EXAMS ARE OVER! Blooming heck that took a lot out of me, but after 24 exams, 30.75 hours, and 1845 minutes (don't check my maths my brain is fried), I am back, and hopefully still have a small pool of readers left after ditching you for about 10 months. I've had to reread my entire story to find out what's happening, it was very hard trying to get through the first couple of chapters without cringing at how terrible they are and I WILL be editing those at the same time, I wasn't happy with the first chapter at all so there's a new beginning, a new prank, and a lot better grammar, so hope you enjoy and be sure to go back at see what you think
"Well, this is our last day of sixth year" Sirius announced to the group as they sat on the steps of the Grand Staircase.
"Ugh, I wonder how I did on that practice NEWT" Sasha said "I'm hoping for and E but I bet I ended up with a lousy T" She sighed.
"Oh, come on, don't let's talk about any exam rubbish!" James smiled "SUMMER HOLIDAYS!"
"Let me guess, you and Sirius are having a blowout holiday again? Where anything goes and you basically turn into five year olds?" Remus suggested.
"You make it seem like a bad thing" Sirius grinned "But surprisingly, no. Jamesy here and his dad are going on a skiing holiday and I stole enough money from my parents before I left to go with them – south of France here I come!"
"You're letting Sirius loose on a slippery surface with two sharp pointy sticks, and then following him?" Lily asked "You're the bravest person I've ever met" She laughed.
"Isn't it you're one year anniversary of being an item as well this holiday?" Kara asked waggling her finger between James and Lily.
"Oh yeah! I totally forgot!" James had been trying to keep the subject on the down-low because he had a surprise in store for Lily.
"Me too, anyway it's just going out, it's not like we're married" Lily joked "We probably won't do much"
"Nah" James lied, trying to hold back his imminent grin.
"We should really be packing" Remus the voice of reason pointed out.
"But I just ordered cake!" Sirius argued.
"Sirius, you're always ordering cake" James moaned trying to drag him out of the kitchens.
"Fiiiine"
"Aww" Sirius sighed as everyone else packed their bags and he lay eating the rest of his secret chocolate stash.
"What?" James asked from underneath a mountain of socks he'd found under his bed.
"We have to annul a statement from our wardrobe of vows, dares, and general scribblings because James found a miracle and got Lily to go out with him!"
"Oh yeah!" James smiled, there were going to be no more dares for him.
"But that was my entertainment for the year" Sirius sulked going over to Amos Diggory's old wardrobe to find the vow. When he found it James kicked the place on the wardrobe where it was, which was very hard because it was near the top.
"Goodbye vow, for you have brought me great please over the years" Sirius even went as far as to kneel down in front of it and bow.
"Wormtail?" James ignored Sirius' stupidity to see on the other side of the room Peter was looking at their map.
"Hm?" He asked thoughtfully.
"Who are you looking for? Mary? I thought she hadn't spoken to you since the ball" Sirius snickered.
"No!" Peter said defensively "I was just, er, looking for, for… Slughorn!"
"Riight" Remus, James, and Sirius chorused, completely not believing him. What they didn't know that both accusations were wrong, Peter was looking for the Slytherins, they were outside the Gryffindor common room waiting.
"Let's go down to the kitchens and say goodbye to Winnie then" Sirius suggested, Peter did nothing to stop them as they started down the stairs. "Not coming Peter? You never turn down the chance to go to the kitchens!"
"I'm not hungry" Sirius looked at him as though he was in deep shock, then laughed it off and continued down the stairs.
As soon as the portrait door swung open the Slytherins were on them trying to wrestle them to the floor.
"What the hell!" James shouted, letting out a flair from his wand so everyone stood back stunned. "What the hell do you want?" The three marauders on their own were quick and were able to kick the Slytherins out of the way and stand half way up the next stairs with their wands pointing at them all.
"It seems you have something that you shouldn't" Regulus glanced at Sirius.
"Oh shut up Regulus" Sirius sighed "I'd like someone who isn't a complete idiot to explain this to me, no-one? Oh well" Sirius laughed and tried to flounce past them but Bellatrix held him back with her wand.
"Heyya cuz" She cackled "Where do you think you're going?"
"I know you took the parchment from my robes Sirius" Regulus scowled at him.
"Oh for goodness sake, you mean the crumpled parchment that I snatched to write down prank ideas? The empty one with no meaning whatsoever?"
"I don't give a damn what you think it is, give it back!" Regulus threatened, moving towards him with his wand jabbing Sirius in the neck.
"You wouldn't dare" Sirius tried to sound cool, but his voice broke.
"Sirius you idiot, give him the bloody parchment!" James yelled at him, struggling against the arm holding his neck in an iron lock, struggling to breathe.
"Fine have the stupid parchment" Sirius scowled, crumpling it up into a ball and hitting Regulus in the face with it. Regulus grinned evilly before jabbing Sirius in the cheek with his wand.
"Pleasure doing business with you dearest brother" Regulus laughed before storming off with the rest of the Slytherins, pushing the skull mark which squirmed on his wrist against the parchment to make sure the message hadn't been ruined by Sirius' childish plans.
The date has been set,

"Well guys, it's the end of one of the best, and worst years, of my life, and I have you guys to thank for that" Sasha declared tearfully.
"I don't know whether to be flattered of offended" Sirius said uncertainly.
"Just shut up and give me a hug" Sasha exclaimed, rushing forwards and bringing everyone into a hug "You know I hate saying goodbye for so long.
"Sasha we're about to get on a train where we'll be sat next to each other for three hours" Lily laughed.
"Shut up and enjoy the moment" Sasha wept.
"Ok guys, we'll be meeting again in September, don't miss me too much, arrivederci!" Sirius cried dramatically before running onto the train.
"Right... well we better go catch up with the idiot" Remus laughed, dragging Peter onto the train leaving James, Lily, Sasha and Kara.
"So uhh, bye James" Kara called over Lily's shoulder awkwardly, obviously interrupting a moment, so she shuffled off awkwardly with Shasha.
"Oh God I hate soppy send offs. Let me just say this, James. You're a human being, which I like more than the other human beings. We will be seeing each other in less than two weeks so don't get yourself killed between then and now. Goodbye" Lilly smiled before kissing him on the cheek.
"Ever the romantic Lily" James smiled affectionately, about to lean in to kiss her properly before he caught site of the window "We seem to have an audience"
They both turned to see the Marauders, Kara and Sasha ducking down beneath the window. Laughing, James ignored them and kissed her anyway.
"I'm not going first!" Sirius remembered him fear of heights only once him, James, and his dad had got to the top of the highest ski slope and were about to go down it.
"Really Pads?" James sighed
"I'm sorry but the prospect of jumping down a massive hill on two pieces of wood and these metal things, I don't know what they are, when I need to do 'pizza' whatever that is to stop, and there are trees everywhere slightly scares me!"
"Wow James, you never told me he was a coward" James and his dad laughed together.
"Wawawawawaw, no-one calls Sirius Black a coward!" Sirius argued and in his stupid need to prove himself he just went for it and jumped down the hill, James yelled after him.
"SIRIUS I DIDN'T MEAN IT! YOU'LL KILL YOURSELF!" Quickly James sped after him, expertly weaving in and out of the poles, but he noticed a lot of them had been knocked to the floor "Sirius?" He called again.
"JAMES THIS IS AWESOME!" A faint voice screamed up the hill joyfully, James was about to let out a sigh of relief when a loud slamming noise echoed up the hill "Oh God" he thought to himself as he rushed to follow Sirius.
When James got to the bottom of the hill he found Sirius lying in a massive pile of snow behind a smashed advertising board. James tried to make his way over whilst clutching his side in laughter.
"It's not funny!" Sirius shouted through the snow.
"Oh but it is" James laughed, taking his hand and hauling him out of the snow.
"That was clearly just a practice fall to, you know, see what it's like? Trust me, it will not be happening again" Sirius huffed before skiing off and going straight into another person.
"I hear Sirius enjoyed the holiday then" Lily laughed when James came to pick her up.
"Oh my God the amount of times he fell over" James chuckled as he looked back on it "Anyway, Lils, we have a one year-aversary to celebrate" He grinned mysteriously.
"I'm worried as to where this is going" Lily said uncertainly.
"Don't be, I think you'll find you'll be pleasantly surprised." James led her out of the house. James had organised for a taxi to take them to the date, and as a wizard who'd spent most of his life using magical transportation he spent most of the journey mesmerized by it.
"So, are you going to tell me where we're going?" Lily asked questioningly out of the window.
"Of course not" James grinned until they pulled up.
"It's a field?" Lily looked around questioningly
"Ah, but do you remember which field?" James hinted, gesturing around. Lily looked around, squinting at every tree, leaf, and bench until her eyes widened.
"Oh gosh, it's the field where the fair was when we first started going out!"
"I'm glad you remembered or else I would have just taken you to a field on our anniversary" James breathed a sigh of relief before taking her hand "You may remember a certain fun house – oh the irony in that – and how it was right… here!" James stopped in front of a tepee hidden by a large oak tree, fairy lights strung over the entrance.
"James I was expecting a meal in the restaurant down the road… WOW" Lily beamed "I only got you a photo frame full of pictures of all of us, I've been totally beaten"
"Wait till you look inside" James grinned, pulling back the door and bowing like a waiter.
The tepee was pitch black until a mass on fairy lights lining the wall lit up, and a candelabra in the middle of a perfectly laid table lit. Stood by the table was Sirius in a suit and bow tie , a towel draped over his arm and a marker moustache drawn above his lip.
"Ah, madam Evans" He said in a terrible French accent "This is your table for the night, I hope you enjoy your meal as prepared by out gourmet chef… OUR GOURMET CHEF!" Remus whacked his head on the table as he jumped up.
"Shit!" He exclaimed, elbowing Sirius in the jaw as he reached up to clutch his head.
"OI!" Sirius slapped Remus back, starting a mini fight.
"Umm, guys?" James growled through gritted teeth "Kind of spoiling the atmosphere here"
"No it's brilliant!" Lily laughed, taking a seat"
"But it's not perfect" James moaned "Plus because of the time this bloody tepee took to set up we're late, it's already 3!"
"THREE!?" Sirius yelled, ripping off his tie and charging out of the tepee without another word.
"… brilliant service here" Lily giggled.
Sirius tensely walked down the street, getting slower the closer he got, a note being crumpled by his clenched fist. He opened it up again just to make sure he was in the right place.
Sirius,
I'm sorry I didn't tell you about the ball, please let me explain, meet me in our old treehouse opposite my house to talk Friday at 3:30
Kara
He arrived at the base of the ancient oak tree and started climbing the moss covered ladder, throwing himself in the treehouse coming face to face with Kara.
"You came!" She gasped
"Yes, hi Kara. Or should I say Cinderella" He rolled his eyes, digging his nails into his palms to hold back his anger.
"Let me explain…"
"No, first let me explain. Explain why I'm so angry because clearly you think it can just be fixed by an afternoon meeting in a treehouse. You found out how I felt, in that damn cave, and instead of letting me down lightly you kissed me, led me on, AND THEN GOT WITH SOMEONE ELSE"
"Sirius…"
"NO, YOU SAT THERE, IN A DIVINATION LESSON, SUCKING UP TO THAT ARSEHOLE WHEN I WAS RIGHT NEXT TO YOU. I LOVE YOU KARA SHAW AND I'M SORRY, BUT THAT'S NOT GOING ANYTIME SOON"
"But Sirius, Lily and Sasha set me up with that guy, I couldn't just ignore him"
"Oh no, just saying there was someone else and leaving it would be so hard for you" Sirius said in a mock caring voice. "and even after the embarrassment of being ditched in a lesson, you decided to mess me up even more AND PRETEND TO BE BLOODY CINDERELLA AT A BALL"
"I may have been wearing a mask but I promise, that was me being me, Sirius I made a mistake. Let's not fight about it"
"Really?" Sirius' heart was pounding.
"Really" Kara smiled. Sirius started to lean in before Kara put her hand on his chest "Wait"
"Dear God what now, you're sorry but you've decided to elope with Snivullus?"
"No" Kara laughed, but then went straight faced "I'm, ur, I'm leaving. My family are moving to Australia because of the war, and considering our families they knew they'd be targeted first" Sirius just stared at her in silence before skooching away and sliding down the rope ladder.
"Sirius" she whispered.
Author's note:
So guys, what do you think? Have endless exams totally ruined my writing? I have to say I forgot how long it took to write a chapter, I was meant to update about 5 days ago then I realized the further into a story you get the more you have to reread sections for references. Anyway REVIEW, I need feedback because I'm just starting out again, and
