Chapter 17: Hagrid's Heritage

After the Ball Haru knew he have a problem he had to focus on, figuring out we way to do the next task. After all he couldn't swim, and using certain things were out.

They tried various suits but that didn't work either.

He still had until February so it was okay for now he knew they could always come up with ideas.

When he wasn't coming up with ideas for that he was helping Ginny with her powers.

Turned out she can create all sorts of constructs with her powers, not only that but corundum (the stuff rubies are made of) is a very strong material, even harder than steel.

However soon enough a new news article from Rita Skeeter came out.

One about Hagrid.

Turned out at first it was about his breeding of the Blast Ended Skrewts. But it quickly turned into about his parentage.

Turned out his mother was a giant.

"So what's the problem with that?" asked Haru when the article came out.

"What?" asked Hermoine.

"I mean it's only a giant… it's not that bad." Said Haru.

Ron was about to say something.

'Haru, giants are clearly much different between the worlds." Sighed Hina.

"Oh… that actually makes sense." Said Haru.

"Wait… giants exist in your world?" asked Ron.

"Of course they do." Said Haru like it was nothing.

"And they're not blood thirsty savages there?" asked Ron.

"I guess that's how like that here." Said Maya.

"Wait… is your crew friends with giants?" asked Ron.

"I thought you knew." Said Haru.

"Haru no offence but you tend not to tell us stories." Said Hermoine.

"We only just found about your uncle Sabo." Pointed out Ron.

"You ONLY just found about Uncle Sabo?" asked Hina.

Hina slapped Haru hard.

"Yeah… I knew about Sabo years ago…" said Ginny to her boyfriend .

"See." Said Hina.

"Should we be worried about Hagrid?" asked Maya getting the subject back on the Hagrid.

"What do you mean?" asked Hina.

"well it's clear he was keeping it a secret." Said Maya, "And like Ron said, they're not like the giants from home."

"Maybe he's fine." Said Haru.

He wasn't fine, during class for care of Magical Creatures he was absent and instead teacher by the name of Grubby Plank was the substitute and gave lessons about unicorns.

Granted they were nice, but the fact that Hagrid hid and wouldn't let any one into his cabin spoke volumes.

After a few weeks they decided to see if he would be in Hogsmeade during the weekend as it has been weeks. With Haru, Ron, Hermoine and Ginny going to check (as they were the ones who were able to go).

However he wasn't at the Three Broomsticks.

No what was surprising was when they found Nami grilling Ludo.

"It's all mine now…" said Nami, "You know that, I know we all know it…"

"Please I'll be good for it." Said Ludo.

"What's going on." Said Haru.

"Oh Haru…" said Ludo.

"No you're not going to help him." said Nami glaring at him.

"Do I want to know." Said Haru.

Ludo was going to say something.

"No… you don't…" said Nami, "He doesn't need your help at all!"

Ludo looked away from Nami knowing it wouldn't help.

That was also when they noticed Rita Skeeter watching the proceedings with interest.

"Get out of here." Said Haru.

"What?" asked Rita.

"I said get out of here." Said Haru, "After what you did to Hagrid…"

"You think you can just boss me around?" asked Rita.

"Well you're clearly a bitch who doesn't care so… maybe." Said Haru with a shrug.

"Wow… it's been a while since we heard him talk like that." Said Ron.

"He has been taking more after Luffy lately." Said Nami.

"You know Harry Potter or Haru D. Monkey I have ways and sources to make things worse." Said Rita who seemed to forget about the last time she interested him.

Probably because of his different attitude.

"Well if I remember the one time you interviewed me things didn't go well for you." Said Rita.

"I knew it." sighed Nami.

"Knew what?" asked Ginny.

"He's been faking getting dumber." Said Nami.

Ginny blinded and laughed, "Yeah, I kind of figured that too."

Rita looked at Haru unsure how to respond.

"Get out of here…" said Haru.

Rita left unsure of what was going on, but began to figure out things involing her revenge for sure.

"You better be careful…" said Hermoine.

"Eh… it's going to be fine." Said Haru with a shrug.

After getting some things from Hogsmeade, they decided to once again try to get into Hagrid's hut, turned out he had let in Dumbledore and Usopp's family.

"Oh hey! You finally let people in." said Haru.

"I didn't know there were giants in your world until Usopp told me." Said Hagrid.

"I had heard that Usopp is quite the friend with them." Said Pro Dumbledore.

"It's true." Said Usopp.

"But they're very different from the giants' here." Said Hagrid.

"Look it's fine…" said Usopp, "IT doesn't change who you are."

"You're an awesome guy! It doesn't matter who you're dad was." Said Haru.

"It was his mom." Said Hermoine staring at her friend, mostly because of the little show he pulled earlier with Rita.

"Well I have to go." Said Pro. Dumbledore, "Other things to do…"

"So… how did she find out?" asked Haru.

"He hasn't told us yet." Said Usopp.

"I told Maxine… I thought she might be one too." said Hagrid, "She claimed she wasn't…"

"Yeah… it sounds like she's lying." Said Usopp.

"Do you think she's spying somehow." Said Haru.

"It's possible." Said Kaya.

"What sort of spell would do that though?" asked Hermoine.

'Know her probably something she invented." Said Haru.

"Did something happen today?" asked Yosopp.

"Yeah, scolded her and called her a bitch." Laughed Haru.

"Wow… it's been a while since you swore." Said Maya.

"Why did you stop anyways?" asked Yosopp.

Haru shrugged, "Don't know… show I start up again?" he said.

"Nope! Nope!" said Hermoine.

"Let's get back on topic…" said Kaya.

Hagrid, "None of you care?"

"we've been trying to assure you for a while." Pointed out Haru.

Hagrid blushed when he said that.

"My dad told me I shouldn't be ashamed of my heritage." Said Hagrid.

"And you shouldn't." said Haru.

Hagrid looked at all of them and smiled.

"You're all right." Said Hagrid, "I shouldn't be."

Everyone smiled at Hagrid.

"By the way… if you want to… maybe we can introduce you to our world's giants." Said Usopp.

"I'll think about it." said Hagrid.

With that Hagrid realized that those who really did care about him, obviously didn't care about it… which made things a lot better.

However the 2nd Task was still ahead and Haru still didn't know what to do… but hopefully he'll be come up with something… Because that next task was still a big problem.
