Chapter 16: Having a Ball

It was just a normal day while on the way to Potions Class.

"And that's why I will always help someone incase they have amnesia." Said Haru.

"Why am I not surprised it took you this long to mention that uncle?" asked Hermoine.

Haru shrugged.

"Why are we having this conversation again?" asked Ron.

"Don't know." Answered Haru.

As they waited for class to start, Draco showed up.

"Anyways I already have a date for the ball." Said Draco.

They saw stared at Draco wondering why he was bragging like that.

"Malfoy are you okay?" asked Haru.

"Haru." Hissed Ron.

"Just talking about how I was able to get a date." Said Draco.

"We all have dates." Said Hermoine staring at him.

Sure you do." Said Draco.

"Have you been okay?" asked Haru, "You haven't seemed well since the first task."

Draco's eye twitched, not only did he lose a lot money making foolish bets, but he also finally saw the kind of person that Haru really was.

He hadn't taken it well that Haru was a pretty much a weirdo.

"It doesn't matter Monkey!" he suddenly yelled out.

He pointed his wand at Haru to cast a spell, however Haru dodged and the spell hit Hermoine instead.

It started to make her teeth grow rapidly.

"What's' going on here"! demanded Snape.

"Malfoy shot a spell at Hermoine." Said Haru.

"I don't see any difference." Muttered Snape.

Hermoine ran away in tears while the teacher earned several glares form the Gryffindor Students.

He had forgotten about how Haru subverted the rules before and would subvert them again.

But that wasn't important once Break rolled around with the majority of students staying this time around thanks to the Yule Ball. Even many of those weren't able to attend the ball stayed in the hopes that someone would invite them.

Of course it was Christmas…

On Christmas Eve they had a birthday party for Chopper of course, but the bigger deal was the next day.

Haru got many presents from his friends and family, which included presents from Dobby.

He and Ron got into the Common Room where Ginny showing off her present that she got from Luffy and Hancock.

"I got a Devil Fruit!" she cheered holding up a ruby red fruit.

"Awesome!" said Haru.

"What are you going to do?" asked Ron.

"I'm going to eat it tomorrow." Said Ginny, "Since I don't want anything to go wrong at the Ball."

"It makes sense." Said Hina with a shrug.

"Remember with Ron he didn't fully control his transformations for a bit." Said Haru.

"Hey!" yelled Ron.

"you better hide your Devil Fruit incase someone tries to steal it." Said Hermoine finally came down the stories.

"Oh yeah… you really should.' Said Haru becoming serious.

"What's wrong Haru?" asked Hermoine.

"You didn't hear?" asked Haru.

"Mom's been pretty angry about it." Said Kaien making his presence known.

"Dad has been too." Said Hina, "Kind of sort of…"

"You know dad." Said Haru with a shrug.

"Have they found it yet?" asked Ron.

"No… we font know who took only that it was taken." Said Haru.

"We hope that it get found soon though." Said Hina.

"If it gets found at all." Said Kaien.

"But yeah, hide it until tomorrow." Said Hina.

"Oh by the way! Thanks Haru for the bracelet, it goes good with my necklace." Said Ginny, "And it will go well with my dress robes tonight."

"Your welcome." Said Haru.

And so the rest of the day was quiet, until a few hours before the ball where everyone had to get ready.

Well of course the girl's got ready first. So mostly it was guys waiting around for their dates.

Neville, Ron and Haru all waited for their dates, while Kaien just read a book nearby as he couldn't go.

"Oh boys!" called out Hina.

They turned saw their three dates.

Gunny was wearing a brilliant red dress robes that matched her necklace and bracelet.

"Wow!" said Haru.

Ginny blushed at that reaction.

Maya wore a pale pink set of robes but the amazing thing that was that she had strained her hair, it was put in to an elegant ponytail tied with pearls.

Neville looked at her and was shocked.

"Don't worry I won't tell dad about that look you're giving me." Said Maya with a wink.

Hina was wearing a dark green set and had patterns that resembled leaves and vines and wore some barrettes that looked like leaves in her hair.

"You look nice." Said Ron.

"Is that all you have to say." Said Hina glaring at him.

"Come on let's go!" said Haru.

They decided it would be quicker to take a portal to the ball.

Haru and Ginny went to where the other champions would enter the ball.

He looked saw Cedric who was with Cho. Both of them smiled at Haru and Ginny.

Then Haru noticed Fleur with Roger Davis. IT was clear from the way he was staring at her that the Veela charm was affecting him, and Fleur looked angry with him.

"Poor Fleur." Said Haru.

"Really?" asked Ginny.

"What? You know my mom has the same problem." Said Haru.

Ginny sighed knowing it was kindness showing through.

That was when Viktor entered with his date. Haru looked at the girl wearing a pretty periwinkle dress robes and her hair tied into a grave knot.

Haru stared at the girl, while Ginny was trying not to laugh.

It was look he was putting together the pieces of where he had seen that girl before.

The girl sighed and face palmed as she could have known it would take forever him to figure it out.

She decided to give it a few more seconds before she would jog his memory.

Thankfully she didn't have to resort to that.

"Hermoine!" Haru finally yelled in shock.

"Yes Haru it's me." Sighed Hermoine.

"Wow! I didn't recognize you!" said Haru.

"I know." Sighed Hermoine.

"Did you do the thing that Maya did with her hair?" asked Haru.

"Yes, I did." Said Hermione with a smile, "In fact we helped each other with our hair. We both used Sleekeazy's Hair Potion."

"Also your teeth." Said Haru.

"Those were fixed days ago when Malfoy used that spell!" yelled Hermoine excerpted that her friend didn't noticed that her teeth were shrunk down after the spell since she had to fix them anyways minds as well get her buck teeth fixed (her parents were dentists which was why only now she got them fixed with magic).

That was when Pro. McGonagall showed up.

"All right Champions and their partners, it is time to start the Yule Ball." She said.

They entered the Great Hall, which was very different than usual, it was actually quite beautiful.

The four champions and their dates went to the dance floor to have the first dance of the ball.

The other students watched the dance, many Slytherins were shocked that Haru was very good at dancing.

After the dance everyone had dinner. Haru of course stuff himself full Ginny giggled a little at the two.

The two also laughed at Viktor struggling to pronounce Hermione's name, with her teaching him the correct way.

"Fleur looked at Haru with distaste at his behavior. Gunny noticed the look.

"You might want to look at his parents." Said Ginny glaring at the quarter-Veela.

Fleur looked at Luffy who was of course attending was eating more than Haru, has wife giggled at his antics and even finding new food for him to try.

Fleur scowled at the pirate couple.

Ginny rolled her eyes at the scowl.

After dinner it was time for the main show the popular wizard rock band The Weird sisters began to play.

Of course Ginny and Haru danced away during many of the songs, taking break when they got tired or Haru got hungry.

However Ron on the other hand was sulking.

Hina sighed at his attitude.

"Seriously!" she yelled at him, "Just talk to Hermoine and tell you how you feel!"

"What?" asked Ron.

"You like her! And I mean Like Like her." Said Hina, "Don't lie to me!"

"I don't like her that way!" said Ron.

"Oh really why are you sulking then." Said Hina, "I mean it's so obvious!"

Ron wasn't sure how to respond to that.

"Oh I get it! You have either coined your self that you don't like her or you're unaware of it." Said Hina.

Ron was about to say something but couldn't find the words.

"No stop being a jellied ass and dance with me or I will make you." Said Hina.

Ron looked at Hina who was using her warlords killing glare at him.

"Okay…" Ron said meekly.

In hindsight he should have known that she would pull something like that.

Haru and Ginny were taking another break so Haru could eat some sweets.

"So Luna told me that the younger Ravenclaws were doing something to make up for the fact that they couldn't go to the Ball." Said Ginny.

"Really?" asked Haru, "I wonder what it is."

Meanwhile in the Ravenclaw Common Room, a second year Muggle-born student who decided to stay (a lot of students decided to stay during this time just in case they got date) deiced to play up a certain stereotype and have hi fellow Ravenclaws who were unable to get older students to take them in a little game. Tom, Luna and Nojiko all joined in the game because they had nothing better to do.

"You eater the cave where the treasure is said to be kept." Said the Muggle-born student who was clearly the dungeon master.

"I check for traps." Tom having been told how to play.

"Do we really have to play this?" asked Nojiko, "Couldn't we be doing something better with our time?"

"Look if you want quit I'll kill you off on the next turn, if you don't just try to have fun." Said the Dungeon master who then rolled the dice, "10, you find only the traps in your vicinity."

Nojiko sighed and rolled her eyes.

Back at the ball, Haru and Ginny watched as the Straw Hats. Luffy was of course having fun with Hancock. Sanji was trying not get his wife onto the dance floor. Usopp and Kaya were of course having fun while dancing as wee Sirius and Marguerite. Franky also hitting the dance floor leading a bunch of more open minded Students in a dance while his wife watched. Perona was dancing with Zoro, who was trying to get Peeves off her back for obvious reasons and Chopper giving dances to girls who didn't have date as having a cute reindeer man would be the thing to cheer up the shy ones and just ones that didn't have dates while Brook listened to the music and enjoying it.

Towards the end of the night. Haru and Ginny decided to walk back to the common room. On the way out of the ball Cedric pulled Haru aside.

"Harry I was wondering if you knew anything about the clue?" he asked him.

"I did." Sighed Haru.

"Oh…" said Cedric.

He patted Haru.

"You'll figure something out." Said Cedric.

"Thanks." Said Cedric.

He walked over to Ginny who walked to the common room.

"I had a really nice night." Said Ginny.

Haru looked at Ginny and then kissed her.

"So I guess we're really dating now." Said Ginny.

"Oh yeah." Laughed Haru.

The next day, Ginny deiced to eat her Devil Fruit, which was thankfully not stolen the day before.

She ate on the deck of the Thousand Sunny so that anyone could help with her powers she might devil.

"Okay remember it tastes really nasty." Said Haru.

"Just brace yourself." Said Hina.

Ron was also watching her but was rather silent due to him still thinking about what Hina said the night before.

Ginny took a bite of the fruit and immediately started to choke.

"That was nasty." She groaned.

"We know." Said all of the Devil Fruit eaters at the same time.

Ginny took a breath and held out her hand. That was when suddenly a ruby fell to the deck.

"what?" asked Ginny.

"Hey do you think you can try it again?" asked Haru figuring out that she had one of two types of Devil Fruit.

She once again created a crew more rubies.

"Either it's a Logia or Paramecia." Said Robin.

"Focus on turning into rubies to see which one it is." Said Haru.

Ginny tried to think about turning rubies but it didn't work.

"So…" said Ginny.

"It looks like you can create rubies but not turn into them." Said Haru.

"Which is an amazing power by the way." Said Nami.

Ginny inched from her fellow red head.

"It seems like it's one that you will have to experiment with." Said Robin, "Those are always fun."

Ginny nodded.

Hermoine decided to talk to Hina about Ron as Ginny began to experiment.

"Hey is Ron okay from last night." Said Hermoine, she wash honestly surprised that Ron didn't confront her anything the night before, after she had noticed Ron's behavior in the first half of the night.

"Just told him something that messed with his head." Said Hina, "I'm sure he'll be fine once he's gone and though about it."

Hermoine sighed and knew Hina was hiding something from her.

And so Haru and Ginny started dating with Ginny joining the ranks of Devil Fruit eaters in the school.

However they didn't know that while they all had good night at the Yule ball, someone they cared about didn't. And that person's life was going to be ruined quite a bit.
