Light Golden Flower," Draco cooed as he looked into her doe-like eyes.

Even with the flower being plucked from the water, it still radiated the warm glow as the young girl held it in her hands.

Alyona blushed brightly. She was so touched by his words. They shared a a warm embrace before a sudden voice startled them. "Good morning, you two. You're up and about rather early."

They turned around to see a man emerge from the mist. He had the same icy blonde hair and piercing grey eyes all of the Malfoy men. Alyona thought she was looking at Draco's father at first, until the man stepped closer. He certainly looked like like Lucius, but there was just enough difference in his appearance to tell them apart.

"Taking Narcissa on a garden date this morning, I see," The man said confidently with a smile of approval.

Alyona looked at the man and then back at her boyfriend with great confusion.

Before Draco could speak up, then man continued his questioning, "Well don't just stand there staring at me, Lucius. A 'Good Morning' in return would be nice."

"Uh…good morning, Grandfather," Draco said, seemingly being annoyed at the interaction.

"Alyona, this is my grandfather, Abraxas Malfoy. Grandfather, This is my girlfriend, Alyona Blossom."

Abraxas moved closer to the pair as he inspected their appearances.

"Oh goodness, please forgive me, you look so much like my daughter-in-law. You two are the spitting image of them when they were around your age," Abraxas said as he admired the resemblance.

"I wanted to show Alyona around the greenhouse for her first time," Draco told him.

"And how are you finding it, dear? There's plenty to see in here," Abraxas asked.

"Oh, I love it! I could probably spend hours just getting lost in here, admiring all of the beautiful plants," She responded cheerfully.

"Well, I suppose it's nearly time for breakfast. Want to go back and get ready to eat, Darling?" Draco asked her.

She nodded with a smile as the two of them made their way towards the doors leading out of the greenhouse and back toward the luxurious manor, Leaving Abraxas behind to continue with his morning stroll through the indoor garden.

At the dining table, breakfast dishes were being brought by the Wheezy in great quantities, as per usual.

A typical breakfast at the manor consisted of an assortment of pastries, eggs prepared in every way imaginable, an enormous fruit platter, tea and other fruit juices.

Lucius and Narcissa were already seated and prepared to eat as they waited for the other two to join them.

"Good morning," Draco and Alyona said together as they made their way over to the long dark wooden table. They took their usual seats across from Draco's parents.

"Good morning, you two. How did you sleep?" Lucius asked.

"We slept great," Draco responded as he began to tear into his breakfast pastries.

Narcissa was instantly taken aback at the sight of Alyona's wild hair from the moment they had walked over to join them at the table.

"What on earth happened to your hair, dear?" She asked with subtle horror.

Alyona pulled forth one of her frazzled curls with her fingers and looked it.

"Oh, we went for a walk through the greenhouse this morning. It's beautiful in there," she chirped.

"Well, next time at least put your hair into an updo before you go so your style stays intact. I'm just thankful you didn't go out in public like that," Narcissa said angrily.

Draco could tell by the look on his girlfriend's face that those words inflicted feelings of inadequacy upon her.

"What's wrong with her hair, mother? It looks fine," The young Malfoy asked.

Narcissa sighed as she put down the fork that was holding the next bite of eggs on it, "Don't question me, Draco. That's no way for a lady of high standing to look. She looks…unkempt."

Before Draco could protest further, Alyona decided to lighten the mood.

"We ran into Draco's grandfather this morning, he seems really nice…Although, he confused us for you two," she said with an innocent giggle.

Lucius rolled his eyes, "That's my father for you, he's been going rather looney these past few years. It's why we prefer that he stay in his own living quarters in the east wing.

Narcissa turned to her husband, "Lucius, it's not kind to speak of your father that way. He's delightful to be around and there's nothing wrong with him."

"He's losing his mind, 'Cissa. I wish you wouldn't walk on eggshells around the subject," Lucius hissed as he took a sip of his tea.

Draco's mother sighed heavily and dropped the subject.

"What about Draco's grandmother? She must live here, too," Alyona asked.

The whole room fell eerily silent as Draco's eyes widened at the question.

"We don't talk about her," Narcissa sharply said, "After you've eaten, we're going to fix your hair. So make sure you don't run off anywhere."

Draco just stared down at his breakfast. He felt so embarrassed at his parents behavior, especially since Alyona was there to witness it.

~ooOOOoo~

After an awkward breakfast and hair appointment with Draco's mother, Alyona went back into the room that she shared with Draco, her hair perfectly smooth and tame once again.

"Hello, Darling. You look pretty, as always," Draco said lovingly.

"Thanks, Handsome. What should we do today?"

Draco sat on the bed in silence while he thought of something. "Not sure, we can't leave the manor, and I'm sure mother would kill me if we went swimming after she just finished with your hair."

"We can go feed the peacocks, they're so pretty and I've never seen one up close." She suggested.

He smiled at his darling before standing up from where he sat, "Anything you want, Love."
