Chapter 5 Esme
Clove's POV
Cato and I are takin to are stylists. I'm glad that our mentors aren't allowed to go in with us so Enobaria can't take me straight to the hospital. I plan on begging my stylist to help me protect baby. If that doesn't work I'll tell Cato that some random guy knocked me up and Enobaria wants to kill my child, he'll protect me I know it, he's like my big brother we've known each other seance we were young.
As we sit and wait for are stylists to come in Cato starts humming "here comes the sun" by the betels. instinctively I place my hand on my stomach remembering my baby's first heartbeat I smile thinking about the life that's growing inside me.
The door opens and are stylists come in I quickly remove my hand from my stomach. "Hello, and welcome to the capital" says the girl with green heir "I'm Ava and this is Esme" she points with her head towards the girl with dark black heir and green eyes. "I'll be Cloves stylist and Ava will be Catos". She says I sigh in relief Esme seems nice and parental so I'd have no problem convincing her to help me.
Ava takes Cato to another room and me and Esme stay in this one. Ava asks me to take off the towel that I'm wearing I get started for a second because if I take off the towel my baby bump will be visible I take a deep breathe and take off my towel Esme screams in horror and shock. Ava quickly comes so I put my towel back on "what happened?, what did she do to you?" She asks Esme "nothing, I almost broke something" replies Esme. Ava looks like she doesn't believe her sister but she needs to go back to Cato so she leaves.
Esme looks speechless so I decide to help her "yes, I'm pregnant you can't tell anyone. Okay?" She looks terrified "why did you volunteer?" She asks still not trusting me "I had to, if I wouldn't my sister would get kicked out" I tell her the truth all of it. how I got pregnant, who is the father, why I volunteered and what Enobaria whence to do with my baby. She agrees to help telling me that she wanted children but had to give up on her dreams because her husband doesn't want kids.
Esme helps me get dressed adjusting my costume so my baby bump won't be visible. Cato and I are both waring gold armors. Ava and Esme lead us to the chariot of district 2. I can see Brutus and Enobaria walking towards us I panic Esme can see my reaction and stands in front of me pretending that she needs to fix something in my costume "it's okay, I'm
not going to let her hurt you" she whispers to me Enobaria smiles are says "perfection, both of you" Cato looks at her in disgust I look at her in fear "well after the parade Clove and I are going to a girls night out" she says with a fake smile. "Actually me and Clove have plans for tonight" says Cato who can sense that I'm stressed "plans?" Asks Enobaria "tributes aren't aloud to leave without someone of the staff to escort them" she says "i'm going with them" Esme says calmly "district 2 is up" says Brutus "good luck" says Ava.
Cato and I watch the other tributes and everything goes normal. Than district 12 comes and al the sponsors fall in love with their costumes. District 12! District 12 tock the attention off me and Cato! In the arena I will make sure that they will pay. District 12 compared to district 2 is like comparing gold to a raw apple the sponsors may love them know but they will still be killed first in the arena.
A/N: I tried to bring out more off Clove's brutal side because I've only made her soft and sweet and I know that there is way more to her than that. I hope you liked the chapter
