Now You See Me 2: Card Trick Scene
"I'm stronger than you!" Yang, Ruby, Nora and Cosmo sang.
Weiss' eye twitched as she growled at the ever growing annoyance of their singing, she started tapping her foot as the singing got louder and louder.
"WILL YOU DOLTS PLEASE SHUT UP!?" Weiss shouted as she snapped.
The three stopped as some of the others in the theater inched away from her out of fear of being yelled at.
"Geez Weiss, maybe you should just 'chill' out." Yang said with a smirk as everyone around her groaned.
"I don't get it." Cosmo said in confusion.
Ruby whispered into his ear and a second later he burst out laughing until tears flowed from his eyes.
"I still don't get it." Cosmo said with a happy grin and a shrug.
"Anyway!" Raven interrupted in annoyance "You said that you were gonna show us the greatest card trick ever?"
"Like magic?" Whitley asked with stars in his eyes.
"Kinda." Cosmo replied.
"Ooh this is gonna be so cool!" Saphron exclaimed as Adrien let out a cheer of excitement after seeing his mother.
"You like magic tricks?" Pyrrha asked.
"Like them? No, she loves them." Terra said as she nudged Saphron's elbow who blushed in response "She actually asked me out with a card trick."
"And that worked?" Qrow asked.
"Got me a wife and kid didn't I?" Saphron said with a smirk.
"Nice." Qrow said as he and Saphron fist-bumped in respect.
"This card trick better be something." Emerald said.
"It is! These guys aren't just magicians but their expert thieves." Cosmo said.
"Thieves?" Roman asked as his interest was piqued.
"Seriously? We're going to be watching a group of criminals?" Ironwood asked.
"Interesting." Cinder commented.
"I wonder who's gonna be in this universe." Ozpin commented with an interested hum.
"Probably Roman." Ruby answered.
"You know it Red!" Roman exclaimed proudly.
'He is the best at what he does.' Neo wrote.
"Well why don't you guys see for yourself!" Cosmo exclaimed as he started the universe and poofed to his seat.
The universe began by showing Nora, Mercury, Jaune and Roman in a secure room with Atlesian guards all around them. Nora took off her coat and handed it to Watts before strutting through the security gate as the Roman, Jaune and Mercury stood behind it.
"Well this is a weird combination." Ren said as he watched the group.
"I know right." Yang said as she was confused on how they could get together.
"I'm a criminal!?" Nora exclaimed in shock "Nooo!"
"Welcome to the dark side! Here we have no rules!" Roman said with a smirk.
"No rules? Ren…" Nora said as she looked at him with puppy dog eyes.
"No Nora." Ren said with a deadpan.
"Ah…" Nora said with a sad put but then she grinned happily as Ren handed her his bucket of popcorn.
"I'm a criminal too?" Jaune asked in surprise.
"Don't worry Jaune, you're not as bad as those degenerates." Weiss said as she gave the criminals a steely glare.
"You make it sound like it's a bad thing to commit a crime." Mercury said as he scoffed.
"It is!" Winter shouted.
"Why am I there?" Watts asked.
"Maybe you work for good old Atlas pal." Tyrian suggested with a shrug.
"Yippee…" Watts muttered as he rolled his eyes at the idea.
"This should be good." Salem said with a raised eyebrow.
Roman, Jaune and Mercury went over to a guard's desk and began emptying their pockets of any items.
"Y'know buffy is not a bad name for you," Roman said to Jaune as he placed his items down "Y'know buff, firm, taught…"
"Where are you going with this?" Cinder asked.
"I have no idea." Roman answered.
"That's good, did you just find a thesaurus somewhere?" Jaune asked sarcastically.
"New bio." Roman replied as he took off his belt and Mercury smirked at their banter.
"That's good, thank you." Jaune replied in turn as Roman spanked Jaune's behind with the belt before putting it down.
"Ok." Jaune commented at the uncomfortable spank.
"There we go." Roman said as he walked off to the gates.
"Wow, you guys seem like good friends." Ruby said, referring to the scene.
"Roman does seem like the type of guy to mess with you on your free time." Coco commented.
"This is so weird." Jaune said.
"Get joust to it Jaune, it only gets weirder." Cosmo said as he was giddy at the universes he wanted to show them.
"I don't like how friendly Jaune is with those two." Saphron said as she folded her arms.
"He's a different Arc remember?" Qrow reminded.
"Still don't like it." Saphron said.
Roman raised his arms as he walked through the gates and they glowed green with a ring. Mercury was next and the gates turned red as the alarm rang, the guards took out their batons and pushed him back.
Emerald face-palmed "Damn it Merc."
"Every single time." Cinder said as she shook her head.
"Hey! I'm not that bad." Mercury defended himself.
"Yeah but every mission we go on; you somehow manage to always almost get us caught." Emerald said with a glare.
"For the last time, the cheesecake wasn't my fault!" Mercury whined "I thought you said you forgave me anyway."
Emerald rolled her eyes as she muttered "Whatever…"
The guards pat him down as Watts looked at him suspiciously while Roman and Nora were wary.
"What are they planning?" Glynda asked with narrowed eyes.
"Some thieves." Vernal commented with a scoff at how they were caught so easily.
"I look like such a boring stiff." Watts complained.
"I don't usually do this but this time, I agree." Tyrian said with a laugh.
"Sorry, sorry." Mercury said as the guards took out his wallet and told him to go through the gates again, this time he entered successfully.
"Compliant to rules I see." Cinder said with a smirk.
Mercury rolled his eyes "Yeah…no."
Jaune passed through the gates successfully as he walked side by side with Mercury.
"The sticks metal, how are we gonna get it out?" Mercury whispered to Jaune.
"Yeah, I don't know." Jaune whispered back as he shook his head.
Ironwood focused as he studied how they were going to be able to rob something that is that well-guarded.
"This feels just like a heist." Ruby said in excitement.
"Good times…" Roman said joyfully as Neo smiled reminiscently at their old heists.
"This is the housing," Watts said as they entered a room with a large black technological cube in the center "820 million cubic miles of digi-cynetic resonance."
The cube parted as it was lowered by Watts, who was controlling it on a tablet.
"Digi what now?" Ruby asked in confusion.
"A super computer." Blake explained simply.
"Oh…" Yang and Ruby said in understanding.
"Marvelous." Penny said in admiration at the machine.
"Most impressive." Oobleck said.
"Indeed." Watts said as he stroked his moustache.
"Of course, what sets this apart from anything else on the planet is the processor." Watts said as he placed a device on the box "Which we playfully refer to as the uh, Magic Broomstick."
"That must be the dumbest name I have ever heard." Adam said.
"Give it a chance at least." Sienna said with a chuckle.
"The broomstick?" Nora asked.
"It has the power to clear the contents of any computing system on the planet and then magically sweep them into your bin." Watts explained.
"Oh, broomstick. Funny." Nora said with a slight laugh.
Some were shocked and surprised about the prowess the broomstick possessed.
"That is leagues above our kind of technology." Ironwood said in shock.
"That is a dangerous tool to have." Ozpin said as he thought of all the secrets and information that could be erased.
"Please tell me you guys are gonna steal that thing?" Emerald asked as she was giddy.
"Still think it's dumb?" Sienna asked.
"No…it's lame." Adam replied as he rolled his eyes.
Salem rolled her eye as well, she had tried the whole technology thing and found it to be both a bore and an inconvenience. She was more of the traditional and magical kind of person.
"Take a look, vet it however you'd like. Until highness will be taking bids on Monday." Watts said to them.
"Thank you-" Nora was about to say until Roman started dramatically sneezing.
"No way…" Yang said as she held in a laugh.
"You've gotta be kidding me." Cinder said at the dumb idea.
"Nice." Roman said with a smirk.
"Oh my god, I must be allergic to something in here." Roman said as he looked around.
"What could you possibly be allergic to in here? This room is somatically sealed." Watts said.
"Didn't think about that did ya?" Taiyang asked.
"We'll see." Roman replied.
Roman sneezed again then he pointed at Watts "That's it, I'm allergic to somatic seals."
"No bozo is gonna believe that." Winter said.
"Have you met Watts?" Hazel asked dully.
"I'll have you know that my IQ far exceeds yours! So I am no buffoon." Watts spat.
"Keep telling yourself that." Hazel said as he rolled his eyes.
"Yeah." Jaune agreed.
"That does happen." Nora tried to convince.
"Alright, get him away from the computer please." Watts said as the guards led Roman towards some scientists with Watts following them "We're gonna need some anti-bacterial."
"Oh my god, they actually believed him." Winter said in disbelief.
"What!?" Watts shouted at the obvious act he fell for.
"Told you." Hazel said as Watts glared at him.
"Dummy!" Adrien exclaimed.
"Yes he is~" Saphron cooed as she tickled him.
Nora watched as they walked off then she pulled out her hair pin and put it on her shoulder. Mercury, who stood behind her, took it and walked off to the side of the computer.
"Here we go." Neptune said.
"Do you think this is going to be as ingenious as Ozpin's tactics?" Glynda asked.
Ironwood shrugged "A better part of me is hoping they don't succeed but it would be nice to see how they actually manage to do it."
Mercury slid under the computer and opened up the bottom with the hair pin. He slid it open and bent the pins points to twist open a compartment. Meanwhile Roman held a bunch of tissues in hand as he acted sick.
"Thank you very much." Roman said as he reached out to hand Watts th used tissue who stepped back in disgust.
"Sorry about this," Jaune said as he stepped forward but was held back by a guard "Okay, I'm okay. This happens to him sometimes, it'll pass."
"Allergies, nothing you can do." Nora said.
"Well something you could do, doctor." Jaune said.
"Wait? NORA'S A DOCTOR!?" Yang exclaimed.
"Oum no!" Weiss shouted.
"C'mon guys, I'm not that bad." Nora said in slight offence.
"No offense Nora but you'd end up killing your patient rather than saving him." Blake said.
Nora gasped "I am appalled that you think so ill of me!"
"Guys calm down, she's probably pretending to be a doctor." Jaune suggested.
"Or I actually am!" Nora shouted.
Back under the machine, Mercury twisted the hair pin and this ejected a small metallic card. Mercury smirked as he took out a playing card and stuck the metallic one onto the playing card, he bent it a bit to see if it could and it did.
"Impressive Merc." Emerald said.
"Nice one kid." Roman said as he punched Mercury on the shoulder.
"You know it." Mercury said with a smirk.
"Now you just need to get out of there." Junior said.
"Easier said," Melanie started.
"Than done." Militia finished.
Ironwood frowned at how easy it was for them to just steal something so valuable.
"Remember when you joust to do that Qrow?" Summer asked.
"Yeah, a jail cell is not the best place to sleep in." Qrow chuckled at the day he was caught.
Mercury put the card in his pocket and slid the cover of the machine back in place, he slid out from under the machine as Roman was walked back to the group by Watts. He slid back between the group but Watts unfortunately noticed and eyed him suspiciously.
"Oh no…" Ruby said as the tension grew.
"This is so nerve-wracking." Velvet said.
"You said it." Yatsuhashi agreed.
Watts stepped forward as he stared at Mercury then nodded "Search them please."
"Damn." Mercury said as he clicked his tongue.
"You're good but not that good." Junior said with a sigh.
"I'm better." Emerald said with a smirk as Mercury growled.
"Whatever." He said as he folded his arms.
"Didn't we just do that?" Nora asked but her complaints were all for naught as they were pushed back and separated for their own searches.
"Somebody's gonna get caught." Weiss said with an amused smirk.
"You want Jaune to get caught?" Ruby asked.
"I didn't say Jaune, I said somebody." Weiss said with a shrug as she didn't really care either way, they were all just a bunch of thieves.
"Run a full diagnostic on the system." Watts said as the scientists got to work on the machine.
"This is completely unnecessary." Mercury said as he took off his jacket as Jaune took off his glasses.
'There goes my eye candy.' Pyrrha thought as she liked seeing Jaune with glasses on.
The guard told Mercury to raise his hands up and he did so but only showed the back as the card was on one of his palms. The guard looked at both hands and told him to turn them around and he did so while flipping the card so the guard couldn't see it.
"Okay I'm impressed." Blake said at the skills Mercury had.
"It just keeps getting better." Cosmo said with a laugh.
The guard turned Mercury around as he put his hands on the back of his head while covering the card. Nora was shown with her arms raised then Mercury was shown spreading his arms as the guard pat him down while the card was in his palm again.
"Next time we play cards, I wanna see your hands at all times." Roman said to Mercury with an impressed look.
Mercury smirked "Whatever you say pal."
He flipped the car again as the guard was now in front of him again. He flipped the card again and threw it in the air, catching it with his mouth then sliding it along his right arm and holding it between his elbow.
Everyone watched the skills Mercury had in shock and surprise.
"I've never seen a magician do that before!" Nora said in shock.
"That was so cool!" Ruby exclaimed.
"Those are some amazing skills he has." Qrow said as he was impressed.
"Teach me!" Sun begged to Mercury.
"Sorry kid, magician's code." Mercury said.
"We're the same age!" Sun shouted indignantly.
"Not the point." Mercury said.
"You're not even a magician." Cinder said with a questionable look.
"Other Mercury tells me different." Mercury said as Cinder and Emerald face-palmed.
The guard stood up straight and turned Mercury around, he led Mercury off to another part of the room but as Mercury was walking, he threw the card behind him and it flew towards Jaune who caught it.
"No way!" Weiss exclaimed in shock.
"Is that even possible?" Raven asked in surprise.
"With the right amount of practice, you can do anything." Mercury said as he flipped his own card between his fingers.
"Where'd you get that?" Yang asked as she looked at the card.
Mercury made the card disappear as he looked at her dumbly "Get what?"
Yang frowned at him and rolled her eyes as she looked back at the screen while Mercury and Emerald held in a laugh when his card was lodged in her hair.
Jaune put the card on his palm and raised his arms as the pat him down. He dropped the card and let it slip down through his jacket. Watts looked at him suspiciously but then looked back at the machine, Jaune raised his arm which let the card continue along his arm then his body and down to the hem of his pants.
"I so wanna learn magic now." Nora said in awe at the spectacle.
"Me to." Coco said.
"It does seem useful." Pyrrha said.
"Maybe you should start teaching it Oz? For espionage and such." Qrow suggested.
"YES!!" Ruby exclaimed as she agreed on the idea then looked to Ozpin "Please!"
"Maybe…" Ozpin said as he sipped his coffee while thinking about the idea.
"I wish I had those kinds of skills." Jaune said but then a card flew into his face, Jaune grunted as he looked at the card in confusion "What the…Mercury's Magnificent Magician's Mentorship?"
"Just a simple donation of a thousand Lien per hour and you can be a magician like me." Mercury said with a wink.
Saphron angrily grabbed the card "You mean a thief!?"
"Same thing really." Mercury answered with a shrug as Saphron ripped the card up.
A guard urged Nora towards a spot in the room as she pushed away from him.
"Hey, I can walk on my own." Nora said as the guard let go of her.
Ren narrowed his eyes as he watched the guard's hands closely and made sure he wasn't doing what he wasn't supposed to be doing.
Jaune sucked in his gut as the card slipped through his pants and down to his foot. It miraculously slid out and landed under Nora's heel as she stepped on it while she walked.
"Impossible!" Jacques exclaimed.
"I know!" Yang said with wide eyes "This Nora wears heels!"
"He meant the card Yang." Raven said with an eye-roll as Ruby and Nora giggled.
"I gotta see it to believe it and I'm actually seeing it so I believe!" Vernal said with wide eyes.
"These alternate versions of ourselves are so skilled." Summer said.
Nora pretended to trip as a guard caught her which gave her the chance to raise her leg and pick up the card. She looked towards Roman and Jaune who gave her uncertain looks a she held onto the guard. She let go and the guard instructed Nora to put her hands behind her neck which she did and hid the card in her hair as she raised her arms.
"Let's see what you can do Nora." Pyrrha said as she was excited to see her friend's skills.
"I hope it's cool." Nora said with equal excitement.
Nora was instructed to turn around and she did so while taking the card and putting it in her bra.
"Oh…wow…" Jaune said with a blush.
"Okay then…" Ren said with a blush of his own.
"Unorthodox but useful." Pyrrha commented as Nora's jaw dropped.
"That right there, was a Yang move." Blake said.
"Totally." Ruby and Weiss said.
"You got that right!" Yang said with a laugh.
The guard instructed Nora to raise her arms which she did as he started patting down her sides but she slapped him away.
"Hey! I'll do that myself." Nora said as she reached into her dress and took out her bra "We just met man, handsy, handsy, handsy."
"Nora!" Ren exclaimed with wide eyes and in shock.
"Why!?" Nora exclaimed as she covered her chest.
"I don't mind." Mercury said.
"I second that." Cardin said.
"Me too." Junior said.
Some were blushing at the sight while others were shocked.
"Why would she do that?" Ruby asked with a blush.
"Don't tell me the card is in…" Kali muttered with an amused smirk.
Nora showed them the bra and when she turned it around, she held the card in her hands.
"Incredible! This Nora is using what she has to offer to her advantage." Penny said.
"I don't wanna find any of you doing that, understand?" Glynda asked as she looked at all the students with a glare.
"Yes ma'am!" The students bellowed out of fear.
Nora threw the bra to the side as the guard looked her over.
"Hey!" Nora chortled as she whistled and pointed to her eyes with the card in hand "My eyes are up here man."
"Said every woman in their lives ever." Raven said as she rolled her eyes.
"I hate it when they just stare." Sienna said.
"It's annoying and degrading." Winter said with a growl.
"Someone actually stares at you, Ice queen?" Qrow asked a little too seriously than she's used to.
Winter looked at him with confusion "Sometimes, why?"
Qrow stared at her for a moment then smirked "That person must've been blind then."
Winter growled angrily as she started strangling the man even when he let out a choked laugh.
"I'll kill you! You damn drunk!" Winter shouted as Qrow laughed even more.
"Kinky…" Qrow choked out with a thumbs up as Winter immediately let go of him and gagged at the statement.
"I swear those two are gonna have some mind-blowing sex one day." Raven said as she shook her head.
"How do you like it?" Nora asked as she spanked the guard who gave her a warning look.
"What is with this group and spanking people?" Jaune asked.
Turns out, Nora actually put the card on the guard's belt and as he walked off, Roman managed to swipe it off him. Roman pretended to be coughing but he actually took some string from his jacket into his mouth then connected it to the card. Roman then stood with his arms spread next to Jaune who did the same.
"What grand card trick will you do Roman?" Cinder asked with slight interest.
"It's gonna be the best one, I guarantee it." Roman said with a confident smirk that betrayed his thoughts 'Please be the best one!'
Jaune reached out towards Roman's fingers and pulled the string slowly then yanked it. the card travelled along Roman's right arm then passed his chest and all the through his left arm and into Jaune's hand.
"Damn!" Mercury said as he was impressed by that one.
"That was a slick move, I'm not gonna lie." Yang said.
"We should try it." Ruby said excitedly.
"I don't think we're skilled enough for those kinds of card tricks Ruby." Blake said as Ruby groaned.
"Dang it." Ruby said with pout.
"I call that teamwork of the highest degree." Roman said with a smirk "Nice one Arc."
"I can't believe I'm in a team with Roman Torchwick and we actually work well together!" Jaune shouted in panic.
"Sorry…?" Ren said as he pat Jaune's back uncertainly.
Unfortunately, a guard noticed their exchange and called it out, Jaune was then surrounded by guards as they started searching him again.
"Turn around." A guard said to Jaune who was facing the wall even when all eyes were on him.
"Oh no…" Terra muttered as she rocked a sleeping Adrien in her arms.
"C'mon Jaune…" Saphron said.
"The suspense is killing me." Nora said as she gripped her seat tightly.
Jaune turned around with no card in hand or anything, he shrugged as the guards started searching him again.
"You got a little something…" Jaune said as he tried to fix the guard's collar but his hands were shoved away "You can't trust anybody."
The guard ignored him as he turned around and looked at Watts "They're clean."
"How!?" Weiss exclaimed in shock.
"I think he gave the card to the guard." Pyrrha assumed.
"Heh that rhymes." Nora said with a dumb smile.
"If so, how will they get it back?" Glynda asked.
"We'll just have to see." Ozpin replied.
"Do your final checks and get them out of here." Watts said dismissively.
A guard led Nora towards the exit as she said "Oh, we're walking this way again? Yay."
"Other you is weirdly sarcastic, you know that?" Ren asked.
"Isn't she cool?" Nora asked with a grin.
Jaune reached into his pockets and the card came out of a hidden sleeve in his jacket, he pushed the jacket as the card flipped out and threw it.
"Wow you were so wrong!" Emerald laughed as Pyrrha blushed embarrassingly.
"My mistake." Pyrrha said.
Jaune placed his hand on top of her with a smile "You can't be right all the time, but it was a good guess though."
Pyrrha smiled back as Saphron and Terra watched "Aww…"
Roman caught the card and raised his arms for a search, he looked at Nora who looked at him then looked at Mercury who shook his head.
"Why's he shaking his head?" Nora asked with a frown.
"Merc must think you're not good enough to get away with it." Emerald explained.
"Yeah you seem new to this type of thing." Mercury said.
"And Jaune doesn't?" Nora asked angrily.
"Look at him, he's perfectly calm. Clearly that universe's Arc knows what he's doing." Mercury argued.
"C'mon kid, give her a chance. She might surprise you." Roman said which surprised quite a few people.
"You trust her?" Mercury asked in disbelief.
"I don't trust anyone but I feel like taking a risk and I think other me does too." Roman said as he nodded to the screen and they looked to see.
Roman took the risk and threw the card at Nora who caught it with a loud clap, Roman cringed as Mercury held in a swear.
"Took a risk huh?" Mercury asked.
"How's that working out for you?" Cinder asked.
"Giver a chance." Roman said with an eye roll.
The guard turned around just to see Nora picking up her bra "See? What did I tell you man, we didn't have anything."
Nora walked to the exit and threw the card to Mercury along the way who caught it while patting the guard's back who was picking up his jacket "Thanks pal, appreciate that."
"Well?" Roman asked with a smirk of his own as Mercury scoffed while Neo silently laughed.
"Oh yeah! Mission accomplished!" Nora cheered.
"Wait until you guys are out of there at least." Weiss said with an eye roll.
Mercury put on his jacket again as he and the group were led out of the room. Mercury threw the card behind him and it flew between Jaune and Nora who couldn't catch it but Roman managed to catch it with his hat as he quickly put it on and started doing a little dance.
"Something about a big white dance floor, make me wanna boogie." Roman said as he started walking to the exit and Watts watched him in confusion "Thanks for having us."
"Okay that was really lucky!" Ruby said with wide eyes.
"Good job Roman." Sienna said as she had some more respect for the man.
Roman sighed with a smile as he pats his hat "I knew this thing was lucky."
"How will they get out though? Mercury did say it was made out of metal and I'm pretty sure that door is a metal detector, right?" Whitley asked.
"Another card trick?" Oscar suggested with a shrug.
Mercury passed through the gate which glowed green as Roman was walking towards them but a guard held him back.
"You guys are pretty serious about your security huh?" Roman asked as he took off his hat and took out the card before putting it back on.
"C'mon Torchwick, one more trick. You can do it." Cinder muttered.
"Are you actually supporting that guy." Emerald asked.
"He impressed me today." Cinder replied with a shrug.
Jaune passed through as Nora tried stalling but the guards weren't having it and she passed through the gate. Mercury walked up to a guard as he nodded at Roman.
"Ah sir, I think you still have my wallet? I gave it to you when I came in? It would be nice to leave with it?" Mercury asked as the guard nodded and searched his pockets.
"C'mon…" Ruby muttered as she chewed on her nails.
The room was quiet as everyone waited to see how they would manage to finish this legendary card trick.
"Wallet coming through." The guard said as he held up the wallet.
As he was handing it to Mercury, Jaune hit the gong which distracted everybody and Roman through the card on the ground and it ricochet off the ground and up into Nora's coat.
Roman stood up with a smirk on his face as he passed through the gates as they glowed green and picked up his stuff.
"That's everything right?" Nora asked.
"Yep." Mercury replied as Jaune joined the four as they all walked out of the building and the screen went dark.
Everyone's jaw dropped at the scene as they were shocked by such a display, Cosmo poofed to the front and grinned at them.
"Was that cool or what!?" Cosmo asked excitedly.
"That wasn't just cool, it was amazing!" Ruby gushed.
"Dude! That was literally the greatest card trick I have ever seen!" Sun exclaimed.
"Greatest robbery I've ever seen." Ironwood said as he shook his head in disbelief.
"I don't think my skills are as good as those four." Mercury said as he flipped his cards.
"Hey Yang, you got something in your hair." Taiyang said.
"My hair?" Yang asked as she reached behind her and did feel something, she took it and saw that it was a card with a drawing of Mercury sticking his tongue out and giving her a raspberry.
Yang growled and glared at him angrily "Really!?"
