Reviews:
Gilgamesh50: I've decided to do some of my own twist of that particular part. In my way of thinking. I decided that since Ruby has Silver Eyes, where that shtick is literally a set of Mystic Eyes. I made it so that those who have a strong connection to Magic, can "resonate" with the more sentient blades within UBW. Ruby, having a stronger connection due to her Silver Eyes and thus, her resonance with the three blades strong enough to show glimpses of their history to her. Ozpin haven't tried yet.
Quathis: Yes, got it in one.
WTFamreading.jpg: True, but due to Remnant still being on the Age of Gods on a technicality, the more difficult swords to Trace for Shirou and Archer, are no longer as difficult for Jaune. And his better Circuits than the both of them helped the process as well.
RoyalTwinFangs: Yes, mostly due to her Silver Eyes being Mystic Eyes in my opinion.
MM Browsing: I did actually, you must've read over it. And yes, Jaune will eventually be Tracing those.
And for the rest of the Reviews. Some of it will be answered in this Chapter. Have fun reading... Or not, depends on you. And I'm planning on getting a Beta Reader, but I am new to such a thing. So I am pretty nervous on how to process the details. Also, apologies for the late update. Kinda got sick and my head felt like exploding, alongside school. Chapter is short, sorry.
Legend:
"Clean your room" Archer speaking
"Please clean your room" Shirou speaking
"Why me!" Jaune speaking with his thoughts
I woke up with a gasp. Sweat and grime covered my body, making me feel icky.
"What... What in Oum's name was that?" I asked myself. But thankfully, I didn't forget about the two tenants inside my head.
"You've been overtaxing your Circuits, dumbass. But then again, you did say not to stop you" Archer snarked, suddenly appearing in front of me... Wait what?! Since when could he do that!
"Now you're probably asking... How could I do this?" He waved his hand, before grabbing the butter knife on my bedside table. Hold on, am I in the infirmary?
"I have no idea" I facepalmed.
"Great... Now you can not just torment me mentally, but you can torment me physically as well. Can Shirou do it too?" I said to him with a sarcastic tone.
"As a matter of fact, yes. Though as Archer said, I too have no idea how we could suddenly do this" Shirou suddenly appeared next to Archer. Both of them glaring at each other.
"Normally, I'd be ecstatic about being able to roam around, but it seems that. After a certain amount of distance, I am pulled back to your mindscape" Archer spoke, tone annoyed at the fact that he couldn't leave.
"It's weird... Almost like how Servants could go into their Physical and Astral forms. Though we may be able to interact with objects, we aren't seen, nor felt by other people" I raised a brow at what Shirou said.
"Wait, so you're basically saying that, you two are ghosts of some kind?" I asked, skeptical of this whole situation.
"It's what he just said, you just dumbed it down" Archer retorted.
"Hey! I just woke up from Gods know, how many hours, and I will not be taking anything from you so early!" I suddenly yelled. Much to Archer's amusement.
"So, you do have it in you" I just rolled my eyes at him.
"Archer, just don't. We're still trying to find out how, we could suddenly do this. Other than the fact that, Jaune's Aura Capacity has skyrocketed" Excuse me, what?
"Well, here's my Theory. Remember the time where you, summoned Saber? How she wasn't able to turn to her Spirit form? Yeah, I'm theorizing it's similar to that, but reversed" Archer said, to which Shirou pondered for a moment.
"A possibility, though while not the best, it is still something we could work on later. So for now, we need to address the fact that, Jaune. Has a copy of Avalon" Avalon? What is that, another weapon?
"Hm, it's probably because of you Shirou. Though that won't make any sense, as the Avalon your father planted in you, has been returned to it's rightful owner" Archer spoke, his hand resting on his chin as he looked down, whole thinking.
"Or, because of his Soul reflecting ours. He could've taken more from your version. After all, you do have a copy of Avalon, though inactive" Shirou replied, causing Archer to widen his eyes slightly, and immediately traced something I fell like, should be a sin if I got a look at.
Blue motes of light, gathered around his outstretched palm, before converging to create an oddly familiar shape.
It has red and blue as it's primary color, with the gold weaving around the blue, like a silken cloth of those from a Vacuoian belly dancer.
"Wow..." I couldn't help but voice out my awe, at the Sheath that appeared before me.
"As I thought, it's inactive, yet Jaune's copy is active. Similar to that of mine back then" Shirou said.
"Wait, hold on. How could a Sheath be so important, other than to keep the blade safe?" Immediately, both of them sent me a glare, so intense. I froze up like a deer, in the middle of the road.
"It's not just a Sheath! it was the Sheath that made King Arthur immortal! As long as She had the sheath, it will continue to heal her, even through the most grievous of wounds" I blinked, surprised at the sudden outburst of Shirou.
Archer merely snorts at Shirou, who finally caught up on what he did and blushed, embarrassed at his sudden outburst.
"I, uh... Sorry about that" I let out a chuckle.
"Yeah, it's cool man. Just didn't expect to suddenly get yelled at, by you of all people" I replied, much to his embarrassment.
"That's enough, we will continue this later. For now, see if you could detect any other changes on your body. After all, it would seem that it's not just your soul reflecting our own, but it seems that your body too, is somehow changing. Though minute, but your height has increased a few centimeters" Archer said... Huh no wonder why I felt all my clothes slowly starting to feel cramped.
And with that, the two of them just literally blinked out of existence. Not even a single evidence is left, no matter how hard I tried to squint, to see if even a mirage of them would remain.
I sighed, completely drained from our interaction. To think they could just suddenly do that... What a pain.
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
The sudden sound of knuckles, hitting the wooden door alerted me. But before I could answer, the door suddenly opened and revealed Pyrrha, holding a small tray of fruits and... Is that a watermelon?
She was looking down when she entered, so her not noticing me being awake is a given. But as soon as she saw me, her eyes widened in surprise before quickly rushing to my side, using her semblance to lift the metal tray, and place it on top of a small table on the side.
"Jaune, you're awake! Are you feeling better? Are you thirsty? Should I bring you water?" Normally only Ruby could reach that kind of speed talking, but Pyrrha is giving her a run, for her money.
"Woah, easy there Pyr... I'm feeling a lot better now, though a little thirsty" She smiled when I replied to her, and immediately made her way to a water dispenser in the room. Huh, I'm guessing I'm in one of the special rooms for more... Serious injuries.
I've been so distracted by Shirou and Archer, that I couldn't take note of my surroundings properly. I suppose that is an error on my part, but still.
Pyrrha handed me the cup of water, and I immediately downed it.
"How long was I out?" I asked her.
"Just a day, but I was still worried about you, you know. I wasn't expecting to hear you break into a severe fever like that" She replied, face clearly full of worry as she placed her hand on top of my own.
"Sorry for making you worry, Pyrrha. I guess I was just too caught up, trying to catch up to everyone, that I forgot to take a break, myself" I let out a dry chuckle, which in turn. Got me a playful, yet worried slap on my shoulder.
"Say, Jaune... About your Semblance" I raised a brow.
"What happened? From what Ruby told us, you two were training, when all of the sudden. You broke into a severe fever, a few moments after yang arrived. Was it a backlash of your Semblance?" She asked.
"I-I'm not sure. But I did notice that everytime I use my Semblance, I do feel myself get a little warmer. So I suppose, the two has a connection" I replied, thinking about what Archer told me.
The two of us fell into a somewhat awkward silence, but that only lasted until her Scroll rang, causing the both of us to flinch slightly at the ringtone.
"You should answer that" I told her, and she nodded. She excused herself and answered her Scroll a few feet away from me.
As Pyrrha answered her Scroll, I couldn't help but use Structural Analysis on myself, and the results immediately kicked in. My muscle strength has increased by half, and my skeletal structure almost felt like steel with how sturdy it is, given how my Structural Analysis informed me.
I suppose it only natural, but this rate is far faster than normal Huntsmen improvement. Not only that, my frame is now closely hugging my formerly loose hoodie, and without my armor. I can see the details of my body with clear vision.
But, another thing I've noticed is when I try to Trace a weapon. Something is calling me. Somehow, I could tell that it wants me to bring it out. But that's not all. I could feel multiple presences calling out to me, some weaker, yet some almost as strong as the initial calling.
I deactivated my Circuits when Pyrrha came back, sitting down on the chair again, before telling me about the call.
"Well, good news the caller was just Ruby checking in. On the other hand, she and Yang are visiting after classes" After classes?
"Wait, you skipped class?" I asked, and she nodded.
"You know you didn't have-" She cuts me off by placing a finger on my mouth.
"It's not about "not having to" but rather, "I want to" you're my Teammate, Jaune. Our Leader, so of course we would worry about your well being... Plus, it's a little personal" I raised a brow at her last words.
"Don't mind that. What I'm saying is that, you've done good things for us, Jaune. I think it's about time we return the favor a bit" She said, grabbing an apple from the fruit tray she brought. Except she doesn't have anything to peel it with, other than the butter knife.
I let out a small smile before Tracing a mundane knife and handed it to her.
"Sorry, and thank you" She said. Causing me to let out a soft laugh, much to her embarrassment.
Afternoon came and Team RWBY came in, alongside a nurse that was sent here to discharge me.
"Glad you finally got up on your feet, Lover Boy. Ruby wouldn't stop worrying and it's starting to get on my nerves" Yang said through gritted teeth. Both eyes staring holes at my head, as I tried to avoid making eye contact with her.
"Yang! I thought you said, you won't tell him!" Blushed the girl in red.
"Haha... Well, thank you Ruby. I should also thank you for getting Professor Goodwitch to bring me in the Infirmary" I told her, much to her added embarrassment.
"Ok! That's enough, now can we go on about the fact that, you" Yang pointed at me, accusingly. "Heated up like like metal, exposed to extreme heat"
"Yes, while it's normal for a Semblance to have a downside. Like for example, Ruby's Semblance, while allows her to move at incredible speeds. She easily gets tunnel vision, and can get caught off guard" Weiss said, jabbing playfully at Ruby. The slight raising of her lips, is a telltale sign.
"Weiss!" Ruby was ignored.
"Ah, well... You see here, you know how I could copy weapons right?" All of them nodded. "Apparently, that's not all"
Weiss raised a brow, while Yang only crossed her arms, as Ruby glowed brighter than the sun, causing Blake to look away from her blinding smile.
"Watch this" I grabbed a banana from the fruit tray, and used Reinforcement on it.
Faint light blue lines appeared on my arm, making their eyes go wide. Ruby however, tried to touch them.
"Careful Ruby" I warned her, but to my chagrin. She flinched when she touched my heated skin.
"Now see this? This is a normal Banana right?" I asked them, and they nodded.
"Wrong" I asked them to move to the side, before getting off of the bed, and making my way to the window.
"This is no longer an ordinary Banana" Now, normally if I reinforce a Fruit, Vegetable, or anything edible. I can "Reinforce" their flavour, allowing me to cook far more delicious food, than normal... A little bit cheating, but the two of them uses the same method.
But for this demonstration.
I Reinforced myself, and the light blue lines appeared on my arm again. I opened the window with my other arm, I then wound up my arm holding the banana, and threw it downwards... After making sure no one is below.
I saw the banana not just survive the throw, but also managed to dig itself deep enough, to allow it to stand.
I moved to the side, and allowed everyone to see my demonstration.
"As you can see, unlike how you normally increase your weapon's durability with Aura. The effect immediately leaves the weapon, as soon as you drop it. Mine however, is an extension of my Semblance, and stays longer on the object" I explained, though rather incomplete. They can connect the dots.
"That's cool an all, but how does it corelate to your sudden illness?" Blake asked, and I turned to Ruby.
"Huh? Oh! Right, when I touched Jaune while he was glowing. He felt... Hotter?" Ruby could've worded that better.
"She could've worded that better" See! even Archer agrees!
Yang looked away, trying her best not to laugh. While Blake only palmed her face, as Weiss rubbed her head. Pyrrha let out a soft giggle, considering the way Ruby said it out loud.
"Right, anyway. As Ruby said, I get "Hotter" when I use it. It turned out that, my sudden illness was just me, overworking my Semblance and almost depleting my Aura" I had to lie a little bit at the end, as Aura exhaustion can lead to a fever, but can also turn for the worst.
"So basically, you were extremely irresponsible with your Semblance, that it took you getting a severe fever to make you rest? I know it's important to train, and all. But you should take better care of yourself" Weiss said.
Yang however, couldn't help but tease the young Heiress.
"Oh? Is it me or is Weiss, getting along real nice with Jaune?" She said, wiggling her eyebrows at me.
"Hey! Do not take it out of context! I wasn't worried about him, or anything!" Weiss retorted, clearly irritated at Yang's jabs.
"I didn't say you were worried, Weiss-cream" Yang replied, much to Weiss' horrific realization.
"This didn't happen! Got that!" She grabbed me by the shirt, as she told me those exact same words.
She stormed out of the room, causing Yang to laugh out loud before catching up with her teammate.
End.
