When Olivia woke Fitz was staring at her. It was still dark out.

"Hey," she said sleepily.

After she said the words she noticed he was dressed.

"Something came up, I have to leave for a few days."

Olivia leaned up slowly.

"Is everything okay?" she asked softly.

"It will be," he said.

"Something's wrong...don't tell me, I don't want to worry….wait, I thought the police said you can't leave."

He shook his head and chuckled, "that's a first and unless there's a court order, I don't care." He took a stack of bills that read $10,000 on the white band around it. There was a credit card on top of it. "Here's some cash and a card. Use it for whatever you need."

Fitz watched her and waited for her to complain.

"Thanks," Olivia said.

"I was expecting some griping," he commented.

"I'm trying to stop," she said with a small smile. "I'm not used to getting all the things you give me...sometimes it feels...wrong."

"That's because you think you don't deserve it."

Olivia frowned, unwilling to admit that to him. "I don't know if that's what it is."

"I'm not wrong," Fitz teased then leaned over and kissed her lips softly, "stay close to your guards. I'll be back soon."

"Something is wrong…"

"No, I just have to go take care of this dickhead."

"By 'take care'...you mean…"

He chuckled, "talk to them," he said with a shrug then a smile.

"Talk to them?" she asked skeptically.

"Very, very nicely," Fitz added. "With all the manners and etiquette Catherine taught me."

"So you have to leave to talk to them…"

"This is the kind of talking to that needs a personal touch," Fitz answered, then he leaned over and kissed her again. "Don't miss me too much."

Olivia smiled, "was it me or you who crawled their ass all the way to Boston to apologize to me and give me a brand new car?"

"I wouldn't say 'crawled'...that's a bit dramatic but everything else is quite accurate," Fitz teased then he stood.

"You're coming back right?" Olivia asked. It sounded more desperate than she intended it to.

He chuckled, "you didn't just ask that."

Olivia shrugged.

"I'll be back in a couple of days before you're even ready to get in the condo. Also, I'm sending Camilla back to Spain later today."

"Why?"

"She's served her purpose. She'll pack my stuff up and send them here and anything else you need from her, she can do from Spain."

"What about the cleaners and the chef and stuff?"

"She can finish that up today."

Olivia chuckled, "fine." She stood from the bed in her panties and a cami top. "It feels so weird for you to leave...even though I've been preparing myself for it."

She picked up the credit card from the nightstand. It was a platinum American Express and on the back, her name was printed: Olivia Carolyn Pope.

"This one, you won't have any problems using," Fitz said. His phone chimed in his pocket. "I have to go."

"No sex? That's very unceremonious."

Fitz grinned, "After years without dick I'm sure you can last a couple of days."

"I'm not sure about that," she quipped, "besides we're talking about two completely different penises."

Fitz walked to her and grabbed her tight in his arms. He licked his finger then reached into her panties and rubbed it against her clit. "Two days. I'm not gonna fuck you because I want you to really miss me."

"You're sick," Olivia said as she bit her lips and grinned.

Fitz continued massaging her clit as he licked up the side of her neck, "but that's what makes me fun."

"Mhmm…." she moaned.

There was a knock on the door.

"Fuck," he cursed as he pulled his fingers away and licked them. "I really have to go. Just finish yourself off. It won't be as good as if I did it but you'll live."

Olivia frowned. "Fine. Bye."

He chucked, "bye."

He squeezed her ass with both hands quickly before heading out the door.

When the door shut Olivia sighed and plopped down on the bed. She was trying to stay upbeat because Fitz leaving was something she had to get used to. After some time lounging on the bed, she went to the nightstand for her phone to check her messages. There was one from Abby, thanking her for her help, and another from Maya, asking what time she would stop by. It was still very early. She responded to them both then called for room service and ordered extra to bring for Maya then went to brush her teeth and take a bath.

She arrived at the hospital close to noon. As she walked down the hall towards Maya's suite Abby was headed her way.

"Hey," she said.

"Rough night," Olivia said to her tired friend. The bags under her green eyes were stark.

"Jason, that asshole paramedic, came in last night."

"Jason? I saw him yesterday- apparently, he hates me because I gagged when he asked me out at a Christmas party a couple of years ago."

"Oh my god, I remember, I forgot that was him." Abby said, "yeah he's in ICU. They found him behind a bar last night beaten up pretty badly. We had to operate on him."

Olivia shook her head, her thoughts immediately drifted to Fitz. "Do they know what happened?"

"The police think he probably got into a bar fight," Abby answered.

"Is he going to be alright?" Olivia asked.

"He had a pretty bad head injury with some massive bleeding in the brain. Dr. Roberts thinks he might have brain damage but you know we have to wait till he's awake."

Olivia nodded, unsure of what to say then she finally found the words, "you look tired, get some rest."

"Hey, I know it's happened and we need to talk but I wanted to ask again about your apartment. I know the police still have it occupied after Herman but when they allow you back inside, would you still let me move in with your mom."

"I'm gonna give up the lease. Mom doesn't want to stay there after everything that's happened and I can't blame her. We're gonna have to find a new place and I still haven't really talked to her about you living with her."

"Olivia seriously," Abby groaned. "I'm pretty much couch surfing, it's not fair, you know...I was paying rent, we were roommates and she kicked me out and it's been literally a couple of months and I really need somewhere to stay."

"I know Abby, I'm sorry, I'm gonna talk to her today and if you can find any places for the two of you then let me know and I can have the deposit for you guys okay?"

Abby smiled, "your rich boyfriend would pay for it?"

"No, I would, I have some savings."

Abby nodded, "Okay, I'm gonna find a place, I just need to take a nap in the on-call room so I can see straight then I'll look."

Olivia nodded and headed off before Abby stopped her.

"I was thinking that if your mom decides she doesn't want me living with her then maybe I can just stay in your old apartment and try to find a roommate there. Would you be okay with that?"

Olivia nodded, "that works, I don't mind."

Abby hugged her, "thanks Liv. By the way, we still have to talk about that hottie."

"Well," Olivia said with a smile, nervously. "Why don't you get some rest and then come back with me to my hotel. We can order some room service and hang out like old times, maybe study a little and I can 'not' answer questions about my relationship."

Abby chuckled, "that sounds perfect actually."

"I have to get Maya checked out and settled at her hotel which will take at least a few hours then I can pick you up."

Abby nodded. "I'll need some wine."

Olivia shook her head, "I know."

Olivia headed off again and Abby did as well. When she got to Maya's room, her doctor was with her.

"Dr. Pope," the woman said, "I was just telling your mother she's all set to go. Everything looks great."

"Good morning," Olivia said, "I'm glad to hear."

"The nurse will be back shortly with all the paperwork, Dr. Pope, you know the drill."

Olivia nodded with a smile.

The doctor headed out leaving Olivia and Maya alone.

"How are you feeling?" Olivia asked as she walked to Maya.

"Good, ready to get out of here,"

Olivia handed her mother a paper bag with breakfast.

"I brought you breakfast, I know the food here is horrible...well...except the jello. It's cold because I ordered it so early this morning. I can heat it up for you."

Maya chuckled, "no baby, it's alright, thanks." She sat on the bed and opened her breakfast from the bag "So how are you feeling?" Maya asked, "Any sickness."

"Not really, I puked today after breakfast but that happens sometimes. Not often enough for me to classify it as morning sickness."

"This looks delicious- it's from that fancy hotel you're staying at?"

Olivia nodded shyly.

"Mom, before the nurse comes back, I wanted to talk to you about having Abby move in with you."

"I don't want to live with her. She's a young girl and there are certain things I don't want to put up with."

"Mom, we don't really have a choice. She's been my friend for years. You'll have separate rooms and as you love to say, you can just mind your business," Olivia finished with a chuckle. "She works long hours. She'll barely be there. But mom, she was paying rent and you kicked her out and now she has no place to stay so you kind of owe her this."

Maya sighed, "I just...really don't want to."

"Well, I think you might have to. It's so much cheaper to have a roommate and this way, you can manage the rent and you won't need my help. I can help but I know you don't want that."

"Fine," Maya said, "I'll do it." She took some of the food from the plate and stuffed it in her mouth. "-ohhh….oh my god."

"What...what's wrong?" Olivia asked.

"This is delicious."

Olivia shook her head and chuckled, "I thought you'd like it. The lemon ricotta pancake is the best thing they have."

Maya scarfed down her breakfast which delighted Olivia.

Later the nurse stopped by with all the discharge paperwork and after signing Olivia texted Abby to let her know Maya had agreed before they headed down to the lobby of the hospital.

Olivia walked out to the curb towards the spot where she parked her Mercedes.

"Olivia?" A woman called, walking out from the hospital waiting room towards her.

Olivia recognized the voice immediately. It was Herman's mother, Jennifer.

"Jennifer?" Olivia said as she turned around slowly.

"How dare you?" she screamed.

Olivia turned around and continued to her car. Andrey was standing close by. She walked ahead of Maya to drive her car closer to the lobby so Maya wouldn't have to walk too far.

"Do you want me to get rid of her?" Andrey asked.

"Wait-" Olivia said to him.

"Don't walk away from me. You killed my only son and didn't even have the courtesy to tell me so I could come for his body. I had to watch it on the news while he was lying in a morgue! How dare you, Olivia. How dare you. My son left and never came back."

"I have nothing to say to you, Jennifer," Olivia barked back. "You obviously knew he was coming to see me when he wasn't allowed to and you let him. When I told you your son was crazy you ignored me so I don't care what you think. You ignored me and you enabled him by telling him he was right."

Maya stood from the wheelchair the nurse brought her to the door in and walked through the automatic double door of the lobby and saw them across the lot, far enough away that she couldn't hear what they were saying but she knew the woman and rushed over, feeling her heart rate increase in her chest. If it was Herman's mother, it couldn't be good.

"What's going on?" Maya yelled as she got closer and could make out the screaming match between them. There was a man who she remembered was in the apartment the night Herman died. He was standing close to Olivia.

"Mom-no, don't get involved, you just got out of the hospital. We're not talking to her, let's go," Olivia said, holding her mother's hand.

"No-" Maya insisted, "what issue do you have with my daughter, Jennifer?"

"She killed my son-"

"I'm glad he's dead," Olivia barked, pointing in Jennifer's face "he tormented me for years and if you had done your job as a mother and told him he was wrong maybe, just maybe, he'd still be alive. I called you and cried to you, begging you to just talk to him to tell him to stop, to leave me alone and you said no! You said you can't get involved so I didn't involve you."

"You fucking evil bitch-" Jennifer screamed, sobbing. "I knew he should have stayed far away from you."

"GO TO HELL WITH YOUR SON," Olivia barked.

"I think you should walk away," Andrey said to Jennifer.

"No- I want justice for my son."

"Justice? You're kidding right?" Olivia said, astounded.

"If you want justice, talk to me. Olivia had nothing to do with this. She didn't even know he was going to be there. I told him she'd moved on and that made him upset." Maya stepped towards Jennifer, "Jennifer, you know he was out of control. I know as mothers, we do everything to protect our children. I know you're hurting but this couldn't be avoided. He held a knife to my throat and he did the same to Olivia. He was going to kill my daughter."

"No," she said, shaking her head, "this- she provoked him. This didn't have to happen."

"It didn't," Maya said, "but you enabled him."

Jennifer growled, angry.

"I'm sorry this happened to you, as a mother, I'm sorry but I'd kill your son with my two bare hands before I feel bad that my daughter lived. Now go mourn your son and bury him and leave me and my daughter the hell alone," Maya said.

Jennifer lurched at Maya. Olivia stepped to push her away but before Jennifer could get close Andrey was lifting her as she struggled to fight him.

Barca walked over.

"Are you okay?"

Olivia nodded and took a breath.

She turned to Maya. "Mom, you're in no condition to get this riled up?".

"Hush, even on my deathbed I wouldn't let that woman come up here and talk to you like that. I feel fine. Are you okay?"

"I feel fine," Olivia took a breath, "I feel good actually, I've always wanted to say that to her. I needed to tell her." She shook her head, "I'm a drama magnet."

Maya shook her head. "Yes, you've been busy."

Olivia shook her head and smiled softly then she turned to her car and pulled a key from her purse. With a beep as she pressed the fob, it lit up.

"Huh?" Maya said, confused.

Olivia took the hospital bag from Maya's hand and opened the passenger door and shoved it in the back.

"This is his car?" Maya said, remembering when they drove away in it.

"No, it's mine. He bought it for me." Olivia said as she held the door open for me.

She looked hesitant.

"Mom, please, don't make a big deal about it."

Maya sighed and climbed into the passenger seat. Olivia closed the door.

"We'll be right behind you," Barca said.

Olivia nodded and walked around to the driver's seat and sat in then pressed the start button.

"Good afternoon, Olivia. The temperature outside is 55 degrees Fahrenheit," the voice from the car announced.

"It's nice," Maya said, begrudgingly, "but I never knew things like this interested you."

Olivia chuckled, "I couldn't afford to be interested in things like this but that doesn't mean I never liked nice things. I didn't ask for it. He gave it to me."

"Olivia," Maya said.

"No mom, remember you're not judging. I was with Herman for years and I got absolutely nothing from it. We split everything, every bill, every expense and that was fine but I've done that before so there's nothing wrong if I'm being treated now. I have a hard enough time accepting things from him as it is and if I feel like you're judging then it'll only be harder so please don't."

Maya sighed, "I'm not saying don't accept them. I'm just saying that please Olivia, be smart, don't put all your hopes and dreams into him. Please look out for yourself so that if things go wrong, you'll be okay."

She laughed, "mom, you've been telling me this since I was like 13. In a few years, I'll be a neurosurgeon and I'll make more than enough to do whatever I want for myself but for right now, I think I want to enjoy this."

"Okay, that's fair."

Olivia chuckled, "this...I'm not used to. You usually put up more of a fight than this."

"Yeah well, the Herman thing is still fresh. I need that to wear off before I have an attitude again."

Olivia guffawed and shook her head, "thanks, that's so very kind," she said sarcastically.

She entered the hotel name in her GPS and pulled off when she had the directions.

"Where is he anyway?"

"You ask about him now?" Olivia said, avoiding the question.

"I'm on my best behavior, remember?"

"Yeah, I forgot."

"So, what else did he get you?"

"Mom-"

"Come on, tell me. If my daughter is living in luxury, I want to know."

Olivia sighed, "he paid off my student loans."

"What?" Maya said, a little too excitedly. She caught herself and calmed down.

"Yeah he did," Olivia said with a chuckle. "He didn't ask me but he did."

"Wow- well, I can't complain about that but geez, that's a lot of money. He really did that?"

She nodded. "He wants me to not have to spend any of my own money, he wants me to save it and invest it. He's paranoid about losing his money. It happened to his father when he was younger so he's always worried about that."

Maya nodded as she digested the information Olivia shared.

"So does he give you money to spend how you want or does he only buy you things?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Because if you have to ask him for every dollar or he just buys it for you and doesn't give you any money to control then...that's controlling. Watch out for that."

"He gives me money. I never ask….ummm...he just gave me my own credit card actually...with my name on it. I think it's because I went shopping with his sister and I had to take his card and they gave us a hard time...probably because we were buying like $15,000 worth of bags."

"Wow," Maya said. "Maybe I misjudged him."

"Yeah, he's not all bad mom, he doesn't have anything to do with drugs or anything like that. I know you don't approve of everything he does but-"

"Olivia, is that what he told you?" Maya asked then sighed, "don't ask him about his business Olivia. If he's smart, he won't tell you everything he does. I know you don't like to hear it but it's true. If you're gonna be with him just accept it. Don't try to make him better than he is and I won't try to make him worse. You're gonna have to separate how he is with you and how he is when he does business. If you're lucky, there are miles of difference between the two."

"So just ignore what he does and don't ask questions?" Olivia asked, insulted.

"If you want your relationship to survive."

"Maybe you're right but I can't do that and when the baby comes, whatever it is that he does...will have to stop."

"And what if it doesn't. It's not easy asking someone to stop making money...especially when there's a lot of it to be made."

"I don't know what will happen then but I don't think we will survive it."

Maya took a breath and nodded.

"I don't want you raising a baby alone."

"I won't and I don't want to either but he's been really clear about how important it is to have a family. His family is really tight so I think he'll be there. These are all hypotheticals so I don't even want to think about them right now."

They arrived at the hotel and checked in. Barca followed them up to their room and stood outside.

"He has these guys following you around? What are they, bodyguards?" Maya said when they stepped inside.

Olivia nodded. "So, you need clothes," she said with a chuckle, "I have to go to the apartment and get you some."

"You really want to go to that place?"

"No, but I'll have to go there eventually…"

"Yeah, but we could buy clothes. It's too soon, we don't even know if it's cleaned up there."

Olivia nodded, "okay I was thinking that but I wasn't sure if you would want me to buy clothes for you."

"We can go somewhere affordable...maybe old navy."

Olivia agreed.

It was hours later when Abby called Olivia. She answered on the first ring.

"Thank god she said yes," Abby said with a yawn. "Are we still on for later? We can look for places while we catch up."

"Yeah but my mind is so fried I wasn't thinking about the fact that I'd hate to leave Maya alone for the night."

"Olivia, it's a takotsubo, she'll be fine alone and I've been looking at her charts. She's fine."

"Abby, she's not the healthiest."

"Okay fine, we'll have a sleepover in her room then."

Olivia laughed, "she'll hate that. How about we hang at my hotel for a little then you just head home and I head to her because I was going to spend the night with her."

"I wanted to spend a night in a luxury hotel. What part of that didn't you get from my desperation?"

Olivia laughed, "I'm sorry. I'd let you sleep in my room but it's weird. It's where Fitz and I sleep."

"Oh god, fine, I'll settle for some girl talk then. Can we do it now though, I'm up now and I feel pretty good and I really want to start looking for places."

"Yeah um, mom is in the shower now but once she gets out I'll let her know I'm leaving for a few hours."

"Okay, let me know when you're on your way."

"Okay."

A few minutes later, Maya walked from the bathroom, wet from her shower.

"I'm gonna go hang out with Abby for a couple of hours then I'll be back, okay mom?"

Maya nodded.

"If you feel even the tiniest bit off- call me, I'm begging you."

"I've been fine for days now," Maya said, exasperated.

"I know but still, I'll only be gone for a few hours. We're gonna search for some places online and I'll send you pictures and you can tell us if you like them."

Maya nodded, "I might go to sleep so if you don't hear from me just show me when you get here."

"Please don't sleep until I get here. Try to watch some tv or something."

Maya nodded.

Olivia walked to her and hugged her, "I'll be back."

Olivia pulled up on the curb of the hospital and watched as Abby ran out and stopped at her car.

"You're not serious?"

"Get in," Olivia said.

"He bought you this- holyyyy shit. No Way."

"Come on Abby, I want to get back to my mom!"

Abby climbed into the passenger seat and locked the seatbelt across her torso.

"This is a $100,000 car Olivia."

"No, it can't be that much," Olivia replied.

"Oh is it because I was looking at the website a few months ago, daydreaming about cars I want to buy when I'm an attending and this was there. They said it wasn't available yet but it starts at like 100k."

"Oh...I didn't know." Olivia said as she pulled off.

"So, spill," Abby said.

"Can you wait until we get to the hotel? I'm starving and a little cranky."

Olivia's phone dinged and she waited until she was at a stoplight before checking briefly. It was Marcy texting her about the apartment and she quickly replied before the light turned green and she pulled off.

"Any updates on Jason?" Olivia asked.

"I didn't check," Abby said.

"Okay," Olivia answered. "Just curious."

She pulled up in front of The Four Seasons and hopped out, Abby did on the other side. Olivia handed the key to the valet and took the receipt before heading into the lobby. She walked to the elevator and Abby followed. They quietly and awkwardly rode the elevator up to Olivia's penthouse suite and then she used her keycard and opened the door.

They both walked in and Abby looked around.

"This is gorgeous."

"I'm gonna order room service. Do you want anything?"

"What do they have?"

Olivia reached into the nightstand and pulled out a menu and handed it to Abby.

"Can I get anything?" Abby asked as she read through the menu

Olivia nodded.

"The grilled lobster. Can I have a cocktail too?"

"Abby, just tell me what you want?"

"I want the rose cocktail too and the chocolate cake."

Olivia nodded and picked up the room line. They answered immediately, "Hi, I'd like to order the grilled lobster entree and the herbed chicken entree as well with sparkling water, the rose cocktail, flat water, two chocolate cakes, and a kale salad please, thank you."

Abby walked around the rack of Olivia's clothes with shoes laid out and bags.

There was a knock on the door. When Olivia walked over, it was Camilla. Barca was standing outside. Olivia had asked him just to keep a little distant so she wouldn't face questions from Abby. A few extra feet behind was as much as he gave her which was enough for him to go undetected by Abby.

"I wanted to give you the information for the workers. They're gonna be down at the restaurant tomorrow at 10am. It's like 6 people. Everything else you need to know is emailed to you."

"Thanks," Olivia said, "safe trip." Then she closed the door without waiting for a response and walked back to Abby.

"Who was that?"

"His assistant," Olivia said, then changed the subject. "Herman's mom showed up today. We argued in the parking lot."

"Really? Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just happy it wasn't in the hospital. Obviously, she was waiting for me there because as soon as I walked through the lobby she followed me out. I can't stand any more drama at work."

"What did she say?"

"That I killed her son."

"Woah," Abby said with a scoff.

"I'm fine, I yelled some horrible things to her and you know what, I don't feel bad."

Olivia's phone rang. When she looked at the number, it was from Sicily and figured Fitz must've finally landed.

"Hello?"

"His mother showed up. What the fuck?"

She smiled, blushing, "yup, but it's okay, I'm fine."

"Are you? Andrey said he had to pull her away."

"She didn't touch me. I was fine," She said with a chuckle. "I'll tell you all about it when you get back."

He sighed, "how's your mother?"

"She's fine. We ended up having to go and buy clothes for her to wear. She really hates that apartment now."

"You're with that redhead now."

"Yeah," Olivia answered, "we just ordered room service and we're gonna eat and then I'm sleeping with Maya tonight."

"Alright. Call me before you go to bed."

"Okay, I will, love you, bye- God no- why do I keep saying that."

Fitz howled out on the phone and Olivia hung up on him.

Abby was grinning ear to ear.

"Don't say anything?"

"Do you love him?" she asked.

"I don't know…." Olivia said sheepishly, then she changed the subject. "We're not talking about that." She walked to the table and grabbed her laptop. "Let's look for apartments."

"How does he have so much money to buy you all these things?" Abby asked.

"He owns hotels and businesses and stuff...all over the world."

"How old is he?"

"29," Olivia answered.

"He makes me feel unsuccessful," she answered. "How's the sex?"

"Not talking about that," Olivia said, blushing.

"Look at you, getting all blushy and embarrassed. He must be driving you crazy."

"It's amazing. I can't believe it sometimes. He touches me and it's like my entire body just has a visceral reaction. He keeps doing all these amazing things for me and it's...I don't know." Olivia laughed, "I'm not telling you anymore."

"Tell me," Abby said.

"I don't know," Olivia said, blushing again.

"How did you meet him?"

"Abby, we're moving on," Olivia said.

She sighed, "fine. I'm glad for you...a little jealous...but glad...wait, does he have friends?"

Olvia laughed, "none in Boston."

"Fine."

They sat for just over two hours as they ate, chatted about the last few weeks, and searched for apartments.

After Olivia dropped Abby off, she headed to Maya. she found her awake and watching soap operas on tv.

"Hey mom," he said.

"Hey sweetheart," Maya said from the plain sofa in her room.

"I brought a change of clothes. I'm gonna shower and then we can look over the apartments. A couple of them are ready to move in."

Maya nodded.

In the bathroom, Olivia dialed Fitz and talked shortly before showering. It was an awkward conversation and he seemed to be rushing off the phone.

She left early in the morning after supervising Maya's medicine intake and making sure she had breakfast to eat. She rushed back to her hotel and dressed then went down to the restaurant in the lobby to meet with the group that Camilla had scheduled. She left the meeting sure of who she would want to work with and sent the information back to Camilla who she assumed had left the States.

When she returned to her room, it was Arianna who texted her, asking if she could stop by with Catherine.

She agreed and about 10 minutes later there was a knock on her door. Olivia opened it quickly and saw both Arianna and Catherine.

"Hi," Olivia said with a smile.

"Hey Liv," Arianna said.

Catherine greeted her with a smile and a kiss.

"I just stopped by to tell you goodbye," Catherine said.

"Yeah, I'm out of here. I'm going back to New York, and mom and dad are flying back to Santa Barbara."

"It's been so good to have you here," Olivia said as she returned another hug to Catherine and Arianna. "Please tell Gerry I said bye. I'm sorry I was so busy yesterday, I had to get my mom from the hospital."

"Oh don't worry, Fitz told us you'd be busy. Also, dad was right behind us," Arianna said.

As soon as she said the words, there was another knock on the door.

"Come in," Olivia called.

Fitz's father walked in.

"Goodbye my dear, it's been great visiting you."

"It's been great seeing you too. I hope we'll be able to do this again soon."

"Please call me if you need anything," Catherine said again. "Anything at all, even if it's just something embarrassing about my son that you can throw in his face. I'll be happy to give it."

Olivia laughed and nodded, "I will."

Gerry walked to her and hugged her. "Take care of yourself."

Olivia nodded.

The three of them left Olivia alone in her room.

She took a breath and pulled out her cell phone and called Fitz. When her call went unanswered she decided to freshen up and meet Maya at her hotel.

It was Abby's day off and Olivia picked her up from home before driving her to the hotel as well. They spent hours applying to apartments and emailing brokers then ordered room service from Maya's hotel. When the food arrived and Abby tasted it she spat it out, dramatically.

"Eww!"

Olivia laughed, "it's not that bad. You're being dramatic."

"It wasn't like the lobster I had last night and the chocolate cake. Oh my god."

"You two were eating lobster last night?" Maya asked.

"Abby...not me," Olivia said.

"Four seasons lobster. It's literally as good as you would think."

Maya shook her head and smiled. Olivia smiled too, glad that Maya hadn't made it awkward. After their time together Olivia decided to drop Abby home. After they'd dressed and made their way down to the car. Once they were strapped in, Olivia searched her GPS history for the address of the place Abby was staying.

"No, just drop me to the hospital, I'll sleep in the on-call room for my shift tomorrow."

"Is it that bad?" Olivia asked.

Abby chuckled, "yup. We're basically broken up."

Olivia started her car and headed to the hospital. She pulled into a spot in the parking lot and turned off her engine.

"I'd let you stay in our room but it's so weird Abby. we've had sex all over the bed and the couch and bathroom. I mean...I know they change the sheets but ugh…"

Abby laughed again, "don't worry about me. When your new apartment is finished with its makeover then I'll spend the night."

"Yeah, definitely. Did I tell you I plan on having housewarming?"

"Oh my god, that's an awesome idea. I'm totally down. I'll be there."

Olivia smiled, "it'll probably be in a few weeks...definitely before Christmas or maybe it'll be a Christmas/housewarming party. I've always wanted to host a party. Now is my chance to kill two birds with one stone."

"Keep me posted on that. It sounds exciting.:"

Olivia nodded, "and um...update me on Jason's condition."

"I'm thinking maybe I could get you a hotel room...just until we're able to get the apartment but I'll have to ask Fitz first because I'd use the money he gave me."

"What if he says no, I don't want it to be weird, just don't worry about it."

"Alright."

Abby unlocked her seatbelt then opened the door, allowing cold fall air to flow inside the car.

"Ugh...Abby, hurry up, it's cold."

She laughed and quickly grabbed her purse.

"Thanks!" she called before the door closed.

Olivia watched Abby sprint through the cold across the dark parking lot and when she entered the lobby of the hospital she heard a knock on her glass. When she looked up, it was Jake, tapping a gun against her window. She froze. Her heartbeat was suddenly in her gut.

"Open the door," he said.

She looked at the start engine button on her car and thought about how fast she would be able to get away.

He knocked again.

"Now. I'm not gonna say it again."

Olivia closed her eyes and took a breath then unlocked her seatbelt. Jake stepped back from the window though the gun was still pointed at her through the window.

Olivia opened the door and stepped out slowly.

"Come with me," he said.

"Why are you doing this? I haven't done anything to you, Jake. Why won't you leave me alone."

"Shut up and hurry up."

Olivia shook her head. She felt tears coming, "no- don't do this."

From the dark shadow of the tree behind them, she saw someone come from behind Jake and grab him. Their arms hooked through his restraining him and their fingers covering his eyes. Jake dropped his gun.

It was Fitz.

"Sometimes I think you don't know me at all," Fitz whispered in his ear. It was a rough whisper and Olivia was able to hear it in the quiet parking lot.

Barca came from the side and stuffed a piece of cloth in Jake's mouth before he could scream and the group of them stepped back into the shadows. It all happened so quickly.

Olivia stepped back, against her car.

"Did you really think I was gonna fall for that?" Fitz said then he began to dig into Jake's eyes with his fingers. Jake cried out as Fitz dug into his eye sockets but his sound was muffled, barely audible. "What did I tell you would happen?" Fitz said angrily. Now in the night, with the moon shining down, she could see blood running down Fitz's fingers as he continued digging, intent on blinding Jake. She watched, still shocked by the fact that Fitz was standing there, in the parking lot of her hospital in Boston and not in Sicily as he led her to believe. He obviously knew Jake was coming.

He dug and dug until she heard something splatter on the ground. It was one of Jake's eyeballs then the other followed. Once he'd gruesomely blinded Jake Fitz stepped back and pushed him over to Barca.

"Get him out of here," Fitz said.

Alesander was back. He grabbed the eyeballs from the ground and Jake's gun. Fitz reached into his pocket and took out a handkerchief and wiped his bloody hands then he stepped over to Olivia.

"Come on, let's get out of here, I'll drive," he said with an exasperated sigh.

Robotically, Olivia walked around to the other side of the car. She looked around and there was no one close enough to them in the staff parking lot to see. There were others over in the guest parking lot but they were far away in the dark.

Fitz opened the door and Olivia stepped in then he closed it behind her and walked around and stepped in the driver's seat. She looked over and saw Alesander pouring something on the ground, almost like a chemical to degrade the blood on the asphalt and that was when Olivia was sure they'd known. It made sense now why Barca and Andrey disappeared, they were giving Jake an opportunity to come out in the open.

Olivia locked her seatbelt across her torso and leaned back in the seat. A car entered the parking lot on the other side as Fitz pulled out.

Neither said anything for a few blocks as he drove then Fitz cleared his throat.

"In the future, if someone points a gun at you through a window, don't open the door and go to them."

"What was I supposed to do? Drive away so he can shoot at me and kill me and my baby?" Olivia yelled, angrily.

"Driving away is exactly what you're supposed to do in a bulletproof car," Fitz yelled back.

"Bulletproof car? How was I supposed to know that? You didn't tell me?"

Fitz shook his head, "this glass is fucking half an inch thick. Why did you think that was?"

"I thought that was just how they made the car."

"I would have never let him get that close to you if I knew you were gonna open your door and get out."

"This is not fair," she said, holding back tears, "how can you blame me for something I didn't know."

Fitz sighed, "I'm not blaming you for anything. I blame myself. I shouldn't have assumed you knew that. He never should've been close enough to you to have a gun pointed at you. I'm sorry."

"Whatever," Olivia said as she wiped her eyes, "you should have told me he was going to try to take me. What if he shot me?"

"He wouldn't have done that."

"Well what if he did!" Olivia screamed.

Fitz took a breath but said nothing. They drove for a while and Olivia waited. "That's it. You aren't gonna say anything?"

"What do you want me to say?"

Olivia rolled her eyes, "just drop me at my mom's hotel. I'm gonna stay with her tonight."

He continued down the block and parked in front of the hotel.

"You can't run to your mom every time we have a disagreement."

"This isn't a disagreement. Someone pointed a gun at me tonight-"

"- I know, but going to your mom isn't gonna fix it."

"Fine," Olivia said. She opened the door and stepped out.

Fitz did too. He handed the keys to the valet and told them his room number then they headed inside the building.

They took the elevator up together. Olivia wasn't sure whether or not to text Maya that she would no longer be coming over. She still wasn't sure how her night was going to progress with Fitz.

They walked into the suite and Fitz pulled off his jacket and kicked off his shoes. The cuffs of his jacket were bloody but the black fabric made it hard to see. He walked to the bathroom right away and washed the residue of blood from his hands and fingertips. Olivia pulled off her boots and jacket and waited for Fitz to come out of the bathroom so she could wash up.

When he left the bathroom, Olivia headed that way but Fitz blocked her path.

"Come here," he said, taking her by the hand and pulling her towards the couch.

Olivia walked and sat down on the couch where Fitz guided her then he sat beside her and pulled his phone from his pocket and opened it.

"Listen," he said as he pulled up the recording and played it for Olivia.

Olivia listened, confused at first but as it played in its entirety she understood.

"So how did you know he was going to come here?" she asked him.

"I know him. He did all of that to pull me from Boston so he could come here for you. I flew to Sicily and made sure he knew I was there and like I thought he jumped on a flight to Boston. I turned right around. I've been here since this morning.``

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"He wasn't supposed to get close enough for you to even know he was here…" Fitz said, "but he's good at hiding from me because he knows how I find people. When we found out you were going to the hospital, we went ahead of you, parked in the lot, figuring it was his last chance to show up and as soon as he did, we rushed over."

Olivia nodded, finally understanding what happened.

"What are you going to do? I mean…this is scary."

"Not really. This isn't the first time people have come after me. Once Jake is out of the picture and your father and Marco know, they'll pull back."

"What about your hotels-"

"I'm not worried about that. I have security and if that fails, I have insurance."

Olivia leaned back and folded her feet on the sofa.

"What?" Fitz asked as he leaned to her.

"I don't know...I don't know what I'm feeling...I was terrified and I feel like for the past few months I'm constantly in these situations where I feel like my life is on the brink of being taken from me and if that wasn't bad enough I watched you gauge someone's eyes from their socket and it's like nothing to you...just another night."

Fitz shook his head, weary of where the conversation was headed. "What are you saying?"

"I need to know when this will stop. It can't be like this forever. When I give birth…" tears came to her eyes, "when we have our little son or daughter, it can't be like this."

"It won't."

"Really? I find it hard to believe. Jake might be gone but Marco and the others won't just disappear. If and when you deal with them then you'll have another enemy and another and another. When will it stop?"

"Are you saying you regret this?"

Olivia wiped her eyes, "I…" she took a breath, "I love you. I'm not afraid to say it anymore. But if I have to choose between this lifestyle and my child. I'll choose my baby and I'll go as far away from you as I can to get them away from this because I don't think when the time comes, you'll want to stop."

Fitz felt his temper rise at her threat and stood from the couch.

"You're not the only one who wants our kid and you're not the only one who wants to be a decent fucking parent to it. I told you I was gonna stop so if you don't want to believe that then it's your fucking problem." He stepped off and stopped then turned around, "and since you're shaken up from tonight, I'm just gonna pretend you didn't threaten me about taking my kid away from me."

He walked to the bathroom, only to hear Olivia's phone ring. He took a breath and tried to calm down then he walked back into the bedroom in time to see her wipe her eyes and take a breath then answer the phone.

"Hey, mom." She tried to sound cheerful but Maya picked up on her faux persona immediately.

"No, no, I'm fine… um...it's just...are you gonna be alright by yourself tonight...I don't think I can come over."

Fitz watched as she nodded while Maya spoke through the phone. He couldn't hear.

"Okay, call if you feel funny. I'll come over really early in the morning to help you choke down those pills," Olivia said with a fake chuckle. Maya said something else. "No, I'm sure mom, I'm fine, I'll see you in the morning. Yeah...okay...love you..bye."

Olivia hung up and stood from the couch. When she turned she saw Fitz. He walked to her slowly and pulled her into his chest and wrapped his arms tightly around her as he kissed her forehead.

"I'm sorry. I've been taking out my anger at myself on you. You had a gun pointed at you tonight and I'm sorry that happened and I'll do everything to make sure it doesn't happen again."

Olivia nodded and hugged her arms around his torso tightly.

Fitz chuckled at her reaction.

"Did I finally say the right thing?" he asked.

Olivia chuckled and nodded, with fresh wet eyes.

Fitz pulled her up by the chin and kissed her lips then traced kissed up her jawline to her ear.

"I love you too," he whispered.

"What?"

"Oh god, don't make me say it again," he complained.

She laughed, "I won't, I won't," she said, reached up and kissed him. Fitz lifted her around his waist and walked her to their bed and plopped them both down.

Olivia giggled and grinned as he leaned up and unbuttoned her jeans and pulled them off the slipped off her sweater. She watched as he became distracted by a thought then he leaned up.

"What?" she asked.

"Are you okay?"

She was confused by his question then she understood, "to have sex after what happened?" she said then answered her own question, "I'm fine."

Fitz smiled then turned her around on her belly in a swift motion. Olivia knew when he did that it meant one of two things: he was going to lick her asshole or he was going to fuck her from behind. The prospect of either of them excited her as she propped herself up by the elbows. She shifted her onto knees so she was on all fours and then he pulled down her pink, mesh panties to her knees and opened her ass, and ran his tongue over her asshole.

Olivia bit her lips and smiled, everything that weighed on her shoulders earlier in the night disappeared. She was light as a feather now, with no care in the world.

She felt his tongue again flicking against her ass like a feather and she stuffed her face in the sheets as she curled her toes. She rocked her hips back and felt him pull her legs apart wider and continued.

She felt her ass throbbing instantly and wiggled away from him as she orgasmed. Fitz leaned up and laughed.

Olivia turned on her back with her legs squeezed shut as her tickling orgasm passed. Her lips were pressed together tightly and her eyes were shut.

When she opened them Fitz was removing his shirt.

"I want to try...anal," Olivia said.

"What?" he asked with a chuckle.

"I want it," Olivia said again as she leaned up and climbed on top of him. "Now," she said, then leaned down and kissed him. She felt his penis erect under his pants and reached down and undid the buckle of his pants then she pulled them off as he eased up to help her.

"You can't have it now."

"Why not?"

"By the time room service brings lube you'd have been fucked already and probably sleeping."

Olivia pouted, "I'm serious- that's what I want. Give me what I want."

He smiled, "fine." Fitz leaned up and reached for the hotel phone and called room service.

She scooted down further down on the bed between his legs

"Hello...I'd like a bottle of personal lubricant brought up to my room along with a three-course dinner of the chef's choosing for two and a couple of bottles of beer."

Fitz hung up and turned to Olivia. She took his penis in her hands, massaging him slowly then she pressed her mouth on his tip.

Fitz leaned back and smiled and ran his hands through her hair. He watched her take him deeper and deeper.

"Holy shit," he said with a chuckle then bit his lips and closed his eyes.

She sucked hard as she bobbed her head up and down on him. She felt him stiffen and push her away frantically as he orgasmed. His hips thrust up and immediately she felt something warm shot into one eye then the other. It burned.

"Owww-you came in my eye," she groaned as she closed her eyes tight. "It's burning."

Fitz reached for her quickly but was unable to stop the cum that still squirted from his penis as his orgasm waned.

"Oh shit," he said when he realized what happened.

"I can't see," Olivia said frantically as she wiped his cum from her eyes, "Fitz…"

He took a breath before he could move to throw her over his shoulder and walk to the bathroom. He was still breathing heavily from his interrupted but intense orgasm.

He walked her into the shower and turned on the showerhead. Olivia's hands were covering her eyes. He moved them gently and let the warm water run down her face as he pressed his thumbs gently against her eyes, wiping away the creamy white slime.

She finally opened her eyes to let the water clean her eyes. The burning subsided but her eyes were red.

Fitz folded his lips, trying not to laugh. When Olivia looked up she noticed and punched his arm lightly.

"It's not funny."

He leaned over and kissed her lips as he pressed her against the wall. "Who told you to give me such good head?" he said, laughing.

Olivia wrapped her arms around his waist to feel his abs against her torso.

"Mmmm," Fitz groaned against her lips as he kissed her again, "you are so fucking sexy."

He slid his tongue further into her mouth and pressed his hands against her throat. Olivia was on the tips of her toes but even then, the difference in their height was too great. Fitz sensed this and lifted her and wrapped her legs around him as they kissed hungrily.

"I want you," Olivia whimpered, breaking the kiss to draw in a breath.

Fitz reached between them and positioned his semi-erect penis at her opening then slowly thrust his hips towards her, pushing himself inside her wet, warm, hole.

"FUCK," he groaned as he pulled out, not longer semi-erect but fully erect then entered her again.

Olivia gasped, choking on the air she pulled in. Two days without him left her readjusting to his girth. She pulled his face in and kissed him and immediately she felt him increase the speed of his thrusts.

"Fitz-" she shrieked in his mouth in between kisses but barely got to finish her thought before he took her mouth again, stifling her sounds. She wrapped her fingers in his wet hair and she curled her back against the wall.

It was dizzying. No matter how wet she was, the friction when he was inside her was always perfect. She closed her eyes and enjoyed her dizzying fuck. When she orgasmed, it left her clinging to him, the same way his orgasm left him clutching to her.

They finished their shower and when they returned to the bedroom. Olivia dressed in a robe with nothing underneath and Fitz did the same.

He plopped down in the bed, spent.

Olivia crawled beside her and ran her hands through his wet hair once again.

"You said you loved me," she said with a smile.

"You said it too so let's not make a big deal about it," Fitz teased.

"You know...I didn't really expect you to say it back...I mean...you didn't have to."

"I didn't think you did, considering the fact that you said it as a prelude to threatening me."

Olivia covered her face, embarrassed.

"I'm really sorry I said that."

"Well, I certainly didn't enjoy it but I mean...I get it. Generally speaking, if you feel like you have to protect your child then you should do everything to make that happen but I just hate that you think you have to protect ours from me."

"I didn't say you...I said your lifestyle."

"Yeah but really me. I mean..the premise was that I'd know my lifestyle was getting in the way and choose money over the safety of my kid."

Olivia swallowed hard. "You're right and it's not like that so I'm really, really sorry I said it."

Fitz leaned over and kissed her. "I'm glad you said it. Now I have something I can hold over your head."

Olivia laughed, "happy I could help." she stopped and leaned up, "I really missed you."

"I missed you too," Fitz returned, then he reached over and caressed her stomach. "What size is our baby now?"

Olivia smiled, "I'd say the size of a blueberry."

Fitz smiled, "we're getting there."

Olivia nodded, "slowly but surely."

"How's your mom?"

"It's been a great couple of days," Olivia answered.

"What about the apartment?"

"It looks great...but it won't be ready until Sunday."

"Didn't she say it would be ready in the morning?"

"Yeah but now it's not," Olivia said with a chuckle, "it's okay." Olivia paused as she remembered. "Jason is in the hospital?"

"Who's that?"

"The paramedic," Olivia answered.

"Oh him."

"Did you put him there?"

Fitz sighed, "now baby, you know I can't answer that."

Olivia nodded.

"But if what Jake did tonight gives you any idea of what a man with a bruised ego is capable of then I think it's good he's in there. He can focus on healing and figuring out how to walk and talk again instead of what you said to him at a Christmas party years ago."

There was a knock on the door before Olivia could respond.

"Room service," the hotel staff announced.

"Come in," Fitz said.

The door opened moments later and a man walked in with a cart.

"Good night," he said, "can I place your dinner by the table?"

Fitz nodded and watched the man place the food and other items from the cart to the table then she stood and faced Fitz.

He reached into the nightstand and noticed Olivia hadn't touched the money he gave her two days earlier. He sighed and pulled a $100 bill from the stack and held it out to him. The man took it and noticed the amount.

"Should I bring back change?" he asked.

"Keep it, it's fine," Fitz said then he leaned up. Olivia leaned up with him.

"Thank you so much," he said excitedly then hurried out.

They both walked to the table. Under the dome covered plates, was seared lamb ribs and roasted vegetables. Fitz was quick to eat, as was Olivia.

"You didn't use any of the money?" he said after he'd eaten a few bites of food.

"I didn't use the cash...but I used the card you got me to buy food for the staff I interviewed this morning."

He smiled, "that's it."

"I didn't really do anything else. I ate here last night with Abby, which I told you. We ordered room service. I also went to Old Navy with my mom to get her some clothes but I used my card."

He chuckled and continued eating, "that's alright."

"By the way, if it wasn't clear, anal is totally out of the picture. I don't know what I was thinking. I may have enjoyed you licking my ass a little too much and got carried away."

He laughed with a mouth full of food. "I figured but your pussy has satisfied me wholly so I have no complaints."

"Good," Olivia said with a smile.

They ate for a while longer before Olivia spoke again.

"What do you think Jake was going to do to me tonight."

Fitz was quiet for a moment before answering as if it was editing information before giving it to her. "He would've taken you, probably so I would have to come to him. He probably would have told me I would need his help getting rid of Marco and your father."

'You think that's why he did it?" Olivia asked, "He didn't really want to hurt you."

"I can't say that. I think he wanted to contrive a situation where I would need him so badly that I would have to get over what he did."

"That's kind of smart…" Olivia said.

"He is smart, just not as smart as he thinks."

Olivia sighed, "I feel myself changing...not completely but in ways I've noticed...ways that I wouldn't have if you hadn't come into my life."

"Is that a good or bad thing?" he asked.

"I'm not sure."
