What the Other Doesn't Know

Wet and Wild

"Well, it looks like you got your wish," Kim shouted over the wailing winds. A fearsome storm was engulfing the island. Kim was not in the least thrilled about it. It could cause serious damage to the island. What if it completely destroyed it! She'd heard of storms that could do just that and this land they were on was small. About an hours walk up and down the coast.

"Good. At least I don't have to suffer in the heat anymore," Shego said and Kim shot her a dark look. "What?" the green skinned woman asked, rolling her eyes. "One of us has to be positive here."

"Since when are you the positive one?" Kim questioned over the roar of the wind.

"Ever since you decided to be a big grump," Shego shot back as the ferocious wind doubled down.

They needed to find shelter and soon. Kim and Shego ran down the shore, to Kim's cave. Inside, it was drier but the wind echoed frightfully through the drafty caverns. It remained dark too, for any attempt Kim made at starting a fire was thwarted by the breeze coming in. "Damn it," she spat and Shego chuckled from her spot on a rock not far away.

"Give it a rest, Kimmie. If you need me to light anything, I'll let my hands shine."

"Right. Thank you," Kim said, giving up. It was early in the evening but with the storm here, there wasn't much they could do. Kim settled herself down on the makeshift futon she had and Shego filed her nails not far off to the side. They couldn't even really talk because it was so loud. So they did nothing, Kim staring into the dark until it would be time for sleep.

The storm was putting her on edge and she couldn't wait for it to be over. Every time a clap of thunder was heard, getting closer and closer to where their cave was, she couldn't help but jump a little. Shego noticed this, because of course she did.

"Are you scared? Scared of the big storm?" Shego mocked.

"I am not! I've faced thousands of dangerous situations and one measly storm-" Kim jumped when thunder cut through the air, roaring right overhead. This was the loudest one. She huddled up into a small ball, shaking.

Before she knew it, Shego was by her side, pressing up against her in comfort. "Hey, it's alright," she whispered softly. "I won't let the storm hurt you." She didn't know why Kim was afraid of the storm and she wouldn't press to ask.

"I just don't like thunder," Kim confessed. Why this of all things scared her, she did not know. But it did. Shego wrapped an arm around the teen's shivering shoulders and held her tight. Both of their hearts were beating wildly right now but for different reasons. "The best thing to do is keep your mind off of it."

"How?" Kim asked in a small voice.

Shego smirked. This was it, an opening to finally test the water between them. If it went horribly she could just blame it on wanting to annoy Kim. "I think you know how," and chest full of anticipation, Shego leaned in and kissed Kim.

Kim felt everything melt away. The sounds, the surroundings. All she knew was Shego was kissing her. So softly, and for such a sweet reason. It probably was just another way for the villain to get under Kim's skin, but for now, Kim relished the press of soft lips against hers. The way Shego held her in her strong arms, cradled and safe.

Kim's arms crept up to Shego's shoulders and pulled her in closer, the two of them melting more into the kiss as the storm raged overhead.

Omake: Redo

At last their lips joined in the most sweetest of unions, kissing. Kim could feel her heart soar, Shego's stomach did flips. The red head tried to pour out her feelings in earnest, to put her all into that kiss. She gripped Shego hard by the shoulders, breathing heavily, and she thought Shego was getting really into the kiss when suddenly there were hands pushing on Kim's shoulders.

"Huh?" Kim's eyes fluttered open as the warm contact of lips on hers faded and she found herself inches away from Shego's now weirdly amused face.

"Kim, what are you doing?" Shego asked, trying to hide the amusement in her voice. That meant she wasn't mad, so it wasn't something bad that Kim had done. So then what was it?

"Uh, I was kissing you?" Kim blushed a little at that admission and Shego's amusement only rose more.

"Kim, sweetie, that's how you give mouth to mouth. Not how you kiss."

Kim's eyes went wide. "Oh." Then her face flushed a very bright red as she ducked her head. Shego only chuckled at her reaction. "I think you got kissing and mouth to mouth mixed up."

Would Shego not want to kiss Kim anymore? "I'm sorry. I'll fix it-" Kim stammered, not wanting Shego to think of Kim as the girl who couldn't tell those two things apart, and thus forsaking the two of them from kissing ever again.

"Oh, you'll fix it. And with my help," Shego's voice was low and seductive and she slipped a finger under Kim's chin to lift her mouth closer to hers before she kissed her hard once more.
