I seriously don't know what happened with that gap, I was planning on posting the evening after the last but I just got totally distracted. This chapter is mainly out due to the reminder from a guest comment so thanks!

*6 ½ days left*

"LILY! JAMES!" Kara banged on the mermaid portrait with Sirius, Remus, Peter, and Sasha, all clutching sleeping bags and backpacks.

"Why did you agree to this?" James huffed as he and Lily shoved whatever they could into bags.

"She said she'd leave us alone until Friday if we did" Lily whined before finally throwing her backpack over her shoulder and grabbing James by the arm "Come on, what's the worst that could happen in an extremely dangerous forest full of deadly creatures" she shrugged before flinging open the painting and getting bombarded by the group.

"LET'S. GO. CAMPING!" Sirius yelled, jumping on James and ruffling his hair "Ok that doesn't sound as extreme as I thought but OH WELL!"

"Do you see what you've done Kara?" Sasha sighed but couldn't help laughing as Sirius forced James to give him a piggy back down the stairs.

When they reached the bottom of the stairs a group of 6th years went charging outside so they awkwardly attempted to throw the invisibility cloak over all of them, failed, and ended up crouch walking outside hoping to God no-body notices the dismembered feet running into the forest. The sixth years were being lectured by Mcgonagall as they tip toed past, holding their breaths so they wouldn't be noticed.

"This was a terrible idea" Sasha whispered as they finally got past and snuck down to the forest past Hagrid's hut "I mean most people look for a level spot near water, we're looking for a spot where we're not going to be ripped apart"

"Toughen up Sash, it's just one night" Kara slapped her on the back.

"Yeah I mean we know every inch of this forest now, it's the perfect place for leading our enemies" Sirius smiled to himself as the four of them led the group around the seemingly identical trees before they finally came out next to a large lake covered in a thin layer of fog framed by vines and trees.

"Wow, I didn't even know this was here" Lily gasped as they circled it trying to find a place to set up the tents.

"We come down to the lake whenever we have to hide from our problems" James explained, pulling out a chest from under a bush at the side of the lake "Just when it's day time…" He glanced around at the pitch black forest around the lake.

"It's ok little Prongsy, Pads is here to bring you light!" Sirius grinned looking cocky "Ah yes, here we have what I call a 'fire stick' stand back people this'll be big" He pushed everyone away and picked up a stick identical to the other around it before kneeling on the floor and rubbing the sticks together.

"He does realise he's a wizard right?" Sasha muttered to Remus as they all stood watching totally confused.

"Sometimes, Sash, I really don't know" Remus tutted, turning around and making a pile of sticks "Incendio" He pointed his wand at the pile and in seconds a blazing fire was in front of them.

"Pfft, if you want to do it the easy way" Sirius threw down his sticks, barged past everyone, and started warming his hands on the fire. Just as James was contemplating throwing him into the lake there was an eerie howl from the distance and everyone turned to him and Lily.

"Well we're asking for death staying down here" Lily nodded to the floor "We'll have to get into the trees"

"Yes. Then that way we take away the satisfaction from the creatures of killing us because the fall will do it first" Kara remarked, throwing her backpack onto a rock as if to mark her place. She grabbed it up again pretty quickly when they heard another howl "What do we do?"

Lily started by getting some pre-planned rope from her bag and ordering James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter up the tree using Wingardium Leviosa to lift the tent up into place while Sasha and Kara tied it into place. Lily sat out because, as she said, "Leading is the most important thing, and I can't do any hard work to make sure I do the leading right"

When they were finally up in the tree Sirius pulled out a torch and turned it on over his face ominously "Of course it's not a camping trip without ghost stories" He growled in a low, freaky voice.

"Oh God" Lily laughed

"Oh yes!" Sirius insisted.

"I don't think anything's scarier then you in that torch Pads" James shuffled back as Sirius started pulling faces at him.

"Do you really think this is a good idea Pads?" Peter looked worried.

"Aww, is Wormy scared?" Sirius pinched his cheeks.

"Probably just because of your terrible stories to be honest" James shivered as he remembered second year Halloween feast where Sirius had thought the winner of the best costume competition got a speech so he jumped up onto the Gryffindor table and 'blessed' them all with a tale of woe and nightmares. It ended up as more of a story of stupidity and a lot of axe murders.

"This is a tale of woe and nightmares" Sirius began.

"Oh no" James thought to himself.

"In this very woods, it happened. Obviously no-one talks about it or no-one would ever send their kids here again, but it was definitely here by the lake. Students used to come here all the time before it happened, have picnics and go camping. But one night the water in the lake was going to be tainted with blood"

"Boooo! Bring on the murders!" Kara cut him off mid story "Too much back story, all you need is some gruesome description of cut off limbs and your sorted, behold: He dragged what remained of his body over the shards of glass with the bloody stump where his hand used to be. His guts marking a trail behind him like bread crumbs through the forest. The hook had torn up half of him face and his eye oozed a reeking…."

"NO!" Lily put her hand over Kara's mouth "Horror stories need way more personal touches, that's just disgusting. Just listen and learn: They cuddled in their tent, the icy wind whipping at the door and branched scratched across it like nails on a chalkboard. They all knew they shouldn't have been there in the first place, the woods where beasts lurked, and howls echoed through the night. As they sat telling petty ghost stories it crept towards their tent, slowly getting closer, before..."

"No that's not going to work" James sighed and shook his head "That would only work if there was a possibility that could happen to us. Get your horror story acts together people!"

"Oh yeah? If you're so good go for-" Lily started to argue when something scraped down the side of the tent rendering everyone silent.

"Please tell me not all of us are in the tent?" Sasha whispered, but everyone raised their hand slowly. Another howl a lot closer to the tent made everybody jump, with Kara falling sideways straight into Sirius. They both looked at each other and leapt apart pretty quickly.

"Somebody's got to go outside" Remus suggested, looking around at everyone expectantly and sighing when everybody stared back at him "Why did I have to open my mouth"

He slowly opened the zip to the tent and crept outside. Everyone sat in silence and followed his shadow along the side of the tent listening out for any murdering. For ages there was silence until Remus cried out in shock and something clawed at the tent before branches snapped and there was silence.

"REMUS IS DEAD" Sasha cried, forgetting everything, leaping up, and jumping out of the tent, squinting around in the dark to find his remains before everyone else caught up.

"He must have been dragged off" Sirius said solemnly as they all stared into the woods already mourning.

"Umm… guys?" Remus called out from somewhere beneath them "I'm a little stuck"

"Moony!" James cheered, sitting down on the branch searching around before finding Remus dangling from a tangle of vines. The panic quickly left as they all burst out laughing at how helpless Remus looked.

"Get me out of this mess right now and let's get this over and done with" Remus growled, attempting to pull himself up and totally failing, swinging back, and hitting himself against the tree.

"But you're doing so well yourself!" James chuckled, crawling over with Sirius and heaving him back up the tree.

When they had clambered back into the tent Sirius tried to start another scary story, but Remus swiftly hit him over the head with a torch and shouted no at him.

"Ok then, Kara, where's the food? You took us away to prepare for this nighmare before dinner" Lily asked expectantly but couldn't help putting her head in her hands when Sirius grinned and pulled out a bag "Pass over the bloody cake then"

Just as the sun was coming up over Hogwarts deer were gathering around the lake to try and drink before the centaurs came out hunting. The only noise was the whistling wind and birds crowing, until the screams and shouts of the Marauders, Lily, Kara, and Sasha startled all wildlife in the area causing it to run away. The tent had come free from the tree and hit every branch on its way down, ending by rolling into the lake."THIS WAS A BLOODY STUPID IDEA" Lily screamed as she dragged herself out of the lake "WHY COULDN'T YOUR LIST JUST HAVE NORMAL STUFF ON IT LIKE LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE?"

"I don't even have any argument anymore" Kara groaned, checking herself over for serious injury on a nearby log.

"Is everyone alright?" James shouted.

"Hunky dory" Lily replied sarcastically raising her hand.

"Probably" Sasha's muffled shout came from behind a bush "Just let me tie my shirt together"

Sirius barked in his dog form before shaking off the water and re-drenching everyone.

"Cut in my hand but I'm not planning on doing much work anyway" Kara laughed and Remus grunted whilst lying in the sand.

"And Wormtail?" James waited for the whine but heard nothing "WORMTAIL?"

"Crap" Sirius had morphed back into a human and nodded at James and Remus before they all went diving into the lake searching desperately for Peter.

"OVER HERE!" Remus burst out of the water at waved at James and Sirius who dashed over and helped to drag Peter out of the lake. He lay spluttering on the side for a bit before looking up at his rescuers.

"You saved me" He whimpered in disbelief, coughing up some more water.

"Of course Wormy, that's what best mates are for right?" James grinned, patting his on the back and hauling him over his shoulder as Peter smiled weakly back at him. "Leave the tent we'll get it later, what about the bags?"

"About that…" Kara was walking up the bank with three bags: one alright, one slit down the side half empty, and one only empty apart from water and seaweed from the lake.

"Kara" Lily gritted her teeth, still picking weeds and soil from her hair.

"Yes?"

"Run"
