Chapter 19: Operation: Get Krum Real Friends
Haru had to come to realize something after the competition… while he was initially angry. He realized how it was messed up.
It was meant to be something to foster friendship.
But it was clear about Krum…
He needed friends…
Real friends… not a bunch of fakes.
So he decided to talk to Hina about this…
"So let me get this straight… you want to get Viktor Krum some real friends." Said Hina.
"I know it sounds kind of dumb." Said Haru.
"Like you…" said Hina.
"Hey!" yelled Haru.
"Come on! You walked right in to that." Said Hina.
"I know…" said Haru.
"Anyway…" sighed Hina.
"He needs real friends." Said Haru.
"What makes you think that?" asked Hina.
"Well he's asking a girl he only had a couple dates with to meet his family." Said Haru.
"Are you sure it was to meet his family?" asked Hina.
"I think…" said Haru, "I got it second hand…"
"But yeah… you do have a point." Said Hina .
"I do?" asked Haru.
"He's a world famous Quidditch Star… he wants someone who's clearly not a sycophant." Said Hina.
"Yeah…" said Haru.
"He needs a real friend…" said Hina.
"Yeah…" said Haru.
"I mean how many kids dop we know have no real friends?" asked Hina.
Haru didn't answer…
There were lot of alley kids they met in their travels who would be friendless without them…
"Yeah… you're right…" sighed Haru.
"I'm sure if you were here in different circumstances it might be the same for you…" said Hina.
If he wasn't sent to the other world is what she meant.
"Yeah… considering everything who knows…" sighed Haru.
Haru did sometimes wonder what the world would be like if he wasn't sent to the other world.
But it didn't really matter I had a good but sometimes scary life…
"So what's the plan?" asked Hina.
"Uh…" said Haru.
"You don't have a plan?" asked Hina.
Haru was silent.
"Seriously." said Hina.
"Well I just needed advice on whether or not I should try." Said Haru.
"Well… it's a good idea to try… but" said Hina.
"Okay! I'll try!" said Haru.
Hina sighed.
"You know what… you're not going to listen to me this point on so never mind…" sighed Hina.
And with that Haru began uh… it was wasn't really a plan…
But it was something…
On the day he was going to implement his idea.
"I'm sorry but what…" said Ron.
"I'm going to try to get him a real friend." Said Haru.
"It's a wonderful idea Haru… but I don't know if you're the best person to do it." Said Hermione.
"Don't worry it will all work out." Said Haru.
He finished off his food and headed towards the Slytherin table.
"So…" said Kaien, "Who wants to make some bets?"
"We shouldn't be doing it." Said Hermione.
"What afraid what's going to happen to your boyfriend?" asked Hina, "Berries or Galleons?"
"How about food." Said Ginny.
"You're only saying that because you have an unlimited surly of rubies." Said Ron then really didn't mind food, "So what's the best?"
"Hmmm… there's oh so many ways it could go wrong…" said Hina,
"Bit it would also go right…" said Maya.
"Okay looks like Maya will be on the side where it goes right." Said Kaien.
"Hey!" yelled Maya.
"Okay! Two bets!" said Hina.
"What are the two bets?" asked Ron .
"Okay… how long before Krum snaps and how long before it works…" said Hina.
"You're better on both?" asked Hermione unsure how to react.
"Oh come on we all know both will probably happen." Said Hina.
Hermione sighed when she said that.
IT was a normal day for them after all…
Meanwhile Haru had managed to approach Krum.
"Hey Krum! I wanted to talk to you about something." Said Haru.
Krum looked at the younger champion.
He would think that the younger was doing…
After all he was considered very strange.
"What did you want to talk about?" asked Krum.
"You don't have any real friends." Said Haru.
Krum stared at the young pirate boy.
"What?": he asked.
'I said you don't have any real friend." Said Haru.
"seriously?" asked Krum, "That's' why you wanted to talk to me…"
"Yeah is that a problem ?" asked Haru.
"No… it's not…" said Krum unsure what to say.
"Okay…" said Haru.
"I have something to do…" said Krum.
"Okay! Talk later then?" asked Haru.
Krum left deicing not to ever talk about what he brought up .
Though… that was a really bad idea.
But then again he didn't know Haru that well…
And so over the course of the next few weeks Haru would try to get him to talk about making real friends but the seeker would try to dodge him.
Though of course other things happened like an article about Krum and Hermione's relationship.
Which was somewhat awkward but it was somewhat strained like Rita Skeeter didn't want to anger someone.
Which Sirius suspected was Haru.
Which mention that they were strictly planktic friends and he was dating another girl.
Said article only increased Haru's goals to try to help him make real friends now that what was said was public.
There were also a few other things.
Like Ginny asking her friends if she talk to their parents about selling her rubies.
And other things like Percy visiting for Easter.
But of course it came back to Krum… who really needed to stop Haru.
"You have to stop this…" sighed Krum pulling Haru aside one day.
"Stop what?" asked Haru.
"Trying to get me to make friends." Said Krum, "Why are you really doing this?"
"Because you're lonely!" said Haru.
Krum froze when he said that.
"What?" asked Krum.
"I mean you asked Hermione to go to your home and meet your family only what… one date? That's' really weird." Said Haru.
Krum didn't know what to say…
After all… it was nearly impossible to find someone who liked him for him.
He was a world famous seeker after all.
It was nearly impossible for him to make real friends.
Then again there would probably be plenty of people out there who didn't care about quidditch.
Unfortunately… that topic would not be addressed for a while…
Because something very unexpected happened.
They heard a noise.
"What is it?" asked Krum.
"I don't know." Said Haru.
They both headed for where the sounds were coming from.
That was when they saw Barty Crouch. He looked kind of out of it. And he was raving about certain things.
"Hey are you okay?" asked Haru.
"He was always a good boy… he was the head boy after all…" said Barty.
He continued to rant about his son and how it was also his fault for something living the Dark Lord.
"Okay! We need to get Dumbledore." Said Haru.
"I'll stay with him." Said Krum, "And…"
He saw that Haru had made a portal.
"Oh right… you can do that." Said Krum.
All three them went through the portal.
Dumbledore was surprised but then he saw the shape that Barty was in.
"Bartemius …" said Dumbledore .
"There's something… there's something going on…" said Barty, "Something…. I have to tell you…"
Dumbledore could tell there was something very wrong.
"You boys should leave." Said Dumbledore.
Haru and Krum nodded hoping that he would get his help.
They left the addled man to get his help.
After all it was crazy what was going on.
"Do you think he'll be all right?" asked Krum.
"I don't know but I have a bad feeling about it…" said Haru.
And little did they know things were just getting started.
And also thanks to that Haru would forget about this little project for a while…
Which was somewhat unexpected but the feeling he got from that… yeah… it was enough to give up for the time being…
Next Time: the final event gets closer and closer... what will happen as it approaches? Find out next time!
