Near the Beach House, Lapis and Steven were laying together, sitting against the rocky wall near the Temple, reading a book together with one of their hands holding one side each of the book, allowing them to read together. "This is a nice idea Steven." He nodded in agreement with a smile.
"Thanks Lapis. It just felt like a good time to read a book without any rain to ruin it." Lapis smiled at him before they continued reading, but as they did that, Steven began to feel a little dry to the mouth and hummed before asking. "I think I'm going to go inside and get some juice. Want to share it when I get back?"
Lapis thought for a moment and smiled. "Sure. That sounds good." While telling him she closed the book after putting the bookmark in before placing it to the side as she watched Steven happily head up the stairs to go inside of the Beach House while she looks out at the ocean, waiting for his return.
Meanwhile
As Steven enters the Beach House, he noticed Blue, Violet, Anaya, and some of the others talking to one another as he greeted them in his joyful tone. "Hi guys!" Pearl, Yellow, Onyx, and the rest noticed him and began to greet back. "Hey/Hi Steven." After the greeting, Soren asked curiously.
"How's everything going out there with Lapis?"
Steven tells them as he heads over to the kitchen. "It's going good. We managed to read through half of the book we have outside together. Right now I'm getting a juice box for the both of us to share." As he told them he then opened the fridge and began to reach in taking out a Durian Juice Box before closing the door, heading back to the front door as while going Pearl told him with a worried look.
"Becareful out there Steven, there's been strange earthquakes happening recently." After telling him he looked back and nodded. "I will." After telling her and the others he then headed outside closing the door behind him, after doing that the Gems were beginning to talk to one another again, but before continuing a earthquake, in which Pearl mentioned has been happening recently began.
As they began to stumble a bit or stand their grounds the earthquake soon stopped as they looked at one another as Amethyst asked. "Uh guys, are you sure the earthquakes won't cause any harm to Beach City?" Pink Pearl and Soren looked at their leader with a questioned look as Pearl told them.
"I'm sure everyone will be fine. As long as the earthquakes don't become more active we won't have to worry about anyone being harmed."
Meanwhile
As Steven headed towards Lapis he smiled at her as she noticed him and said happily. "You're back." After saying that the two soon began to feel the Earthquake as well, making Steven stumble as he noticed large rocks beginning to fall from the rocky wall down towards Lapis, making Steven to gasp in shock and run towards Lapis, dropping the juice box as he shouted.
"Lapis watch out!" As he said that he then rammed into Lapis by mistake, causing his Gem to surpringly glow pink, causing a large transparent pink bubble to form around them, making them float before landing on the floor of the bubble as the rocks above them landed right on top of them, but shattered into peices when they made contact to the bubble.
After that happened, the two began to get up, looking confused and surprised by the pink bubble around them as Lapis asked confused. "Steven, what just happened?" He shook his head.
"I don't know? …I think this is a new power."
After telling her as they looked around as Lapis gave a small smile and looked at him, telling him. "It looked like it saved us from the falling boulders and rocks." Steven noticed it did when they saw the broken peices of rocky earth around them, he then gave a smile too.
"Cool. I think it's time for it to go now." After telling Lapis he then held his arms out waiting for the bubble to disappear or dissolve, but nothing happened, after a few seconds, Steven looked around and noticed it was still around them as Steven asked. "Uh...Why isn't it going away?"
Lapis hummed and explained. "Maybe because it's new?" He looked around before looking at the Beach House. "We should go and ask for help from the Gems." After telling Lapis she smiled. "That sounds like a good idea." The two of them then began to roll their way towards the Beach House, but were unable to go up due to the small sandhill, unable to go up. "Awww what? Hey guys! Pearl! Help!"
"I think they can't hear us?" Steven looked at Lapis worriedly as she asked. "Could we...Just wait here until they come out or..." Steven thought for a moment before telling her. "Or...We could try to pop the bubble. We've got friends that can help. Let's go." After telling they then began to roll towards Beach City to get help from those they know.
Later
In front of the Big Donut, Sadie and Lars were in front with Steven and Lapis as Sadie's attempting to break the bubble with a hammer, while Lars was laughing away seeing the situation the two are in. "BWAHAHAH! Way to go, Steven! Is this your magic love bubble or something? Did you make it because you're in looove?" As he asked while pressing his face against the bubble making kissy faces before Sadie interrupted him.
"Lars, quit being a jerk and help!" He looked back and told her. "What? I'm helping Steven on his date." Sadie tells him. "You're embarrassing them!" Lars argued back. "No, I'm not!" Sadie says to him. "Yes, you are!"
As their argument becomes low, Steven and Lapis watched on from the bubble as Lapis asked Steven curiously. "Don't they ever get along?" Sadie and Lars continue arguing which the two watched as Sadie pushes Lars. "I think they're crazy about each other." Steven told Lapis who hummed as they continued to watch before Sadie told them while heading inside the Big Donut.
"I'm gonna go try something else!"
Once inside, the three began to stay silent for a moment looking at the entrance of the Big Donut before Lapis asked curiously as she can see a bit from the inside of the establishment. "What is she getting?" Steven peered a bit before telling her. "I think...Wait isn't that...?"
"AHHH!" Before he finished Sadie shouted as she ran out from the Big Donut and hits bubble with stool, breaking it to peices which left the four looking down at it before Steven nervously chuckled and told Lapis with a smile. "I have a better idea."
Later
At the Beach City Pier Steven and Lapis rolled their way onto the docks, while they did, Lapis asked curiously. "Why did we come here?" Steven tells her with a smile. "I had a feeling there might be something here that could help us pop this bubble. And that there could be someone here to help us with it."
"Like who?" When Lapis asked, giving a small smile the two soon noticed Onion walking pass them holding a box of popcorn as Steven shouts. "Oh hey, Onion, Onion!" Onion hears him and soon stops, giving a wave to them. "We need a Harpoon Gun!"
Steven asked which confused Lapis. "Harpoon Gun?" Steven tells her while pointing at the Harpoon Gun. "It's that thing right there. We can use it to pop the bubble." Understanding that, Steven began to call out for Onion again. "We need a Harpoon Gun!" He then told Onion slowly.
"HAR-POON-GUUUN!"
Onion eats the popcorn heedlessly, not hearing well of what Steven asked as Steven took a different approach and breathes on the bubble, creating fog where he attempts to draw a Harpoon Gun hitting the bubble. "Haar-pooon-Guuun..." When he finished, Onion just continued eating. "Ugh!" Steven facepalms before Lapis has an idea and tells him.
"Wait, let me try." She said with a smile as she spells out, "Harpoon Gun", on the bubble backwards for Onion to read, seeing this Onion gave a thumbs up and runs off as Steven looks at Lapis impressed as she told him. "It just made more sense."
They both then heard a blown boat horn at the helm of a Harpoon Gun, making them look and see Onion there, aiming the Harpoon Gun at the bubble causing them to quickly move out from the middle as Onion shoots at the bubble, making the Harpoon deflect and hit a boat, sinking it as he gave a thumbs up.
Later
"What are we doing here?" When Lapis asked as she was looking at the FunLand sign, Steven smiled and told her as they roll inside. "Tons of horrible accidents happen here everyday! There's gotta be something to break this bubble." As he told her, she looked forward and caught something from the corner of her eye and peered as she asked. "Hey Steven isn't that Anaya, Blue Pearl, and Violet Pearl?"
Steven hummed and looked, seeing that Lapis is right, making him smile as he said. "It is. Maybe they can help us." After telling her they then began to make their way towards the three. "Hey guys, over here!" Steven shouted in hopes the three will notice them, in which they did as Violet Pearl said. "Hey that's Steven and Lapis." The two looked as well as Anaya asked curiously.
"Why are they in a pink bubble?" When the two made it to the three Steven greeted. "Hi Anaya, Violet, Blue Pearl. We need your help." After telling them the three began to examine them as Blue told them. "We're going to guess it involves the bubble, correct?"
The two nodded as Lapis told them. "We're trying to find a way to pop it so we can get out." Steven then tells them. "We just gotta find the right ride here." After telling them, they began to look around, wondering what ride to use to help Steven and Lapis be freed as Anaya noticed and pointed with a smile at the kiddie roller coaster. "Maybe that could work?" Steven and Lapis looked and smiled too as Steven said.
"Yeah, the kiddie coaster!"
He and Lapis began to roll their way to the kiddie coaster as Anaya, Blue Pearl, Violet Pearl followed them as Steven said while he and Lapis stop in front of the tracks. "Alright, we just roll down this ramp as the carts are coming at us, and the crash will break us free!" Lapis began to think of this before telling him.
"Wait, what happens after the bubble pops?" When she asked Steven told her happily. "We'll be free!" There was a short pause as the 5 stood silent for the moment before Anaya told them while scratching the back of her head. "I'm starting think that's a..." Before she finished a monster roar is heard, creating another Earthquake.
This causes the two in the bubble to stumble and roll forward into the tracks as Steven said. "Whaaa-This will work!" Once he said that the Kiddie Carts hit them pushing them in opposite direction, in which Mr. Smiley noticed in shock and quickly hits the emergency break causing bubble to fly off the track and into the ocean leaving everyone, including Anaya, Blue Pearl, Violet Pearl to look in shock.
Meanwhile
As the bubble hit's the top of the ocean it then began to sink, bringing Lapis and Steven down to the ocean floor. "Are we at the bottom of the ocean?" When Lapis asked curiously looking around themselves, Steven did the same. "I think so, we're surrounded by water." He then realized and said with a smile.
"Lapis, can you be able to control the water?"
When he asked, Lapis began to make her Gem glow while trying her best to move the water around them, only to exhale after trying as she shook her head. "No...The bubble has to be preventing me from using my powers." After telling him he then asked curiously. "Are we even close to the shore?"
"I don't know...But we should start rolling." Steven nodded as they began to roll. "It's a good thing this bubble is air tight, otherwise the bubble wouldn't be movable anymore." He laughs nervously. "Don't worry Lapis, I think I have an idea that will definitely work, when we get back-"
Before he finished they both stood silent and saw what looked to be a Worm Monster swim above them making Steven say shocked. "A huge worm! It's okay, look. It only wants to eat that bright stuff. Not scary at all." He said to Lapis and himself as they watched the Corruption eat the bright red seaweed before roaring, revealing it's Gem as it begins burrowing under ground, causing a crevice to open up directly under them, making them sink deeper.
Meanwhile
At the deeper depths of the ocean, Lapis and Steven managed to hit the bottom, once there, they began to look around seeing themselves surrounded by rock walls with no way out of the area now. "This is not good..." Steven said worriedly as Lapis agreed. "There's no where else to go now." After telling him Steven then told her.
"Don't worry Lapis. I'm sure we can find a way out, we-we just have too..." Before he finished Lapis then told him. "Steven." He stopped and soon looked at Lapis with a worried look who did the same too. "Please, we have to stop now. There's nothing else we can do. We're trapped."
They looked up seeing only the light coming from the sky above the water but as they did Steven then told Lapis worriedly as he looked up. "But there has to be a way out." Lapis then said. "There is, but the bubble's not going to let us go up and escape. We just need to find a way to get out of here." After telling him, Steven began to look up before they both began staying silent for a moment, while silent Steven had an idea said.
"Lapis."
She began to look up at him as he told her while digging into one of his pockets. "In case we never get out, I want you to have something I've been wanting to give you for tonight." As he told her he then took out what looked to be two glowsticks, letting Lapis look at it in amazement as she asked curiously.
"What is it?" Steven smiled and told her. "They're glowsticks." As he told her he then took them out of the wrapper they were in, revealing them both to be in the shape of hearts as he continued. "They're in the shapes of half hearts." He then snaps them, making the chemicals inside the glowsticks mix before shaking it, making them both glow, one was blue and the other was pink, both with a string connected to the top of them.
Soon after, Steven then began handing Lapis the pink one telling her. "They both resemble us by our colors." As Lapis grabbed the pink one and looked at it amazed, Steven began to tell her as they put them around their necks. "The pink ones for you, to remember me. And the blue ones for me, to remember you. Also look." After tell her he then held his half out which Lapis did the same, showing their glowsticks make a single heart.
"If we put them together they'll become a full heart." Lapis began blushing blue before saying as she looked at him. "Like our love." Steven smiled and nodded as after doing that the two then leaned forward and began to kiss, embracing one another passionately, but soon after, a large pop interrupts them, causing them to look around, before soon realizing the bubble had popped, causing them to smile as they began to head up out of the ocean water.
The Surface
"Steven? Lapis?" Anaya shouted as she and her Gf's Blue and Violet search for the two on the beach near the ocean and FunLand Pier, but seconds after calling their names, Steven and Lapis soon came up to the surface of the ocean and began to swim to shore, where they managed to stand up at as the three ran to them worriedly.
Once they made it to them, Blue asked. "Are you two ok?" Waiting for an answer Lapis told them, giving a smile. "We're ok." Steven then said while pointing a finger up. "Also we may have found out who was causing the Earthquakes." After saying that, the same large worm Corruption bursts from the water, giving out it's large roar before heading towards them, causing the 5 to run.
Under the Pier of FunLand
"Come on everyone, come on!"
Anaya said as they run, but while they did she told them. "We need to act fast, Lapis, Steven, hide in the rocks, if we manage to stop it, you'll both be able to attack it before it gets the chance to attack!" After telling them the two nodded and climbed over the rocks but as they did, the monster bursts past the rocks, chasing after the two, leaving, the three confused for the moment before they chased after it, while Steven and Lapis run Steven asked.
"Why is it chasing us?!" He then noticed the Glow in the Dark half-heart he gave Lapis and said. "The hearts! It likes to eats bright stuff. Lapis!" She looked at him and asked. "Yeah?!" He then told her. "It's after us for the Glow in the Dark hearts. I think I know how we can beat it! Follow me!" Lapis nodded and followed him as the Monster pursues them.
While running the two zigzag around the pillars of the pier, causing the monster to wrap around itself, immobilizing it along the way with Anaya, Blue Pearl, Violet Pearl noticing this and exiting the pier before seeing Lapis and Steven come out next as the Corruption came out to take a bite of them, but was unable to due to it being tangled, the Corruption struggles to break free before the pillars break causing the pier to collapse on the monster before it poofed back into it's Gem.
"We...We did it." Steven, almost out of breath from the running they all did as while now relaxing they began to hear what sounded like the other Gems as Pearl's voice was heard in the distance. "It came from over here!"
As she appeared, Yellow, Onyx, Soren, Pink, Amethyst did as well noticing the 5 as Steven waved to them. "Hi guys!" When greeted the 6 began to go over to them as Pearl asked worriedly. "Is everyone ok? We came here as soon we heard the pier collapse." While her husband bubbles and sends the Corruption Gems to the Temple Steven smiled and told her.
"We're ok Pearl. We even took down the Corruption that was causing the earthquakes." Pearl signed in relief and smiled at him. "It's good to hear you're all ok." After telling them that Steven looked at Lapis and the others. "Should we head home?" Lapis looked over at the pier along with the others before she looked back and told him. "It's best we do." After that they began to leave the area.
Morning
After the events of what happened yesterday, Anaya, Blue Pearl, Violet Pearl decided they should take a nice break for the day as they began it with a picnic outside on the beach, once they've placed the picnic blanket on the floor before putting the basket on top, the three started to sit down together, as they did Blue Pearl said with a smile.
"It was a good idea to have a picnic on the beach Anaya." She smiled hearing that, telling them while she takes out a couple of snacks and soda drinks for them to have. "Thank you Blue Pearl. I thought it'd be a good idea for us to take a break after what happened yesterday." The two Pearl's nodded with a smile as they began to lay close to each other while enjoying the view of the ocean and sunlight together.
