Chapter 13: Thar Be Dragons

It had been more than a week since the Weighing of the Wands. Luffy and Hancock had gotten some letters complaining how they raised Haru, but neither really paid any attention…

Well most of the time.

Sometimes they got Howlers. Which was harder to ignore but they managed to find a way to get rid of them before they opened up.

"Look like two of them today." Said Hina as owls swooped down and dropped howlers on Hancock's plate.

Hancock got up and took the Howlers and ran out of the room with them.

Everyone ate breakfast as they heard.

"Men who could turn into black holes! That's not a good place to raise children!" they heard a yell.

"Lava men! LAVA MEN!" they heard another yell.

"I can't wait for the Tournament." Said Haru, "Then these letters will stop!"

"How do you know they will?" asked Hermoine.

"Unless it has to with swimming, I can just use minimal magic and beat up whatever I have to face!" said Haru.

Hermoine blinked, "But you're supposed to be using magic"

"I know… but I'm really behind the others when it comes to magic." Said Haru.

"Just let Haru punch his way through things." Said Hina.

Hermoine sighed, knowing it was best not to argue against the two.

"Just let Haru have his fun." Said Kaien.

Later in the day, Draco decided to try to get under Haru's skin.

"Looks like your mother got more howlers." Mocked Draco.

"That's nothing." Said Haru, "I remember this one time involving one of the admirals when he tried to sink the Sunny with a hail of meteorites…"

Draco stared at him, he tried to get under his skin using the howlers for the last few days and every time Haru would just bring up something that happened in the past.

"You know telling me these things don't help your case." Said Draco.

"And I'm telling you I don't care what a bunch of middle aged witches think." Said Haru.

Draco sighed, realizing that was a stupid idea.

Draco walked away.

"Oh yeah, it's a Hogsmeade weekend." Said Haru.

"Are you sure it's a good idea to go?" asked Hermione.

"Why?" asked Haru.

"Everyone's going to stare at you." Saud Ron.

"I don't care." Said Haru with a shrug.

"Fine… just bring your cloak just in case." Said Hermoine.

"Yes Mom…" said Haru.

Hermoine whacked him in the head for that.

The day of the Hogsmeade visit, Haru got a letter from Hagrid, telling him to meet up with that night at a certain time.

"I wonder what's that about." Said Haru who shrugged knowing it wasn't a bad idea.

During the Hogsmeade Trip nothing much happened. HE got a few stares and whispers. But other than that nothing really happened and he didn't need his cloak.

That night he met up with Hagrid.

"What did you want to show me…" said Harry.

"Well I was planning to meet up with Olympe …" said Hagrid, "I was planning to show her something."

"It involves the first task doesn't it?" asked Harry.

"How did you know?" asked Hagrid.

"Why else would you be showing me?" asked Haru with a shrug.

Hagrid chuckled, Haru put on his cloak and followed him picked up the headmaster at the other school. They went into the forbidden forest, Haru saw what Hagrid wanted to show him.

"No way!" whispered Haru, "So awesome!"

Indeed what was the next task was dragons.

There were four dragons being wrangled up. Haru couldn't believe his eyes… of course his eyes were also sparkling.

He noticed that Charlie was there talking to Hagrid. He barely paid attention but noticed that all of the Dragons were mothers with clutches of eggs.

"That's going to be fun!" said Haru.

That was when he noticed Karkaroff looking at the dragons as well.

He realized something quickly.

"They're going to tell Krum and what's her name…" thought Haru.

He knew that at the next chance he gets he should tell Cedric.

The next day he was talking to his friends and fellow Straw Hat kids about on the Thousand Sunny.

"What! Dragons!" yelled Hermoine.

"I know it's going to be fun!" said Haru.

"So what's the plan?" asked Hina.

"Well I'm thinking about trying to tame it." Said Haru.

"Why not go for another plan." Said Hermoine.

"Oh come on! It will be easy… just like how dad went easy on Norbert." Said Haru.

"He did turn Norbert to a dog in a dragon's body." Said Nojiko.

"Did you tell Cedric yet?" asked Maya.

"Not yet…" said Haru.

"What you're going to tell him?" asked Ron.

"It's only fair, Krum and what's her name already know about it." Said Haru.

"Fleur." Corrected Ron.

Everyone stared at Ron.

"Wow…" said Ginny, "I didn't think you'd memorize her name."

"Hey!" yelled Ron.

"Don't worry I'll be fine when against Dragons!" said Haru.

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this." Said Hermoine.

"It's only natural." Said Kaien with a shrug.

Sometime later, Haru managed to find Cedric.

"Hey Cedric." Called out Haru.

"Yeah?" asked Cedric.

"I need to talk to you in private." Said Haru.

He created a portal that led to the kitchen.

"Where are we?" asked Cedric.

"The kitchen." Said Haru, "You've never been here?"

"No." said Cedric.

Haru shrugged.

"What did you want to talk about?" asked Cedric.

"I found out what the first tsk is." Said Haru, "It's Dragons."

"What, you're kidding right?" asked Cedric.

He saw that Haru wasn't smiling.

"I know that our skills are very different." Said Haru, "I know you're not the type to jump headfirst like I am."

"How did you find out?" asked Cedric.

"Hagrid showed me in secret." Said Haru.

"Okay…" said Cedric with a nod.

"Don't' worry, I'm sure you can figure something out." Said Haru with a smile.

"Yeah." Said Cedric, mentally sighing knowing that Haru didn't see it as a threat.

Meanwhile on the Thousand Sunny, they got word about the Dragons.

"Dragons? Seriously?" asked Chopper.

"Yeah, that's what I heard." Said Robin.

"Do you think Haru can handle it?" asked Kaya.

"Knowing him, he'll follow Luffy's example and try to tame it." Said Nami.

"Oh come on? Since when do I try to tame animals?" asked Luffy.

"Well there was that time with the Cerberus." Said Franky.

"And the time with the kraken. "said Chopper.

"And that time with…" said Nami but was interrupted.

"Oh yeah… I remember that." Laughed Luffy.

"Haru will be fine." Said Hancock, "I'm sure he can figure something out."

"Or it could to an international incident." Said Nami.

Everyone else sighed.

"This is going to end badly, isn't it?" asked Sanji.

"Maybe…" said Marguerite with a shrugged.

"Probably." Said Sirius.

The crew once again sighed.

Well it didn't matter, because in just a few days the first task was on, with the Dragons, Haru would have to figure out what he was going to do…

Well beyond trying to tame that is…
