3DJoker: The thing is, as ridiculous as it sounds, Danny can legitimately travel faster than light in the canon series. I'm not even joking. I looked up his feats before writing this and people have done the calculations. He's actually that fast. And he can legitimately dodge lasers. So I had to apply that to the Hazbin Hotel universe as well. As for the fire as hot as the core of the sun and explosion the size of a small nuclear explosion, that is my own interpretation. Because apparently Fright Knight can use Soul Shredder, his sword, to create a storm that would cover the entire world. A Hiroshima or Nagasaki sized explosion seems pretty weak in comparison to that.
IrishKatana: Yeah, I imagine there would be some. I guess Azreal, the Angel of Death, could be one of them that are against attacking Danny. However the ones who don't want Danny dead would be a minority. Most absolutely would want him dead. So maybe one or two might try to give him some minor help on extermination day but we'll have to see.
Chaosh.H.A.O.S: Do you really want spoilers? Fine. Spoiler alert: Don't read past this point if you don't want spoilers! What I said at the beginning of the story still applies. I think Charlie ships are over done. Danny is going to end up with Octavia.
Danny used his exterminator sword and cleaved the head off of the leader of a gang of thugs that had been causing trouble in a brothel/porn studio on his territory. Danny didn't particularly enjoy the fact he was forced to go into said brothel, but having heard gunshots he didn't really have a choice. The worst part was, ever since he had woken up that morning he had been freezing cold and couldn't seem to get warm no matter how much he bundled up. He had even gone out and bought a brand new heavy jacket just for this, and it wasn't helping.
Cujo was there as well, viciously mauling a few demons.
The battle had been relatively short as Danny remained serious the entire time and didn't even try to crack any jokes or make any puns, and he went in fully intent on killing the thugs. His behavior had become much darker and more serious ever since he fought Skulker and lost his arm. Especially in battle. He had completely stopped messing around or holding back.
With the leader dead and the rest of the gang on the ground wounded, dying, or being mauled by Cujo Danny went around and started stabbing or beheading the bodies of the gang members with his sword just to make sure they were all dead.
"Thanks, Phantom. I could'a handled it myself, but it's always nice to have a bit of help." Angel Dust, the owner of the brothel, stated as he reloaded his tommy gun. "Man, if only you were a bit older I'd offer to help ya 'warm up' a bit, if ya catch my drift. But since you're a kid, the best I can do to pay ya back for helpin' with these jackasses is give ya some cash. Or drugs if ya want some."
Danny glared at Angel Dust.
Angel Dust raised his hands placatingly. "Kidding, kidding… Sheesh… I forget how much of a stick in the mud you can be sometimes, kid. I mean when I was your age I was all in on the drugs and alcohol… Ah well."
"It's my job to be a stick in the mud. If I wasn't, this whole chunk of the city would be a lot less safe." Danny stated, his whole body shivering from the cold as he plunged his exterminator sword through the back and into the heart of a wounded demon that was trying to crawl away from him. "Besides that stuff will ruin your life. If I could make it illegal in my territory I would, but there's so many here that I can't try to punish everyone who takes them or I'd basically have to destroy the entire place… Just don't try to get me or anyone in my gang to take any and keep it in private when you're high. Anyway, keep your money. I don't need it."
Angel Dust shrugged. "Eh, your loss."
"Need help getting rid of the bodies once I'm finished killing everyone here?" Danny asked.
Angel Dust shook his head. "Nah, we can do that much at least. Though if you were anyone else I'd probably actually take ya up on that. Kid, I don't know if ya realize how big a favor ya did me by gettin' rid of Val but life's been a hundred times better around here without that sack of shit. I won't go into too much detail but let's just say, the bastard had it comin'. Anyway, my point is, I owe ya one. So if you ever need anything from me, all ya gotta do is ask… Holy fuck it's suddenly freezing ass cold in here! What the hell is goin' on? It was like ninety degrees just two fuckin' minutes ago!"
"I have no idea. It's been like this for me ever since I woke up this morning. I just can't seem to get warm no matter what I do and from what people say everything is getting colder around me." Danny explained as he cleaved the head off another gang member.
"Well, shit… I don't mean to sound ungrateful or anything, but if this is you doin' this would ya mind leavin' soon? 'Cause holy shit, I can actually see legit sheets of ice forming on some of these bodies! I'm starting to get a bit worried I might catch hypothermia if ya stay here much longer, kid. Ya already kicked these guys asses, ya don't need to kill 'em all. Just leave the rest to me and I'll throw anyone that's still alive out, alright?" Angel Dust requested.
"S-sure… Sorry for t-the trouble… C-Cujo, come on boy. W-we're leaving." Danny stuttered through chattering teeth as he wrapped his one good arm around himself and held the stump of his left arm close to his body. With that he quickly sheathed his sword before leaving the brothel/porn studio. Cujo followed after him, panting happily and licking up the blood covering his face. The currently massive ghost dog had a demon's ripped off leg in his mouth and was holding onto it like a bone or a chew toy.
Shivering, Danny tried to breath on his hand to warm it up but if anything doing this only made it colder.
He and Cujo stopped to rest on top of a nearby roof for a few minutes while Cujo finished eating the leg he had torn off and Danny tried his best to find any way possible to warm himself up, to no avail. Even using his normal ecto abilities which often generated heat was not helping him right now.
"F-f-f-fuck! W-w-why am I s-so c-c-cold?!" Danny cursed, as he shivered helpless to do anything to warm himself up. That's when he noticed ice rapidly starting to cover the entire roof he and Cujo were on, as well as several other roofs around them. And he could see the leg Cujo was chewing on rapidly freezing solid and thus being crushed and shattered by Cujo's powerful jaws instead of shredded. Not that the ghost dog seemed to mind much as he happily crunched away on the frozen demon leg. However, Cujo was clearly shivering and very much did mind the ice forming on his own body.
It was fairly late in the day. Danny had noticed that things were starting to freeze all around him earlier that day but he hadn't known what to do about it, if he could do anything to begin with. But now he could see the range at which things were freezing around him was slowly expanding.
Taking his phone out of his jacket he was going to call Vlad when he noticed even his phone had frozen to the point it was no longer functional. "C-c-crap!" He grumbled as he stuffed the ruined phone back in his pocket. "C-C-C-Cujo, g-g-go b-back h-home." He ordered. He could see the ghost dog was uncomfortable and he didn't want to accidentally hurt him if this continued much longer.
Cujo looked at Danny before dropping the frozen demon leg, walking over to Danny, licking him thus causing a large sheet of ice to form on Danny's face, before picking the frozen leg back up and bounding away.
"G-g-gross…" Danny muttered as he peeled the sheet of frozen saliva off his face. He then floated up into the air and flew out of the city. He needed to get out so he didn't hurt anyone unnecessarily if the cold around him kept expanding. Plus he had an idea. He assumed this cold was part of his ghost powers so theoretically that just meant he needed to exhaust himself to the point he could no longer maintain his ghost form. Right? He wasn't sure but it was the best idea he had at the moment.
Once he was outside the city in his and Vlad's usual training area, Danny used the one power he knew would exhaust him faster than any other. His ghostly wail. He kept it up for as long as he possibly could and it destroyed everything in front of him as per usual. Eventually he was forced to turn back to his human form and collapsed to his knees, panting from exertion. Yet he still felt freezing cold. Maybe it wasn't getting worse like it had been, but he was still cold to the point he was sure he should have gotten frostbite or hypothermia by now. Probably both. Yet he hadn't for whatever reason.
Not sure what else to do, Danny sat down and curled up into a shivering ball on the ground. "C-c-cold… S-s-so c-c-cold…" He muttered to himself. He sat there, curled up into a ball, for a couple hours until he was able to turn back into his ghost form and everything within a radius of an entire city block around him started to be covered in a thick layer of ice that was slowly getting thicker. Worried what might happen to his human body if this continued much longer he morphed back into his ghost form, hoping any damage he sustained from the cold in this form would be mitigated somewhat
"Daniel? What's going on here?" Vlad's voice demanded from the air behind him.
"V-V-Vlad? W-w-what are y-y-you d-doing h-h-here?" Danny asked.
"I've been trying to call you for the past fifteen minutes but you weren't picking up so I had to come look for you. And here I find you shivering on the ground surrounded by ice while the temperature feels like it must be below zero at minimum… Daniel, I need you to explain to me what's going on. I can't help you if I don't know what's happening." Vlad told him.
Danny tried his best to explain through his chattering teeth.
When Danny's explanation was over Vlad said, "I see… I think I know what's going on here. I went through something similar in the past, but in my case it was heat instead of cold." Vlad said as he conjured up a light purple ectoplasmic fire to his hand. "Things were heating up and catching fire all around me. I actually ended up starting a massive forest fire by accident. In my case it lasted for days until I finally figured out how to control it. That being said, I didn't have anyone to try to help me figure out my powers."
"Y-y-you c-c-can c-control f-f-fire? S-s-since w-w-when?" Danny asked.
"Since before you were born. I just never used it on you because I find it rather barbaric to burn my enemies alive, for obvious reasons. So, Daniel, I'm going to teach you what I did to gain control over fire. Except in your case you will have to do it for ice instead. I just hope my technique translates well enough to your ice-based powers." Vlad said.
The two of them then started practicing. Danny picked up what Vlad was trying to teach him quite fast and fortunately Vlad's general technique for how to conjure fire did translate to Danny conjuring ice and cold.
After getting Danny's ice powers under control, the two of them started experimenting with the powers to figure out ways in which it could be used other than just actively freezing things. It turned out Danny could make ice based constructs such as razor sharp shards of ice and could launch them at targets and could actively manipulate his own ice to an extent. His manipulation of the ice was slow and crude but he could do it, somewhat. Though he was sure that with more practice he would be able to get a finer control over it.
Thanks to BoredKing for his suggestion about giving Danny the Ecto-Peeler, I've thought of a potential solution to the Extermination Day issue. I don't think the Ecto-Peeler itself would be strong enough. However, I can have Danny use what he is learning from Vlad and what he has learned from his parents to build his own version of the Ecto-Skeleton he used to defeat Pariah Dark. Now, this version will be a lot more crude and won't be as powerful as he isn't as knowledgeable or experienced as his parents, but it also won't kill him quite as fast either. I'm thinking it would increase his power twenty five or maybe thirty times rather than the full one hundred and he might be able to use it for eight or so hours. Granted Extermination Day lasts the full twenty four hours but all he has to do is beat the arch angels coming after him, right? Once they're beaten he should be able to last the rest of the time entirely on his own. At least in theory.
I've added the third option to the poll.
