Eren was at a loss for words, everything that was so different for him. He checked his surroundings to see if there was something that he was familiar with, to his right he could see something that he recognized from his time on Marley, they were bikes but they looked slightly different from what he remembered, then Eren changed his gaze to something near to them. They were...
'...Are those cars?' He thought while taking a closer look 'If it wasn't for the four wheels thing, I wouldn't have guessed, they look smaller from what I remember'
"Oh! There you are!" A voice interrupted Eren's thoughts, he gaze upon the person who was calling him. It was a middle-age-man with grey eyes and black hair with signs of turning grey as well, and stubble on his chin. He was wearing a button u shirt with a loose red tie and dark grey pants. To the side of his legs, there was a little girl with dark brown hair done in a pair of short pigtails, wearing a knee-length pink and white dress.
"You must be Eren, gotta say you look more handsome in person than in the photos, hahaha." The man said jokingly while extending his arm for a handshake, but Eren simply frowned not trusting him "...Right you probably don't know me, let's see I'm Ryotaro Dojima. I'll be looking after you"
"...What? Why?" Eren replied raising an eyebrow.
"Well I'm doing a favor to an old friend of mine by taking care of you"
'Favor? friend of his? What the hell is he talking about? none of this is making sense. Then again I don't have a place to stay, even worse I don't know what I'm supposed to do, so I might as well play along' Eren thought while extending his hand to Dojima "O-oh you're right I remember now"
Dojima let out a smile and shook Eren's hand "Haha, well. Welcome to Inaba" Then Dojima looked at the little girl to his side and pulled her so Eren could see her better "This is my daughter Nanako" The little girl glanced up to Eren for a moment then she quickly looked away "Nanako, this is Eren he is going to be living with us for a while, why don't you say hi?"
Nanako seemed fidgety "...'lo" Eren could barely hear her then she quickly hide behind her father.
Dojima chucked "Hey now, what are you so shy for?" Nanako then slapped him on the back "Ow hahaha" somehow that left Eren somewhat amused and Nanako pouting "Anyways we should get going, my car is over there" Dojima started to walk away followed by Nanako.
Eren began to follow them noticing a strange-looking girl walking right past him, but he was stopped by a voice "...Hey" Eren stopped in the middle of his track 'Ugh what now?' Eren turned around to see a pale girl with brownish-black hair and green eyes, wearing a sleeveless white shirt, a short black necktie with a lot of pins on it, and a checkered skirt along with a black belt and a golden buckle that resembles a heart with wings. She had fingerless gloves as well they were black striped red and black long, dark gray heeled boots 'Guess people around here don't know simplicity' Eren took a note mentally.
"...You drop this" The girl had a small piece of folded paper in her hand, and Eren decided to take it "Umm thanks" The girl simply shrugged "Whatever, all I did was pick it up" She turned around and left
"...Umm okay" Eren couldn't help but feel awkward after that exchange, he unfolded the paper to see that it was an address but he didn't know where it led.
"Hey! What's wrong?" Dojima yelled from his car.
With that Eren put the paper in his pocket and made his way to Dojima's car. But before he got in the car he notice something in the reflection of the window 'What the fuck!?' He touched his face several times to check if it was real 'Am I sixteen again!?' Eren was a younger version of himself, he had the same look when he was training to become a scout, he took a look at what he was wearing. It was his long dark coat and white shirt, with dark pants and shoes. He remembers this attired very well from before the battle in Shiganshina began.
"Eren? are you feeling okay? you look a little pale" Dojima asked him.
"D-don't worry, I just feel a little tired that's all" Eren replied with a fake smile.
"... right" But Dojima wasn't buying it "Get in the car, it's going to be quite a long ride"
Indeed it was a long ride, but it help Eren collect his thoughts and analyze where was he. Eren watched buildings that looked way smaller than he was used to and the people looked oddly familiar to him, they almost looked 'Hizurians? Wait but Igor said that this wasn't my world, a similar race perhaps?' He ponders.
"Dad! I want to go to the bathroom!" Nanako suddenly spoke getting Eren out of his thoughts.
Dojima sighed "Guess is a good thing we're near the shopping district, I needed to fill the car anyway"
He made a stop at a place called 'Moel', Eren guessed that this is where you fill cars with fuel "Hi! Welcome to Moel!" The attendant greeted, Dojima and Nanako step out of the car, and the attendant directed where to find the bathrooms were to Nanako and Dojima told the attendant to fill the car up while he went to have a smoke. Leaving Eren and his thought alone 'At least some time alone will help me understand my situation better' But then a voice interrupted his thoughts "So, are you a foreign exchange student or something?" Eren sighed annoyed 'I guess not'
Noticing the annoyance on Eren's face, the attendant gave him an apologetic smile and rubbed his nape "Sorry sorry, but I couldn't help myself, you looked foreigner and we don't get those around these parts, so are you?"
Eren simply rolled his eyes and said "I guess so, yeah"
That answer just made the attendant more curious "Oh? You don't sound so sure" Eren gave him an annoyed glare "Hehe sorry again I guess is none of my business. But man I bet where you come from it must be lively" The attendant pointed to the streets " I mean there's nothing much to do here, there's a library, a tofu place, a Chinese restaurant, a textile shop and I believe there's a shrine down the street. You will most likely die of boredom"
"Mmmh I think is not that different from where I come from" Eren muttered.
"Still though, there's so little to do you'll either hang out with friends or do part-time jobs. Ah! speaking of which, we're looking for part-time help right now" He said while holding out his right hand for a handshake.
"I don't know, I barely know how things work around here"
"Hey, come on now at least give it some thought, we don't mind if you're a student" to Eren it almost sounded like the guy begging.
"Alright, but no promises" With that being said Eren shook his hand.
After filling up the car the attendant left just as Dojima and Nanako came back, but Eren suddenly felt exhausted like his head was killing him which didn't go unnoticed by Nanako "...Are you okay?" Nanako asked noticing that Eren was a little pale "Did you get car sick?"
"No, it's just I feel exhausted" Eren replied while rubbing his forehead "Hmm, you're probably tired from the trip" Dojima stated "We should get going so you can get some rest, the house is not that far away"
Dojima wasn't lying when he said that his house wasn't far away, the town seemed pretty small, now that Eren thought about it. He could easily walk around town without getting lost since everything was probably a few minutes away, so he made sure to memorize the streets in case he wanted to leave. Eren got out of the car followed by Nanako and stepped into the house after Dojima opened the door. The boy took a glance around the place he'd be staying, it was small, there was a kitchen, living room, a bathroom, two bedrooms, and stairs that led to the second floor, it looked kind of messy, especially the kitchen.
"I know it's not much but it's home to us," Dojima said as he closed the door behind him "Oh do you mind?" He asked while he pointed at Eren's shoes.
"Umm mind what?" Eren said as he looked at his shoes wondering if there was something wrong with them.
"I know it's not a custom where you come from, but here we take off our shoes every time we are in a house" Dojima stated "We like to avoid getting the floor dirty"
'That's the only reason?' Eren thought to himself and proceeded to take off his shoes "So where Am I going to sleep?"
"Upstairs to the left, the boxes with your stuff should be there too"
With that said, Eren went up to the second floor and open the door to his room, there was a sofa by the window, a small desk in front of the sofa, a study desk with a chair in the right corner, a cabinet, and closet were there too. But something between those two caught Eren's attention the most, it looked like a black box Eren got closer to it and noticed that it had glass in front of it, he could see his reflection 'Is this supposed to be a mirror?' Eren wonders 'Heh, Hange would be all over this thing inspecting it' He thought but quickly diminished that thought as he felt a sting in his chest.
Eren changes his gaze towards the two cardboard boxes on the floor, he opens them to see that it was filled with clothes for every occasion, there were shirts, pants, socks, and underwear 'I might as well put them in the cabinet' Eren started to put every clothe in order, but when he reached for the bottom of the box he pulled out something that reminds him of someone dear to him. It was a red scarf 'Is this some kind of sick joke!?' Eren thought enraged but then a knocking on the door startled him "Eren, dinner's ready!" It was Dojima calling him out.
"I-I heard you, I'll be down in a minute!" Eren calmed down and sigh as the put the scarf back in the box and head down to the living room.
Eren spotted Dojima and Nanako sitting around a small table in the middle of the living room, although they weren't sitting on chairs, it looked like they were sitting on pillows. He just hoped they were comfortable, once he sat he took a glance at the plate in front of him, it was nothing like he had seemed before. It looked like rolls made out of rice and 'Wait is that raw meat?' Now Eren was a bit hesitant about eating this.
"Let's have a toast," Dojima said as he and Nanako lift their drinks "I know everything is new to you, coming from another country must be hard, especially for a kid of your age" Dojima's face turned mournful "I-I'm sorry about your parents, believe me, no kid should go through what you went through, then he glanced over to his daughter who looked sad as well.
Eren was confused at these statements, he had so many questions but decided to keep playing along "Umm thanks"
Dojima sighed as he changed the conversation topic "I know this may be sudden for you but tomorrow you will be going to school. I cannot have you around the house doing anything and if you have any problem at school come to talk to me, I might be able to tutor you if I have the time for it. Still, we have rules in this house and I hope you follow them" He said sternly.
'His house his rules I guess' Eren thought "I'll do that" Still the idea of going to a school was intimidating, let alone the fact that Eren didn't know anything about this world made it even worse.
"Good, anyway let's eat" Then suddenly a beeping sound came from Dojima "Ugh, who's calling at this hour?" he got up and took out something from his pocket, to Eren it seemed like a small device and Dojima started talking to it "...Dojima speaking...Yeah? I see ... so where is it?... Alright I'm on my way" He put the device in his pocket "Looks like I made the right choice to skip the booze"
"Sorry but I gotta go to take care of some business. Go ahead and eat without me" He glanced at his daughter "I don't know how late I'll be. Nanako, you help him out, okay?"
"...Okay" Nanako responded in that down tone.
After that exchange, Dojima started to head outside "Nanako, it's raining out. What did you do with the laundry!?"
"I've already brought it in!"
"...Alright, well I'm off" With that being said Dojima was gone. Nanako then push a button from another device that was next to her plate, which looked slightly bigger than Dojima's device, then again Eren wasn't sure if those two were related in some way. Then that same black box that in Eren's room showed a person "-for this week. Next, let's take a look at the hourly breakdown of tomorrow's weather" 'Wait is there someone inside that box? How can she tell the weather?' "With storm clouds moving in from the west, expect rain throughout the day tomorrow in most areas" 'I'll keep that in mind for tomorrow'
"...Let's eat" Nanako spoke interrupting Eren's thoughts "Huh? oh, you're right, what am I supposed to eat it with?" Eren asks since he didn't have a fork or a spoon "You use those" Nanako said pointing at the right side of Eren's plate. There were two little sticks made out of wood '...How Am I supposed to eat with these?' Eren tried to thrust the roll with the sticks and tried lifting it but it ended up falling and it was starting to frustrate Eren.
Nanako let out a giggle "Haha that's not how you use it, look" Eren watched Nanako's hand and tried to mimic how she was holding the sticks, then he tried to pick up one roll from his plate, slowly but surely the roll was making it's to his mouth, but despite his efforts the roll fell on his pants, staining them '...You gotta be joking'
Another giggle came out from Nanako "It's fine you'll learn soon enough, I can give you a fork if you want"
"Yes, please that would be helpful" Once Nanako gave him the fork, he finally could savor one of those rolls. To his surprise it tasted really good, sure it was a little sour but not at the point of being disgusting.
"...This is boring." Nanako said and pressed a button on that device again, then the image in the black box changed 'Guess it never fails to impress me' " At Junes, every day is Customer Appreciation Day. Come see for yourself, and get in touch with our products!" A female voice said "Every day's great at your Junes!" That last said in a singing tone.
"Every day's great at your Junes!" Nanako repeated that last part signing as well while waving her left forearm to the sides with a big smile "Aren't you going to eat?" She asked
"O-oh right"
Eren was exhausted, after finishing his dinner and said goodnight to Nanako. He went straight up to his room and started digging through his cabinet to find clothes that he could sleep with, the boy found a dark green long sleeve loose polo shirt and grey pants to go with it.
After changing Eren rubbed his listlessly, not knowing what to make out of his current situation, just being thrown into a world where he has no knowledge was frustrating enough on its own 'Guess I finally found a word to describe this whole situation.' Frustration was the only word that came to Eren's mind.
With a deep sigh, he went to lie on his futon 'What Am I supposed to do?' With that thought in his head, he close his eyes and let himself sleep.
'Eren! Eren!'
'Why did you ever want to see the outside world?'
'The world needs Paradis to be the root of all evil...'
'It's the face of pieces of garbage I'm sick of seeing in the underground city...'
'I just can't believe it...you too.'

"AAAHH!" Eren woke up with a scream, grabbing his shirt and gasping profusely, rubbing his face he also notice that was sweating a lot as well 'Ugh...What the hell was that about? I remember hearing Armin, Captain Levi, Hange, Mikasa, and myself... and then...and then...' It didn't matter how much Eren tried, he just couldn't remember what happened after that.
A knock on the door caught his attention "Umm...breakfast's ready." It was Nanako
"Coming!" Eren replied as he heard Nanako's footsteps getting away, with a frown he stood up and began to stretch to prepare himself for what was to come.
Once he got down to the kitchen he saw Nanako staring at him with worry "Umm...Are you okay? I heard you scream inside your room."
"Don't worry it was just a nightmare" Eren said while looking away.
"Oh I see"
Noticing the awkwardness in the air Eren opted to change the topic of conversation "Did you cook those" Eren said pointing at the dishes in front of him and if he was honest with himself they smelled quite good.
She nodded "I can toast bread...and cook sunny-side-up eggs in the morning." The fact that she could make all this without anyone's help kind of surprised Eren "Dad can't cook so I buy dinner."
"So your dad hasn't come yet?"
"No, he always says he's too busy." Eren noticed how her head bowed a little bit.
"What about your mom?"
"I don't have a mom, she died in an accident." Eren felt ashamed, he looked at Nanako who seemed to be okay, something that caught him off guard was how she said it nonchalantly 'She is more resilient than I thought.'
"I'm sorry I didn't know."
"It's okay, at least I have a dad." Nanako started eating her breakfast "You're starting school today, right? My school's on the way, so ...let's go together." Nanako seemed somewhat restless with a smile on her face.
Eren simply nodded as he was eating his breakfast.
A young woman with short brown hair dressed in a green and yellow athletic jacket was slouching across her desk. Her name was Chie Satonaka, kung-fu lover and classmate of room 2-2 'Man...my muscles are killing me.' yesterday she spent all day trying to mimic some of the moves 'But once I practice enough I will be able to do them like in the movies!' She thought determined.
"Hey, guys have you heard?" One of the classmates on the right side of the room started whispering to the one behind him "A new transfer student is coming!"
"Oh, yea? from which city does he come from?" The other one asked.
"This is the best part, he is not from Japan."
"You gotta be joking, why would he come here there's nothing out here!"
"I hope he's handsome." One of the girls started gossiping with her group of friends, they started to giggle and fantasized.
Chie never liked gossip but even she finds all of this intriguing "So a transfer student, huh?" she whispers to herself "Hey Yukiko, you know something about it?"
"This is actually the first time I heard about it." Yukiko Amagi was Chie's childhood friend, she wore a red sweater on top of her uniform, black leggings, and a red headband decorating her black long hair "But I'm actually kind of curious."
"Yeah me too, and if they struggle I'll be there to help!" Chie said cheerfully.
'Of course, you will.' Yukiko thought narrowing her eyes.
A grunt coming from her back caught Chie's attention "Huh? Yosuke?...you look dead today."
Yosuke Hanamura. He had unkempt fawn-colored hair and brown eyes and he was also wearing the school uniform he also had a pair of orange headphones around his neck "I'd rather not talk about it"
Suddenly, the door burst open to reveal the current homeroom teacher Kinshirou Morooka better known as King Moron "Okay, all of you shut your mouths!" King Moron walked to his desk and stayed standing as he looked around with a stern look "As some of you may know, we got a new transfer student from Germany, the land of drunkards and degenerates." He looked out to the opened door and shouted "What the hell are you waiting for!? come in!"
Chie could definitely tell he was foreign, he had dark brown hair and his bangs fell in a natural, middle-parted, curtain-type style, and he was slightly tan, but the thing that stood out the most was his green eyes and he was wearing the standard Yasogami High School uniform.
"Oh wow, he's so cute!" A girl whispered.
"Are all german boys like him?"
"Man I feel bad for him, ending up in King Moron's class"
"Everyone shut it!" King Moron shouted, "Come on kid, introduce yourself and make it quick!" He said while gazing at Eren.
"My name is Eren Yeager, nice to meet you all." After saying King Moron turned to the chalkboard and started writing 'Eren Yega' that would the literal translation to his name "So the little punk here got kicked out from Germany and tossed out here in the boonies, most likely thought he was hot shit and that got in trouble." King Moron declared
Eren remain unfazed by King Moron's rant, he simply rolled his eyes in annoyance "Can I just sit already?"
"Yeah yeah, just don't try anything funny with the girls." King Moron dismisses him.
Eren decided to sit on the only available sit in the middle "Sheesh, what an asshole" Eren muttered to himself, but unknown to him someone else heard him.
"I know right? he's the worst. Well, we just have to hang in there for a year." the girl with brown hair who he sits next to whispers to him.
"Zip it you two!" It looks like those comments didn't go unnoticed.
'A year huh?...I've been through worse.'

"That's all for today. Normal lectures will start tomorrow." Eren didn't learn anything, not because he didn't understand the lecture, it was because there wasn't even a lecture to begin with. King Moron just went on and on about the 'old days' and how men are degenerates that only want sex 'Isn't that hypocritical? He's a man!' Eren thought genuinely wondering what was the thought process of King Moron's ideals.
Suddenly a sound followed by a voice caught his attention "Attention all teachers. Please report to the Faculty Office for a brief staff meeting. All students must return to their classroom and must not leave until further notice."
King Moron simply huff "Ugh, you all heard the announcer. Don't go anywhere until you heard otherwise." with that said he walked away.
Eren was still sitting on his desk while looking down at his lap. Everything happened so fast, from being in a blue room with a strange-looking man to being in a school. Eren's mind was a flood, he wasn't even sure why he agreed to be there or why is that Dojima took him to his home. Maybe a deeply hidden part of him wanted a chance in life, but overall he knew that he wouldn't be capable of living a normal life.
Then the announcer spoke once again "Attention all students, there has been an incident inside the school district. Police officers had been dispatched around the school zone. Please stay calm, contact your parents or guardians as soon as possible, and quickly leave the school grounds. Do not disturb the police officers. Head directly home."
"What did something happen?"
"Come on, let's take a look!"
'Did they hear the announcer at all? even the police are involved in.' Eren stood up from his desk and started walking away "Hey Eren, are you going home by yourself?" a voice called him out when he turned around he saw the same girl who was sitting next to him during the class and beside her, another girl was wearing a lot of red "Oh, almost forgot my name is Chie Satonaka" she said smiling and pointed to the girl next to her "and this is Yukiko Amagi"
"Sorry to bother you like this" Yukiko apologized, making Chie flustered.
"Come on Yukiko, don't apologize! It makes me look like I have no upbringing!" Chie shouted, "Also I just wanted to ask him a few things that all."
"Hmm...Alright, I'll go with you." Eren shrugged, he thought that he could get some insight about Inaba from these two.
But when they were walking away a student walked up to them. It was a nervous-looking Yosuke "Uh, Miss Satonaka...? This was awesome, like the way they moved was so amazing to see" Yosuke said while holding up what Eren assumed was a case "And...I'm so sorry, it was an accident! Please have mercy until my next paycheck!" He then started to run away.
"H-hey hold it!" Before Yosuke could make it out of the classroom, Chie swiftly kicked him in the stomach preventing him from escaping, it even made Eren and Yukiko wince. Chie huffed and open the case, gasping at what she saw when she open it.
"Ah! How could you!? the disk is cracked!" Chie shouted in pure fury "And I was planning on watching it again!"
"Chie, I swear it was an accident, I promise to make up to you when I get my next paycheck" Yosuke replied trying to grasp for some air from the kick he received.
"Hmph, you better!" She scolds him.
"Aren't you overreacting?" Eren asked her bluntly.
"What!?, this jerk deserved it!"
"I mean sure I get that you're mad at him but isn't kicking him taking it a bit far? Especially for whatever was inside that case."
That last comment made Chie's blood boil "Well this "whatever" has a name and it's called Trial of the Dragon! and it's the best kung fu movie in history and you're simply degrading that as if it is nothing! Every time I felt down this movie was always there to cheer me up with those majestic kung-fu moves! This movie means a lot to me, you jerk!" With that said Chie stormed out of the classroom.
Eren stood there dumbfounded at Chie's words "Wow, she's passionate about these things isn't she?" He thought out loud.
"Hehe, she definitely is" Yukiko replied with a slight giggle "Come on, we should catch up to her, oh and don't worry she isn't the type who holds grudges" Eren simply nodded in response, and both students left the classroom. Leaving a sore Yosuke alone.
"Yes, guys I'm fine thanks for asking!" Yosuke said out loud.
Once they were out of the school, Eren and Yukiko spotted Chie standing around waiting for them, but once they got closer Chie shoot Eren a glare, and Eren did not want to be on someone's bad side "Listen Chie, I'm sorry about what I've said before" He said apologetically.
Chie's demeanor softened "...Hmm, okay I'll that one slide since you're new here, but don't you dare to say something like that again, deal?" Chie offered him a handshake.
"Deal" Eren then shook her hand.
After that, the trio started walking away but they were stopped at the school's main gate by an ominous-looking boy with black hair and pale skin "You're Yuki right? Y-You, want to go hang out somewhere?"
This caught Yukiko by surprise "What...? Who are you?"
"Um...so are you coming or not?" The ominous-looking boy asked again.
Yukiko looked away feeling uncomfortable by what he asked "I-I'm not going"
"...Fine!" The boy retorted bugged by her answer and started trotting away.
"The hell did he want?" Eren said bluntly.
Chie turned her gaze to Eren "Wasn't it obvious? He asked Yukiko on a date"
"Huh? Really...?" Yukiko replied with wide eyes.
"Is that really how you ask someone on a date? The kid sounded more demanding than anything" Eren replied while crossing his arms.
"I gotta agree with you there, it was pretty creepy when she called her Yuki all of a sudden" Chie said and started looking around, she noticed that a lot of students were watching them "Umm...We should probably get moving, everyone's staring" With that being said Chie leads the way followed by Eren and Yukiko.
The walk was mostly silent, occasionally Eren would ask them about what they knew about Inaba, and Chie answered pretty much all of his questions she even mentioned The Amagi Inn a supposed hidden treasure, and how Yukiko is the next in line to take over the inn one day. Although Eren didn't care about that.
Chie didn't notice before but she felt a little bit intimidated by Eren's looks, his face showed a stoic expression but his eyes were completely dull devoid of any shine as if something horrible had happened to him before. Chie wanted to ask him about himself "So umm...Eren did you move here with your parents?"
"No, I live with my guardian and his daughter"
"Oh? Well, what about your parents?"
'Shit' Eren's eyes widen a little bit and then took a deep breath "They are dead" Eren knew that this was a shitty move but he would prefer people to know little about him and he felt that was the only way to stop her from asking questions.
Chie stared at him with wide eyes and Yukiko let out a gasp with her hand over her mouth "Oh my...we're sorry Eren, we didn't know" Yukiko said apologetically.
"It's fine, it's not like you killed them, right?" Eren said nonchalantly trying to ease the tension but he took a look at the two girls who were looking at him in sadness 'You nailed it Yeager' Eren slapped himself mentally.
Nobody was talking anymore, due to Eren's 'joke' the atmosphere had become tenser than it once was until something catches Chie's attention "Hey, what's that?" She said pointing at a crowd of people.
When they got closer they could hear a bunch of housewives talking "Wow. Who could imagine that hanging from an antenna?"
"I wanted to see it too"
" Uh, you got here too late...The police and fire department took it down just a moment ago"
"Well, I think it's terrifying. I can't believe a dead body showed up around here..."
"What did she just say? A dead body!?" Chie said out loud.
"Hey! kids what are you doing here!?" The three teens turned their heads to see a detective walking toward them. "Eren, you shouldn't be here"
Eren simply shook his head "We were just passing by, we didn't know about whatever is happening here" Now it was Eren's turn to question him "What are you doing here?"
Dojima let out a deep sigh while scratching the back of his neck "Yea, didn't get the chance to tell since I'm off early in the morning, but I'm a detective and I'm out here on the job"
'Guess that explains why I didn't see him this morning' Eren thought
"Wait you know this guy?" Chie asked and Eren simply nodded.
"My name is Ryotaro Dojima, I am...well Eren's guardian, Uuh... Well I hope you get along with him" Dojima's face changed to a more stern one "But you kids shouldn't be around here, this isn't a place for teenagers"
Then the trio watched as someone dashed and passed them before throwing up at the side of the road, which seem to piss off Dojima "Adachi! Didn't I tell you that if you keep acting like a rookie I was going to send you to do desk work!?"
"Sorry, boss" Adachi replied
Dojima looked back at the three teenagers and said "You heard me, you three go straight home" With that said Dojima started to walk back into the crime scene being followed by Adachi.
"A serial killer? here in I-Inaba?" Chie said with concern and Yukiko seemed a little bit tense.
"Dojima is right, we should probably go straight home, there's no telling what is out here" Eren said.
Yukiko nodded "Yes, you're right"
"Yea, we should probably to go Junes some other" Chie agreed
'Wait what's a Junes?' Eren thought
"Alright then we're taking off, starting tomorrow, neighbor, let's do our best!" Chie said with an optimistic tone.
"Umm...yea sure" Eren said unsure how to react to the girl's optimism, then everyone waved goodbye and Chie and Yukiko started walking away.
Yukiko turned to Chie and asked "So what did you think of him?"
"...Not much to be honest, he's kinda odd and he doesn't seem the kind of person that is expressive" Chie admitted
"Yea but then again, it's not like losing your parents would make you an expressive person" Yukiko replied.
"...Right" Chie said with a frown on her face feeling pity for Eren.

Yosuke's day wasn't off to a great start, he decided that it would be a good idea to speed up his bicycle so he wouldn't be late, but unfortunately for him, it backfire causing him to crash towards some trash bins and get himself stuck in one 'Man, this sucks!' Yosuke cursed inwardly "Please someone..."
"Stay still." A voice said, then Yosuke felt someone grabbing him from his legs and started pulling him out.
Once he got out, Yosuke wasted no time thanking his savior "Whew, you saved me. Thanks! umm..." Then he immediately recognizes him "Oh yea, you're that transfer student. Aaron Jager right?"
"It's Eren Yeager" The brunette retorted in annoyance.
"R-right sorry! My name is Yosuke Hanamura, nice to meet ya." He responded with a smile.
"Oh yeah, you're that guy got kicked by that Chie girl" Eren said recalling what happened the first day of school.
"Aww, man! come on you don't have to remind me!" Yosuke groaned.
"Whatever, are you ok?" Eren asked.
Yosuke nodded "Yea, don't worry it's not as bad as it looks"
"Wait has this happened before?"
"Ummh...n-no?" Yosuke responded nervously "H-hey have you heard? they found that announcer lady hanging from an antenna" He quickly said wanting to change the subject of conversation.
Eren simply frowns "Yea I was there" Yosuke stares at him with wide eyes as if he was in front of the actual murderer "I-I mean I was at the crime scene after everything happened!" Eren corrected himself.
"O-oh right, that makes sense" Yosuke said feeling a little awkward from that interaction, then he took a glance at his watch "Crap, we're gonna be late! You wanna a ride? it's a little squeaky, but it should be fine" Yosuke offered.
Eren shook his head "I think I'd rather walk"
"Uugh" Eren groaned as he rubbed his face 'It's finally over, that King Moron is so insufferable, even in his lectures it seems he cannot stop ranting'
"Hey!" Eren felt a light tap on his shoulder, he turned around to see that it was Yosuke "So, you getting used to this place?" Yosuke asked
"Well, yeah sort of" Eren replied.
"Wow, that was fast. You know there's not much to do around, but there's a certain charm about these places" Yosuke said smirking "Oh! have you heard about the local delicacy? It's grilled steak, man! I know about a place where you can get cheap. Wanna come, you helped me before so it's on me."
"I-" But before Eren could give an answer Chie approached them.
"What about me, huh? no apologies? Even after what you did to my "Trial of the dragon" Chie complained.
"Perfect timing when I'm talking about food..." Yosuke groaned.
"Hey, Yuki-" Chie turned around to see that her best friend was nowhere to be seen "Where did Yukiko go?"
Yosuke let out a sigh "Geez you're hopeless Chie, didn't you notice that she left just a while back?"
"She did?" Chie said with a dazed look.
"Yep, although she seemed in a little bit of a hurry, it's probably part of her training to take on the family business"
"Yeah you might be right" Chie said with a worried tone "Well, we should get going too"
"Huh? Do I seriously have to treat two people?" Yosuke said with wide eyes.
"Hey, it was your idea to invite me" Eren said teasingly.
"Jerk" Yosuke murmured.
Eren wouldn't lie to himself, this Junes place that they were at was pretty neat 'It's pretty much a marketplace, except quieter and less crowded' While he and Chie were waiting for Yosuke to bring the food, he started reminiscing about how he would accompany his mom to get groceries for the house, how Armin would get pick on by bullies making Eren and Mikasa come to his aid, and how Hannes would come around tease him while he was reeking of alcohol. Remembering moments like those made Eren crack a little smile which didn't go unnoticed by Chie who was sitting in front of him.
"Whatcha smiling at?" Chie asked curiously.
"Just remembering where I used to live" Eren replied "This Junes is pretty interesting. I see why you wanted to bring me here without my consent"
"Oh yeah, s-sorry for not telling you" She said while scratching her cheek nervously "But if you think about it I was doing you a favor, you know. Because from what it seems you're quite enjoying it here"
"Hmmph...I wouldn't say enjoy, but yeah I haven't seen a place like this before"
"Wait so, you are saying that the place where you come from doesn't have marketplaces?"
"It does have, it's just that they are more..." Eren replied as rubbed the back of his neck "simplistic?"
"Are you from some sort of Amish community?" Chie genuinely wondered.
'The hell is Amish?' "Well, I-" Before Eren could respond Yosuke came with a tray of food.
Once he placed the tray on the table Chie narrowed her eyes "What!? this ain't grilled steak, these are takoyaki!"
"Well since you decided to hop on the freeloader train, I had to change my plan" Yosuke shrugged.
"Still, that's no reason to take us to your place" Chie retorted.
"Uh? your place? do you live here or something?" Eren asked.
"What? no, I moved here from another city. This location just opened up, and my dad was assigned to manage it. So our entire family came out here" Yosuke answered then lift his as in a sign of toast "This is to welcome you to town, Satonaka, yours is on me too"
"Yeah, I know" Then she took a takoyaki and ate it "Hmm...Is not bad, but I still prefer the one they make in the shopping district. I haven't been there in a long time, a lot of stores there started closing, and...Oh, uh..."
Yosuke frowned "Hey now, you can't blame it all on Junes, can you?" He averted his gaze "Hey...It's Saki-senpai! Sorry, be right back"
"Who's she?" Eren asked.
"That's Saki Konishi. Her family runs a liquor store in the shopping district...I think she's working here part-time, though" Chie responded.
Eren saw her from afar she had wavy light-brown hair and brown eyes, she was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and an apron. Eren then notice that she was coming toward him "Hi, are you the new transfer student?" Saki asked and Eren simply nodded "It must be nice to have someone else from the big city to talk to, huh? I don't see Hana-chan hanging out with the other guys much"
"Uh-Not necessarily..." Yosuke retired nervously.
"He doesn't have too many friends, so I hope you get along well. Hana-chan's a good guy, but he can get nosy sometimes. You gotta tell him right to his face when he starts to annoy you"
"I'll keep that in mind" Eren said looking at her weirdly.
Saki giggle "Hehe, I'm joking"
"C-C'mon, Senpai. There's no need to worry about something like that"
"Well, my break's just about over. Back to work I go...Laters!" That being said she started walking off.
"Oh, uh, Senpai...!" Yosuke tried to reach her but she was already gone "Hahaha, Saki-senpai says I'm annoying, but she's even nosier than me. She has a younger brother, and she treats me pretty much the same way..."
"Ohhh, you don't want her treating you like a brother, huh? Haha, I get it...So that's how it is.." Chie said teasingly.
"I don't know about that" Eren intervened "She seemed pretty annoyed when she was talking to you Yosuke, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't in a joking matter"
"What? no dude, it's not like that" Yosuke denied "She can be a little rough at times but I'm sure she doesn't mean it"
Eren rolled his eyes "Right...believe what you want"
"Hey, Yosuke! I know just the thing to cheer up that lovesick heart" Chie announce smiling "You ever hear of the Midnight Channel? You're supposed to look into a TV that's switched off, alone, exactly at midnight on a rainy night. While you're staring at your image, another person will appear on the screen...And they say that person's your soulmate"
" What? For a second, I thought you were actually going to say something useful...How can you get all excited over such a childish urban legend like that?" Yosuke replied not believing what Chie said.
"Childish, huh? You don't believe it, do you!?" Chie said in anger.
"Of course, I don't!"
"Well, what about you Eren?" She said pointing at him.
Eren simply shrugged "I'm not into ghost stuff"
"Geez, I can't believe you two, come on it's raining tonight. What can you lose if you do it!?" Chie complained.
Eren and Yosuke shared a glance and both gave in "Fine, we'll do it" Yosuke responded.
Chie simply smirked triumphantly.
Eren was laying on the couch of his room, he was waiting for the clock to hit midnight. Whether the legend was true or false he didn't care, one of the reasons why he's even doing this is so that Chie wouldn't nag him tomorrow. But another reason was that ever since he came here he was feeling restless, he couldn't sleep there are so many things eating out his head at the moment he cannot relax, but Eren thinks that it's how it should be.
He took a look at the clock, it indicated that it is midnight 'I should get this over with' He stood up and stare at the TV in front of him, yet nothing happened.
With a sigh, he turned away. But then a light came from behind him, it was the TV, it was on. Eren could only hear a screeching and hissing sound coming from the big TV.
Then the image on the TV changed to a woman, she looked distressed as if she was begging for help 'Is this supposed to be my soul mate?'
Suddenly Eren's started hurting, he kneeled in pain.
"I...am thou..."
"Thou art I..."
"Thou art the one who opens the door..."
Eren felt as if something or someone was calling him from the TV, he stood up and touch it. Once he did the TV started pulling him in "What the hell!?" With all his strengths Eren started to pull out, but when he did, he hits his head on the little table behind him "Auuugh!"
"Are you okay" It was little Nanako.
"Yea, I just tripped" Eren replied.
"Well, goodnight"
Eren stood up 'Is it normal for these TV things to do this?' He took a glance at the TV again 'I should probably tell Dojima to get rid of it'
