Tragedy
"I love you".
Grey eyes surveyed the surroundings.
Green eyes searched out the next target.
"You… you… what...? Did you just say… that… you love me?"
From his place behind one of the ancient elder trees he could make out a silent crowd of people. All dressed in black.
Curse after curse shot out of his wand, each and every target being hit spot on. He was a trained professional after all.
"Yes. I love you. I have for a while now…"
One mournful cry was joined by another, and soon all he could hear were cries of despair.
He looked around for his partner, who he'd lost in the heat of the battle.
"Oh."
A lone tear slipped out of his eye.
An alarmed shout came from his right.
"Is that all you have to say?"
He wrapped his coat closer around him to keep out the chilly autumn air. Or perhaps, he was just trying to find a place as warm as his love's embrace.
He'd dropped his guard for just a second.
"No."
Had he been there for any other reason, he'd have found time to admire the beauty of this nearly untouched piece of land.
He had underestimated his enemy.
Soft lips met the ones of the grey eyed boy standing in front of him.
But now, he could only think about one thing.
A fatal mistake.
Their bodies melted together.
His attention was caught by a single leaf falling from the tree next to him. It was different from the others already lying on moist ground.
His eyes widened.
Their souls entwined.
It was still green. An almost unnaturally bright green… like his eyes. Eyes, which he'd never see again.
Then closed, forever.
Only to be ripped apart… by death.
