I'd recommend reading the ones that come before this, or at least a couple of them, to get and idea of… yanno, the general atmosphere thing. Or something…

xDD Anyway. I'm experimenting with different writing styles, as you may already know, so that's why there are no speech marks. It's on purpose. You'll survive, I'm sure. :)

According to Akaya, curry is a state of mind.

No-one knows what he's talking about. Marui spent about three hours trying to get him to explain, but gave up when his boyfriend asked him how he defined curry. Marui said that it was a food, and Akaya said, yes, it is, but curry is a state of mind.

Yukimura thought that he might meant that it was the spiciness of the curry that did something to one's mind. Akaya gave him a funny look and continued to throw balls at the first years to make them run faster.

Yagyuu put it down to the usual strange way that Akaya's mind worked, and said no more on the subject. His doubles partner, Niou, said he kind of understood. That led Yanagi to conclude that you needed a special kind of madness to understand, and he told Niou to try and translate.

What do you mean when you say that curry is a state of mind? Niou asked him one day after practice. What do you mean, what do I mean? Akaya had asked back. How is curry a state of mind? Niou clarified. Akaya shrugged. It just is, he said. It's like… a state of mind. Curry.

What the crap? Niou had said in confusion. According to you, curry doesn't have a physical form and it is in fact a state of mind. What are you talking about? It's curry. It's a food.

No, Akaya said, you don't get it.

So what else is a state of mind? Niou asked sarcastically. Oranges? Soup?

Actually, Akaya said, miso soup is also a state of mind.

Niou gave up. It just wasn't worth it.
