Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Soulless Soulmates. Enjoy the 2200-word chapter. I don't own FNAF, Scott and a few others do.
Jackson was quiet. He was… Unsure of what was going on. He felt alive… So, there was that. However? He didn't know what was considered alive at the moment.
He flexed the blue claws which tipped his hands. This body was new, it felt powerful. Still? He made no moves with the new body he had. He didn't even know if it counted as a second chance considering his failure.
"I'm going to check on the band in parts and service." He heard and shook his head. "Huh, Jackson's charge is up." The staff stated to which the possessed animatronic was silent.
He felt some form of power washing over his chassis. It felt odd for a former human. Jackson slowly stepped out of the charging station while he opened his optics.
"Alright, Hudson. Follow me," Jackson heard while he slowly followed the man. "I'm sad they took out the Mangle line." Jackson heard to which the animatronic was silent for a second.
'Mangle Line?' Did they build more animatronics since then? I don't think I should be surprised. They built this one I'm using after all.' Jackson thought before he was silent.
The lumbering animatronic slowly followed behind the staff. He looked around as he did so, trying to find a view of his new body. It was so weird to be looking around almost nothing, but he was curious about his new appearance when it came down to it. He didn't know what to do.
"Isn't someone already in parts and services?" Jackson asked to which the man blinked. "Just asking," Jackson said while he shook his head.
One thing Jackson noticed easily at this moment? He had a few inches on the man. The animatronics had always been taller than humans, but now they seemed to dwarf people easily. It was something he'd keep in mind.
"Uh. I don't know." The man stated to which Jackson rolled his optics at this exchange. "Oh, right. Roxanne is in there. They're putting in her new eyes at the moment." The man said as Jackson raised an eyebrow.
"Roxanne?" Jackson asked while he raised an eyebrow before humming to himself. "Then we should wait until she comes out?" Jackson added before he shook his head while he nodded to himself.
"Um, ok," Jackson said while he shook his head as he hung his head.
The staff moved him to the door while he started to think of what to say or do. He was rather scared before this had come to pass when it came down to it. The animatronic had looked through the glass onto the room where the animatronic looked at the other animatronic.
It was a wolf. One who seemed slightly taller than he had been. Their mane of snow-white hair faded into a green forelock. They had painted purple lipstick onto the bot which wore purple leg warmers as well as a crimson shirt with a star on it. Her nails were also painted a deep purple. Jackson was surprised at how much the machine seemed so human.
'If she looks like that? How do I look at the moment?' Jackson mentally questioned himself as the haunted machine stared with interest.
The door slid open as the staff slowly entered the room with Jackson following behind the man. He stood behind the man as he went to talk to the tech staff as he did so. He was almost curious how they had worked on the machines.
"Hey, Jackson needs his new legs put in soon." The man said as he looked at the android behind him. "Why does he need his new legs, again?" He asked before the man silently turned.
"Because it's meant to allow him to speed around the pizzeria." He said as he gazed at the machine in question. "It's meant for the speed and precision. Jackson is meant to be the band's drummer, remember?" The man asked as he crossed his arms and started to finish up his work on the controls.
"Hey, finish up. We got another animatronic that needs to be upgraded." Jacky heard while he started to blink. "Hmm…" He heard as he started to frown.
The possessed animatronic had some odd feelings inside his chassis. This was more or the less the same as a routine checkup when it came down to it… But it felt odd.
The doors opened and both the man and Roxy exited. It was then he realized he was indeed shorter than the wolf animatronic. His head only came up to her shoulders.
"Is that Jackson the Jackal?" The tech stated before Roxy tilted her head.
"Aren't you the drummer?" Jackson heard as he looked at the wolf.
"Y-Yes," Jackson said which caused the tech to look at him with a frown.
"I think his voice box might be glitching. That doesn't sound right." They heard as the other tech rolled his eyes.
"They put personality chips in them, didn't you get the memo?" The other tech stated while he crossed his arms. "Freddy is the nice leader of the band; Chica is the silly and happy guitarist… Roxanne is supposed to be tough and has an attitude." The tech started to which Roxy rolled her eyes at the statement.
Jackson chuckled to himself which made Roxy look at him as she raised an eyebrow. She raised a metallic eyebrow at her bandmate who seemed far more relaxed than he appeared to be.
She gave a scan towards him. Her eyes flashed from a deep yellow to a dark cyan like his. She, Monty, and Jackson were part of a new line of animatronics. She took in his appearance as the two animatronics were ignored by the human staff.
Jackson was similar to her slightly, but the differences were still there. Jackson was dressed in a blue 'shirt' which had a sun which was surrounded by stars on it. He also had black pants which had lines training behind rocket ships. He also has darkish black fur on his top half with some small shades of red. His claws were also a deep yellow.
'Right, management wants him to be the mascot of the laser tag area since Freddy is already in charge of the pizzeria.' Roxy thought to herself while she looked at the animatronic drummer.
"Aren't you the dorky one who's very easy going?" Roxy asked bluntly as the animatronic nodded. "Heh, should be nice after parts and service are done with you. These new eyes are going to come in handy." Roxy added before she crossed her arms.
"Speaking of that? Wasn't Bonnie's new leg servos supposed to come in?" One of the techs asked before the other nodded.
"They're coming in today alongside Foxy's new hook and ears." The other tech stated before he rolled his eyes. "We need to get Jackson's legs installed in today. He and Roxy need to do a soundcheck, remember? We need to do it before management fires us." The tech stated which caused Roxy to raise an eyebrow.
"Yeah, make it snappy, Jackie," Roxy said while the canine animatronic as he raised an eyebrow. "Hey, that's better than Jackson. Jackson sounds weird for a rockstar." Roxy added to which Jackson cleared his throat.
"That does kinda send better," Jackie stated while he tilted his head. "Your name is from a band, you know. There's a band that wrote a song which is called 'Roxanne'." Jackie added to which Roxy tilted her head.
'There is? Wait, there is? Hmm?' Roxy mentally thought as she started to wirelessly research the word.
There was a mental click as the network ran a search and returned the results to the android wolf. There were indeed at least 2 songs that were named after her, one of which was a band within the 70s, the era they were built to mimic and were modeled after her.
'Huh, I wonder if any of the others are named after that. It's cool! That's so cool!' Roxy thought before she blinked.
She turned to see that they had taken Jackson into the room to be worked on. The machine was offline as they started to work on him. She didn't hear many footsteps which meant one of the staff had probably pulled him into the chamber.
"C'mon, Roxanne." The staff said as Roxy turned to look at the android which she frowned at before the tech dragged her out.
Roxy said nothing while she started to slowly walk towards the stage where they waited. She glanced at the man who tugged her forward with annoyance.
Jackson watched as they placed him on the table. It still felt like a simple trip to the doctors… Maybe to the animatronics? It was, it was still somewhat of a weird concept to him… Then again? It probably felt odd to him at any rate, and he still wasn't fully aware of his surroundings.
The machine was set down on the table as they seemed to want to tap a few keys on the computer. He felt his body go limp as he slipped into some sort of limbo.
(Inside Jackson's mind)
He felt… Odd as they started to work on him. His body felt like it had been replaced, not granted a new lift. His mind felt less like it had been before and more like it had been remade.
'What is this body anyway?' Jackson mentally while he cleared his throat.
He rolled his eyes as he realized that he was asking something stupid. He was in the body of a machine. He was not human anymore… And yet? Some part of his mind seemed to persist in this new body.
He almost felt like laughing if it didn't burn mentally. It felt like he was floating in a pool of water, yet he was constantly fighting to not drown.
'Failures don't get happy endings, Brady.' He heard as he gazed over his shoulder at the voice.
"Who…?" Jackson asked the mental voice inside his head. "What?" Jackson said before the monster behind the words slowly appeared.
It was the man who had done this to him. The sociopathic creature from hell that had slowly pulled itself up. Accept it wasn't at the same time.
What he saw was a machine of metal and flesh mixed in the way a beast from the depths would feel. It was as if Afton had been mixed with the machines who he used to kill any of his enemies. It looked like a rabbit, but there were bits of suit torn away as if hell had torn off his human façade. It made him wonder if this man was at any point human.
"Afton…" Jackson growled with a wave of anger that sounded more inhuman than possible. "What the hell are you doing here?" Jackson added while he cleared his throat.
'I died. Just. Like. YOU.' Afton hissed out with his optic-like eyes glowing with purple power. 'And this is what happened after it. I told you even if I died. I'd come back.' Afton stated with a smirk.
It didn't look human at all. This man was not human anymore. He hadn't been in any form. Jackson watched the monster slowly lumber forward like a ghost. He was indeed happy to see that this creature had shuffled off the mortal coil, but he was back like him.
'What does he mean? Am I going crazy or something? He stabbed me and now he said he came back?' Jackson stated before he cleared his throat.
The monster slowly started to slink back into the shadows as if he was part of them. He spread his mouth wide, his human teeth pressing against the edges of his mouth.
It seemed even in death that Afton was a monster to the end. His mechanical maw started to move one last time.
"It's time for another game," Afton stated before he slowly vanished into the darkness. "I'm wondering if you're ready," Afton started to say before the shadows swallowed him entirely.
Jackson was left to ponder what had happened before a jolt of energy slammed into his frame, knocking him to the ground.
(Parts and Service)
"They're systems are rebooting. I think I accidentally hit one of the main wires." Jackie heard as he slowly raised his head. "There's plenty of other endos that we can use if one of them breaks down like this. Get him sealed back up." Jackie heard as he clenched his fists.
He felt pain lance up his arms. He blinked to himself before slowly starting to stand to his feet.
'Was that real?' He asked.
