Chapter 7: Where It All Goes Wrong. A section in a book called The Blood Games Story - Written by Patrick Roseforge.

The 7th Hunger Games

People wondered if another rebellion was bound to happen? The Capitol has long realized that taking away children to their will cause anger; but the Capitol also expected fear. The choice for the Numbers was to either stay in their rightful place below the Capitol or make it worse for themselves. It was inevitable in my eyes that something like a planned rebellion would happen. I just let it happen. Another 25 years of the Hunger Games happened here. An act of rebellion I inflamed so my revenge would last longer. Oh, how I regret letting this happen now.

We got some few interesting tributes worth mentioning. Lets mention the four volunteer's first: Exalted Man (his real name) from District 5, a tough volunteer with Capitol loyalty. He claims he wants to prove that Five is a loyal District. The second volunteer, Teo Anderson from 8, he seemed like a blunt and professional person who knows his way around weapons. The third one, Finn from 4, apparently was intrigued by the promise of money. The last volunteer, Andrea from 11, volunteered for unknown reasons, but it would appear she had some practice with knives.

The other interesting tributes would include Seska from 9, a private dwarf who was uncomfortable on stage. Then came Seska's district partner, Welch. He's overall the most psychically powerful and he showed natural skill with a warhammer. Marnie from 4 is a tall blonde proclaimed herself to be a competitor, "doing whatever it takes to win". Last one I'll write down would be Hannah or 'Annie' from 10. She has a bipolar disorder, which is probably caused by her abusive foster parents along with her house burning up her real parents - let's just say her life was not pretty.

As for teams, well, not many, but Teo and Welch were pretty friendly. Exalted and Finn teamed up with one another. A bunch of pairs, but it was all for naught soon enough.

I don't remember the bet this year. Not very important to start, but less so in the 7th Hunger Games.

-THE GAMES-

So, all over the world, there's a bunch of long gone cities. I've decided to use this year's arena to be the old 'New York City' and it's ruined vine'o'plenty tall buildings, adding a bunch of security camera's and stuff to make sure that the tributes won't escape. That said, while I was expecting a tribute to make a move, I underestimated the scale of rebellion that would happen.

The cornucopia is a place once called Central Park. It had a open field in the middle of it, so it was the perfect little spot to place one. The tributes were all rounded up, forming a circle around the cornucopia as they usually do. They look around to see that there are trees near them, but behind the woods are large wrecked buildings and skyscrapers. I imagine they would look in awe as they did at the Capitol if it wasn't a death match.

A hologram started, counting down from 60. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...

You see, what I expected was a idiotic attempt at simple yelling out 'Capitol stupud' or trying to break the force field from Teo or Andrea. I've been keeping a close eye on them, as I've discovered that they have less than noble intentions for my home.

I've decided to let them go at it. But I underestimated how prepared these rebels were, and I've been keeping a eye on the wrong rebels.

Callan from 11 had a token with him, a little toy battery. It's wasn't a EMP. A rather powerful one that escaped from our notice. Once Callan pulled it out, it sent out a charge that circles the surroundings of the cornucopia. The thing managed to shut the trackers on the tributes, and also the bombs inside in the trackers.

Once that was done, Teo yelled out to the other Numbers. "Something something, trackers turned off. Something something, we can all get out of here." While that was going, Krystal and Boomer from 12 were digging up a hole not far south from the cornucopia. They appeared to have hidden something there during the construction, and it wasn't party gifts.

It was a whole batch of weapons. Firearms and grenades, none of the medieval toothpicks that I seem to find an abundance off and give kids to poke with.

The rebels now have guns on their side.

I have severely underestimated them here, I admit that.

Thankfully, not everyone was one board with this plan, Exalted from 5, bristled from this treason and gone to stab Teo. Only to be unfortunately stopped by Seska from 9 with a dagger to the leg. Finn from 4, an ally of Exalted, sees that many tributes are very much swayed to this cause. He's outnumbered, and decided to run instead. His district partner, Marnie, also decided to ditch when Teo intention of rebellion was made clear.

Exalted was a loyalist, and one that's gone too soon. Maybe he would have made it if he kept quiet or had this been a regular Hunger Games, but it was not to be. Teo asked Boomer for a handgun, and Teo instantly gave the resistant Exalted a shot to the head.

Exalted Man, District 5 Male: 24th Place, Killed by Teo. Insurrection.

That said, we couldn't let this all continue. Teo and the whole lot of tributes (all of them except District 4) was most likely going to try to make a escape. The consequences of doing so were eminent.

After close to half an hour, the tributes at Central Park are armed to the teeth with either bombs or guns. Setting up a rather safe position behind walls and trees. That said, the peacekeeper forces were moving in now.

The Seventh Hunger Games turned into a warzone (on a smaller scale, but still one). The first peacekeeper forces, a few cars, were bombed to hell by mines, but it was only four cars. There's still about fifty more heading their way, being careful about they drive. Meanwhile, Finn and Marnie meet up during this time, and decided upon having a truce.

It would appear that the tributes decided to stand their ground against them, but they weren't trained soldiers. Sure, a couple of them got lucky and killed a few, but peacekeepers are a challenge themselves and the first wave of gunfire killed Oxford from 10, Ian and Crimosa from 1, and Lyold from 6 quickly enough.

Oxford Washington, District 10 Male: 23rd Place, Killed by peacekeepers. Insurrection.

Ian Danger, District 1 Male: 22nd Place, Killed by peacekeepers. Insurrection.

Crimosa Redshirt, District 1 Female: 21st Place, Killed by peacekeepers. Insurrection.

Lloyd Lexus, District 6 Male: 20th Place, Killed by peacekeepers. Insurrection.

Whatever Teo's plan was, standing their ground, perhaps wasn't the best when the Capitol clearly has more soldiers than he does. So, some tributes also hid themselves in the buildings, Darling from 5 and Rash from 7. Both young and stupid tributes who threw grenades at the peacekeepers coming through the ruined streets of old New York.

All that did was sent the peacekeepers behind them to gun for those two. Not a solid plan and it did not end well for them as they were quickly shot down.

Darling Samhita, District 5 Female: 19th Place, Killed by peacekeepers. Insurrection.

Rash Sanshoko, District 7 Female: 18th Place, Killed by peacekeepers. Insurrection.

Why would they wait? Well, apparently they got some help from above. Three hovercrafts came raining down bombs on the Capitol forces. We didn't expect these reinforcements, but President and myself were later informed the hovercrafts the rebels used were a old model. The Capitol's own hovercrafts were faster and coming soon enough.

Many of the peacekeepers have been killed and some enough, Hannah from 10, was having a stroke of some kind watching the battle in front of her. She froze, and threw the grenade in front of her. It was a terrible missthrow, and it ended up getting Sancho from 3 killed by accident.

Sancho Abarca, District 3 Male: 17th Place, Killed by Hannah. Insurrection.

Seeing this mistake, Hannah screamed and ran away from the battle.

She wasn't the only one who couldn't handle the stress. Welch from 9 cried during the fight, seemingly in disarray. One of the hovercrafts were landing, with Teo waving. Welch, for whatever reason, decided to grab a grenade launcher and aim at the rebel aircraft. It was well done shot - or Welch was just lucky - as the fragmentation missile went and destroyed the hovercraft that was meant to escape. The hovercraft exploded and landed right on top of Jewelry from 2 who was shooting at the peacekeepers before she had time to notice.

Jewelry Kingshill, District 2 Female: 16th Place, Killed by Welch via hovercraft. Insurrection.

Seeing that Welch betrayed them, Bee from 8 was enraged and shot at him. Welch wanted to run at that moment, but it was too late, he couldn't outrun the bullet that penetrated the back of his brain. Had he survived, perhaps the Capitol would have allowed him to be a Victor.

Welch Errol, District 9 Male: 15th Place, Killed by Bee. Insurrection.

This unfortunate betrayal doomed the traitorous tributes. After five minutes, the rebels couldn't face the peacekeepers anymore. The Capitol's hovercrafts finally arrived and destroyed the rebel hovercrafts. And once more, reinforcements came to finishing the job. Many tributes were surrendering. Both Bee and Welch decided not going down that road and fight to the bitter end. Obviously, that didn't end up with anything but bodies made up with bullets.

Teo Anderson, District 8 Male: 14th Place, Killed by peacekeepers. Insurrection.

Bee Sprocket, District 8 Female: 13th Place, Killed by peacekeepers. Insurrection.

After the other tributes surrendered, we shook hands and decided to have a tea party...

OF COURSE NOT. No, they are traitors and deserving of execution. After all, they should be made examples of. These remaining nine tributes, and after that, we've gone and execute their families as well. Malak from 7 was the only one that almost got away, but was stopped when he tripped on bullet shells. And so, one by one, they were shot dead.

Seska Bitter, District 9 Female: 12th Place, Executed. Insurrection.

Callan O'Donnagain, District 11 Male: 11th Place, Executed. Insurrection.

Krystal Jaeger, District 12 Female: 10th Place, Executed. Insurrection.

Morlac Steelfury, District 2 Male: 9th Place, Executed. Insurrection.

Malak Vask, District 7 Male: 8th Place, Executed. Insurrection.

Pearl Worker, District 3 Female: 7th Place, Executed. Insurrection.

Boomer Snapple, District 12 Male: 6th Place, Executed. Insurrection.

Andrea Olive, District 11 Female: 5th Place, Executed. Insurrection.

Leda Wheeler, District 6 Female: 4th Place Executed. Insurrection.

Well, this Hunger Games was a pretty big bust so far. Of course, we had to find the remaining three tributes. The Fours, Finn and Marnie were quickly found. We gave them a day of rest and hot cocoa for being good little Numbers. Soon after, we also found a crying Hannah, who didn't want to be dragged anyway. The poor traumatized thing.

In any case, she still took part in rebelling and the Capitol can't tolerate that. We wanted no chances. Hannah had to go.

Hannah Bulleguard, District 10 Female: 3rd Place, Executed. Day 2.

After a day of disaster, there is still Marnie and Finn left. We left the two of them in a stadium, giving them weapons of their own choice. They both chose daggers, perhaps it was easier for them to use these weapons than the others.

Marnie attacked first, Finn dodged. He did the same, Marnie dodged. It's been a same pattern, and some cuts were made. After a few strikes, Marnie managed to scar Finn's face, making a line that goes across Finn's right eye. That said, Finn managed to get the first fatal blow and stabbed Marnie in the stomach.

This stab did the job, wounding her to the ground as she fell to the ground. Finn made the final stab to her head, ending his district partner's life. It was perhaps easier for Finn to win this Hunger Games, but the Capitol was satisfied with this arguably loyal Number. Because of Marnie and Finn, District 4 were heavily rewarded unlike the other districts that were punished for their tribute's attempted rebellion.

Not to mention, Rule 4 has been broken. Therefore, the District's shall suffer another 25 years of the Hunger Games.

Marnie Token, District 4 Female: 2nd Place, Killed by Finn. Day 2/Finale.

Finn Kevara, District 4 Male: 1st Place. Victor of the 7th Hunger Games.

-THE AFTERMATH FILE-

7th HG:
Name: Finn Kevera(M)
District: 4 (#2)
Age: 14

Bio: Finn belonged to a family of boat workers, and he didn't seem to enjoy this line of work. He wished for something more in life, and the Hunger Games promised it. That said, he also had sickly younger twin siblings to take care off and this was perhaps a major reason he chose to volunteer his life. Reported to be a bit of a risk taker, Finn apparently surfed a dangerous wave that nearly got him killed at one point.

Victory Tour: Being a Victor in what appears to be a failed rebellion, he was either shouted out as a hero of sorts for his loyalty or given the cold shoulder by the all twelve District's populace. Mostly the cold shoulder. But popular nevertheless in his own District Four.

After the HG: Finn got what he wanted, and now has enough money to help his twin siblings and give his parents a start for a boating company. He also helped found a school for training for the Hunger Games, he called Token Academy, named after his district partner Marnie Token. He did so due because he thanks her for getting him here and for the wicked scar on his face. Finn wasn't too interested in that. Preferring the daredevil life, such as surfing, mountain-climbing, and other stuff. Being a Victor gave him some opportunities. He lived a dangerous life... until 31 years later, he traveled across the ocean with his boat and mysteriously disappeared.
