What in Tarnation!?

A/N: A continuation of that one western piece I wrote a few chapters back.

As Shego rode her horse into the dusk, she could not help but think about her newest opponent. Kim Possible, a young upstart from the Eastern coast, along with some sidekick of hers. She had underestimated the girl. She had moxie and she put up a good fight. Shego couldn't wait to see the rascal once more, and she wondered when their paths would next cross.

As it would turn out, it wouldn't be too long of a wait.

Shego's latest heist- breaking into a rich man's house to steal his imported artifact, that of a monkey talisman- had been foiled, by none other than a lone ranger called Monkey Fist.

Hairy, and with a unibrow, this man had made animal screeches at her as she had cracked open the safe and taken the talisman out. And then he'd kicked her, sending her flying right into the wall before he snatched the object up. "Thank you for your work," he said, grinning widely at the talisman. "But I'll take it from here."

"I got the talisman first, square and fair," she grumbled, getting to her feet and rolling up her sleeves. She couldn't risk shooting her gun least it draw too much attention.

"We're in the West dear, the Wild West," he said, his voice incredibly posh for someone who looked like a brute. "There is no such thing as being fair." He pocketed the talisman into his front pocket and then climbed the wall with ease to escape up into the rafters towards a small open window. He would not be doing that, on her watch!

Her hands lit up green and she torched the rafter beams. He fell down with a yelp.

So much for being subtle. This fight was going to get heated.

Finding Shego turned out not to be hard. Kim had trailed her all the way to Dodge City, but then lost her in the crowded area. Even scouring the streets at night on horseback with nothing but a torch, did not help her. She had thought she could catch Shego thieving but it seemed the woman had not set out for the night. What could she even be after? Kim had a list of possible objectives but none-

The crash of breaking glass behind her made her turn her horse around. A man, dressed in all black and with a tail waving behind him, had just burst out of a window from some mansion. Green flames licked from the window and not a second later Shego jumped out and gave chase after the man.

Kim's jaw dropped open. There Shego was! But who was that mysterious man? It seemed as if Shego wanted him caught.

Well, if it would take catching the man to get to Shego and whatever it was she was trying to steal, Kim was on it. She kicked her horse into gear and took out her lasso.

She was unstoppable when it came to the lasso. She could catch anyone or anything with it. She chased after them, soon surpassing Shego. The woman's eyes widened.

"Princess?" she gasped out. "This really isn't a good time to fight me. Can you wait your turn?"

"I'm not here for you," she said and then let the lasso fly. Monkey Fist maybe good in small tight spaces, but he was out on open road. There was nowhere he could climb too. The lasso wrapped around his torso and he went down. Kim came up to him, holding her rope tight as she dismounted. He fought her hold but she did not let up, tying his legs and arms together until he resembled a stuck pig. Shego caught up to them, out of breath.

"Let go of me now! I will not be thwarted by some young faced upstart!" Monkey Fist bellowed but Kim patted him over and took the talisman he had stolen.

"So predictable," she sighed.

"Predictable?" he screeched. "You don't even know me child."

"I did my research," she said, pocketing it. She threw him on the back of Rufus who gave a snort at the addition of the weight. "We're gonna head over to the county jail. As for you," she turned to look at Shego. "We've got some catching up to do." She stepped closer into Shego's face. "So don't even think about running, or stealing the talisman."

"Talisman? You mean this one?" And Shego pulled up the talisman she had just pick pocketed from Kim.

Kim stepped back and ran hands over herself. No, it was gone. How had Shego-

She looked up in shock, but Shego was already running away.

"Shego!" Kim bellowed out. She had used her rope on Monkey Fist. She couldn't untie him to catch her. She jumped on Rufus and kicked her heels into his side. The most he could do was a trot with the weight of Monkey Fist on his back. He was a carrying horse, he was meant to be a running horse. Shego was faster and lighter on her feet and when they approached a house she ducked behind it. No amount of searching could find her.

She was gone, once more.

What a Rodeo

This pattern of bumping into each other and chasing the other down continued for quite some time. Shego would always slip away at the end. Ron was getting concerned for Kim.

"You think it might be better if you take a break? You've been on her trail for three months. You don't look so well," he crushed the brim of his hat between his hands in worry.

"I'll be fine. I just have to keep trying," she said, poking the fire with a stick. Her eyes blazed with determination. She had never failed before, and so she refused to fail now.

It would be a twist of fate that finally brought Shego into Kim's arms, but not how she would have liked her to. The woman's outfit was torn in several places and she was bleeding from several superficial wounds. Kim had just been about to leave the room she was staying at in the local inn when Shego had fallen into her arms, exhausted.

Ron yelped in worry and fumbled for his gun but Kim shook her head no and set Shego down gently on the bed.

"What happened? What's going on?"

"Water," Shego croaked out and Kim nodded her head for Ron to fetch some. He filled the cup from the iron pitcher and Kim helped Shego sit up enough so that she could drink the water. She drained the cup in one go, before speaking.

"The villains. They got insecure over me and thought I was too big of a threat on their operations, so they ganged up on me and tried to take me down. Despite ta trap, I still managed to make it out alive."

Kim's eyebrows went up. "What now."

"Well, they right pissed me off," Shego said, grimacing in pain. "And I am loathe to admit that I can't do much about nothin' right now. Not in my current state."

"You want my help."

Shego nodded her head.

"Out of the question!" Ron cried out, making an X with his hands. "Kim she's a villain. She'll double cross you. What if this is a trick?"

"I want those bastards dealt with," Shego growled out. "If Kim helps me, she gets to send the biggest score of villains into the jail that no other bounty hunter has 'fore. And, she gets rid of them for me. It's a win win deal. Why would I be stupid enough to back out of it? Or to trick her? 'Sides I'm injured now. She could throw me into the jail herself. I'm putting a lot of trust in coming here."

Ron did not look convinced but Kim did. Her eyes burned with familiar fires of determination. "I'll help you, but lord have mercy on your soul if you double cross me."

Shego grunted out, "I wouldn't dream of it."

She stuck out her bloodied hand. "We got a deal?"

Kim shook her hand. "Deal."

Ron let out an unhappy groan. He felt this would all go sideways and fast.
