Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Soulless Soulmates. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own FNAF, Scott and a few others do.
Freddy turned to the sounds of footsteps. He listened to each footstep that signaled the arrival of his friends and fellow bandmates. He was first greeted by Chica who instead of her trademark yellow chicken appearance? Now looked like a white sleek 70s rockstar.
"Hey, Freddy!" Chica said as she skipped across the room towards her guitar. "Where is everyone?" Chica asked as she tilted her head to the side.
Freddy was about to speak before another familiar set of footsteps his ears had already recorded… The steps of Bonnie, his friend and one who was more or less a brother in his mind.
The bunny was as tall as he was with ears that had crimson lines that ran up and down them. He also had a pair of crimson glasses that covered his indigo eyes which were also copied from his older versions. He also wore a bowler's shirt with a purple jacket with a star similar to Roxy's emblazoned on it. there was also the fact that the bunny also wore bowling shoes Which were a similar color to his jacket. He was had a few crimson lines which were painted on his cheeks.
"Freddy!" Bonnie stated while he cleared his throat and started to think as he shook his head. "Ow. Hurt my ears… Forgot my ears were sensitive similar to Roxy's." Bonnie said before Freddy chuckled to himself.
He looked around the room with interest. There were another 2-animatronics missing from this room. He scanned the spots where 2 more bandmates were missing. He cleared his own throat before he rubbed at his ears and started to wonder where Roxy and Jackson were at the moment.
Both robots were supposed to be here. He was about to ask before the sounds of speaking could be heard.
"Why don't they have the race track open? Ugh…" Freddy heard as he looked across the room to notice Roxy standing on the upper levels. "Sup, Fred?" Roxy said before the animatronic wolf slowly started the walk down to the stage.
"Because of the damages? Maybe?" Freddy also heard as Jackson slowly appeared beside his fellow bandmate. "There's a lot of construction going on," Jackson said as the duo slowly started to march towards the stage.
"It's still pretty annoying," Roxy said as her robotic eyes rolled in their glass sockets. "Sorry, Fred. The staff didn't have clearance… So, freaking weird." Roxy said while she crossed her arms.
Freddy almost wondered why the staff was so busy. They had not been opened for more than a few days. The only 2 places that were open at the moment were Jackson's laser tag and Mazercize.
Then again? They were constantly at work with making both the animatronics and the building were ready. His databanks were always updated with new information as were theirs on this.
Jackie clicked his claws together as he cracked his robotic jaw. Roxy looked around and cracked her fingers with a cybernetic whirl. Both androids were also well aware of the fact that their instruments were heavily reliant on their hands.
"Um… May you both hurry? They wish to see us perform to check if we are ready for the show." Freddy said before Roxy shrugged.
She leaped the railing in front of her with a pounce similar to a real wolf as the android wolf slammed into the ground. Freddy winced as the animatronic wolf straightened up before she sprinted towards the stage. Jackson vaulted the railing as the jackal landed in a crouch, the weight of both machines cracking the floor.
"Um… Never mind what I said." Freddy said as he realized both had damaged the floor. "How are either of you? I hope parts and service were not too rough." Freddy started to say before he looked at the ceiling above.
Both animatronics leaped onto the stage. Freddy watched as both animatronics slowly took their assigned spots. Freddy watched as both robots raised an eyebrow at their bandmates before slowly falling into position.
Freddy did not scold them. He did not raise his voice towards either of them who did not do anything wrong. He was well aware of the fact that neither meant to do anything that was honestly wrong in either way shape or form. He was not an idiot when it came to things along those lines.
"Hey, Roxy!" Chica yelled which made the animatronic wolf raise an eyebrow towards her. "I can't wait to try out this new voice box they put inside me. What did they give you guys?" Chica asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Uh. New legs." Jackie stated while he shook his head. "There's plenty of things they placed in us. That… Came out wrong." Jackie stated while he shook his head.
"Way to be a dork, Jackie," Roxy stated before she raised an eyebrow. "Are we going to rock or…?" Roxy asked before she looked towards Freddy and sighed.
There was something off in her mind… It didn't feel as awesome as she expected. Then again? This was both their first time as a band, and it was simply testing their skills and bodies rather than a reality show. There wasn't as much pressure on this compared to what they were used to.
"Why are these drumsticks so tiny in my hands?" Jackie asked while he struggled to raise them into the air. "This is weird, isn't it?" Jackie asked as he raised an eyebrow towards his bandmates who all had simple expressions.
Freddy almost wondered if they were ready for this. He ran through the databanks of information on his bandmates neither was acting out. It was… Precautions for the nightmares their company had been privy to at the moment.
Chica was acting as cheerful as she seemed to have been and was as energetic as they had made her be.
Bonnie was as laid back as he had been when they activated him at the moment. He was slightly tired, but that seemed to be from being online for only 30 minutes… And each of them only lasted 60 before their backup power started to kick in.
Roxy seemed rather bored which made sense since she was meant only to be more energetic with the crowd around them. It wasn't like this was an important show and nobody seemed to care that this was a training course rather than anything else.
Jackie seemed nervous, but from his interaction with Roxy? Seemed as friendly and helpful as ever.
"Fred?" Bonnie asked as he lifted his bass. "We kinda need to get the practice done and over?" Bonnie said as Jackie looked up.
"Yeah. These drumsticks are tiny. I feel like I'm going to snap them in half." Jackie said while he frowned. "Uh. I'm ready. Chika, Rox?" Jackie asked as both of them started to nod.
"I'm waiting for Freddy to start singing," Roxy said, running a clawed finger down the keytar as a descending note slowly forced itself from the instrument. "Did they tune these things at all? It sounds… Weird." Roxy said as she started to tap the keys on said synthesizer instrument.
"Did they cheap out on our gear?" Bonnie asked to which the drummer and keytar players raised their shoulders in a shrug. "Well. Guess we deal with that down the road. How about we start? Fred only has to read a few lines so…" Bonnie said as Jackie slowly started to lift his arms.
The animatronic jackal started to drum. Each hit of the percussion instrument seemed to sound like a cannon blast which made Roxy snort as she realized that the staff hadn't expected them to perform as well as they were.
Chica joined a moment later with a few strings being pulled each second. Roxy started to blast notes a minute later as Jackie snorted as well.
"Did we wait for me to start? That's kinda weird." Jackie said before Roxy spun on her heel towards her friend.
"This is from the dork who didn't know where the stage is," Roxy said as her muzzle shifted into a smirk. "Not bad beat, either. How are the chopsticks you're holding?" Roxy asked while she raised an eyebrow towards her friend.
He said nothing, but the smirk on his face told her that he was enjoying the compliment. She smirked when she realized they had something in common at the moment. There was plenty of time for them to talk when this was done and over with.
There were no words said between the duo as the band started to play.
(30 minutes later)
Jackie bit back a curse in annoyance as he gazed at the almost broken drumsticks. It had made him more annoyed than it seemed possible. Their drumsticks were worn down more than they had been 20 minutes ago.
They were rather cheap on certain things when it came down to it. There shouldn't have been any surprises when it came to this topic. Part of him only rolled his eyes as he blinked.
"Well, guys? I'm going to hit the hay." Chica said before the others looked at her. "The recharge stations? I'm low on power." Chica said to which they nodded.
"Well. I haven't recharged in a while either." Jackie said before his joints cracked. "Ow," Jackie said before he sighed to himself.
Roxy rolled her eyes and snickered as Jackie looked at his bandmate.
"Nice, R-Roxy. Great now my v-voice box is glitching and I'm s-stuttering more than I should." Jackie said as he frowned to himself.
"Why don't we all take a break?" Freddie asked as the others nodded and slowly started to leave. "There's been plenty of practice and tomorrow will be the grand opening," Freddie said before Roxy sighed.
"And there's still not close to opening Roxy Racing," Roxy said as her nails scrapped along with the chair next to her.
"If it helps?" Jackie asked from the drums. "They still haven't set the laser tag up properly. The lasers keep shorting out after a few blasts." Jackie said while he placed a hand on his snout.
The two canine animatronics rolled their eyes at how their home had been treated before Freddy cleared his throat. both of them spun in place towards him as he blinked and started to speak once more.
"Don't blame the staff. They are doing their best." Freddy said before Roxy frowned.
"Just saying. SO much of the pizzaplex isn't finished yet." Roxy said before she pointed to her face. "I want to see how cool I look and they took an hour to put my new eyes in. It took them an hour and a half for them to upgrade Jackie, Fred." Roxy said before she leaped off the stage.
"Rox? I don't know if they put the charger in my room yet. There any others that don't need to be used?" Jackie asked. "If it's ok… I mean." Jackie said to which Roxy sighed as she wondered how long it would be before they opened.
She gave a salute to Freddy before she motioned for the jackal to follow her. Freddy watched as the pair climbed the escalators and vanished into the depths of the building.
It made him happy to know both had been able to bond when it came down to it.
Little did he know there was familiar darkness coming to their home. One which wanted nothing more than to drag into the darkness once more.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter is done! I apologize if this chapter is too short or still has some errors. I don't want people to wait too long. I'm also going to ask if you think Roxy or Freddy should be controlled. The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show the start of the game and some more of the bonding. Until the 900–6500-word chapter, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Should I keep Bonnie in the story? I also have some old animatronics and a few new ones for the story planned. Let me know. The next chapter should be longer.
