Yee Haw but Never Haw Yee

A/N: A quick cowboy AU to spice thing up. It's going to be three parts in total.

The heat of the midday sun on the scorched town was hot, but nowhere nearly as hot as the glare across the road. Standing at opposite ends, stood two women. One younger, and barely out of her teens. The other an older woman.

A tumbleweed tumbled in between them as the residents of the small town looked out their wooden windows and from the sidelines of a porch or walkway at the intense stare down happening. It was so quiet the cry of vultures from up above could be heard, they too invested in the battle. Both women stood in a stiff pose, gloved hands over the holster of their pistols, watching to see who would grab and shoot first.

The younger one, with flaming red hair, wore an all white outfit with cowgirl boots with KP on the spurs.

The older one, with dark hair, had an outfit that was dark with a sheen of neon green on it. While the younger one looked angry, she just smirked.

"Long time no see, Princess," she said languidly, with a slight western drawl.

"Not long enough in my opinion," Kim responded with. Her side kick, Ron, stood off to the side, worry on his face for his friend. He held onto the rope to their horse, Rufus, a naked horse.

"Funny, given how you can't seem to stop trailing me," Shego shot back.

"Only because you can't seem to stop stirrin' up trouble!" Kim shot back, her drawl almost none existent.

"And I don't see how that's any of yur business," Shego sassed. "Go back to the eastern coast. The west is no place for a little lassie like you."

"I have bagged many a bad man or woman in my travels. I may be young but I'm no sapling! The east coast villains tremble before me!"

"Ah, ain't ya cute. All full of yourself," Shego giggled and Kim was beginning to grow irritated. This woman wasn't taking her serious. Kim knew that might be a risk, coming to the West and all. But she was fresh from her success at home, catching criminals and the likes and putting them into jail. Soon she grew too big for her breeches and wanted something more challenging. Her co-workers had warned her about the dangers of the west and how nothing was as it seemed there. But she had laughed them off, thinking them just soft for not wanting to leave the safety of their comfy lives.

Only Ron, her childhood friend, had embarked on this journey with her.

"I have reason to be," Kim said staunchly and Shego's eyes narrowed.

"We'll see about that," Shego said and then her hand was on her gun. Kim's followed suit just as quickly. Bullets flew through the air as Shego ducked to the right and Kim to the left. The townsfolk let out cries of excitement, one or two men holding onto their hats in their watching of the duel. Ron was the only one to duck, hiding behind a trough as Rufus continued to drink from it unbothered.

"Man, I really don't like the west," he complained as a bullet whizzed past his head and made a hole in the door behind him. Rufus snorted in agreement as one bullet hit the trough and drained all the water out of it. He threw a glare their way and kicked his hoof angrily at the floor.

Kim ducked and rolled behind a cart while Shego took a spot behind a building. The both of them peeked out ever so often to trade off shots, before reloading. Eventually, they both ran out of bullets at the same time.

They were at an impasse. Kim cursed under her breath. What could be done now? She needed to nab Shego but she was out of bullets. Maybe Ron had some extra?

"Well, it's been fun Princess," Shego jeered as she came out from her hiding spot. She felt in no danger from Kim. Without a gun surely the woman wouldn't come after her. Shego's reputation was long and feared and even a hot shot like Kim should know better than to try to gain a hand on her without a long range weapon. "But I've got to get a mosey on. Have to count my riches," Shego teasingly held up the bag of gems she had pocketed.

Kim got out from her spot, still angry as before. "I don't think so." And then, she ran right at Shego.

Shego's eyes opened wide. She was not expecting this. What was the girl thinking?

Kim leapt with her fists out, in a martial arts pose that Shego herself knew and thought that no one else had bothered to learn. She dodged the blow, coming up with her own pose. This time, instead of exchanging bullets they exchanged blows. Kim knew what she was doing. Shego was surprised. The red haired girl kept her on her toes. She even had to do a couple of back flips to avoid kicks. Both of their outfits became coated in dust and they had lost their hats. Their heavy breathing filled the air as Shego absorbed a hit to her shoulder so she could twist her torso and send a gut punch into Kim who coughed at the impact but stayed steady on her feet.

"Well, I do say," Shego said, impressed. "I haven't had anyone keep me on my toes like this in a while." She wiped some blood from her lips with the back of her hand. And most insane of all, she was enjoying this. Almost to the point that she didn't want to end the fight. But she had to. She needed to count her loot.

"I told you I'm not just some green nose," Kim said, spitting to the side some blood.

"As much as I'd enjoyed watching you tire to my other martial arts, I do have to leave." At this her hands lit up a bright green. It was flames. Kim's jaw dropped open. She had never seen anything like it.

"How, how are you doing that?" she croaked out.

"Oh, Princess, you really don't know much about the west do you? Nobody here is normal, so you better get used to it." And then she flung a glob of green fire at Kim. It was all the red head could do to back flip out of the way, at the several attacks sent at her. By the time she was safely out of reach across the town space, Shego had already booked it and jumped onto her blue horses back.

"Let's go, Drakken!" and then she was gone in a cloud of dust.

"Kim, you alright?" Ron ran up to her, with a canteen of water. Kim was red cheeked and tired from the fight. But other than being sore where she had been hit, she was fine.

"I'm fine. I just didn't expect such a tough opponent," she said.

"You did well kiddo, but nobody's been able to stop Sinister Shego," said the man whose jewels she had taken. He was a stout older man, with a thick mustache and monocle.

"Can you tell me more about her? I was unprepared when I fought her but I won't let it happen again."

"Of course. I'l tell you all I know," he told her.

What were those powers Shego had? And how had she gotten them? Kim wondered if all bad guys in the west had them too. If so, she was going to need to get extra gear for this. Because she wasn't going to give up or run the other way. She was Kim Possible. Nothing was impossible for her!
