A Date
A/N: I am a cicada. No updates for months at a time and then I update once or twice and go back into my slumber...
"So..." Kim drummed her fingers on the table top.
"So..." Shego drawled, almost drumming her fingers on the table top. They were in a crowded cafe, their drinks by their side. An awkward air hung over them.
"What do we do now?" Kim ventured to ask, finally looking Shego right into her eyes.
"You mean after the date? Because I can think of a lot of things that don't involve a lot of clothes."
Kim flushed at this. The image was tempting, but not what she meant. "No, I mean- what do we do with us?"
Shego's brows raised. "You mean different positions? Cause boy, I got some ideas-"
Kim slashed her hands through the air to disperse the idea. "No, not that. Focus."
"I'm just trying to lighten the mood cupcake." Shego leaned back into her seat. "Well, it's clear given how we feel each other what the next course of action is but something tells me it's not going to be that easy."
"I mean, you are kinda my teacher right now. It would be very awkward."
Shego waved a hand through the air. "I can quit. The pay is shit anyways. I'll find something that gives me more buck for my bang."
Kim narrowed her eyes.
Shego scowled. "Fine, I won't go back into villainy. Not unless you wanna do a role play about it, princess."
"This is going to be complicated, isn't it," Kim sighed and took a swig of her frap like it was a vodka shot.
"Whenever is stuff like this not complicated?" Shego poised.
"My friends...and my family..." Kim threw her head into her hands. "How will they react? They might disown me! We're supposed to be enemies."
"You know what they say about love and hate," Shego said lackadaisically. When she saw how hard Kim was taking it, she put a hand on her shoulder. "Look, don't sweat it. We haven't even really done anything. We're not even together. And if you can't do it because-"
"But I do want to do it!" Burst out of Kim. "I really like you."
Shego smiled at this. "Could you say that again? The last part, I don't think I heard you."
Kim frowned at Shego. "You know what I said."
"I like you too, Kimmie. Which is why I want you to be happy. If that means we can't be together, I'll understand."
"And I said I do want us together," Kim explained. "It's just...it's going to take some time."
"Take however much time you need. We've already taken a ton to even understand we like each other. So, this isn't anything new."
"Thank you. For being so understanding."
Shego smiled. "We've been fighting each other for a while. I think we understand each other the most." Shego shrugged. "I'll quit my job, and maybe I'll go pursue that acting career I've always wanted."
"Sounds good to me," Kim said, relieved that Shego was understanding.
"And in the meantime, do you wanna finish this date up? I've got some movie tickets we can use."
"Gladly," Kim said, and allowed Shego to take her out of the cafe.
