Third P.O.V

What is happening? It's all Tsuna could think as yet another person had gone missing. It became worrying but Reborn assured him that nothing would happen to him. There was an underlying tone in the hitman's voice, one Tsuna refused to acknowledge. Possessiveness.

_

It had been nearly three weeks since Reborn first arrived. That also meant three weeks since the kiss. Tsuna shook his head quickly, he didn't want to remember it. It felt too good, too nice, and he was scared that if he let himself feel that way then it would go away.

Training had also started. He hates it. He's had to run laps around Naminori, not a school or store, Naminori as a whole. He had to train while at work as well, but that wasn't as horrible. Work had been better than usual. No one had yelled at him, hit on him, or mugged him in the last three weeks.

Tsuna moved around the kitchen, cooking breakfast, as a smile bloomed on his face. Unbeknownst to him, Reborn was watching with a fond look present on his face, "Tsuna," the hitman called out

The brunette hummed in acknowledgment

"Where's the remote to your TV?"

"I'm pretty sure it broke," Tsuna called back, his head popping into the living room, "Why?"

"I wanted to see what was on the news," Reborn responded

"The newspaper should be delivered by now," Tsuna went back into the kitchen, "You can get that if you'd like."

Reborn didn't respond that time but instead went to the front door. He was met with a teenage boy with black hair, "Good morning idiot cow," he smirked at the flinch he received from the teen

"Re-Reborn?! Your still here?" The teen exclaimed

"Where else would I be?" The hitman asked angrily, his annoyance showing. It was on purpose but the teen still flinched again and ran away, yelling about defeating the hitman one day.

"Who was that?" Tsuna asked Reborn

"A cow,"

"...I see,"

The hitman rose an eyebrow as he saw a gree chameleon in the brunette's hair, "Leon? When did you get here?" Reborn asked a chameleon that was in the brunette's hair

"You know this chameleon?" Tsuna asked

"He's my partner, Leon." The hitman reached for Leon

The chameleon happily went to his master as Tsuna stared in awe, "He's really cute," he commented lightly

Leon turned pink at the compliment and shied away onto the fedora

Reborn huffed a light laugh, "He says thank you,"

Tsuna giggled in response, "Well, breakfast is ready. I made some extra that Leon can have too,"

"You hear that?"

The chameleon tapped Reborn's hat as a response

"Let's go then,"

The three of them ate some breakfast as the two humans dove into a conversation, "How come Leon wasn't with you when you first got here?" Tsuna asked

"He was collecting information for me,"

Leon finished his tiny plate of food quickly and made his way over to Tsuna, "Really? For a different mission or something?" the brunette picked the chameleon

"Or something," Reborn finished his food as did Tsuna, "You get a break from training today by the way."

"I do? Is there a reason?" Tsuna asked with poorly hidden excitement

"I felt like it. Plus, you've been nervous about the recent disappearances, right?" There was an undertone to Reborn's voice, something Tsuna was desperately trying to ignore.

"I guess. It's just...what if I'm next, you know?" It was a fear he had since he was little, for the right reasons of course.

Iemitsu is an idiot, he didn't account for assassins finding out about his 'perfect' little family. So growing up, Tsuna was weary of everything. As was his mother, despite her act of obliviousness, she was paranoid and nervous. She would have preferred Tsuna didn't leave the house at all. Tsuna guessed it was this cloud thing Reborn mentioned.

[She always seemed to have this purple-type flame surround her and Tsuna when a stranger got too close to them or their home.]

"No one will be able to get close to you, don't worry," Reborn responded

'There it is again.' Tsuna thought to himself as he acknowledged the tone of possessiveness, protectiveness, and safety. It had been some time since he last felt safe like this, he felt this urge bubble inside of him to keep Reborn all to himself.

It was quickly brushed off as Tsuna stood up and began grabbing the dishes. Reborn simply watched the brunette, his eyes narrowing when the other slowed down. Worry began to wash over the hitman until

"Thank you...Reborn," The brunette ran lightly towards the kitchen, dishes in hand.

The man wearing fedora looked down at his partner, "You heard that, right?"

Leon nodded, turning pink in a mocking manner

"Don't mock me, my face isn't like that right now...right?"

Leon shook his head and went back to green. The chameleon walked off into the kitchen, leaving his partner alone.

"...Am I?" Reborn looked in a nearby window and saw his face as tan as always. He was getting a bit paler, 'Huh, I guess the sun doesn't shine that often here.' He thought to himself, it was no wonder Tsuna was so pale, 'I should take him to the beach.'

The hitman nearly smiled, his fond look turning into worry as a scream was heard from the kitchen, "Tsuna!"

Reborn burst into the room and saw Tsuna on the floor, bleeding. Nothing too bad, Leon was next to him, healing the young man. On the opposite side of the kitchen was a woman with pinkish hair, "Bianchi?" The hitman called out, his voice confused but dark

"Reborn, my love!" The woman, Bianchi, called out to the man

Reborn noticed the(his)sky have a look of hurt pass through his eyes. The man sighed irritably,

"You were a one-night stand, Bianchi. Now leave," he demanded, already walking towards the brunette to check on him

The woman began to get angry, all love leaving her senses as she watched the man she believed to be the love of her life help another person. She knew it was stupid of her, the brunette is a sky, his sky.

It didn't change the fact she was angry, "Did this," she looked Tsuna up and down, "thing, force you?" she said the word 'thing' as if even referring to Tsuna as that would be a curse

She was cut off by a gunshot, "Leave." Reborn's voice was void of any emotion.

It unnerved Tsuna to no end how just a few moments ago the hitman had been...content in a sense. But this, this tone downright scared him. It was a tone that held no emotion, a tone that promised pain.

The woman froze, she was shaking but eventually left.

The moment she was gone, Reborn moved next to Tsuna, he had a blank face as he healed the burning skin.

"Who was she?" The sky asked after a moment

"...A one-night stand. That's all she ever was." Reborn responded

"That's who she was to you Reborn, I want to know who she is." Tsuna's voice was firm and unwavering, despite his nerves racking his brain like an angry tiger in a cage.

"Gokudera Bianchi. Her assassin name is the Poison Scorpion." Reborn finished healing and had pulled the brunette into his lap, trapped between his arms and legs, "Her way of killing is poison cooking."

"That explains why she threw a cupcake at me," Tsuna responded as he leaned into the protective warmth, "...Have I told you that you're really warm?"

"No," Reborn nuzzled his face in the crook of Tsuna's neck, "You should tell me that more,"

The brunette giggled lightly, "...I'm still worried about those disappearances, you know."

"Don't be. I have already said that nothing will happen to you." Reborn's flames began to circle around Tsuna's, tightly holding on like chains.

The sky couldn't help but hesitantly do the same, unnoticeably but still, "But just now-" He was cut off

"Never again." There it was again, that cold emotionless voice.

The brunette felt his heart squeeze, not enough to be uncomfortable. He couldn't exactly name what he was feeling but he didn't hate it.

Reborn paused, processed what he had done. He didn't mean to say it like that but the idea of losing the brunette was dangerously painful, "I'm sorry Tsuna, I didn't mean to say it like that. Are you upset?"

Tsuna opened his mouth and then closed it before deciding on his answer, "No, I was surprised, yes, but not upset Reborn." He made it as sincere as he meant it, true he was frightened when he first used the tone with Bianchi, but that was different

The way Reborn used it now was more of as a protective...'friend', in Tsuna's humble opinion.

"...Ok," The hitman believed the brunette, albeit hesitantly, but believed him nonetheless.

"It's still morning you know, let's go out somewhere." The tension began to slowly fade but they never made a move to get off the floor.

Reborn lifted his head and looked Tsuna in the eye, "No grocery shopping."

The brunette laughed in response, "We don't have to do that for another week, don't worry."

"Then where would you like to go?" Reborn blinked a couple of times and looked around for Leon

Tsuna paid him no mind since the brunette was also curious as to where the chameleon had gone, "Somewhere fun I guess,"

The hitman hummed in response as he found his partner and quickly moved him to Tsuna's hair.

"You know, like..."

"Like?" Reborn moved his head again, this time on Tsuna's shoulder.

The sky bit the inside of his lip in frustration, "I actually don't know. I've never left Naminori." Never been able to leave.

Leon rubbed Tsuna's head in comfort causing the brunette to laugh lightly.

"We'll change that then," Reborn responded

"Hm? How so?" The confusion was evident in Tsuna

"There's a festival in two weeks, that day will be another break." It wasn't a suggestion, no matter how nice Reborn 'tried' to make it sound.

"A festival?" Tsuna's eyes began brimming with excitement

"Yes, in the meantime, we'll be going to a place called mafia land to help further your training," Reborn smirked

The sky ignored the smirk in favor of the festival, "Sound good to me!"

Disappointed by the lack of reaction, the hitman tightened his hold on the brunette, "You're just excited for the festival." He wasn't pouting, it didn't matter what either Tsuna or Leon said. He wasn't.

"Of course I am! This is my first time going after all," He began to ramble to the man holding him.

One question was able to make it to the hitman clearly, "Do you think there will be fireworks?"

"I'm sure there will be,"

"I can't wait!" Tsuna paused and a bit of a blush became apparent on his face, "...Will you be wearing your usual suit, or..."

"Oh? Want to see me in something different, do you?" The hitman smirked

"Possibly..."

Reborn wasn't expecting that response but he found it adorable, "I'll see what I can find,"

The two of them delved into a conversation about the festival, what to wear, what they'll eat, and what they'll do.

It transitioned into the topic of the disappearances again, Tsuna asked if Reborn knew what was happening to the people and the hitman dodged the question, he wasn't fond of lying to the kind brunette.

Their conversation quickly died down after that and they sat in silence, Reborn was messing with Tsuna's hair as was Leon, "Is my hair that soft?"

Reborn chuckled causing Tsuna to blush a bit and whine about how the two were treating him. All the while a smile was on the sky's face.

Later that night on the other side of town, in the middle of nowhere, there were a pair of cops walking around. They had been ordered to patrol that area. An older man looked particularly annoyed about the situation, "What do they think we're gonna find, huh?"

The woman next to him merely laughed in response, "Come on Seargeant, don't be like that." She moved her flashlight towards a warehouse of sorts, "Was that building always there?" She asked her partner

"Not that I know of," The man walked closer and carefully pushed open the doors, a foul smell hit them immediately.

Inside was dead bodies piled upon each other. Some of their organs were hanging out some had their heads smashed in. It was gruesome, to say the least, other than that, the building was built like a warehouse. There just weren't any storage shelves it was just an empty warehouse. Well, not if you count the bodies inside.

Both of their eyes widen at the sight, "Oh my god,"

The woman threw up in a bush and the man didn't look like he was going to last any longer. He quickly reached for his speaker, "We found them,"

Someone answered the line worriedly, "Found who?"

The older man looked back into the building, at the dozens of rotting corpses, "I-I think we found our missing people," He winced at the guts and dried blood splattered on the floor

"All of them?!"

"Possibly," The man paused as he looked at his, now pale, partner, "...We can confirm it as a murder case instead though."

There was a beat of silence over the line, "I-I'll send a crew over,"

"Thanks..." The man lifted his partner up as the line was closed, "How you holdin' up Ayase?"

"Do you see this often, sir?" She was still new, but this was a small town, how could something like this happen?

The older man shook his head, his face slightly turning greener each time he looked back, "Not at this level at the very least."

Something was happening in their small town, and no one would know why for quite some time.
