Chapter 14: The Boy Who Made A Dragon Cry
Luffy was helping consul Norbert. Norbert was very sad though it did make sense, he did see other mean looking dragon, he probably turned tail between his legs.
"It's okay little guy, it's okay." Said Luffy.
"So this is Norbert." Said a voice.
Luffy turned around and saw Charlie.
"Yep… this is him." Said Luffy.
"So the rumor is true, he acts like a dog." Said Charlie.
Norbert wagged his tail at Charlie.
"You know you've done the impossible." Said Charlie.
"Yeah, I heard." Laughed Luffy.
Charlie began to examine Norbert.
"Oh wow." Said Charlie.
"What is it?" asked Luffy.
"Norbert's a girl." Said Charlie.
Norbert somehow under stood this was shocked.
"She shocked… how is she shocked?" asked Charlie surprised.
"That's just the way he is." Said Luffy, "I mean she is…"
Charlie was just surprised.
Then again he heard how it with the Straw Hats, they did have that effect on people.
Son enough it was the day for the first task.
Draco of course was trying to bet with housemates.
"Wait… you're saying that Monkey wont' last more than 5 minutes?" asked an older housemate, "Sure I'll make that bet."
"Is it just me or is Malfoy getting dumber?" asked Hina.
"Maybe." Said Maya.
"Most defiantly." Said Ginny.
Elsewhere Haru was eating breakfast without a care in the world.
"How can he be acting like that?" asked Fleur to some of the Ravenclaw students.
"You read the article." Said Nojiko butting in, "This is nothing to him."
Fleur didn't respond.
And so later that day it was time for the First Task. All of the competitors gathered in a tent that was outside of a newly constructed arena.
They were informed that they had to get a golden egg from the dragons.
"All right." Said Barty Crouch holding a small sack, "Each of you will pull out a miniature dragon with a number."
"Which one is the most dangerous?" asked Haru.
"That would be the Hungarian Horntail." Said Ludo.
"Oh, okay." Said Haru.
"Ladies first." Said Ludo.
Fleur reached into the bag and pulled out a miniature Welsh green with the number 2 on it.
Cedric went next and pulled out a Swedish Short Snout with the number 1 one on, then Viktor who pulled out a miniature Chinese fireball with the number 3 on it.
"All right!" cheered Haru before reaching into the bag knowing what he got. It was the Hungarian Horntail.
The mixture which was alive was biting and swinging its tail at Haru, but Haru turned his finger black and flicked it. The miniature began to whine.
"All right got the one I wanted!" cheered Haru.
"There's something I need to speak to you about." Said Ludo.
"What?" asked Haru.
He led Haru to a private place to talk.
"Now Mr. Monkey do you need any tips?" he asked.
"Nope. I already have my game plan set in action." Said Haru.
Ludo sighed, knowing that it was probably better to not pry into his plan.
And so Haru had to wait for his turn. He did hear cheers and a few screams but he just more and more excited for it.
Haru was told he was next and soon it was his turned.
He stepped into the arena, he looked at the dragon and the clutch of eggs, one of which were gold.
"So I have to do that…" said Haru.
In the stands Haru's friends watched.
"Do you really think he can tame it?" asked Ginny.
"We'll just have to wait and see." Said Hina eating popcorn.
"Where did you get the pop corn?" asked Ginny.
"Asked Sanji." Said Hina with a shrug.
In the arena, Haru created a portal. Most of the people watching thought he was cheating but when he took out his hat, everyone in the crow was confused.
Haru looked around and saw some boulders.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" said Haru.
He made the boulders float then dropped them on the dragon.
The dragon while injured was still coconscious and gave off an angry roar.
"Well that didn't work as I thought it would." Said Haru, "Looks like it's time for plan b!"
In this stands with the Straw Hat.
"He's going to use Haki…" sighed Hancock.
"This is going to end badly isn't." said Nami.
"I think it will be fine." Said Sirius eating popcorn.
"Yeah." Agreed Luffy taking a large handful.
"That popcorn I made for Hina!" yelled Sanji.
"She gave us some." Said Luffy.
Sanji sighed.
On the arena floor, Haru made a fist that turned black.
"Now down girl!" yelled Haru punching the dragon.
In the stands, Hermione and Ron were shocked.
"What happened to his fist?" asked Ron.
"Oh that…" said Hina she turned her fist black too, "I guess he never went into detail, but that's what Haki looks like when he uses it for punching!"
"Haru's up against a dragon, it makes sense he's going on all out." Said Tom.
Back in the arena, the dragon got up.
She glared at Haru.
"Now let's try this again!" yelled Haru.
He punched the dragon again.
Almost everyone in the stands was deathly quiet. Not only did he punch a dragon… but a dragon TWICE!
Really the only sound was Luffy, Sirius (who had gotten used to the Straw Hats during the summer) , Hina and even Zoro laughing at this.
"Now!" yelled Haru, "Let me ride you!"
It became even quieter in the stands as they all processed this information.
"WHAT!" almost everyone yelled in the stands at the same time.
In the stand the Straw Hats weren't surprised but this.
"He definitely Luffy's son all right." Said Robin.
Nami was messaging her headache.
Back in the arena the dragon roared once again.
"All right! One more time!" yelled Haru.
He once again punched the dragon.
The entire arena was once again quiet. He had punched a dragon three times and the dragon hadn't done anything in return yet.
That was when again the dragon made a noise.
It wasn't a roar but a whimper.
Tears weld up in the dragon's eyes. The dragon made a sorrowful noise.
Those from the dragon perverse have never seen this before.
"What's wrong with her?" asked one of the handlers.
"She's crying." Said Charlie in shock, "He made her cry!"
Back in the arena, the dragon cried and cried.
"Oh man…" sighed Haru, "I'm sorry… I didn't know I'd you that badly."
He began to pet the dragon.
"It's okay." He assured her, "I'm so sorry."
The dragon once again whimpered.
"You're very sweet you know that." Said Haru.
The dragon licked him knowing he was truly sorry.
"I can ride you another time." Said Haru, "I'll grab the egg from you now."
He went to grab the golden egg and went over to pet the dragon again.
"You'll make a great mother." He said.
The dragon made a happy noise.
He walked over to where he was supposed to go, it was also time to get his score. He looked at the judges.
"Well." Said Pro. Dumbledore, "I minds as well be the first to give the score."
He shot off his wand showing off a 7.
"Now while you did show off some magic it wasn't very much." Said Pro. Dumbledore, "This is about showing off magical skill although I couldn't give you a low score since you were the only one not injured."
The other judges managed to give them their score.
Ludo gave him a 10, "Impressive you were able to stare down a Horntail like that."
Madame Maxine managed to regain herself and gave him a 5.
"Dumbledore is correct… this is meant for magic." He scolded Haru.
Barty Crouch gave him a 10.
Haru couldn't help but to stare.
"I'd rather not state my reasons…" he said, "Other than I should have listen to Cornelius."
Karkaroff gave him a three.
He didn't say why, but his eye twitch said everything.
"Remember I don't care if I win." Said Haru.
"We're well aware of that." Said Pro. Dumbledore.
Haru left and ended up talking to Charlie.
"Haru… that was impressive." Said Charlie.
"Thanks." Said Haru.
"After meeting Norberta, I guess I shouldn't be surprised." Explained Charlie.
"Norberta?" asked Haru.
"Norbert's female… told Hagrid the other day." Said Charlie, "He took it well."
"That's good." Said Haru.
Madame Pomfrey didn't even bother checking Haru for injuries. She knew it wasn't needed.
When she was done, Haru and the other champions (Fleur and Viktor both looking at Haru shocked, Cedric who had seen Sea Kings knew that dragons were nothing for Haru didn't).
He was informed that the that eggs contained the hint of the next part of the competition, which was in in February.
And so he headed to the castle.
"Great show!" said Hina joining him.
However Hermoine and Ron just stared at him surprised.
"You should have told us more about Haki." Said Hermoine.
"Sorry," said Haru.
"You know… you're probably the first thing that ever got a dragon to cry." Said Ron.
"Really?" asked Haru.
That was when they noticed Rita Skeeter.
"Hey want to talk?" asked Haru.
"I have t o go… file my reports…" said Rita running away.
"Haru." Said Ron.
"Yes." Said Haru.
"I think you broke almost everyone in the wizarding world." Said Ron.
"Probably." Laughed Haru.
"It's not funny!" yelled Hermoine whacking him in the head.
All because of this Haru would soon giant a new name in the Wizarding World "The Boy who made a Dragon Cry".
This was going to change the way everyone thought about Haru and the Straw Hats themselves.
Next Time: Turns out there's a tradition with the Tri-wizard Tournament called the Yule Ball... who will Haru ask to it... then again he already has a kind of sort of girlfriend so never mind that... but will Ron and Hermoine be able to get dates? Find out next time!
