The Monks gathered around Dojo as he opened the Ancient Scroll of the Shen Gong Wu. "The Pearl of LiBai makes its user's enemies babble poetry nonstop." He announced as the scroll animated a person using a rather large pearl set inside two interlocking metal Vs to make their opponent start babbling.
"In what language?" Ray asked.
"Their native tongue." Dojo answered, "I remember Dashi using it against a jerk who wouldn't stop spreading rumors. They were back to normal in a few days."
"Sheesh." Kimiko replied, "Did they learned their lesson?"
Dojo thought about it. "I think. A day after it wore off, we never saw them again."
"I hope that varmit did learn their lesson." Clay stated, "It ain't right spreading lies."
"I hope so too." Omi agreed, "A lier will get terrible burns."
"It's 'Lier, lier pants on fire'." Clay corrected.
"Same thing." Omi stated with confidence.
After a collective eye-roll, Dojo added, "I remember hiding it in the Alps, near Venice."
A bright smile appeared on Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay's face. "Let's go!" They shouted, and soon the four monks and shape-shifting dragon were off.
After finding a good place to land the jet, Jack and Kaz set off for The Pearl of LiBai. It was a steep climb, so they flew. Jack used his heliopack, and Kaz revealed a beautiful pair of large bat-like wings that they lovingly refereed to as their 2nd set of arms.
"I don't think I'll ever get used to that." Jack remarked as they followed the directions given off by Jack's Shen Gong Wu locator.
"I think you will." Kaz replied with a smile. Jack smiled back, then they looked for The Pearl.
When the monks finally got to the Alps, they saw that Jack Spicer had beaten them. And he had a new ally, one that they had never seen before.
"We can't let them get away!" Raimundo ordered.
"On it!" Dojo replied, then he quickly landed near Jack's jet. In an instant, the Monks quickly rushed towards their frienemy and his new ally.
"I think we've got company." Kaz stated as the two were a few feet from the Pearl. They had extremely sharp hearing.
"Oh great." Jack mumbled. Then he quickened his pace, hoping to beat the monks. Mostly to rub it in their faces. Kaz quickly hid their wings.
As soon as Jack grabbed the Shen Gong Wu, he heard Kimiko shout, "Hold it right there!"
Jack turned and saw the five. He was a bit scared, but he proudly held The Pearl of LiBai and smugly said, "Ha! I got here first, you Xiaolin losers!"
"It's not always first come, first serve, you know." Raimundo stated as the monks prepared to fight.
"So you're the Xiaolin monks I've heard so much about." Kaz interrupted, drawing everyone's attention. Their tone was excited, like meeting a good friend of someone you know, "Jack's told me so much about you," then they neared Dojo and pointed to him, "and you must be the famous Dojo my Grandmother and Great-Grandfather told me so much about!"
"And who's your Grandmother and Great-Grandfather?" Dojo asked.
"And who are you, Ma-si-am-ir?" Clay stuttered. He had no idea if Kaz was a ma'am or sir.
"1. I'm biologically both male and female, and I don't see myself as identifying with either gender. So refer to me as Mx. Cowboy. And if you have a problem with that, then you're proving a bad stereotype about Texans. 2. My full name is Kazumi Alexios Malric-Dragoon, 3rd-in-line for the throne of Remezantine, on the planet Donera in Universe Fay121144, Dimension ANTW."
"Alexios Malric!" Dojo all but screamed. "Universe Fay121144!"
"This makes sense to you?" Raimundo asked the little green dragon as Jack sneakily put the Pearl in his pocket.
"I can't believe it!" Dojo exclaimed, not hearing Rai.
"Isn't Alexios Malric that Heylin Warlord you and Grandmaster Dashi banished to another dimension?" Omi asked.
"Yes. His power could only be rivaled by Chase Young and Hanibal Bean." Dojo answered, then he scratched his chin "If I remember correctly, it's the same one Kazumi's from."
"It is." Kaz joyfully stated, "Alexios was my Great-Great-Grandfather. He mellowed out after he and his family were banished. He stabilized Remezantine, and ruled fairly and justly until his death from old age 15 years ago. Now his oldest son, my Great-Grandfather Cadfan, rules with the same love and respect."
"Cadfan?" Rai asked.
"It means 'Battle Raven'." Kaz replied, "And is a wonderful name."
"It does sound cool." Rai mused, and Kimiko had to agree. Clay did like the sound of it, but he couldn't help but think of cattle.
"Cold or not," Omi loudly stated, "we will not let you get away with this!"
"Yeah." Clay said as they got ready to fight. Clay planned on going after Jack.
"Bring it!" Jack said as he prepared to fight.
Kaz smirked and removed their glasses, morphing their face into a weird yet fascinating cross between human and dragon. Their nose was rather snoutish, and small horns could be seen coming from their head.
"What-the-what?" Rai stammered when he saw this.
"What in tarnation?!" Clay exclaimed.
"When did this become an anime?" Kimiko asked.
There was a twisted joy the two teens got from their shocked expression. Although Jack was still getting used to Kaz's abilities.
"Did I forget to mention?" Kaz asked in a know-it-all voice as they put their glasses away, "I'm half dragon."
"Yes." Omi answered, then he looked between them and Dojo, "How?"
"Long story short," Kaz answered, "my dad, Apollo Zeus Dragoon, one of the co-heirs to Dragoon Castle on the planet Domfran, really lives up to his first and middle names. He's a Fake Dragon, which are basically humaniod dragons, which have very special abilities. For example:" Kaz fluidly moved their arms and grasped the air. Clay suddenly felt his whole body go tense.
"I can't move!" Clay distressingly announced as he tried to fight whatever was controlling him.
With a smirk Kaz stated, "The thing about Noon Sparrow and Night Owl Dragoons, is that we can puppet whoever, whenever."
While the other process this, Kaz moved their body in a fluid-like manner, while they did so, they made Clay fight his friends.
"Watch out!" Clay yelled as his body was puppeted.
The others tried to dodge, but Kaz was making it really hard to not make some moves out of self-defense.
While the monks were thus distracted, Jack went and fought Kimiko. His lessons with Kaz had really paid off. Although Kimiko was a bit distracted because of Clay, she was still a warrior.
Omi, being smart, tried to attack Kaz, but the teen, without taking any concentration away from Clay, put him under a sleep spell.
"Omi!" The monks and Dojo yelled when they saw the yellow-skinned monk fall.
"Relax." Kaz said nonchalantly, "He's just sleeping. He'll be up in an hour or two."
Dojo grabbed Omi's sleeping body and dragged him to a safer spot. He wasn't one for combat, and knowing the Dragoons, didn't want to get involved with this one. So he resigned himself to looking after Omi until he woke up.
As the fighting raged on, Jack proved to be a great fighter. Sure he had had his moments before, but this time, he was actually equal to the monks. Never had the monks directly fought Jack for more than 30 minutes without them gaining the upper hand. During this battle, they remained more-or-less, equal.
Once Kaz grew tired of controlling Clay, they released him. Unfortunately, they made him fall on Rai. At the same time, Jack managed to trip Kimiko, making her fall to the ground. By the time she could get up, Kaz and Jack had already fled.
"They're gone!" Kimiko yelled in frustration.
"Aw man!" Rai complained as Clay began testing his limbs.
"Hey, I can control my body again." Clay remarked.
"Great. Now get off me." Rai replied.
"Sorry Pardner." Clay said, then slowly got off him.
"I can't believe they got away!" Kimiko yelled.
"And without a Showdown." Rai added.
"I agree." Clay added, "And given how easily... Kazumi took control of me, I don't know what would happen if we were in a Showdown."
"They're a Dragoon." Dojo stated, "They're known for being all about fairness. Unless a Draki's involved."
"Then why were they on Jack's side?" Kimiko asked as Omi was coming to.
"Maybe because he loses so much?" Dojo answered with a shrug.
"True." Kimi mused.
Omi bolted upright. He looked around, but found Jack and Kaz gone. "What happened? Did we win?"
Everyone shook their heads, then told Omi what happened.
"Hmm, I'm impressed." Chase Young mused after watching the fight through his Crystal Eyeball.
"You? Impressed?" Wuya asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Spicer managed to defeat the monks without getting week once. And his companion," Chase stroked his chin, "very impressive."
"I doubt they'd want to join you." Wuya remarked.
"Oh, I have my ways." Chase smirked, "But, perhaps we should see what they can make of Jack Spicer."
"A heart-broken fool." Wuya coldly stated. "Kaz is only helping him because things are tipped in the Monk's favor. As soon as things become balanced, they'll dump him. And he'll be a sobbing mess. Like when Charles dumped him for that opera singer."
Chase stared at the witch. Although she would never admit it, she had grown to care for Jack like a bossy, arrogant, older sister. Or Aunt who was stuck watching him while his parents were away. Which was often.
"And would you go after them like you did Charles?"
"Of course!" Wuya exclaimed, "Jack's enough of a disappointment without being crippled by heartbreak."
Chase gave a slight smile. Then he turned his thoughts to Kaz, and the improving Jack Spicer.
"I can't believe we won!" Jack exclaimed as he and Kaz flew back to his house.
"What I'd tell ya!" Kaz joyfully replied, "All you need is practice and confidence."
"And you." Jack added, "There's no way I would've won if I had to fight all of them."
"Well your training isn't complete." Kaz playfully reminded him.
"Yeah." Jack replied. "You know, I'm torn between wanting to practice more and just chilling for the night."
"Well it is my day off." Kaz smirked. Then they pulled out a coin. "Heads practice, tails chilling."
Jack smiled. Silently giving his friend the go ahead. Kaz flipped the coin in the air, careful as to make it not fall with the wind. It landed on tails.
"Guess we're chilling." Kaz stated, "And I have the perfect idea."
Jack smiled. Kaz always had the best ideas. They seemed almost perfect.
