Johnny's Testies 10th Anniversary Author's Notes
Well It's time to look back on another one of my "classics" if one could call them that. It's another quick one written two days after "Snotty's Fun Farm" which would be the most productive I've been on this site since new years 2011. Big shock this time, I actually wrote about something that was still on the air if only because Johnny Test was running for what felt like forever.
While some fans in school back then claim the show was good just for the first season before going downhill as early as season 2 I never liked the show from the start, my first perceptions was pretty much the same as most in that it was a Dexter's Laboratory rip-off which would turn out to be false after I learned some time later as the show was pitched before Dexter was on the air. Now I do kind of regret making a Test story since it lumps me into the same boat of those DeviantArt spastics that predominantly make shitty hate art in MSpaint all day. Believe it or not though I actually like some of the things I write about but most importantly I mainly wrote these stories out of boredom. Anyways, I bet you could search Johnny Test in DeviantArt and see hate art flooding the search results, which I'm about to check out now... (Searches "Johnny Test" in DeviantArt) It's flooded all right but it's not hate art and now I envy the blind. Today's lesson is never search on DeviantArt period!
Starting off we have disclaimer stating that there are no author's notes for this story which is just as well because I don't think the notes I put at the beginning of the stories were even funny. The story begins with a premise that I stole from a Jimmy Neutron trollfic that was long since removed and I don't remember anything more about it except Jimmy being a peeping Tom therein. I don't know why the hell Johnny would disclose details on his masturbation method to Dukey or why he was selective about how Dukey could help him out. Following a tired-ass "preachers are nutjobs" joke we are presented with Dukey's death which was taken directly from the film Eden Lake which I saw not long before where the hoodie gang kill the Asian kid in the same manner which apparently is called "necklacing" nonetheless this was probably the most shocking death in my stories since "Donkey's Greatest Prank". Johnny's death was the typical emo style "slash wrist till bleed out" which was probably getting off easier than Dukey but now that I think about it I just kinda jumped to Johnny's death after merely skimming over the torment he receives in jail. Had I wrote this back in that January I probably would've went into Johnny's ordeal in much more barbaric detail.
So that sums up my retrospective of the whole story in that single paragraph above. I'm disappointed that outside of Dukey's death this lacked the bite of my earlier works and that there's not a single reference of the show's rampant overuse of whip crack sound effects. After publication I went on another hiatus from writing for three weeks because the last three crappy stories were apparently enough to knock the wind out of me.
