James rushed into the Gryffindor common room to find Lily huddled up with Aiden on the other side. He could barely contain his anger as he watched the slimy git try to woo Lily. He'd had to warn him to get away from her at the end of fourth year after he found out he wanted to prove to his mates he could pull any girl in the school, even Lily Evans.

He was half way through marching over to yank him away and beat him to a pulp when he noticed a chair close to them where he'd be able to hear them unnoticed.

"This goes against everything I think's right" He thought to himself before pulling himself into the spot for the sake of helping Lily.

"You don't need to worry about James Potter" Aiden was reassuring her.

"He just… Have you ever had your head telling you one thing but your heart tells you another?" Lily still sounded frustrated and angry.

"I, ur, don't know. Why have you?"

"It's just that I've always seen goodness in him, I've seen him around school helping out first years when he thinks the Marauders aren't watching, and you can see in lessons even though he's pretending to chat to Sirius he's making notes. It's just that every time he opens his mouth it ruins it"

"Well clearly you should listen to your head" Aiden replied almost too quickly "after all you're so darn clever" He grinned and flicked his blonde hair out of his eyes.

Not wanting anything else to happen James got his wand out and whispered "Nemesco" as quietly as possible, blowing off a vase above the fireplace.

"Oh gosh" Lily jumped, snapping to her senses "Sorry I need to go back to the hall, I shouldn't have stormed away from Kara and Sasha"

"Um, Ok?" Aiden looked disappointed but let her go. As soon as the painting swung shut James leapt up from his spot, jumped over the sofa, and pinned Aiden down.

"I see what you're doing" He warned.

"I don't know what there is to see, I was just talking to the very beautiful Lily. I can't believe someone else hasn't tried to woo her before"

"Listen, git, you're going to what I'm about to say or suddenly you're going to have four guys hunting you down relentlessly until you're taken care of" Aiden nodded, terrified for his life considering how James was holding him.

"Lily, were on earth did you go?" Sasha demanded to know when they sat down with the others who were now joined by Remus and Peter. Lily hesitated before sitting down, glaring at Sirius but decided Peter and Remus weren't that bad.

"Just catching up on studying, and Aiden helped me that's all" Lily lied with a false smile.

"Right." Kara clearly didn't believe her considering she'd just run out of the hall, but she had more important stuff to talk about. "So Lils, guess who's got a girlfriend?" She asked excitedly.

"Oh Kara I'm so proud of you, when did you come out?" And everyone burst into laughter.

"Yeah hilarious, but nowhere near. Remus!" Sirius patted Remus on the shoulder and wolf whistled.

"No way!" She gasped, completely forgetting what had just happened "I mean, I'm not one to gossip, but, tell me everything!"

"Nothing! I keep telling this lot, me and Emmeline just went to Madam Pudifoots then walked round for a bit, nothing special" Remus said defensively.

"Oh my God Moony, what have you become! Madam Pudifoots! That's a soppy love place I can't believe you went there, you're a disgrace to the Marauder values!" Sirius said offended by Remus' actions.

"What, the Marauder values that say you must go out with someone once, then completely forget about them and move on?" Sasha laughed.

"I can't help it that there's only one of me to go around, they need to share me seeings as I am clearly the most gorgeous person in the school" Sirius bragged as he flicked his hair and pouted in a model like fashion sending everyone into fits of laughter again. "What?"

"Nothing, just I can't believe I'm best mates with someone so vain!" Kara gasped through her uncontrollable laughter.

"Yeah, well we all know you're all just using me for the popularity!" Sirius pointed out, but just got ignored.

"Anyway" Remus looked down and went red "Shesaiditwouldn'tworkout" he muttered as quickly as possible.

"What was that Mooners?" James put his hand to his ear and lent closer to him.

"SHE SAID IT WOULDN'T WORK OUT. It was stupid of me believing anyone would ever want to date me anyway" Remus sighed.

"Don't you dare say that Moony, you're fabulous, I'd date you" Sirius fluttered his eyelashes at him and blew kisses at him. Remus just slowly edged away looking worried.

"Anyway, me Lily and Kara have got homework to do for transfiguration, and I need someone to copy off soon!" Sasha exclaimed and began bustling the other two out the room, sensing how awkward things had just got "Haven't you as well?" She asked the Marauders.

"We're already great at transfiguration, you could call us professionals!" Sirius bragged, and got an elbow in the ribs from an anxious looking Remus.

"What he means is I've already done it, and he'll probably just steal it and put his name on it" Remus blurted out trying to change the subject in case his secret was revealed.

"That does sound like Sirius" Sasha laughed, and they were gone.

"Wow, I think I just enjoyed some time with the Marauders" Lily thought to herself as they left "Maybe I should listen to my heart"

As they entered the common room James was sat on the far end by the window, glaring towards the fireplace as if he was waiting for something to happen.

"James what are y…" Before Kara could finish questioning what was going on Aiden popped up from an armchair at the fireplace, a really false grin on his face.

"Lily!" He smiled, making his way towards her, every now and then nervously glancing at James "There's something I wanted to say" He stopped for a bit, as if considering what he was about to do. After shaking his head and throwing James another glance he carried on "I've always wanted to do this" he grabbed Lily's hand and pulled her towards him, planting his lips on hers right in front of James.

James had already run up the stairs to his dormitory looking furious before Lily pulled herself away "Aiden I've known you for a day" she stuttered, going red.

"And yet it feels like a life time" He half smiled, staring down at her.

"I need time" She mumbled before running past him and up her stairs.

Sasha and Kara had chased after her straight after, not noticing that Shanice was behind the portrait watching it happen, grinning after realizing James couldn't possibly still want Lily and rushing off to plan.

"Is it just me, or is Shanice Caster giving Prongs weird looks from over there?" Peter asked worriedly.

"You know Wormy, I was just thinking that!" Sirius cried out "God I feel sorry for you, Prongs. Why does she go for that clown look with all that lipstick? Did she accidentally head-butt her make-up bag?"

"I have no idea, probably, but it's pretty scary isn't it" Remus replied in a slightly disturbed tone.

"Guys just shut up will you? Maybe if I just ignore her she'll just go away" James asked, knowing this wouldn't work at all.

"Is she blind or something, Prongs is clearly planning on marrying my little Lilypop. Plus he actually has standards!" Sirius remarked, James just shifted about on the bench awkwardly.

"Yeah, not even I would go out with her, and I'm desperate!" Peter joked, then went quiet because he had just taken the mickey out of himself.

"Yeah, Wormy wouldn't, let alone Prongs!"

"I wonder what he's gonna do with her chasing him?"

"I am sat right here you know! God just shut up will you! I'm going to go and talk to myself in the hope of a sensible conversation" James cried out and left the table.

"You know, I might go with him," Remus quickly added and ran after him.

"Hey James" Shanice called after him, getting no reply.

When he and Remus got to the Gryffindor common room he marched up the wrong staircase in the midst of his anger, whilst Remus stood at the bottom waiting for James to realise his stupidity.

"Argh!" He heard James cry as the stairs turned into a slide and he came crashing down and landed in a heap with Remus at the bottom. "Why didn't you warn me!" He yelled at Remus.

"I thought it would be funny, and it was!" He chuckled, and got kicked in the shins by James as he tried heaving himself up, catching Remus off guard and making him fall over too.

Before they could get up Lily, Kara, and Sasha came running down the stairs and burst out laughing as soon as they saw them.

"Yeah, yeah, hilarious, now get us up!" James shouted. Lily heaved him up, and forgot herself completely for a second, realized, and let go of his hand, making him fall over all over again, and ran back up the stairs.

"I'll never win" James muttered to himself.

Lily had spent two days contemplating Aiden's gesture, and had spent breakfast and dinner both days laughing with him, he was almost too good to be true in her mind.

"Guys" She announced to Kara and Sasha at breakfast on the third day "I know I'm not the kind of person to make rash decisions"

"Understatement of the century" Kara butted in, shutting up after Lily gave her a death stare.

"And that's why I've decided to start doing what I think will make me happy without over analysing the outcomes. I'm going to accept his offer to take me to Hogsmeade on Saturday"

Kara and Sasha gasped and squealed "Oh my God he's adorable" Sasha babbled whilst Lily just blushed.

The Marauders, who were sat nearby, immediately started booing and throwing croissants at her while James tried to stop them.

"I don't need dating advice from you douchebags thank you very much" Lily announced before chucking a teacake back at them. Before they could continue their pastry-based attack Aiden swooped into the place next to Lily, quickly catching an incoming donut and tossing it away.

"I hope you haven't forgotten our picnic breakfast" He grinned at Lily, taking her hand and leading her from the hall as James glared so much he looked like his eyes were about to burst.

"You know I spent all of yesterday having my every move copied by Shanice Caster?" James sighed as he, the Marauders, and Kara and Sasha, who had started talking to them more since Lily went off with Aiden, lay by the fire.

"You just need to show that your heart belongs to another" Sirius said vaguely, clutching his heart "That you're caught in the most heartbreaking, also hopeless and painful to watch, love triangle"

"I wouldn't call it a love triangle, more of two people who like each other with the neighbourhood weirdo following them around" Kara laughed, getting hit with James' shoe "I hope you realize you're never getting this back" Kara retorted, sitting on it in protest.

"Forget about it, but how on earth are we going to make her shove off?" James whined "I mean I right out said it to her face last year, and she's still chasing me, it's horrible!"

"Your problem, Prongs, is that you're too nice" Remus pointed out "Your version of telling her to her face was carrying her books for her whilst mumbling about Lily for a bit, giving them back, saying bye, and running off"

"And she said goodbye too! I thought it was a permanent goodbye" Kara just sighed and patted James on the back.

"James, I don't want to massage your ego, but you're a super-hot, quidditch superstar, school genius, good guy. You could kill Violet and you'd still have a gigantic fan club following you around" James sat looking slightly too pleased with himself as Kara read off the list.

"You can't forget the fact that he's super clumsy, a massive show off, he's going blind, and needs to invest in a hair brush"

"Ok, well, it's been lovely having everyone judge me for a bit, but I'd really like to do it my way, so goodbye" James announced, getting up and flouncing out of the common room, leaving everyone in silent hysterics as they watched his half limp because of his missing shoe.

"Ok, I have an idea," Kara broke the laughter with her sudden wave of genius "All we have to do is get James and Lily together!"

"Yeah, like that's going to work, I mean, Prongs has been trying to do that for five years and it hasn't worked!" Remus reminded everyone.

"But he has been doing it himself without the help of moi, the love guru" Sasha beamed, Kara was about to ridiculed her when Peter walked through the door "I'll have the stupid douche outbreaks under control in no time"

"Why do you suddenly want James and Lily together? Surely you've had her telling you horror stories of him for five years"

"I think he'd be good for her, I know James, he only does that stuff when he gets nervous" Kara explained "And he only gets nervous about people he really cares about"

"What happened to Aiden?" Remus asked, eyebrows raised.

"Let's just say I heard something I hope is NOT true" she explained, shuddering and refusing to explain further.

Authors Note:

Whoops, forgot this last time! It's so frustrating writing about Lily hating James considering how in love I am with the story of their love. I have to stop myself constantly from having her forgive him completely and them running off together

P.S- You know just saying bye sound really lame, I'll have to think of something better, any ideas?
