He was inside her with her back pressed against the clear glass wall. The view of Boston was behind them. Her pants were on the floor, across the room and Fitz's pants were pooled at his feet.

His tongue filled her mouth and his finger filled her ass. She was stuffed and couldn't form a word as he stroked her long and deep with the urgent need to cum inside her.

Her legs began to tremble then her entire body with it as she shook into her orgasm, squirting and cumming simultaneously as Fitz did the same.

He collapsed against the wall and after a few breaths he stepped out of his jeans and lifted her over to the bed where he laid her in the middle.

"Fitz-" she choked out with a dry throat. "I need water…"

He took a breath and grabbed a bottle of water from the night table, opened it then handed it to her. She pulled herself up slightly and took a few sips then she handed it back to Fitz who drank the rest of the bottle.

Her muscles ached and now the exhaustion finally weighed her down like an anchor to the bed. She reached for him and Fitz leaned on top of her, "it's okay," he said with an exhausted chuckle, "I'll wake you when it's time."

She half nodded and fell asleep immediately.

Fitz stood and dressed then walked to the bathroom to wash his hands and face then pulled out his phone and dialed Alesander.

"Boss?" Alesander answered.

"Jason Rodney," Fitz said, remembering the name Olivia casually mentioned as they headed home, "he's a paramedic at the Hospital where Olivia works and he might work with other hospitals too. Find him and give him a good beating."

"I'll take care of it," Alesander said.

Fitz hung up and walked outside of his hotel room door to Andrey and Greg. "Did they leave?" he asked.

"Just got on the plane twenty minutes ago."

"I wanna know everything they tell him, okay?"

"Of course," Andrey responded.

Fitz walked back into his room and plopped down on the bed. Olivia was snoring lightly and gone to the world and for a moment he debated waking her at all. It was just after 7pm and she'd only have about an hour to sleep before he woke her at 8pm for the 9pm reservation.

He pulled the blanket from under her and covered her naked body then we went to the bathroom to shower.

It was just after 8 when he leaned over Olivia and kissed her lightly on the lips.

"Livie, come on, wake up," he said softly.

Olivia jumped up, "mom?"

"What?" Fitz asked.

"Someone said Livie?" she looked around.

Fitz chuckled, "I called you that."

She tried to rub the sleep from her eyes but the lack of sleep was bringing on a pounding headache.

"My mom calls me that," she said as she rubbed her temples.

"Are you okay?"

She nodded, "I'm getting a headache." She sat up slowly and the blanket fell from her breasts.

"Go back to bed, we can go another time."

She shook her head, "no, I want to go."

"You want me to get you a pill or something?"

She nodded.

Fitz walked to the landline and dialed down to room service. "Can you bring up-" he looked to Olivia and she answered, "acetaminophen."

Fitz repeated, "acetaminophen?"

"Tylenol," Olivia said, realizing they might not know the scientific name.

"Tylenol," Fitz repeated, "quickly, thanks."

She crawled to the edge of the bed and stood, only for her legs to give way under her. She fell back on the bed and a slight smile covered her lips.

"What's wrong?" Fitz asked as he walked over.

"My thighs are a little sore," she said with a smile, "it's a good feeling but-"

Fitz swept her up in his arms and walked her to the bathroom.

"That's one way of taking care of it," she said with a chuckle.

Fitz let her down in the tub, "I'll come back with your tylenol."

Olivia nodded and stooped down to turn on the faucet. She took some body wash from the side of the tub and added the soap to her sponge and began soaping up her body. A few minutes later Fitz walked in with two tylenol pills and a bottle of water. Olivia opened her mouth and he placed both pills on her tongue and then opened the bottle and put it to her lips. She took a gulp and swallowed the pills with the water then finished washing off her body.

"Look at your breasts," Fitz said as he gazed at her.

"What?"

"They're perfect, I feel like I'm missing out cause I'm not in there with you."

She giggled and shook her head, "where are we going to eat?"

"I want some pad thai so I had Camilla make reservations at a Thai place a few blocks away."

"I love Thai food so this is perfect."

Olivia stood from the tub and turned off the faucet and stepped out of the tub. Fitz grabbed the robe from a hook on the wall and opened it for her to put her arms through then he pulled her in front of him and held her against his chest and fondled her breasts.

"That was amazing earlier," Olivia said.

He kissed her neck, "don't remind me," he moaned, "the only way I can get out of here is if I don't remember that."

Olivia laughed and closed her robe, "okay, okay, let me get ready."

Olivia rushed out of the leaving Fitz and his semi erection standing in the bathroom. She walked to her clothes and realized they were all laundered and pressed and hung on a rack or folded.

She walked to the rack and skimmed through. There was a navy blue silk mini dress with an open back and straps that tied behind her back. She grabbed a pair of thong underwear that wouldn't show under her dress and slipped then on then she grabbed some Miss Dior body cream she'd purchased from Saks and lotioned her skin. Fitz walked back from the bathroom and began getting dressed as well as he watched Olivia pull off her robe and lotion her skin. After she moisturized she pulled on her dress and walked to Fitz.

"Can you tie this for me?"

She moved her hair and revealed her back to him.

Fitz tied the strap behind her and kissed her shoulder then slightly bit her.

"Ahh," she cried out with a giggle. It didn't hurt but she was surprised.

"You're delicious," Fitz teased.

"You are so weird," she scolded. "kiss me before I do my makeup." She puckered her lips and Fitz kissed her.

She smiled and grabbed her makeup and rushed the bathroom quickly. Her headache had mostly vanished. She moisturized her face with $300 La mer face cream then applied her foundation and all the other little touches she liked to her face. She finished with lip liner and nude lipgloss and then walked out to Fitz. He was standing by the wall on the phone.

"Hey, I'm ready," she said as she walked to her about ten pairs of heels and boots she'd purchased on her shopping spree.

"One sec," Fitz said, still on the phone. He didn't turn around.

Olivia slipped on socks then the Jimmy Choo boot Fitz had bought her and a Burberry trench coat. She switched her ID and wallet from her Louis Vuitton tote to her Chanel quilted bag and grabbed her phone.

Fitz hung up moments and walked to her. "mm...You look amazing," he said as he kissed her cheek.

"Thanks," she said, blushing.

Fitz wrapped her arm around her waist and they headed out the door together. As usual, there were two men there and they followed behind them as they walked. They'd almost reached the end of the hallway when Olivia saw Camilla turn the corner.

Olivia watched her eyes move from her to Fitz and back to her then she took a breath, "hello." she said to Olivia. It seemed like something she was being forced to say, as if Fitz told her she had to be cordial. Olivia didn't respond to the greeting.

"The stuff is there, take care of it," Fitz said.

Camilla nodded and walked off.

Olivia turned the corner with Fitz towards the elevator.

"What is she taking care of?" Olivia asked.

"She's working with James on the apartment and she's gonna hire some people for the apartment."

"What kind of people? Like the maid and stuff?"

"Yeah and someone to fill it with furniture," Fitz said with a chuckle.

"I wanna do that," Olivia complained.

"Why?"

"I mean, these people are gonna be around me right and I wanna decorate the apartment, it'll be fun."

"Ah...sure, I just assumed you'd be too busy for that stuff."

"She can help me to do it but still, I want to do it."

"Okay, I'll tell her when we get back.

Olivia nodded and then they continued to the elevator.

"How is Arianna?" Olivia asked.

"Fine, I guess. I stopped by her room yesterday and she was trying to hide a guy from me, like I give a shit about who she's sleeping with."

"You don't, most brothers are protective of their sisters."

"Yeah, protective as in I don't want her to get hurt, of course, but that doesn't include guarding her vagina, does it? That's weird to me."

They stepped into the elevator.

Olivia chuckled, "it is weird but it's a thing."

"She's an adult."

"So you've never been the brother she has to hide guys she's dating from?"

"Well she does it and no matter how much I tell her I don't care she still does it, out of habit I guess."

"I'd hide guys from my brother too," she said, "just in case." Olivia took a breath, "so, I'm thinking of going to see my mom. She's called me a couple of times and I'm not answering but it feels weird. I don't want to feel like I'm hiding from her. I'm just gonna tell her that I'm moving out and whatever else I need to and if she wants to still be in my life then fine and if not then I'll just have to deal with that."

"If that's what you want then do it."

"I'm not looking forward to the judging but as long as she does it in silence then it should be fine."

"Wow, this is not the Olivia I first met, I like it."

She chuckled, "I have changed a lot, haven't it? Like a little metamorphosis."

"All you needed was an unplanned pregnancy and wham, brand new person," Fitz teased.

"When is your change coming?"

"It's already here, I'm taking baby steps though."

"It is? What's the change been?"

"Oh I don't know, the fact that making plans to move to fucking Boston, the armpit of the world."

"It's not that bad here…"

"When you're with me, no but when I'm waiting almost 36 hours for you to finish work then yeah, it is. I remember why I usually date people who are always available to me."

"It's an interesting twist, isn't it?" Olivia ribbed.

"Most definitely."

They came to the ground floor and stepped off the elevator and headed to the valet and waited for them to bring the car around.

They walked into the restaurant hand in hand. Fitz said his name to the hostess at the front and she grabbed two large booklet menus and walked them to a booth in the back.

Fitz pulled her coat down her arms before Olivia sat. "Thank you," Olivia said to him. They were handed menus by the hosted. "Your server will be right with you." she said before stepping off.

"What's your favorite type of cuisine?" Olivia asked him.

"I like everything. I eat anything, mostly I like a nice tender steak or rack of lamb. I love tacos and I love burgers even more. I don't know. What do you like?"

"I love burgers too and I also like Korean bbq."

"Well go to Korea some time and have the real thing."

"I love how you can just decide to go to South Korea with like no prior planning just for some bbq."

"Well, you want the real thing don't you?"

"I'd love to visit South Korea but because it's beautiful, not just for the food."

"Well, we can go, whenever you have the time?"

Olivia smiled and nodded, "so how are you getting work done when you're here in Boston with me?"

"I don't, not really."

"Why not?"

"I don't like talking about anything over the phone, especially if I'm in the U.S."

"For someone who claims not to do many illegal business activities, you sure are careful."

"I didn't say I didn't do illegal things, I said I don't sell drugs to people and that I made sure that the money I got was legal with all the right paperwork and paid taxes on it so i wouldn't have to launder it. I mean, what's the purpose of having all this money if I have to hide it."

"So wait?" Olivia sighed, "nevermind, it's probably not a good time to talk about it."

"It's not."

The waiter walked over, "I can take your order, if you're ready?" he asked, gawking at Olivia.

"I'm not sure, let me have a quick look," she said as she opened the menu.

Fitz noticed immediately and watched his eyes as they washed over Olivia, who was obviously looking at her menu.

"We're not ready. I'll call you when we are," he said, condescendingly.

"Um...okay. I'll come back," he said then looked at Olivia and stepped away.

"That was a little rude," Olivia said as she looked up from the the menu.

"Him gawking at you is a little rude," Fitz responded cooly and unapologetically.

"You know Fitz, I kind of think people who are mean to servers are obnoxious, I used to be a waitress, like literally last week."

"I'm not being rude because he brought me cold food, I'm annoyed he's staring at my girlfriend's tits."

Olivia smiled slightly, "I'm your girlfriend?"

Fitz rolled his eyes, "don't be juevenline, we're moving in together and we have a kid on the way, at the very least that's what we are."

"Well, he wasn't staring at me and also, you can't just decide i'm your girlfriend, you have to ask me."

"He was," Fitz said, refusing to concede the point, "and what are we in high school?"

"Maybe, still, you have to ask me."

"You're serious?"

She nodded with a smile.

"Fine. will you be my girlfriend- this is so embarrassing."

"Nope, ask again, less begrudging."

Fitz took a breath and stood and cleared his throat very loudly, getting the attention of most of the restaurant.

"OLIVIA, WILL YOU BE MY GIRLFRIEND?" He yelled.

Olivia would have turned red if she could, suddenly all eyes were on her.

"Yes, yes, yes, fine, sit down," she whispered.

"SHE SAID YES YOU GUYS, DON'T WORRY" Fitz announced before sitting to some cheers.

"Oh my god- you are so-"

"Well, you're the one who wanted to make a big thing about it."

"Not that big," she complained.

"The story of your ex-husband, am I right?"

Olivia balled the cloth napkin from her table and tossed it at his head but he caught it. She covered her mouth to stifle her laugh.

"You are too much," said with an exasperated sigh then smiled again.

"My mom called to talk to you."

"Aww, really, that's so sweet."

"It'll get old, fast. Anyways I gave her your number."

"That's okay. I think she's fabulous. I've never seen that many diamonds in my life."

"She takes the saying 'diamonds are a girls' best friend very literally'."

Olivia chuckled, "she told me not to take it easy on you, to make sure you're doing what you're supposed to."

Fitz chuckled, "sounds like her."

The waiter walked over once again.

"Are you ready?"

Fitz handed him the menu though he'd barely looked at it, "wings for the appetizer, pad thai with duck and a house beer and sparkling water."

The waiter took notes and turned to Olivia and smiled, "what can I get for you?"

"Um, I'll have the spicy basil fried rice with the crispy duck and the avocado salad and is the lychee lemonade good?"

"Yes, very good," he said with a smile, gawking.

"I'll have that, thank you."

He nodded, "I'll bring it right away." then he hurried off.

Olivia sighed, "fine, you were right." then she smiled, "you're jealous."

"I'm not jealous, if you're with me I don't want anyone else looking at you."

"Jealous," Olivia whispered.

"Whatever."

The server brought their appetizer and still he stared nervously at Olivia. They ate through their appetizers, then entree and then for dessert Olivia ordered coconut ice cream.

"When do you have work again?"

"Tomorrow, 6m, bright and early."

He huffed, "I'm never gonna get used to this."

"I feel like it's only annoying because you're here with me but once your gone, it'll be fine."

"I suppose. How much time do you have left?"

"4 years, basically."

"Mmmm…"

She bit another spoon of her coconut ice-cream.

"It sounds bleak, I know but it'll pass fast and the further I get into my residency, the less hours I'm required to do. They actually just passed a law that maxes out hours at 100. I used to work 120 hours sometimes. We technically shouldn't work longer than 24 hours in a shift but there can be exceptions for emergencies which is what the chief used to keep me."

"100 is still steep."

"I'm pretty sure they'll change it again. Too many mistakes happen because residents and interns are tired. "

Fitz shrugged but was unsure what to add. After Olivia finished her ice-cream he paid the check.

"You tip right? You're not one of those people who don't tip?" Olivia asked as she watched him sign the check.

"I do tip but not him," Fitz said with a chuckle, "and he's lucky all I'm doing is not tipping him.

Fitz struck a line through the tip space and stood, "let's go."

Olivia reached into her purse and pulled out all the cash she had on her, which was $30 and dropped it on the table then she slipped on her coat with a smirk.

"Whatever," Fitz said as he took her hand and headed to the door. They were out to the curb where Fitz had parked his car slightly up the block by the meter.

"Do you want anything else before we head to the hotel?" he asked.

"Actually, I was thinking of stopping by my apartment...maybe talk to my mom and grab some books. I have a surgery I need to study for because I'm performing a part of it and I was gonna borrow it but I'd rather just grab it from the apartment."

"That's fine I'll take you but the last time you saw your mother, she hit you. Do you really want to have to deal with her shit tonight?"

"It'll be fine, hopefully but I'm not running from her."

He nodded, "okay, brand new Olivia."

She chuckled and shook her head at his ribbing. They continued up the block until they reached Fitz's car and he opened the door on the passenger door for her. He got in the other side and sat.

"Can you turn on the heat, it's a little cold," Olivia complained.

"Sure," he said then leaned over and kissed her lips, "you look beautiful tonight."

Olivia blushed, "stop making me blush and turn on the heat!"

He chuckled and turned on his engine, then the heat and pulled off after Olivia plugged her apartment address in his gps.

Fitz double parked in front of her apartment and the moment he shut his engine off his cellphone rang. He pulled the ringing from his pocket and answered. The call was brief and he didn't say a word then he hung up.

"Herman is in there," Fitz said.

"What? Why?"

"I don't know, one of my guys saw him go in there about twenty minutes ago. I'll bring you back tomorrow."

He turned on the engine again.

"No, it's okay, I'm gonna go, he needs to stop showing up. I need to tell him to stop."

"Tonight's not the night to confront your ex who you have a restraining order against, okay."

"No, it is the night. Let me go and if he doesn't come out in like 5 minutes then you can come and tell him to leave...but only if he doesn't come out."

"I'll come with you now-" he said as he cut the engine again.

"I'd rather he not know about you...not if he doesn't have to."

"Why is that?"

"Because he's crazy," she said with a chuckle, "but it's fine, only if he thinks I'm seeing someone. I'm not gonna tell him something to get him upset when I can get rid of him. I'm not looking for a fight."

Olivia leaned over and kissed him, "I'll be quick." She looked down at her dress, "I should probably cover," she said before opening the door and hopping out.

She pulled her trench coat close and tied the belt around her waist then she pulled her key out of her bag and headed into her apartment.

Fitz shook his head and sighed as he stopped his engine and opened his door, exiting the car. He waved to the car about 50 feet behind him, Alesander was there with two other guys and then there was Andrey who'd been watching the building.

Olivia walked up the stairs to her apartment but didn't see Herman outside in the hall. She continued and as she walked to her door then suddenly it opened and he stepped out of her apartment, with a darkness and fury that completely took her off guard.

He seemed surprised to see her but his shock wasn't enough to change his expression measurably.

"What are you doing in my apartment?" Olivia asked.

She watched him look her up and down then met her eyes again but didn't answer.

"Herman, why are you in my apartment? Is my mom home?"

He didn't answer.

"Whatever, you can't come here anymore. I know you've been coming here but this is the last time, you cannot come back here. We're divorced and my restraining order on you still stands."

He huffed and suddenly grabbed Olivia by the arms. She screamed, frightened because it was so quick.

Fitz heard the scream as soon as he stepped in the building and as he rushed up the stairs he heard a door slam.

Herman dragged Olivia inside her apartment and slammed the door shut and the lock activated. "Let me go," she screamed though her mouth was covered by Hermans hands.

Maya heard the commotion and came running around from her kitchen.

"What's going on?" she cried when she came around.

Herman had his hands around Olivia's mouth and nose, gripping her against her tightly against his chest as she fought for air.

Maya rushed over once she saw what was happening and grabbed Herman but he pushed her away.

There was a bang on the door outside as Fitz yelled her name, "OLIVIA?"

"HELP!" Maya screamed when she heard him outside the door.

They were in the kitchen now. Herman flung Olivia to the floor and grabbed Maya and stretched for a chef's knife from the kitchen.

Olivia gasped for breath for barely a moment before she tried to get up and run to let Fitz in. She could hear him kicking against the door but then it was silent.

"Don't," Herman said, as soon Olivia got herself off the floor.

He had the knife's silver blade against Maya's throat.

Olivia froze.

"What are you doing?" Olivia asked with tears in her eyes.

"I know everything that's going on. I know you're pregnant, I know you're seeing him after what he did to you. Maya told me," he said angrily.

Olivia looked to Maya when she realized what she'd done but the look in her mothers eyes told her that Maya had already realized the severity of her actions.

Just then, the door unlocked and Olivia remembered that Fitz had a key. Fitz rushed to the kitchen and witnessed the sight before him. Alesander and two others were behind him but he waved them back and they stayed in the foyer, where Herman couldn't see them.

"This is him, right?" Herman said angrily.

"Herman, let my mother go," Olivia said shakily.

"How many times have I asked you to have my children?" he barked.

Olivia shook her head, careful of her words so she wouldn't set him off even further.

"I don't owe you a child Herman."

"Your entire job as my wife is to bring my children! You may have forgotten your vows and you may have divorced me and filed restraining orders but I made my vows with God, I'm still your husband."

Olivia attempted to step forward to him only to feel Fitz pull her back by the belt round her waist.

Herman growled angrily.

"Don't touch my wife!" he barked.

"What's your plan? You're gonna kill her mother. Is that your grand scheme to get her back?"

"You kidnapped her and got her so maybe this is what she likes."

Fitz rolled his eyes and reached behind his back and pulled out his handgun with a silencer attached.

"Let's explore the facts since you wanna be smart."

Herman became rigid when he saw the black gun in Fitz's hands though it wasn't pointed at him.

"This gun is legally registered and it has a silencer so if I shoot you right now, no one would know, not if I didn't want them to. On top of that, Olivia has a restraining order against you which means not only are you trespassing but it's against her protective order. Your handprint is on that knife which is more than enough evidence to prove you were a danger to everyone here. If I shot you, I'd be totally justified."

"If you kill me, I'll kill her," Herman said as he pressed the knife deeper. "I'll be dead but Olivia," he said as he looked her in the eye, "you won't have a mother."

Fitz aimed the gun at him. "You're not killing anyone, put the knife down."

"Tell him to leave," Herman said in a panic.

"No." Fitz answered.

Olivia turned to him, "you have to go."

"I'm not going anywhere," Fitz said again.

Olivia reached behind her back and squeezed Fitz's hand, hoping he would trust her and let her go.

"Herman, please let my mom go, you don't have to do this."

"The minute I let her go, he shoots me so I do have to do this."

Fitz relaxed his arm and held his gun down.

Olivia was thankful he stood down. She stepped forward and he didn't stop her although she saw him step closer as well, as if he didn't want to be too far away.

"Let her go, please, he won't hurt you," Olivia said slowly as she stepped to him.

Herman relaxed slightly and loosened his grip on Maya. Olivia took Maya's hand.

"I love you," he said tearfully.

"I love you too," Olivia returned.

It was a gut punch to hear, even though Fitz knew she was lying.

"But you have to stop this, you have to let her go."

"Don't have his baby," Herman cried.

"I won't," Olivia said.

She tasted vomit in her mouth and tried everything in to hold it back.

Herman let Maya go and pulled Olivia into his arms and hugged her with the knife still in his fist.

Maya fell to the floor, clutching her chest.

Herman leaned down and tried to kiss Olivia and instinctively, she rebuffed him as the vomit instantly flew out of her mouth unto Herman. She lost her footing and fell.

"You're lying," Herman barked as he lifted the knife to drive it into her.

Suddenly, Fitz fired two quick loud shots into his chest. It was loud and made her ears burn. Blood splattered onto Olivia who was on the floor in front of him.

She screamed and as Herman realized what entered his chest, his eyes opened wide and he dropped the knife from his fist. It dropped to the floor between Olivia and Maya. Fitz rushed to Olivia and pulled her away from Herman as blood spewed from his mouth and he fell forward with a loud thud on the floor. He gasped for air. It sounded wet as he choked on his blood.

Alesander was in the kitchen now.

"Silencer," he said to Fitz.

Fitz handed him the detached piece from his gun and Alesander and the other two left the apartment quickly.

Fitz reached for his phone and dialed 911. His arms were still around Olivia.

"911, what's your emergency?" the operators answered.

He was sure someone in the building would call after hearing the gunshots but he knew he had to call as well.

"Someone is dead."

"Where are you?" the operator asked.

"53 Blossom Street, apartment 2f."

Fitz hung up then he dialed someone else on his phone.

Olivia clutched her stomach as she cried. Herman's blood was beginning to pool underneath him. Maya was still too stunned to move from her spot.

Suddenly, the sounds of loud sirens became audible.

"Come to Boston," Fitz said into his phone, "now." Then he hung up.

"My stomach hurts," Olivia said as she clutched her belly. Fitz wrapped his arms around her stomach, "they're gonna take you to the hospital."

"Boston PD, we're entering the apartment, how many people are inside?" they heard an officer ask from the hallways of the apartment.

"Three and one dead."

"There was a firearm reported discharged from this address. Place the firearm on the ground where we will be able to see it and I need everyone to place their hands above their heads."

"Okay," Fitz answered.

"I'll give you five seconds," the officer said.

"Okay," Fitz answered.

He placed his gun on the ground behind him, out of arm's reach then he stuffed his phone in the pocket of her jacket.

"They're gonna arrest me. Hold onto this and answer whenever someone calls."

"What?" Olivia said.

"Don't say anything, don't do anything until my lawyer gets here in the morning."

"We're coming in, no sudden movements," another officer announced.

Fitz raised his hands then Olivia did slightly and Maya did as well.

They heard footsteps coming towards them and in moments her kitchen and living room were filled with police.

"Did you discharge the gun?" one officer asked Fitz as he took the gun and dropped it in a clear ziplock bag.

"I did."

"No sudden movements, I'm going to pull you up," the officer said.

Fitz nodded.

Two men held his arms and pulled him up from behind Olivia and once he was standing they pulled his arms behind him and locked handcuffs on him.

Olivia opened her mouth to speak but Fitz shook his head at her, telling her not to.

The two officers turned and walked him out of the apartment.

Another stooped beside her, "ma'am, are you okay?"

"Why did you arrest him?" Olivia asked, unable to stop crying.

"It's protocol in a shooting. Do you need an ambulance?"

Olivia nodded.

They were almost at the hospital in the back of the ambulance. Olivia and Maya still hadn't spoken a word to each other. The ambulance parked in the emergency departed and pulled Olivia's stretcher from the back and brought her into the emergency entrance.

She called Arianna and told her Fitz was taken to jail by the Boston PD while she was in the ambulance, hoping Ariana could get to Fitz before she could. There was still a level of shock that she felt that made it hard to process what was going on.

Then she was in the emergency department, waiting for the gynecologist she requested to come as a nurse checked her vitals. When her doctor stepped into the private exam room moments later Olivia turned to Maya and spoke to her for the time in the evening.

"I want to be alone."

"No, please, let me stay," Maya said as she took her hand. She was sweating inexplicably. "I don't want to leave you alone."

Oliiva pulled her hand away, "I don't want you to stay. I'd hate to see you cry tears of joy if I find out I'm miscarrying."

"Olivia, I'd never-"

"Just go," Olivia said again then she turned her face.

Maya reluctantly left the room to give her daughter space but stayed right outside waiting until they were finished. There were two police officers right beside her.

Olivia pulled up the blanket the paramedics had given her when the police officers took her coat and boots because it was stained with Herman's blood.

"The blood on your face isn't your right?" Dr. Crowl asked.

Olivia shook her head as the doctor pulled the curtains closed.

"How far along are you?" she asked.

Olivia wiped her eyes when she realized she was crying again, "can you just tell me if I'm miscarrying." She pulled off her underwear and looked at the crotch and was relieved there was no blood then she lifted her legs on the stirrups.

Dr. Crowl nodded and slipped gloves on her hands and flipped on the ultrasound machine. She took a vaginal probe and spread lubricant on the tip.

"You'll feel a little pressure," Dr. Crowl said as she slowly inserted the probe.

Olivia closed her eyes and waited for it to pass then once the images came up on the ultrasound screen she looked.

A few moments passed and then the fetal heartbeat was audible. Olivia found herself letting out a small sigh of relief. That was one disaster averted but there were so many others.

"We have a heartbeat and I don't see any classic signs or symptoms so it seems you are in the clear. Based on the size of your fetus I'd say you're little more than 6 and a half weeks. Does that sound accurate?"

Olivia nodded.

Dr. Crowl pulled the probe from between Olivia's legs and wiped between Olivia's legs. She pulled her legs from the stirrups and sat up and hopped off the table. She slipped on her underwear and wrapped the blanket around her shoulders then headed out of the room before Dr. Crowl could stop her.

"Where did you take him?" she asked one of the officers.

"We need to bring you in for questioning," the officer said. "No one is being charged right now."

"I'm not answering a single question until I see him so what are you gonna do?"

The officer shrugged and said something into his radio then someone responded and he turned to Olivia. "Come with me."

She could see Maya standing beside them but she ignored her and followed the officer. Maya followed behind them and it wasn't until they were almost at the exit of the hospital that Olivia heard a thud behind her. When she turned around Maya was unconscious on the floor.

"MOMMY!," she screamed.

Olivia watched Maya's eyes flutter open early in the morning.

"What happened?" she asked groggily as she looked to Olivia who was sitting in the chair by her bed.

Olivia stood and walked to the side of the bed. "You had takotsubo cardiomyopathy. It's kind of like a pseudo heart attack brought on by stress. Dr. Roslin gave you ace-inhibitors and anticoagulants since you have a history of strokes. You should feel 100% in about a month."

Maya nodded.

"Are you in pain?" Olivia asked.

"No."

"Why didn't you tell me you were feeling chest pain earlier?"

"It didn't seem important considering everything that was going on. Is the baby okay? When you came out I wasn't sure."

"You don't have to pretend to be concerned about whether or not my bastard baby is alive." Olivia shook her head, "I just wanted to make sure you were okay when you woke up but I have to go to the police station."

"Wait- that's not how I feel, not anymore- I'm sorry about telling Herman anything, I didn't think he could ever do something like this."

"I told you he could but you didn't believe me I guess."

"I'm so sorry Livie- I wasn't thinking. You left, you wouldn't answer my calls and I have no one to talk to so when I came home from the supermarket and he was there I...I just...I was venting and if I'd known I would never-"

"I divorced him and I got a restraining order against him because he was stalking me. You know that but you only see the good in him because that is what you want to see. I came there tonight to tell you I was moving out but that it didn't mean I didn't want you in my life. I was hoping we could make up and that you could understand that even if you didn't agree with every choice I made that at the very least we could still have a relationship. Instead, I almost died and you almost died and Fitz is in a holding cell because he had to shoot Herman in the chest to stop him from carrying out some fatal attraction fantasy on me- because of what you told him."

"You'll never know how sorry I am," Maya cried, "I could never try to hurt my only living child Olivia, you know that. I'll do anything to show you that all I care about is you and my future grandbaby. I won't say anything bad about him-"

"It's not all on you," Olivia said, "the way I told you about it was wrong and even the way that things got started between us was wrong but it's done. I can't change anything, Fitz didn't force me to do anything. I know you're worried I'll get hurt and maybe I will but you at least have to let me try to live. I can't be your hopes and dreams and the apple of your eyes and everything else. It's too much pressure."

Maya took her hand."I know, I know, I'm stuck in some bad habits but I will try to do better. I wished this didn't happen. I just love you so much, you know, when you're a mom you'll understand but I really will try to do better."

Olivia nodded. "I love you too."

Maya reached for her and Olivia leaned down and hugged her tightly, even though Maya was hooked up at least a dozen wires monitoring her vitals and organs. Water came to Olivia's eyes and she leaned up and wiped them.

"I have to go to make sure he's okay. His sister said he was but they're not allowing her to talk to him."

Maya nodded. "Are they saying they're gonna charge him?"

"No one knows what's going on. They're saying he hasn't been charged but they're not letting him go. If they try to talk to you, you can't say anything without a lawyer, okay?"

"Okay. Is the baby okay? You still didn't answer."

Olivia nodded, "the baby is okay."

Olivia walked to the door and Maya realized she was still shoeless with only socks on her feet.

"Borrow my crocs, you need shoes, it's cold out."

"Right," Olivia said.

"And my jacket," Maya added.

Olivia quickly slipped on the crocs and parka and then waved to her mother again before heading off.

When she arrived at the police station with the same two officers who'd been escorting her earlier she saw Arianna laying on a bench in the waiting room. Olivia quickly hurried over.

"Arianna," she called.

Arianna jumped up quickly. She dozed off an hour earlier. She looked at her phone screen and realized that she'd missed calls from Olivia and her parents.

"Hey sorry, I was so tired. I dozed off."

"It's okay," Olivia said quickly, "you still haven't seen him?"

"No," Arianna said, "are you okay? I still don't know what happened and no one will tell me. What did he do?"

Olivia walked closer and leaned to Arianna, "Fitz said I shouldn't say anything until his lawyer gets her," she whispered.

"He's on his way from New York. He should be here any minute."

An officer cleared his throat.

"I have to go," Olivia said to Ariana and then quickly turned away with the officers.

They took her behind the security door and where there were officers working at their desk.

"Dr. Pope?" an officer said from across the room.

Olivia turned and recognized him.

"Officer Stewart," Olivia said.

He walked over quickly, "what's going on?" he asked his colleagues.

"We've taken her in for questioning in a code 6 turned lethal."

"Oh no. What? What happened?" he said.

"That's what we're trying to find out," the other officer replied.

"She's a doc, a Mass Gen, I see her all the time when I take perps over to the hospital-" he stopped, "wait, is it that ex-husband?"

"Yeah...a Herman Bloom from Brooklyn but she won't say anything so-"

"Let me get on the case. She had a restraining order against the guy from a couple years back and he kept showing up at the hospital and her apartment. I was on the case. If he showed up and they got into an altercation, he was breaking his protective order."

"Okay, maybe you can get her to talk," the officer said then he handed Officer Stewart a stack of paper.

He nodded, "Dr. Pope, why don't you come with me."

Olivia followed him to a small room in the back along with another officer.

"Can I get you coffee or tea?" he asked.

Olivia shook her head.

"What do you need, before we get started."

Olivia was silent for a moment, "I need to see him."

The man looked down to the front of the stack of papers then looked at Olivia.

"Ugh...Fitzgerald Grant, he's who we're holding?" he asked.

Olivia nodded.

"Okay, as a favor, I'll let you see him but you guys can't talk about what happened. Because there was a shooting and we got called in on a domestic violence dispute we have to take your statements separately."

Olivia nodded.

"Okay, let's go."

Olivia stood quickly and followed him outside of the room, down the hall to an area where there was a large holding cell. He looked at the paper and then went to a cell, "Fitzgerald Grant?" he called as he opened the gate.

Fitz stood and walked to him and the officer stepped aside and let him out. Olivia walked to him quickly.

"Are you okay?'

He nodded, "are you. You said your stomach hurt-"

"It's fine, it's totally fine, the cramping stopped and everything is fine."

"Okay good-"

"-Where is my client?" a suited man with a brief case asked loudly, grabbing the attention of everyone. He was accompanied by an officer.

"He's the lawyer," the officer told him as they walked closer.

"I hope no one has been talking to my clients without their lawyer present?" he asked. "I'll need a well ventilated room with adequate chairs and some water, go fetch."

Olivia saw one of the officers sigh and rolled his eyes, "follow me."

Fitz's lawyer stepped ahead and they followed behind him and the squad of police. They led them back to the same room Olivia had been in earlier and left the three of them.

Once they were alone Olivia wrapped her arms around Fitz and hugged him tightly.

"I'm so sorry about all of this-"

"-don't be sorry about anything."

The man pulled out a chair and sat.

"Okay, please tell me no one said a word."

"I didn't say anything, I swear."

Fitz nodded, "well they know I shot him but that's kind of obvious if I'm claiming self defense."

"That's fine," he said as he took out a notepad. "I want you to tell me what happened."

The two of them walked over and sat at the table.

"Where is that water I asked for?" the man yelled as he flipped through some documents a police officer had given him.

He waited and when no officer came he smiled, "I just want to check that the room is soundproof. Also, I apologize for not getting here sooner, the thanksgiving weekend just ended and it was hell getting a flight."

"It's fine, Jaime," Fitz said.

"Okay, so what happened, are we in a lot of trouble?"

"We shouldn't be. It was a licensed gun with no silencer, she had a restraining order against him which he broke and his fingerprints are on the knife he tried to stab her with."

"Who is this man?"

"My ex-husband," Olivia said.

"It's very important that you didn't know he was going to be there. If it can be proven that you called him there or that you know he was there and went then they can try to flip this on you."

"It can't," Fitz said.

"Okay, did you shoot him in the front or back."

"Front," Fitz said.

"Can they prove that you could have left but didn't?"

"I heard her scream and I went into the apartment," Fitz said. "That's about it."

Jaime jotted down more notes.

"You have a strong self-defense claim which is why they haven't charged you yet and I'm sure they're scouring the scene right now for anything that can prove otherwise but they won't really know what happened until you give them a picture but we won't give them a clear picture. Tell them the absolutely bare minimum, don't volunteer information and don't lie. I'll be right here. We'll talk to them now and in about 30 minutes, you'll have been here for 6 hours and at that point they'll have to charge you or let you go."

"What's my exposure, if they do decide to charge me."

"There's a lot they can charge you with but only if they can prove you didn't act in self-defense. There's a duty to retreat in Boston which is the opposite of standing your ground basically. If you can avoid a confrontation then it's your legal obligation to." He glanced at the paper again, "it says your mother was involved?"

"She was there, yes," Olivia said. "Herman showed up and she found him in the hallway and she was talking to himside my apartment."

"Okay but she didn't tell you she was going to do that?"

"No."

He took a breath, "I was trying to avoid this but your mother should get a lawyer, I can't represent all three of your interests. This isn't to alarm you, I don't think she has any legal liability if it's what she says happened then she's fine. They're really gonna be looking at you Fitz, you pulled the trigger so you have the liability."

Fitz nodded.

"So just give me a quick rundown of what happened so I don't have any surprises when you're giving your statement. If your omitting something tell me your omitting it and if there's anything you don't want the officers to know tell me so I can steer them away from it."

Olivia nodded, aware she had to be careful about how she worded her statement, "we went to dinner last night and afterwards I decided to stop by my mom to grab some textbooks for a surgery I have scheduled on Thursday. I also wanted to tell her I was moving out. I went into the building and I found Herman stepping out of my apartment."

As Olivia spoke Fitz listened carefully because he wasn't there for that part and he wanted to see how well Olivia could omit parts of the story. He was sure they were on the same page about what they could and could not say. Maya however was another story.

"-wait, are there cameras in your building?"

Olivia remembered and nodded then she realized that Fitz had to be on camera with Alesander and the rest of them.

"They probably have the footage by now then," Jaime said.

"They probably won't see me on it," Fitz interjected.

"You're always very thorough," Jaime said smugly then chuckled. "Alright, continue."

Olivia took a sigh of relief then began again, "I asked him why he was there and he never answered. For a moment I thought my mom wasn't home and he'd broken in or something. Anyways, I told him the restraining order still stands and that he can't show up at my apartment anymore."

"Anymore? Has he been there before?"

Olivia looked to Fitz and he shook his head at Jaime.

"Okay so we'll avoid that question. Got it, continue."

Olivia sighed nervously.

"It's fine, this is why you're talking to Jaime first," Fitz said.

She nodded and continued, "he grabbed me and I screamed. By that time Fitz was in the apartment and he heard me and called my name. Herman pulled me inside. My door has a slam lock so it locks automatically. He covered my mouth and nose so I couldn't breath and he was holding me against his chest. I was struggling to get free and that's when my mom. Fitz called again and my mom screamed for help. Fitz banged on the door, I think, I was having a hard time breathing so for a moment I wasn't sure what was going on. All I know is that he dropped me and then grabbed my mom with a knife from the kitchen. It's kind of an open kitchen so as soon as your walk down the foyer, you're in the kitchen. Fitz opened the door and came in and that's when he saw Herman with the knife at my mom's throat."

"How did he get in?"

"With a key."

Jaime nodded, "did you give him the key?"

"We're gonna steer away from that one," Fitz said.

Jaime nodded and continued.

"What was his behavior? Herman?"

"He was erratic and frantic. My mom told him that Fitz and I we're expecting and it set him off and I showed up at the worst time possible."

Jaime took notes and nudged her to continue.

"Fitz tried to talk to him to get him to put away the knife but he wouldn't so Fitz pulled his gun."

"Was that the point when you shot him?" Jaime asked.

"No, I was still trying to talk him down. Olivia managed to do it actually, and she got him to let her mother go and then he hugged her with the knife in fist and tried to kiss her. When she rebuffed. She fell and he raised the knife to stab her and I gave him a double tap. He died within maybe 20 seconds."

"Okay, sounds good, you didn't move him, I know you fitz because your careful but sometimes you surprise me by doing something crazy."

"I didn't move him," Fitz said.

"Awesome."

"One question before I call them in. Why did your mother tell the man with a restraining order things about your personal life."

"I was moving out, we were fighting and she said that she was just venting to him, she didn't know he was capable of this."

"You spoke to her? Where is she now?"

"At the hospital, this whole thing gave her takotsubo cardiomyopathy."

"What?" Jaime asked, confused.

"It's a stress induced heart condition, like a pseudo heart attack."

"Is she okay?" Fitz asked.

"They're observing her but she's okay."

"Okay," Jaime said as he stood. "I'm gonna call them in so we can get the hell out of here."

Olivia and Fitz walked out of the station just after 6am. Arianna was snoring on the bench.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Olivia asked as they walked to Arianna. He had his hand wrapped around her shoulder, clutching her close. "I'm so sorry it had to come to this."

"There's nothing to be sorry about. He would've killed your mother or you, this was the only way. Yeah, I'm annoyed your mother said anything but if he didn't find out today he would've found out later and maybe it would've been worse."

Olivia nodded and Fitz leaned down and kissed her softly and let his lips linger on her. Jaime walked out from the police officer.

"We're good," he said as he walked to them, "I'm gonna hang around town for a few days to make sure that everything stays good. Apart from maybe some follow up and stuff, we're pretty straight."

Fitz nodded.

Jaime waved to Olivia and Fitz and then he was out the door.

"Watch this?" Fitz said before he leaned over and reached into his pocket and took out a coin then slipped it in Arianna's open snoring mouth.

She reflexively closed her mouth and then tasted the cold coin and jumped up and spat it out. She looked up and Fitz and saw him smiling, "oh, you bitch!"

He chuckled, "come on, let's go."

"Let's go? What the hell happened," she stood and stretched, "are you okay? You've never been arrested? How was it?"

"Apart from having a hobo tell me he'd suck my dick when I tried to take a piss, I'm fine."

Arianna chuckled, "are you guys gonna tell me what happened. You've been very hush, hush about it."

"I'll tell you later."

"Mom and dad are on the way…" Arianna said quickly.

"You didn't?"

"I'm sorry, how was I supposed to know when they'd let you out."

Fitz sighed annoyed, "it's okay, come on, lets go."

Arianna hugged him slightly under his arm. It was an awkward hug because his arm was attached around Olivia and it made it hard to properly hug him. Fitz kissed her temple slightly then Arianna let him go.

The three of them headed out of the building.

When Olivia and Fitz walked into their hotel room, Camilla dashed over to him and hugged him.

"Thank god you're okay," she said breathlessly.

Olivia's lower jaw fell from her top jaw. She was just irritated enough from exhaustion to pick a fight. She walked over to pull Camilla from him but saw when Fitz backed away from her.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"I was worried about you-"

"I'm fine, I spent a couple hours in jail, I'll live. Olivia is here now. We're not sleeping together anymore. I already told you that we can't have the same relationship that we had before so don't let me tell you again, okay?"

Camilla shook her head, as if she was confused but didn't answer.

"Olivia, I have to talk to the guys outside so you can go ahead and get in the shower and I'll join you in a sec."

Olivia nodded and headed to the bathroom.

"Fitz-"

"Just go," he said, "I'm tired."

Fitz opened the door and Camilla reluctantly stepped out. Alesander and Andrey walked in.

"We took care of everything on our end but Wade is still keeping an eye out on what they're entering into the system about you, just in case they try to surprise you. If anything comes up even slightly interesting Wade let you know," Alesander said in his usual broken english. "They want to talk to the mother, that's all. They'll do it today."

They talked for a few minutes and then Fitz decided to end it.

"Fly in another squad of guys so you can take a break."

They both nodded and headed out. Fitz closed the door behind them and stripped out of his clothes as he walked to the bathroom.

When he walked in Olivia was sitting in the bathtub with suds up to her neck, fast asleep with her mouth slightly open.

He stepped out of his pants and stepped into the water and hovered over Olivia. She didn't move. He sat and pulled her to him. She was limp in his arms as he laid her against his chest and leaned back. Her straight hair became curly from the water.

Fitz kissed her lips softly, she stretched slightly in the water but never woke and as he laid in the water with his arms around he finally admitted to himself that he loved her.
