Everyone watched the quidditch match with great suspense. Harry and Draco were clawing down inch by inch closer to the snitch. Suddenly Draco pulled up about ten feet to the ground as the snitch veered off course and Harry tumbled into the ground. Everyone stared to see what would happen as Draco went higher, looking for the snitch once again.
Hermione stared. "Harry's better than that, what happened?"
Luna, who was sitting right by her shrugged, and stared at the body of Harry, he hadn't moved. Professor McGonnagal and Dumbledore went out to the field. They checked Harry's pulse, as Hermione grew scared. Why had she agreed? Why? Dumbledore put his wand to his throat magically enhancing it. "He's alright. Would Harry's replacement please come out to take his place for the time being?"
Luna gaped as Hermione stood up. "You agreed. Of all the stupid things. You may get a sneezlepuff in your hair. You don't want your hair to start falling out, do you."
Hermione laughed silently to her self, but stopped laughing as she went down the column, towards the field. How had this happened on the same night Harry had asked her to substitute if he ever needed her to. Well, he definitely needed her now, and she wasn't even ready. She wasn't even due to start practicing with the team until next week. The only reason Hermione had agreed was because she had been practicing with Harry once a week and he had said she was getting BETTER.
Hermione stepped up to Dumbledore and took the wand from him. A power seemed to come from within her as she got on. The wand was a little wobbly at first, but it seemed to subside as she got higher. Draco flew over to her. "So, you're their replacement. A mudblood who's never flown before. You won't be any good. Look at you, you can hardly fly."
Hermione flew away from him and flew above Ron to watch for the snitch. She noticed Ron flag her over to him. She flew lower and he whispered. "What are you doing? Are you MAD! I haven't even seen you on a broom in your life. Good luck, that's all I can say."
As Hermione started to fly higher again, Ron called. "And watch out for the bludgers!"
Hermione smiled. Why was everyone treating her like a little girl? Still, this was kind of fun. It was more of a rush than anything. She stared out onto the field and saw Angelina had a quaffle and she passed it to Alicia who took it and held it close to her even as Pucey got in front of her stopping her dead in her tracks. She dropped the quaffle which was grabbed by Katie before Montague could grab it.
All this Lee announced, but Hermione loved watching it. Lee suddenly got her attention. "Malfoy, going for the snitch. Granger seems to be preoccupied with something else."
Hermione saw Draco high above her coming down quick, but something didn't look right. She looked down and didn't see the snitch. She then knew, he wasn't after the snitch, he had fainted. Hermione got scared. "Corpus Levus."
The body stopped in midair. Hermione went over and grabbed him, carrying him gently to the ground. He moaned and opened his eyes. "What happened?"
Hermione smiled kindly. "You fainted."
He shook his head. "I have a terrible headache."
Suddenly a large chunk of his hair came out. "No, my beautiful hair. What's going on?"
Hermione stared up into the stands at Luna and knew that she must not be crazy after all. There really were Sneezlepuffs,
Just a stupid little story I wrote for the heck of it. If you don't like it that's fine, but please tell me if you do. I also take constructive criticism; just make sure you have a point to be made if you can please. I wrote this late at night when I was bored, and I liked it. I'm just rambling on here, but if you will, please REVIEW!
