On the Beach, both Soren and Amethyst along with Steven and Lapis were playing checkers 2 vs. 2 as Pink Pearl was perched on a lifeguard chair, pelting them with water balloons if they lose as Amethyst concentrates since it's her turn. She smiled and puts her piece forward. "Ha, take that!"

"Whoa!" Steven said amazed and told them. "That was a good move." He and Lapis were then pelted by a water balloon. "Now it's your move, Lapis." The Blue Gem looked over at Steven and asked curiously with a smile. "Are the water balloons really necessary?" Steven nodded. "Yeah, this way the moves really matter. Plus it's fun!"

He said happily as Lapis said with a small grin. "It is fun." After telling him Amethyst and Soren then taunted. "Come on guys it's your move." Soren agreed. "Yeah, come on don't be losers now." They both began to laugh as Lapis looked at the pieces with a smile appearing on her face. "We're not losers." She then began moving a piece wiping out all the opponent's pieces. "Because we just won the game."

"Whaaat?!"

Amethyst said as they looked up, seeing Pink Pearl smiling holding up all of the water balloons, making them smile as they held their arms out. "Prepare yourselves!" The Pearl announced as she pelts them with all the water balloons. Soaking the two as they fall back on the ground. For Soren however, the water began to turn to steam after it hit him.

"It feels good to lose...Sometimes I mean." Soren corrected as Amethyst nodded before telling him. "Yeah. But if Pearl were here she would say things like," She began to mimic Pearl's voice. "I hope this isn't the attitude you guys have during battle, blah, blah, blah!" She motioned hands telling them all. "She's no fun anymore. She's even the reason why we never form Opal."

Hearing this Pink Pearl became curious along with Soren as Pink jumped from the lifeguard chair down to them and asked sounding surprised. "Wait, you've fused before?" Amethyst nodded with a smile humming. "Mm-hm, if you want to try we can-" Before she finished, Steven and Lapis joined in. "Hey wait! What is Opal?" After asking Amethyst smiled at the question and told them.

"Oh, it's when me and Pearl, mash together." She clasps her hands before adding in. "But it can be with any Pearl. We can be able to fuse in any way such as dancing." After telling them Steven said happily. "Wow, that's so cool! But tell us more about Opal!" Lapis nodded as Amethyst nodded. "Sure."

She then started to explain to the four. "Well, guys, she's an ultra-powerful, stone cold Betty, that part's me. And she's like, kinda tall, which is part of a Pearl I'm fused with." After she finished Pink Pearl then asked curiously. "So...Opal is an amalgam of you and a Pearl's combined magical and physical attributes fused into a single entity."

"Eeyep. You got on the dot there Pink."

Pink Pearl blushed from that, having a pink tint appear on her cheeks as Steven asked in amazement. "Oh, can you do it right now with Pink Pear? Come on, form Opal!" This made Amethyst blush purple with Pink Pearl's becoming more visible which Soren noticed as the two looked at one another before Amethyst made an excuse.

"Uhh...Sorry, Steven, we can only form Opal when it's absolutely necessary." After telling him a light emits from the house making Steven gasp as he told them happily. "They're back!" He then runs towards the Beach House with the others following behind.

Later

Once they've entered the house they saw Pearl, Onyx, Yellow Pearl, Anaya, Violet Pearl, Blue Pearl on the Warp, getting down from it as Steven asked while heading towards them with a smile. "Ooh! Ooh! Did you bring me anything?" Pearl smiled and handed him a rock that looked like a 3D Hexagon. "Whoa, a rock! Thanks, Pearl."

"So was the mission a success?" Lapis asked them curiously as Pearl told them. "Yes. We managed to locate the Geode beetles of Heaven and Earth." Yellow Pearl then told them. "We need to have three of you to go retrieve one of the two beetles." After telling them Lapis asked curiously as Steven starts biting the rock. "Who should go and retrieve one of the beetles?"

Onyx answers them. "Soren, Amethyst, Pink Pearl, you guys go together after the Heaven Beetle, will go after the Earth Beetle." After telling them Amethyst curiously asked. "Why can't we go after the Earth Beetle?" Pearl answers them.

"The Earth Beetle's at the bottom of the boiling lava lake, and only Onyx can swim in it, plus we know where to look for it." After finishing, Onyx summon goggles before telling them. "You'll find the Heaven Beetle at the top of the Sky Spire. Just don't fall if you reach a cliff." After telling them Amethyst then said looking over at the two. "Boring."

Soren nodded and told her. "Why do they get to do the good missions after saying that Pink Pearl then told them with a small smile. "Come on you two, let's go." As they walk towards warp pad Pearl, Yellow, Onyx warped away first before Soren, Amethyst, Pink Pearl went next. After they were gone Anaya and the two Pearl's looked at Steven and Lapis.

"So, what did you guys do while we were gone?" Anaya asked with a smile as Lapis told them. "We were playing a couple games of checkers and won." Steven then said happily. "Oh, and Amethyst told us that she and Pearl use to form into a fusion a couple years ago called Opal."

This seemed to bring interest to Anaya, Blue, and Violet. "That sounds cool," Anaya said with a smile as she then asked. "But how do they fuse?" The two looked at one another before Lapis told her. "From what Amethyst mentioned, there are a few ways you can do it. One the things are by dancing." After telling them Anaya began to have an idea as she told both Pearl's.

"Blue Pearl, Violet Pearl. I think I know what we can do to pass the time." She then looked at Steven and Lapis and asked. "How would you guys like to see us try to fuse?" This made them smile hearing her ask that.

At the Sky Spire

Soon as the three Gems make it, they began to look at the sight of the Sky Spire, seeing the beautiful sunlight right above the clouds. "Is this where the Heaven Beetle lives?" Soren asked looking up at the tower that's higher than any of the other buildings in the Sky Spire.

"I think so?"

Amethyst tells them. "It's all the way at the top." She pointed up to the top as they began to walk towards it, while they did Soren began to question a bit. "Hey Amethyst, when you fuse with a Pearl, do the both of you become a giant like a human or a giant like a Diamond?" Amethyst answered. "Sorta Diamond Giant." Pink Pearl then asks.

"Are you able to control the right arm and the other controls the left?" The purple Gem answers her. "Actually we can control both. The Fusion has four arms." She said holding both hands up rotating them left and right from the wrists.

Minutes Later

After a little bit of walking the two began to reach the base of a long stairway, as while walking them to the top Soren said. "It's a good thing we're not humans. If we had reached half-way we would've been tired out by then." When they made it to the top Soren then asked curiously.

"Hey, this just came to my mind. If you eat as Opal, whose stomach does the food go into?"

Amethyst and Pink Pearl looked at one another before looking back at him. "That's a difficult question to-." Before Amethyst finished a rustling in a bush causes them to summon their weapons, ready for whatever jumps at them. In a second a goat jumps out eating a bush.

"What is that thing?" Pink Pearl asked before Amethyst told her, making her Whip vanish. "That's what we call a mountain goat. They're completely harmless as long as you don't anger them." The goat bleats as it continues to eat the bush. "What is an animal like that even doing all the way up here? How did it even get here?"

Soren asked confused as the two were. "I guess one of the Gems used the Warp Pad and ended up sending the goat up here by mistake. I wonder if they even notice it?" Amethyst questioned before she told them while continuing to walk.

"Come on, we really gotta complete the mission." After telling them they then began to walk, heading towards the location where the Heaven Beetle is, with the goat following them behind. Soon after a little bit of walking they reach a broken pass leading to the Heaven Beetle's temple with several broken pieces of floating land connecting them, the goat jumps the pieces to the temple.

This seemed to have surprised the three Gems that watched as Pink Pearl told them. "I never thought an animal would be able to make jumps like that." Amethyst agreed. "Yeah, but it's not as easy as this!" She then grabbed the two and then hops on a few rocks before throwing the both Soren and Pink on the other side before jumping after them.

"Ok, that was really good," Soren said as he got up from the floor, helping Pink Pearl up before looking at Amethyst. "But, give us a warning before throwing us." She nodded before they continued on. "We shouldn't be far from the Spire now." Pink Pearl said as they walk towards it with the goat following behind.

Near the top of the Spire

After a little while of walking the three were almost at the top. But as they go up Soren looked back and saw the Goat that was a few feet behind them. "Is it me or does it feel like the goat's tracking us?" The two female Gems looked back at the goat, which the short Gem told them.

"Maybe it's interested and wants to go on the mission too?"

She then looked over at the two. "Pink Pearl, how much further?" The said Pearl looks up and tells them. "Just a little bit more. We're almost at the top." After telling them they reaching a small room at the top of the spire. Once there they began to look around before spotting a small temple.

"Is that is?" Soren asked as Amethyst said while they approach the small building. "It's just where they said it would be. The Heaven Beetle should be inside." They then began to peek inside, seeing that the Beetle was living like people. "For a Heaven Beetle, it sure lives like us."

The two agreed with Amethyst. "Yeah, I mean look at it, it's got a little bedroom, bongos, and a little book..." Soren said before they noticed a box standing on top of a small cabinet. "Is that supposed to be a TV?" Pink asked confused before they looked through the other holes before stopping. "Well, we found the Beetles home, but where's the beetle?"

"It couldn't have just left this place."

Pink Pearl looked around before Amethyst tells them. "It had to of. But it couldn't have gone far. Maybe if we-" Before she finished the goat that followed them bleats, sounding terrified it began to gather their attention. "Never heard it make a sound like that before." They then began to feel a little quake not so far from them.

"Uh...Did any of you feel that?" The fire and short Gem nodded to Pink before another quake occurs, making them look at the direction, seeing the large pool-like bowl nearby shake as the water nearby began vibrating until something large emerged from the water.

What came out was a giant bird creature with no eyes and a large mouth as it began to fly, lowering its head before eating the goat whole like a stake dinner. In fear, Pink Pearl summons her spear and throws it at the Corruption, which it opened its mouth and swallows, forcing the Gems to retreat into a small room in the spire.

"It ate my Spear like it was nothing!" Pink Pearl told them as they looked at the entrance seeing the Corruption trying to figure a way to reach them, its beak sticking inside unable to take a bite out of them, seeing this Soren tells the two. "Um...I think it's best for the two of you to try that Opal fusion now."

They looked at him surprised as Amethyst told him. "But I haven't fused into Opal in a few years. Plus this Pink Pearl's not the same Pearl." Pink Pearl agreed. "Yeah and I don't even know how to fuse?" Soren then tells them.

"But you have to guys. It's either that or that Bird or whatever it is will eat-!"

Before he finished rubble fell from above before the same large beak went down and gulped him whole. "Soren!" Both Gems shouted before hearing the sound of a screech from the Giant Bird which tried to reach them from the hole now. As it did that the two looked at one another before giving a stern expression and nodded before grabbing each other's hand.

Inside the Bird

After being swallowed, Soren found himself inside the belly of the Bird, while walking he began to see that the littered with junk and the dead, sending some uncomforting feelings to Soren seeing this. "What in the world did this thing eat?" Asking himself that question he then noticed the goat from before eating the Heaven Beetle on a pile of junk.

"The Heaven Beetle! Wait why are you trying to eat it?" The goat continued to try and eat the Beetle, unable to due to it being a Gem, Soren then grabs beetle but goat refuses to let go. "Give me the magic bug. It's not something to eat!" He said when he took it from it's mouth and fell.

When he sat up he then looked at his hand and saw the Heaven Beetle laying in the palm of his hand. "Got it!" He then stood up as the goat stood on its hind legs in attempts to get the Beetle again only for Soren push it back with one hand and look up at the pink flesh of the Corruptions stomach.

"Now, how can we get out of here?"

As if on cue several giant arms penetrate the bird's torso, surprising him and the goat who was grabbed by one of the arms before being grabbed by one himself and out of the Birds body. He then looked and noticed what looked to be Pink Pearl and Amethyst's fusion, Opal, who seemed to be a grayish purple color with pink irises.

"Are you...?" Opal nodded with a smile to him before ripping the Corruption in half, destroying its main form as she Opal lands on the water while holding the fire Gem and goat, which she puts down. Opal then looks on as the bird forms into the smaller versions of itself, looking almost like a flock of bats attacking them.

Opal acted fast and runs holding Soren as she slides down the spire and jumps across the platforms, landing safely on the main spire. "Stay low." She told Soren, putting him down before summoning both a Whip and Spear before combining them into a very large bow, drawing back an energy arrow which hits the flock and destroys them, leaving only their Gems which vanished one-by-one.

"How's it like being fused together?" Opal turns to Soren, giving a soft smile before telling him from both Amethyst and Pink Pearl's side. "It feels great." After telling him the two then looked at the Warp Pad not so far from them and began to head towards it, ready to go back home.

Back at the Beach House

Inside, Pearl, Onyx, Yellow Pearl were back from the mission as Onyx was drying himself while Steven and Lapis watched as Anaya, Violet, and Blue did as many dance moves as they could to try and fuse into the fusion they wanted to become, but none of them did it. After resting from the many attempts Blue Pearl then said. "Maybe dancing isn't going to work."

"There has to be an alternate way we can do it." Violet Pearl told them as Anaya who thought for a moment, began to blush before telling them with a smile. "I think I know what we can do to fuse." The two looked at her. "What is it?" Blue asked before both her and Violet were brought into a kiss by Anaya.

This caused them to blush before the two began kissing back, this caused their Gems to begin glowing, coating them in a bright glow as their bodies began to merge together. Once complete the fusion was then revealed, the fusion they've became looked almost looked like an Opal, but their fusion only has two arms, her hair is in a braided ponytail, her Gems were black, and on her forehead, there was a Tiara.

"Whoa...You guys did it!"

Steven smiled seeing the fusion in front of him and Lapis, who began to open her eyes before examining herself, giving a smile from the two Pearl's and Anaya seeing their own fusion. "So, what are you going to call yourself?" Lapis asked curiously which made the fusion smile and tell them.

"I think I'm going to be, Black Pearl." The said fusion said happily before they heard the Warp Pad and saw two figures, revealed to be Opal and Steven. "We're back everyone!" The fire Gem announced to everyone who went over to them as Pearl said. "Good job you three...Or two. Have you retrieve the Heaven Beetle."

When the leader asked, the Gray Opal gasp. "We don't have it." She then unfused back to Amethyst and Pink. "We never found it!" Pink Pearl said as Amethyst told her. "It's gotta be somewhere in the Sky Spire still."

"Wait, I have it." Soren dug into his pockets and soon took out a Heaven Beetle. "Good job guys." She then takes the beetle and places it in a cage with the Earth Beetle, and bubbles it. "I also see the two of you were able to fuse." Amethyst and Pink Pearl blushed when that was mentioned as Soren told them the truth. "And it all happened because of a giant bird eating me."

Onyx then tells them. "Nice work, you all will be great at fusing one day like you Black Pearl." After telling the team Pearl then nodded in agreement and sends the Beetles with the other Gems with Black Pearl smiling, before they heard a gasp from Steven who said surprised. "Wait I can do that too?!"
