Jack stared at the strange device before him. Kaz had used said device to travel to and from his house, and it was unlike anything the redhead had ever seen. It wasn't a Shen Gong Wu, nor was it pure robotics. True, any highly advanced technology could be indistinguishable from magic, but this wasn't like the magic he'd seen. Kaz had called it a Portal Gun, powered by a strange motherboard and kinda rare magical stones that were near-impossible to make synthetically.

"Cool, huh." Kaz said while their new friend was investigating it.

"Yeah." Jack answered, "Did you make this?"

"No, I bought it. In my Dad's universe, they're as common as cell phones."

"Dad's universe?"

Kaz froze on the spot. They hadn't meat to say that, but they did. Taking a breath, Kaz explained: "Ever heard of the multiverse?"

"Yeah." Jack answered. He had heard of all the theories and had considered making some experiments in it, but changed his mind.

"Well it's true." Kaz answered. Then they took out another device and tapped it. Then a hologram map of the multiverse was emanated from the device. The map showed what looked like spheres inside of spheres, and some of those inner spheres had spheres inside of them. "This is the Multiverse." Kaz said after Jack stared in shock and awe. "There are infinite Universes, Dimensions, Worlds and Timelines. Basically, anything that you think can happen, and even the ones you can't but are still possible, has happened. And is happening. Now, this is only one timeline, ours, but we can't go into others, only look."

"But-but, I've seen people mess with the timeline before." Jack answered after he found his voice, "I've even played a part in it."

"Flukes." Kaz answered, "Destiny is a strange and confusing being. But, there is a method. Teaching valuable lessons, entertainment, etc."

Jack slowly nodded.

"Normally," Kaz added, "if you time-travel, you can't 'change' the future. Sure you can make the timeline split, but that's it. Whatever you do, already happened, and was always meant to be."

Jack nodded. "Well that handles the Grandfather Paradox."

"Yes, yes it does." Kaz said with a smile, Jack liked their smile. "Now, this is where we are," Kaz said, pointing to a glowing sphere that had a lot of inner spheres, and one of them was also glowing, "The CNU, Dimension XS, Earth." Then they pointed to another sphere that was somewhat close, "This is where my parents are from, Universe Fay121144, Dimension ANTW. My Dad's from the planet Domfran, and my Mom's from the planet Donera. Both are lovely places."

Jack continued to stare. It was all, so amazing. Maybe he could make something like this? His own Portal Gun, his own Map of the Multiverse. He did make his own device to locate Shen Gong Wu.

Suddenly, Kaz got a painful headache and cradled their forehead as they shut their eyes. The map fell to the ground, but remained in one piece. Jack, filled with concern, gently placed his hands on their arms and wondered what he should do.

Finally, the pain went away. Kaz seemed to be coming from a daze.

"Are you ok?" Jack asked them.

"Yeah." Kaz said as they were coming to. Finally, they seemed back to normal. "Did I mention that I'm a Seer?"

"You mean, you get visions of the future?"

"Yes, runs in my Dad's side of the family."

"Well, you did forget." Jack stated, then a thought came to him, "Is it always painful?"

"For a Dragoon it is." Kaz answered, "My Dad's family has been at odds with the Draki for centuries. We curse each other, intermingle, intermarry, try to be better than the other, etc."

Jack found himself wrapping his arms around their waist, "Did they curse your Visions?"

"Yes, and we cursed them back." Kaz answered with a proud smirk as they wrapped their arms around him. "By the way, your eyes are really pretty."

Jack felt himself blush. "Th-thanks." That was completely unexpected.

"You're welcome. They're like perfect rubies." Then they noticed the expression on Jack's face, "I didn't mean to make things awkward, I just, noticed, and wanted to tell you."

"Uh, it's fine." Jack answered. He'd gotten comments on his eyes before, but not like this. No one had genuinely compared his eyes to rubies before. "So... is your map ok?"

"Huh? Oh!" Kaz looked for their map and picked it up. They examined it and turned off the hologram. "It's fine." Then they returned it to their pocket.

"Cool." There was an awkward silence. "So, what do you see?"

Kaz blushed. "Oh, us ruling together."

"I thought you were neutral?" Jack asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I am! But, well, the Xiaolin seem to have an unfair advantage, and I want to level the playing field." Kaz said rather quickly. Then they calmed down a bit, "Also, who said it was this planet?"

Jack felt embarrassed. "Oh! Sorry, I just assumed. Because, you know, I want to rule the world."

"I know, but do you care what the state of the world is like? Do you want to rule over a pile of rubble?"

"W-well, I don't want to rule over a pile of rubble, I would like the world to respect me."

"I can help with that."

Jack was caught off-guard. "Really?"

"Yes. If your fate is to rule, it would be irresponsible of me to not give you any guidance."

"Didn't you say we would rule together?"

"Yes, and I don't want you backstabbing me."

Jack pouted. Making assumptions. Although he likely would.

"I'm not saying you would, but, you never know."

Jack slowly nodded. "Ok."

Kaz smiled, "Now, first thing's first. Those Xiaolin Monks you were telling me about, they seem to have more wins than you."

"Hey, they're really good. I've just, stayed the same."

"Well, I can fix that."

Jacks eyes lit up. "Are you going to give me magic?"

"Maybe. But for now, I was thinking improving your combat skills." Kaz answered, "Afterall, if you can match them on a regular basis, you'll be more likely to win. And therefore, even things out."

Jack thought about it. "Ok. I'm in."

"Sweet!" Kaz replied with a bright smile. "I can come three days a week to train you. I might not be a Master yet, but I'm skilled enough to teach others."

"Ok. Wanna start now?"

"Sure!"

Jack concentrated. It had been two weeks since he agreed the let Kaz train him, and it wasn't what he expected.

They were over practically everyday, training, hanging out, helping Jack with his robots, and being a friend. Sure Jack considered some of his Heylin allies to be friends, but they weren't like Kaz. Kaz would spend time with him simply because they wanted too, and could be very affectionate. With his allies, it was usually because they had no one else to hang out with. Now they all liked each other's company, but there was a difference between spending time with someone because you want to, and spending time with someone because they're the only ones who will.

On this particular day, Jack was mastering a Xiaolin form. Jack was against it at first, but the best way to defeat your enemy, was to know your enemy. And for the curious, Jack was also learning Praying Mantis Kung Fu (as Kaz thought it suited Jack's personality well), hand-to-hand combat, and several unorthadox combat methods.

"Perfect." Kaz said once Jack completed the form.

Jack smiled. For a moment he thought he would never have to do the form again, but then he remembered Kaz's words about a true master doing stuff again and again, no matter how well they know it.

"How about you do it once more then we celebrate?" Kaz suggested.

Jack smiled again. "Ok. Ever been to Italy?"

"Not this Earth's." Kaz answered.

"Well I know this great gelato shop in Venice." Jack said.

Kaz smiled. "I'd like that."

"Great." Jack said. Then he did the form again, and the two jetted off to Venice.
