Olivia turned away and waited and waited and there was nothing.

"Of course," she said with water gathering her eyes as she stood from the bed.

"Are you keeping it?" Fitz asked.

Olivia didn't answer him. Fitz walked around the bed and stopped in front of her. They were both still naked. "Are you keeping it?" He asked again. He waited for her answer and there was none.

"Why won't you answer me?"

Olivia turned her face and Fitz sighed, frustrated, and lifted her around his waist. He planted his hands firmly against her ass and looked her in the eye. "Are you keeping the kid or not?"

Olivia finally answered with a nod, "yeah."

Fitz smiled, "good."

"Good?" Olivia question, confused.

"Yes. good."

Fitz moved his hands to her waist and hugged her closer, squishing her breasts against his chest.

"I'm still working on believing it but this...this is good."

Olivia wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, "Thank you," she said with tears in her eyes.

"For what?" Fitz asked.

Olivia hugged him tighter, squeezing him but she didn't answer.

"Oh-god, okay, let go," Fitz said laughing.

"No!" she said with a smile then she relented and leaned up.

"Gimme a kiss," Fitz said.

Olivia leaned down and kissed him only to feel him spank her ass softly.

"Ahhh," she yelped and giggled.

Fitz walked to the table and sat her on top of it. He took her salad from behind her and fed her a piece of avocado with the fork.

"I knew something was off but you cry so much just regularly it's hard to tell."

"I have been crying a lot, I just can't stop myself. I'm terrified. This is not how I expected this to happen, my first child. You have unprotected sex and still, you just don't think it'll happen and I don't know if it's biology, I don't know what it is, but I'm pregnant and I'm terrified because I don't know what it means."

"You don't have to be terrified, not with me," Fitz said as he stared down at her, "this is big and I didn't expect it but I'm not surprised. Your pussy is magical, what I am surprised about is that you haven't been pregnant before."

Olivia laughed, "Fitz..."

"Look, there's a lot that's gonna have to happen and a lot that's gonna change but I'll do whatever I have to do for our kid." Fitz smiled, "and for you."

Olivia rolled her eyes and turned her face, "you're gonna make me cry so stop."

"Yeah, you should stop that," he teased as he leaned in and kissed the blade of her shoulder. "I'm guessing your mom knows?"

"She found out when I did and she made clear doesn't want to have anything to do with me or the baby and so not only would I be a single mom but the person I'm closest to wanted nothing to do with me so I'd be totally alone. That and trying to figure out how I'd manage working as much as I do with a newborn."

"Was it ever a choice for you? To have my heir or not?"

"You're heir?" Olivia said.

"My heir apparent, yeah."

Olivia laughed, "It never occurred to me that I shouldn't."

"Good." Fitz sighed, "this is your first pregnancy, you shouldn't be scared, you shouldn't be alone and you shouldn't be stressed out."

"Like you said, there's a lot to consider, Fitz. Even if I make it through the pregnancy, we both have two different schedules. You work - and I used the word work loosely-"

Fitz chuckled at her quip.

"And live in Europe."

"We have months to get our shit together."

Olivia nodded.

"How far along are you?"

"5 weeks and 5 days. I had an ultrasound."

"You did? Without me?" Fitz feigned hurt.

"How was I supposed to know you'd show up 3 days later," Olivia said with a smile.

"Come on, eat," Fitz said.

Olivia nodded, remembering she hadn't finished her salad. Fitz fed her another bite then Fitz took his burger from his plate and took a few more bites.

"So after I'm done here can I eat your hairy pussy or-"

Olivia covered her mouth and laughed hysterically with a mouth full of salad.

"How was I supposed to know I was going to see you today, much less have sex with you." Olivia looked down at her crotch. She's been trimming it but she hadn't waxed since her time with Fitz.

"That was fucking great."

Olivia rolled her eyes, "I bet you say that to all the girls."

"You're wrong."

Olivia took the fork from him and stuffed another bite of her salad in her mouth, avoiding his gaze.

He smiled, "I told you what I want. Now it's up to you."

"What do you want?" Olivia asked, feigning ignorance.

"I want you. Why do you think I'm here."

"Fitz-"

"Don't Fitz me. I gave you a month. I left you alone for a month so you could figure out what you wanted. By now, you should know if everything you felt when you were with me was real."

"That's not fair- I didn't know you were going to come back," Olivia retorted.

"Really?"

She sighed, "Not at first but as more time passed, I figured you wouldn't."

"Well, I'm here and we have a kid on the way and I'm not scared or nervous or anything. It's up to you now."

"It's not that easy-"

"That's what you're saying. That's not what I'm saying."

"I'm scared that it won't work. We've only known each other for two weeks and out of the two weeks, we may have spent 5 days together. Trying before I found out we were pregnant is one thing- it was exciting...but now, if it ends badly."

"Then say no."

Olivia took a breath, "What would happen if I said no?"

"I'd leave you alone," Fitz said with a smile, "but you wouldn't be able to get rid of me because my seed is in there. You're a little bit trapped now."

Olivia smiled.

"You're very persistent, I didn't think you'd just give up."

Fitz moved between her legs.

"You haven't seen persistent."

"Really, so getting your guys to stalk-"

"-Protect," Fitz corrected with a smile.

"Stalk," Olivia repeated, "me for over a month just so you can come back to me isn't persistent."

Fitz shrugged.

Olivia closed her eyes and sighed, "I'm scared. The life you live, the things you do- they scare me, you know and now I'm pregnant too, and still I just, I don't want you to leave. Thinking about you leaving has been making me crazy all night and you just got here."

Fitz nodded, "I'd never let anything happen to you."

"I believe you."

It was silent for a moment then Olivia continued after taking a deep breath.

"If we do this you have to be here and you have to spend time with me. You can't just buy me things. You have to spend time with me because I'll want to see you and I want to know you as much as I hate to admit it."

Fitz chuckled. "Done but you have to ease up, you have to let me help you and take care of you. It's not just you anymore, it's you and my kid and for some reason, you like to make your life harder-"

"-That's not true."

"It's kinda true."

"Okay fine but when I have said you have to be here I mean often."

"How often is that?"

"A few days every two weeks and you can do it when I have days off and I'll try to pool my days off altogether so I'll actually be able to be with you when you're here."

"Okay."

Olivia took a breath, "fine."

Fitz smiled, "look at us, making plans like parents."

Olivia chuckled, "I can't believe this is how my day is ending. This seemed impossible a couple of hours ago."

"I like a dramatic entrance and you happen to like a dramatic exit."

Olivia smiled and ate more of her salad.

"Come with me to thanksgiving. We'll tell my parents."

"Oh-no, no, no, I can't deal with more disapproving parents."

"You've got it all wrong. I'm gonna have to pull my mom off you when she finds out. She's always wanted a grandkid. She hasn't shut up about it since I introduced her to my high school girlfriend."

"You know it's bad luck to tell anyone you're pregnant during the 1st trimester."

"Do you really believe that?"

"Not really but I can have a miscarriage during my first trimester. It's actually not uncommon."

Fitz leaned over and kissed her.

"Come with me. We have to start somewhere…"

"I have thanksgiving off technically from the hospital but I finish my shift at 6am and I have a shift at the restaurant at 3."

"Stop playing, you don't work at the restaurant anymore."

"What?"

"What?" Fitz repeated.

"It's not funny."

"You don't work there, not since like 10 minutes ago when you told me you were pregnant. It's an 8-hour flight. We'll get there close to 3 pm if we leave as soon as you get out, which is perfect so my mom can't annoy me during the day."

"Fitz, I can't just quit- I have bills and debt-"

"Do you have debt?"

"What?"

"Are you sure you have debt?"

"Fitz…"

Fitz stepped back, "close your legs or I'm gonna fuck you again."

Olivia laughed and closed her legs, afraid of another onslaught but wanting it badly.

He took his beer from the ice pan and opened it with a can opener secreted in the pan. He took a gulp and walked to the bed.

Olivia ate the last of her salad and hopped off the table and crawled beside him on the bed.

"You start at 6am right?"

"Why do you know that?" Olivia teased.

Fitz checked his phone on the nightstand. It was now early morning.

"Get some rest, I'm gonna take you home to grab some stuff and then drop you to work."

Olivia smiled, "okay."

Fitz pulled her closer and wrapped his arm around her.

"Kiss me," Olivia entreated.

Fitz pulled her around to him and gave her a wet, sloppy kiss.

"Alright go to sleep, I'm getting a semi."

Olivia smiled and then rested her head against his chest and before she knew it she was asleep.

Olivia woke on her first alarm. She was feeling absolutely exhausted.

Everything came rushing back as she took in her surroundings and she had to turn behind her to see Fitz just to make sure it wasn't some sick dream. It had all happened. She told him about their baby and he was happy, he was making plans and for the first time since she found out she was pregnant, she had a moment to decide how she felt about her pregnancy. One that didn't involve sadness or terror. She could try to process that she was pregnant with her first child and find some excitement in that fact.

She took a breath and sat up, slowly moving Fitz's arm from around her. It was 4:12 am.

The moment she got his arms from around her Fitz pulled her back.

"Where are you going?" he asked, sleepily.

"I have to shower and get ready for work."

He groaned and let her go then turned on his back and stared at the ceiling. His erection, in moments, formed and pointed to the air under the sheets.

Olivia smiled, "do you get morning erections a lot?"

He sat up and smirked "you'll find out,", then moved to the edge of the bed and picked up the phone. He dialed down to room service and waited for an answer.

"Send up a breakfast platter with orange juice. I'll be having sex in the shower so I won't be able to answer the door so just set it up for me, yeah" Fitz said.

Olivia's mouth fell open and she gasped then she smiled, "Fitz!" She scolded.

He hung up.

"That is so inappropriate-" she walked to the other side of the bed and grabbed her phone from where she'd snoozed her alarm. Maya called her almost 18 times and texted her 8 times. Abby called her 5 times.

"My mom called me almost 20 times," Olivia said as she opened her phone. Olivia's heart sank, "What if she heard us?"

"She didn't," Fitz said.

"Maybe she's just wondering where I am…"

Olivia opened her text message and saw Maya's texts asking where she was.

"Oh...she's wondering where I am." Olivia texted back after reading through all the texts, "I'm fine mom, don't worry." She checked the texts from Abby and realized that Maya had been calling her, asking where she was.

Olivia rested her phone on the bed and watched as Fitz stood and walked to her. His penis pointed at her like a loaded gun.

He pulled Olivia from the bed and lifted her. "Good morning."

Olivia wrapped her arms around him, "good morning."

Fitz carried her into the bathroom and stepped into the shower. He let her down and turned on the showerhead.

Fitz pressed her back against the wall and lifted her right leg over his arm to decrease their difference in size.

He did it so quickly Olivia gasped and then she felt him, sliding into her slowly. She reached up to him and wrapped her arms around him. Fitz lifted her higher and crashed his lips against hers, fucking her slowly against the wall as the warm water rained down on them.

He was so thick and so long that she was always at a loss for words when he was inside her. All she could do was close her eyes and enjoy him.

He had just begun when she felt him raise her higher against the wall and this his warm tongue flicked against her nipples.

"Ouuu-" she moaned.

Fitz loved the sound she made and instantly sucked harder.

"Ouuuu- yes, yesssss." Olivia grabbed a fistful of his hair roughly and pulled him into a kiss.

He smirked and reached down between the cheeks of her ass and slid his middle finger into her asshole. Instantly she stiffened and her walls gripped him tighter, both on his finger and cock.

"FUCK!" he cursed roughly as he lost rhythm. "you're gonna drive me fucking crazy."

"Don't stop-" Olivia begged breathlessly, "I need you."

He reached up around her neck, holding her against the wall to balance himself, and then he began thrusting again so fast she felt like it was vibrating. It was euphoric.

She felt like a wind-up toy being wound back until she couldn't take it anymore. Just the same, she felt Fitz panting against her lips. He was at the edge as well.

She grabbed him tighter and bit her lips as her eyes rolled back. She was salivating at the lips and her walls pulsed on him as he emptied unto her. They climaxed together and for a moment she was dizzy as her insides throbbed with pleasure. Fitz waited until she loosened in his arms and then he pulled out slowly.

Anal was quite an unsual sensation, there was so much tingling pleasure even as she orgasmed in her ass. When Fitz moved his finger, she frowned.

"No more," he said with a chuckle as he watched her expression, "you have work."

Twenty minutes later Fitz hoisted Olivia up on the vanity.

"You make me not want to go save lives today? I want to stay here and eat all day and have sex with you," she said with a smile.

"I'm a bad influence on you already."

Olivia smiled, "my mom knows I didn't stay home last night. It's gonna be a big fight and I can't even try to lie and say I stayed with Abby because she called Abby already."

"You need your own place."

"I'm always gonna have a roommate because rent is kind of insane here and also my mom can't afford her own place so I'm kind of stuck with her and I'm sure no one wants to live with her."

Fitz shrugged because he knew Olivia was intentionally misunderstanding him."She was living in Brooklyn before, wasn't she?"

"Yeah and then she got sick and I had to give up her apartment and put her in a rehab facility. She was there for months. She took her stuff from storage and kicked my roommate out of my apartment while I was gone."

"It's gonna be fun getting to know your mom."

"Oh no, I can't even let her see you. She told me if she does she'll call the police. She doesn't know your face but the second she sees me with you she'll know. She just has this way about her, she knows things."

"Call the police and tell them what?"

"I don't know but I don't need the drama."

Fitz smiled and opened a small draw on the counter and took out a bag with a couple of mini toothbrushes and mini toothpaste and floss, provided by the hotel.

When they finished in the bathroom, Olivia dressed in her jeans and sweater though she didn't put on her underwear. Fitz dressed too.

Olivia checked the time on her phone and it was just after 5am.

"I don't think I'll have enough time to eat-" Olivia said.

The food was set beautifully with smoked salmon eggs benedict, lemon ricotta pancakes with candied lemons and sliced strawberries, fresh melon and berry fruit bowls, and freshly squeezed orange juice with fresh flowers brought to the room. The server took the food left on the table last night.

"Come on, we'll bring it, you can eat while I drive."

Fitz packed most of the plates on a tray and covered it with a dome, "Come on- fuck, they took my wings. I was gonna eat those."

Olivia smiled as Fitz lifted the tray from the table.

"Are they gonna be okay with taking that?"

"I'm gonna bring it back."

Olivia poured a cup of orange juice and drank as much as she could before they headed downstairs. The valet brought the car around and when she got into the passenger's side Fitz rested the tray in her lap. She lifted off to the dome and unwrapped the silverware then tasted a piece of the lemon pancakes. They were absolutely delicious.

Fitz got in the driver's side and pulled off.

It was a pretty straightforward route to her house from the hotel which was why she guessed Fitz didn't need a GPS. The hospital, however, was much more tricky.

She broke a piece of the pancake and fed it to Fitz as she stopped at a stoplight.

He chewed and swallowed, "that's good. Gimme some of the eggs."

Olivia broke a piece of the eggs benedict with the fork and fed him.

"You have to stop this," Olivia said with a chuckle, "you can't spoil me like this because when you're gone my life is going to seem a lot more depressing when I'm not getting eggs benedict and stupidly delicious lemon ricotta pancakes at The Four Seasons."

She took a bite of the eggs benedict and closed her eyes, "yumm."

Fitz smiled, "what did Jake say to you? When he saw you? Try to be as specific as possible."

Olivia was completely caught off guard and had her mouth full of pancakes. She chewed a bit then swallowed.

"Um...he just told me that he wanted to talk to you and the only way he could think of getting your attention was by showing up because he knew someone was watching me, probably Alesander."

"Anything else?" Fitz asked.

"Like what?"

"He grabbed your arm?"

"Oh yeah but I was kind of so shocked he showed up and said you were watching me so it kind of didn't register at the time," she said with a chuckle.

Fitz turned to her and caught her eyes. "Olivia, I'm very serious," he said in a soft voice.

The smile fell from Olivia's lips, "um...okay well that morning I went to work I had to scrub in on the clipping of a brain aneurysm. When I was finished, I was hungry so I went to the breakfast cart outside of my hospital and got a coffee and donut and I sat down at the bench."

"How often do you do that?"

"What?"

"Buy breakfast outside and eat there?"

"For the past few weeks maybe…. I usually have something at home and I'm fine but now I have surgery or a walkthrough and I'm hungry after and I need air so I sit outside."

Fitz smiled, "the baby?"

"Yeah, most likely."

"What happened after you sat down?"

"He sat beside me and at first he had on a hat and glasses so I couldn't tell it was him but when he took them off I recognized him.

I told him I'd scream if he tried to hurt me but he said he didn't plan on doing that unless I annoyed him. Then he said you were watching me and I mean… I didn't believe him so I tried to get up and he grabbed me and then I was going to scream and he told me not to- that I wouldn't like what would happen then Alesander showed up.``

"Did he say anything else?"

Olivia searched her memory, "he said you were his friend and I corrected him and said ex-friend and he got mad."

Fitz chuckled.

"He said that if it weren't for his friendship with you he'd have strangled me by now. I don't know, I think he wants you back as his friend."

Fitz smiled, an empty, polite smile, "well that's not gonna happen but thanks for telling me."

"Is he still here?" Olivia asked.

"Yes. He's waiting to see me."

"What are you going to do? You still seem really mad at him."

Fitz sighed, "at every turn, Jake's made the exact wrong decision when it comes to you. Showing up here was another wrong decision. Do you know how long he's had to have watched to figure out where he could catch you and when?"

"Yeah, it's kind of terrifying when you put it like that."

"It's not just that he doesn't like you. I could live with that. I could live with it if he didn't say anything to you, he didn't think about you and he didn't feel any way about you but he does. Enough to make him irrational. Enough to make him try to attack you on a plane in front of me. He's dead weight, I have to let him go." Fitz stopped at the stoplight.

"I'm not going to be the reason that you kill anyone- especially not your friend or ex-friend. That can't be on me no matter how much I find him disgusting."

"It's not."

"Fitz-"

"You should be focused on what your gonna say to your mom when you get in."

"Don't change the subject."

Fitz laughed, "it's already changed."

Olivia took a breath.

"Don't worry about me and Jake or Marco or anyone else. You should be focused on you and your helicopter mom."

Olivia laughed, "it's not funny." She ate some fruit.

"I wonder, are you gonna be a helicopter mom too?"

"No, god no...well. Yes but only until they turn 18 then I'll leave them alone."

Fitz laughed.

"So you're gonna be the kind of mom who thinks their kid is allergic to everything right? No sugar, gluten, dairy, wheat- all organic, germ-free everything?"

"No, not like that- not at all."

Fitz stopped in front of her apartment. "Go get 'em, tiger."

"I'm actually scared to go in there," Olivia said with a sigh, "I hope she's not up but I know she will be."

"I'll be right down here. Just grab enough stuff for a day. We'll leave right after dinner and head back here. Do you work on Friday?"

"No, I reach my weekly hour cap after this shift so unless there's a crazy level 1 emergency then they won't call me in."

Olivia unlocked her seatbelt then lifted the tray from her lap. Fitz took it and popped a piece of fruit in his mouth.

Olivia opened the door and headed to her apartment building. She went upstairs quickly and opened the door with her key as quietly as she could. She didn't bother taking off her shoes or coat but the moment she stepped out from the hall, Maya was sitting at the kitchen table.

Olivia said nothing as she walked quickly to her bedroom. Maya followed her and she looked exhausted.

"Where have you been?" Maya asked. "You haven't been at the hospital because I called them. You weren't at the restaurant. You weren't by Abby...so where were you?"

Olivia opened her closet door and searched through for something to wear to California. She could barely focus with Maya in her bedroom.

"Where were you that you couldn't call me to tell me you wouldn't come home."

Olivia sighed and turned to Maya, "I did come, you were sleeping weren't you, then I left."

"What time did you leave? I woke up in the middle of the night and you weren't here. Where did you go?"

"I left early- mom what are we doing? You tell me you don't want to have anything to do with me, you don't want to talk to me, you made it very clear how you felt about me and now you're upset at me for not calling you to tell you where I am?"

"Where were you?"

"Mom, I'm 25 years old, I don't think I need to tell you every time I'm out."

"I don't care how old you are. As long as we live under the same roof then I need to know what's going on."

"My roof mom, this is my apartment and you moved in here-"

"-I don't care who moved in where. We are living together and you will respect your mother. I gave birth to you, I raised you when your worthless father chose crime over his family. I worked my ass off to get you to the best schools and this is how you repay me? No respect- you have absolutely no respect for your mother-"

"I do respect you mom but you don't respect me- you don't give me an inch and that's the problem"

Olivia closed her closet door and walked to her bedroom door but Maya blocked her path. She gave up, there was no way she would be able to collect clothes and leave with Maya in her ear.

"I have to go to work-"

"Is it him?" Maya asked. "Is he back?"

Olivia didn't answer as she tried to pass Maya who blocked her again.

"Olivia- he's not good for you. I'm not going to stand by and let you ruin your life with someone like him. I mean- I don't understand how it got to this- how could you let him touch you that way- he's dangerous-"

Olivia looked at Maya staring at her directly as she spoke, "-you're done with me, remember? It's not your business anymore."

Olivia tried to pass Maya but instantly felt fingers against her cheek. It stung and she was so shocked the tears burned her eyes immediately. She reached up and touched her cheek.

Maya shook her head frantically.

"Livie baby...I'm sorry," she cried.

Olivia took off as fast she could for the door, pushing past Maya. who followed behind Olivia as she ran out the door.

"Livie-" she called behind her. "Livie wait-"

Olivia rushed down the stairs, across the small lobby to the door.

Fitz was waiting, double-parked at the same spot she left him. She got in as quickly as she could and locked the door.

Maya exited the building just in time to see Olivia get in the car.

"Olivia-"

"Please just go-' Olivia said, wiping her face.

"What the fuck happened?"

Maya was frozen as she stepped out of the apartment. She saw Fitz. He was slightly angled towards Olivia, giving Maya a full view of his face.

"My mom hit me- she actually hit me- and I'm gonna freak out if she comes over here so please go," Olivia said through sobs.

Maya watched as Olivia cried to him and he wiped her eyes with his thumb and then turned and looked up. She could see his crystal blue eyes through the car window. He leaned back against his seat and shifted the gear then drove down the block.

They were quiet on the drive to the hospital which was not a long way from Olivia's home. Fitz had mapped the route on the car's GPS while he waited for Olivia.

Olivia had dried her eyes and was calm now.

Fitz reversed the car into a parking spot in the lot and cut the engine. It was almost 5:45 am. He turned to Olivia, "are you okay?"

She nodded, "yeah- I just, she's a lot sometimes- all the time actually. She's exhausted even when we get along but now she's just...she's too much."

"She hit you? Why?"

"We were arguing, she said something, I said something and she hit me. She did that when I told her I was pregnant too…"

Fitz caressed her cheek, "are you gonna be okay to go to work?"

"I have to," she said with a chuckle. "I didn't get any of my clothes-"

"-it's okay, we'll figure something out."

Olivia looked in the backseat of the car and saw the tray of food, covered.

"When's your lunch?" Fitz asked.

"I don't really have a set lunch, it's usually just whenever I can eat."

"I'll have the concierge bring you some lunch at like 11 okay?"

Olivia nodded, "thanks, that salad right? "

Fitz nodded, "and whatever else you want?" he leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips.

"Maybe that burger," Olivia said with a smile.

Fitz pulled her closer and slid his tongue in her mouth, swirling it around her, and then he let her go. "Whatever you want," he said again. "Now go before I kidnap you again."

"Haha," she said with a smile.

She was feeling better. Olivia unlocked her seatbelt and opened the door.

"I'll be right here for you at 6am, okay?"

She nodded and kissed Fitz one more time and then she headed into the hospital.

Olivia changed into her scrubs and white coat then she headed out to the surgical floor. It was going to be a long day and before the day began she was already counting down until she could see Fitz again. It wasn't until she changed into her scrubs and began to walk the floor that she realized that she didn't have his phone number and almost kicked herself for not remembering to ask for it.

Barely an hour into her shift, she saw Maya walking down the hall towards her on the surgical floor. The staff knew her well enough as her mother to let her in after years of visits to Boston and two weeks in which Maya was constantly at the hospital while Oliva was gone.

The moment Olivia saw her she turned around and headed in the opposite direction.

"Livie-" Maya called.

Olivia walked quickly down the hall and swiped her id badge towards the restricted section where Maya couldn't pass. The double doors closed behind her, blocking Maya on the other side of the doors.

Olivia took a breath and then continued on.

It was a hard situation. She loved her mother and she knew she bore some fault in how she revealed her pregnancy and what she said to Maya and even the fact that she got pregnant was surely something Maya could be disappointed with but within reason. She'd taken it too far, she'd said too much. Hitting her was not something Maya did to her, even in her childhood but now she was so far gone that she felt bold enough to do it- twice.

Maya showing up had distracted her for the better part of the morning until she was called down to the hospital lobby by her pager. There was a woman in a skirt suit with short, dark hair waiting for her. She carried a large paper bag with the words "THE FOUR SEASONS" written on it.

"Dr. Olivia Pope?" she asked.

Olivia nodded, "good morning, I'm with the concierge service at the four seasons and I'm here to bring you lunch."

"Thank you," Olivia said with a smile. She could smell the food from the bag.

"You have the New England Cobb salad which consists of Maine lobster, Jonah crab, grilled shrimp, applewood smoked bacon, avocado, tomato, cucumber, hard-boiled egg, and a smooth basil ranch dressing. You also have a grilled chicken sandwich with local ciabatta, heirloom tomato, crushed avocado, and crisp lettuce with fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, tart lemonade, and sparkling water. We'll stop by, either myself or a colleague a bit later to bring you dinner, around 5pm."

The woman handed Olivia the large shopping bag.

"Thank you," Olivia said with a smile.

She walked back to the resident's lounge and took some bites of her salad before she was paged by her attending and left. She realized at some point how thankful she was that Abby wasn't working with her. She would have asked questions about Maya and Olivia wasn't in the mood to answer them.

Her day dragged on.

Maya heard her doorbell chime. She'd just gotten home from visiting Olivia at the hospital. She ran to the door, hoping it was Olivia and that she'd decided to speak to her but when she opened the door, her jaw dropped. It was Fitz standing in front of her door, towering over her.

She stepped back.

"What are you doing here-"

"To talk," Fitz said with a smile.

Maya looked him up and down. She took in his demeanor and his appearance. She didn't expect him to seem so confident and so full of charisma. She expected a criminal, with a threatening presence but she didn't get that feeling, if anything, he just seemed arrogant.

"I don't want to talk to you-"

"I think you do," Fitz said, "if I were I'd want to talk to me."

Maya took a moment and before she could respond Fitz stepped in the doorway and walked past her, into the kitchen.

Maya was shocked at his boldness but she closed the door and followed. He took a seat in the kitchen at the rickety green table. His eyes caught the wall where he took Olivia during the night and it brought a smirk to his lips.

Maya stood by the stove. "Do you want tea?"

Fitz thought it was an odd offer.

"I try not to accept food or drink from people who loathe me but thanks."

It was after Maya had made the gesture that she realized how ridiculous it was but she was so trained to show hospitality and politeness that it hadn't occurred to her not to do it.

She walked to the table and sat opposite Fitz.

"Did Olivia ask you to come here?" Maya asked.

"No, not at all. She doesn't know I'm here."

Maya didn't respond though she did seem deep in thought.

"Go ahead and ask," Fitz said. He crossed his legs and rested his arm against the table.

"Did you force her?"

Fitz took a light breath, "This might surprise you but being with someone who doesn't want to be with me doesn't interest me. It doesn't interest me at all."

"I can't believe she would do this willingly- I just can't," Maya said, perplexed. "This is not the daughter I know. You took my daughter and for two weeks I was devastated. You took a brilliant, hardworking surgeon and brought back a pregnant single mother. She's gonna go through the exact same thing that I went through. She's in her third year of residency, she is so close to having everything we've worked so hard for. Have you thought about how this would affect her?"

"I'm thinking about it right now," Fitz said.

"Whatever it is that you do? Do you plan on stopping?"

Fitz shook his head, "that's not what I came here to talk about."

Maya shook her head, "her father didn't stop either. Olivia hated so much what he was and what he chose over his family. I think that's why this is so shocking to me and I know how this ends. You'll choose money or whatever it is that makes you do what you do. Men like you always do."

"You don't know me. I'm nothing like your ex-husband and I know him well enough to say that."

Maya came to a realization when Fitz said the words.

"He was the reason you took her right?"

Fitz didn't answer.

"You hit her this morning. I'm sure if she was pregnant under circumstances you approved of you would have never done that. You would've thought it was disgusting."

"I didn't mean to do that-" Maya said almost in tears. "I tried to apologize but she doesn't want to talk to me."

Fitz stood, "don't let me be the reason you ruin your relationship with your daughter. When I took her, the first conversation we had was about you. She cared more about you than she did about herself. She talked more about you than she did herself. When she saw her father, she cared more about whether your rehab bill was getting paid. Even if you think I'm the biggest mistake she'll ever make, even if you can't stand the thought of me with your daughter or of my child inside her, don't let it be the reason you lose her."

He headed towards the door.

"Tell her I'm sorry," Maya said, "tell her I would take it back if I could and that I need her to come home."

Fitz shrugged but he had no intentions of convincing Olivia to go back home. Maya looked anxious, her hands were shaking as if she had to say something else.

"Why don't you just leave her. Leave her and I'll help take care of her and the baby. You know you'll only hurt her," Maya said shakily.

Fitz smiled politely, "Goodbye Maya. It was good to finally put a face to the name after Olivia talked so much about you."

He turned and walked through the door leaving Maya standing in the hall.

Fitz was back at his hotel 20 minutes later when he texted Alesander and told him to send Jake to his room. He ordered lunch for himself as he waited for his visitor to arrive.

He was halfway through his meal when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in," he called.

Jake opened the door moments later and walked inside. He closed it behind him and walked towards the dining table.

"Sit," Fitz said lightly.

Jake was surprised by his tone and he'd expected anger.

He took a seat at the other end of the table.

"Look- let me just say that this isn't worth it okay, a lot's happened and I know you're mad, I'm mad you threw me down a flight of stairs but I'm willing to forget all of this. I don't want to throw away my longest friendship."

"Why did I throw you down the stairs?" Fitz asked as he bit into his chicken wing.

"I wasn't gonna hurt her but you hurt me. You really hurt me how quickly you chose her over me."

Fitz took a sip of his beer and laughed.

"What's so funny?" Jake asked. "You almost killed me. You almost killed me-"

"Why did you come here?"

"I want my friend back."

"So stalking her for I'm assuming at least a couple weeks, confronting her at work, and threatening her was your way of getting your friend back?"

"I don't like how I did it but you cut me off, how else was I supposed to get in touch with you?"

"You weren't," Fitz answered.

Jake sighed, frustrated, "I'll leave her alone, I won't talk to her, I won't look at her, I won't think about her"

"You said that already, didn't you?" Fitz asked as he ate more wings.

"So what? We're done?"

"I should kill you, I'd do that to anyone else. You're a problem for me now. The way I see it, you're my enemy and I prefer a dead enemy than a live one."

"So you're gonna kill me?"

"Didn't say I was. I said I should."

They were silent for a moment, "what now?" Jake asked.

"Now, you go, before I change my mind."

"You can trust me. You can- I've never betrayed you and I still don't think I have. You're my brother and yeah I didn't like your thing with Olivia but right now that's the least of my problems."

"We'll talk when I get back," Fitz said.

Jake nodded and stood.

"Thanksgiving at your parents?"

Fitz shrugged but didn't answer.

"I usually go with you," he said with a chuckle. "I guess she's going with you now." Jake pushed in the chair. "Your mom will like her. She's exactly the kind of girl mothers love. Tell your folks I said hi."

Fitz nodded and watched Jake leave the room. He had big plans for Jake but they would have to wait until he didn't see them coming.
