Krystal and Sabre were running to one of the Venimian shuttles as they were forced to leave their people behind while they were massacred. As soon as they were close to the shuttle, Sabre tripped and fell. Krystal turned in terror. "Sabre!"
Sabre wearily got up. "Go on without me!"
"I won't! I won't leave you to die!"
"Just do it!" Sabre tossed his staff to Krystal. He shouted, "I'll hold these scum off! You just take my staff and go!"
Krystal caught it and cried in protest, "But you'll die!"
"Don't argue with me! Just go!"
"But..!"
"GO!"
Krystal reluctantly dashed onto the shuttle and closed the ship and took off without hesitation. As the ship rose into the atmosphere, tears flowed from her eyes as the ship took off from Cerinia's surface, dreading the notion that Sabre, her brother who stood by her side since the day she was born, would be mercilessly gunned down like their parents before him. The ship rose up into the atmosphere, with Krystal looking out the window as the surface of the now crumbling planet drew further and further away from her faster than she could react. Tears formed in her eyes as she knew that if the Venomian soldiers didn't kill Sabre, the disappearance of the planet's surface will. It tore away at her heart knowing that everything she knew and loved on Cerinia was taken from her in an instant. But a cold feeling arose in her. She saw the remains of her planet and saw a leering, half-seen face, gloating over the debris field that the only world she had known had become.. She stared in terror. Sweat was drenched across her body. She heard the entity laughing, sending a chill down her spine. She was paralyzed in terror. Then she found herself strapped to a testing table in a laboratory, and a device with a large, thin needle was hanging above her eye and was lowering towards her. She kept shouting "No! No!" as the needle got closer and closer to her eye. The closer the needle got to her eye, the more loudly she shrieked in terror.
Krystal woke up from her dream gasping and panicking, her heart was racing and she was sweating as she was breathing heavily. Fox wearily woke up, all groggy and worn out. "Ugh… What is it, Krystal? Are you okay?"
Krystal took a deep breath and calmed herself for a moment. "I'm fine, Fox. I was just having a nightmare. In fact, until the moment we met, I've been having that nightmare ever since I escaped from Cerinia."
"What happened?"
"I keep flashing back to the night I escaped Cerinia and the slaughtering of my people. Sabre and I were fleeing the massacre and he sacrificed himself to hold the Venom soldiers off while I fled to the shuttle. As the shuttle takes off and the planet crumbles, an evil entity rose from the core, and laughs evilly, and I could feel its intent to kill me. Ever since we first met, I stopped having those nightmares, but after hearing what happened to Sabre and the other Cerinians that were kept alive and experimented upon, they came back."
"Do you think it's because of the Venomian base we discovered yesterday?"
"It could be. But there was one part of my nightmare that wasn't present until tonight. After the evil presence rose from the core of the now crumbled Cerinia, I found myself strapped to a lab table with a needle slowly preparing to stab me in the eye. I can't help but fear that my people went through that."
"We saved your brother, Krystal. And I made sure that the Cornerian army would rescue your people. Their suffering will end."
"Thank you, Fox, but I'm worried about Elysia. If she does have that device implanted into her, then I wouldn't be able to sense her. That could put her in severe danger. If I were able to detect her presence, I could come to her aid immediately."
"We will rescue her. One way or another. I'll make sure of it. That is a promise."
"A promise."
"Krystal, remember when I said that I think that you're one of the strongest people I've ever met?"
"Yes, I do."
"Well, now I'm starting to think that you're the strongest. Merely a fraction of everything you've been through would have broken pretty much anyone else in an instant. But you kept going. You let nothing break you. That one incident you told me about back when we were in Cloudrunner prison would have turned you against everything you have always stood for but it didn't. You never lost sight of your beliefs and philosophies. You persevered. The amount of willpower you have is unfathomable."
"Why thank you, Fox. I never thought of you as a flatterer."
"I'm not saying this just to flatter you. I really think that. I don't know how long you have had that burden, but having the willpower to do so is an astounding feat. You really are a true warrior. You should be proud of that." He embraced the young warrior princess.
Krystal returned the embrace. "Thank you, Fox. I am quite glad to have you at my side. I couldn't be more grateful that I met you."
"You're welcome, Krystal. Now let's get some rest. We're gonna head off to Cape Claw tomorrow." The vulpine duo continue their sleep. Knowing that Fox was now there to help her through her nightmares, Krystal rested easy.
The next morning, Fox and Krystal woke up from their sleep, as did Tricky, and Fox activated his Arwing to get to Cape Claw. Fox told Krystal and Tricky, "Okay, guys. I decided that it would be quicker and easier to get to Cape Claw in the Arwing so it'll be an easier ride than our usual trips in the Arwing. Okay?"
Krystal and Tricky agreed to it. Fox and Krystal hopped into the cockpit with Fox in the pilot seat and Krystal behind the seat. Fox also opened the bomb hatch and Tricky crawled inside it. After Tricky went inside, Fox got the Arwing to lift off and it headed in the direction that the group headed when they went to Cape Claw on foot. It took the group a few seconds, but they made it to Cape Claw.
After the Arwing landed in the beachside sands, the cockpit and bomb hatch opened, and Fox, Krystal, and Tricky hopped out of the Arwing. They walked right up to the wooden catwalks near the temple. Krystal said to Fox, "You know, Fox, the Venom drones you battled on the way to Sauria made me think that there was some connection between the destruction of my homeworld and the events that are destroying this planet. But that Venomian base we found yesterday pretty much confirms it. We can no longer have any doubt."
"But how does General Scales fit into all of this?" asked Fox, "Did they somehow convince him to remove the SpellStones, or did they simply notice that he did and start taking advantage of that?"
"Either way, it is obvious that the Venomians are doing this so they could finish what they started on Cerinia. We can worry about the minor details later. For now, we have to return the SpellStones and release the Krazoa spirits or this world will fall apart like Cerinia did."
"Good idea."
As the trio approached the temple via the catwalks, they climbed up to the highest catwalk, and found a door leading to a secret passage into the temple, blocked by a security system designed specifically to allow SharpClaw soldiers to access what was behind the door. Fox switched you activating his SharpClaw disguise, then put his hand on a handprint recognition device that was specifically designed to respond to the handprint of a SharpClaw. After the door opened, the Earthwalker prince and the vulpine duo walked through it and walked through a hallway that led to a room with doors, switches, and pillars, but was mostly submerged, with the tallest pillar becoming a platform, and the platform had a large button the size of a manhole on top of it. Fox turned off his SharpClaw disguise and he and Krystal swam to the platform with the large button on the top of the pillar and climbed to the platform and stood on the large button on the middle of the pillar. Standing on the large button caused another pillar to rise until the top of the pillar became another platform to stand on above the surface of the water, to get to a ledge where a switch could be activated.
Fox turned to Krystal and was just about to speak, but after what he saw, he quickly blushed and turned away. Krystal's soaking wet body was a very erotic sight for him. The way her loincloth stuck to her body seemed tantalizing and alluring to him, but that just made Fox feel dirty for looking at Krystal in that way. Krystal giggled. She thought Fox was so cute when he struggled not to be a lecherous creep. She would have loved to ask him to ogle her, but she felt it would disturb him. She also would have loved to make a joke about being "wet for him," but felt that it would also creep him out, so she refrained from doing that too. Fox stammered, "Mind if I activate that switch over there? I think you're needed to stay on that platform..."
"Very well." Krystal sat on the large button she was standing on top of as Fox swam over to the elevated platform and climbed to it. Then he jumped to a nearby ledge where there was a hole where he could put the tail end of his staff into. He took out his staff and used it to activate the switch. A sound of rushing water came to a stop. Fox was puzzled at what that was supposed to do. Then he heard Krystal calling his name, "Follow me!" He saw Krystal swim out of the cave and followed her.
As soon as they were both on the ledge near the cave entrance, Fox asked, "So, you found out what that switch did?" all the while blushing vividly and even nosebleeding at the sight of a soaking wet Krystal. He was able to see right through her loincloth and that made him feel embarrassed but also somewhat lustful. Krystal giggled for a moment, then said, "Yes I did. Follow me." Krystal would have loved to invite Fox to watch her wiggle her butt again, especially now that she was soaking wet, but instead, she dashed off and Fox and Tricky followed her.
They dashed out of the tunnel and back to the catwalks, then the stone walkways in front of the temple, and along the stone walkway in front of the temple. As the edge of the walkway, Krystal stopped and pointed at the entrance to a nearby cave. "I think we just opened the way to that cave. Follow me!" Krystal dove into the river below, and then Fox followed suit. Fox and Krystal swam into the cave, admiring the beautiful interior and how the lights from the on the walls were reflected in the water. Then, they got to a ledge, got to it, and slid down the wall of the cliff to the floor below.
As soon as they were on land again, Fox kept struggling to not stare at Krystal too pervertedly, even though she gleefully invited him to fondle her last night. Of course, Fox knew that Krystal had no objection whatsoever to him ogling her, but wasn't sure that he felt the same way. They headed to the next room with sets of pillars on each side, and at the very end of the room, a Krazoa statue on the wall, with a small flame in front of it. They went to the end of the room and Fox used his Ice Blast to extinguish the flame in front of the statue. After the flame was put out, Fox spotted a jewel in the statue's mouth. Fox picked it up, stepped away from the statue in case the fire would come back again, and asked Krystal, "What do you think this does?"
But then, all of a sudden, Fox's feet felt wet. He looked down and saw that there was a foot of water that the room was submerged in. The water levels started rising and filling the room to a height were the water was at the level to reach a stone door that just opened. Fox and Krystal swam to the door, and walked through the opening that led to the stone walkway in front of the temple. When they were back outside, Krystal said, "I think the water came from the other room. Follow me!" The trio dashed their way back to the wooden catwalks and back into the room they were in before.
They returned to the upper room, and all the water in it was gone. Fox and Krystal slid down the wall and found two Krazoa statues just like the one before. Fox took the gem he got from the statue down below and put it into the mouth of one of the statues. Then it seemed as if warm sunlight was shining down on the statue. "Okay, Krystal, what now?"
Krystal then used her staff to activate a nearby switch near the exit and that caused the nearby pillar to lower all the way down so that the top of the pillar became more or less part of the floor. Fox looked up and saw that an opening was blocked off by what appears to be brambles. He had an idea. He turned to Prince Tricky, saying, "Tricky, I need you to stand on that platform."
"Okay." Tricky stood on the platform and then Krystal activated the switch to raise the platform again. Then Tricky burned the brambles with his flame breath and the brambles were reduced to ash, then Krystal lowered the platform by activating the switch yet again. Then the trio looked at the mechanisms to open the door. They saw that there were two statues on each side of the door and saw that only one of them had a round orange gem in it, and knew that they needed another one. Fox asked Krystal, "Krystal, do you think we can find a way to find another jewel just like that one?" as he pointed to the jewel that was in one of the Krazoa statues.
Krystal replied, "I'm sorry, but I don't think I am able to detect inanimate objects. We'll have to…" But then she found something. She concentrated on it harder and discovered what it was. "There's someone fighting a group of SharpClaws on the nearby beach. He's trying to protect something he took from them… I think it's the jem we need so we could… Oh no!"
"What is it, Krystal?"
"The person is a LightFoot!" She snapped out of her telepathy. "Somehow I don't think we should get involved. I don't want to run the risk of crossing the LightFoot tribe."
"But we can't get into the Ocean Force Point Temple without that jewel. I'm afraid we'll have to take that risk."
"As much as I dread this, you're right. Let's go."
Fox and Krystal then dashed out the cavernous entrance and back outside. Fox said, "Let's just pray that the LightFoot become grateful for saving one of their own."
A small Ornitholestes dinosaur wielding a spear was attempting to hold off two SharpClaw soldiers while carrying a round, orange jewel in one hand. One of the SharpClaw leered at the Ornitholestes and growled, "Nobody steals from us, LightFoot scum!" The SharpClaw then took a swing at the LightFoot, but the LightFoot dodged the attack and attempted to thrust his spear at one of the SharpClaw, but having to hold the jewel disrupted his balance, causing the attack to miss. The SharpClaw smacked the LightFoot across the face with his club, knocking him to the ground, then said, "Looks like we'll have to teach you a lesson…"
But then the SharpClaw was smacked across the jaw and was knocked to the ground. He turned and saw who attacked him. Fox McCloud charged at the SharpClaw and kept attacking while Krystal charged at the second SharpClaw before he could back up his partner. She kept assaulting the second SharpClaw so viciously and in such rapid succession, he was completely unable to fight back, and by the time she ceased attacking him, he was already dead. She rammed the head end of her staff into his head so hard that he was knocked to the ground, dead as a doornail, as did Fox with the SharpClaw he was battling. Fox then turned to the LightFoot and asked, "You okay?"
The LightFoot pointed his spear threateningly at Fox, saying, "Hey! You stay away, you stinking furball! Or I'll smash you good!"
Fox felt offended by the LightFoot's lack of gratitude. "What's the big idea!? We just saved you!"
The LightFoot dropped his spear and picked up the orange jewel he dropped earlier. "I trust no-one! The SharpClaw keep saying I've been stealing their things! But they're a bunch of stinking liars!"
Krystal cut-in. "The SharpClaw are the enemies of all tribes of Sauria. Don't lump us together with the likes..." But then, she briefly noticed something suspicious across the water in front of the cliffside on the other side of the beach. She saw a machine rotating towards them. It looked like a cannon… "Get down!"
Fox, Krystal, and the LightFoot jumped out of the way of the cannon's trajectory and when the LightFoot jumped, he accidentally fumbled over, but was out of the blast radius so he wasn't hurt by it. He got back up again and picked up the jewel, but it kept slipping out of his hands and he struggled to keep it steady. Fox and Krystal readied their staffs, preparing for a fight. When the LightFoot finally got a steady grip on the jewel, he tossed it to Fox and he caught it. The SharpClaw cannon then turned to Fox. Fox noticed the cannon in his direction, then tossed the jewel back to the LightFoot. But the LightFoot shouted, "I'm getting out of this place! Adios!" He tossed it back to Fox and dashed to the waters and quickly swam away. Fox signaled to Krystal that they should make a break for it, and they dashed along the nearby wooden catwalk, evading another cannonball. Fox then quickly put the orange jewel into his backpack, and then he and Krystal dove into the water, and swam all the way back to the entrance of the temple as fast as they could. By the time they reached the water, however, they were well outside the cannon's range and whenever a cannonball splashed into the water, the explosion was drastically weakened.
When the vulpine duo reached the temple entrance and got back inside, Fox was too furious at the LightFoot warrior from earlier to even pay attention to the eroticness of a scantily-clad female warrior like Krystal having a soaking wet body. "Can you believe that idiot!? We save his life and he thanks us by having us be targeted by a SharpClaw cannon? I know you told me earlier that the LightFoot tribe were a bunch of jerks, but would it have killed him to show even the slightest bit of gratitude!?"
"The LightFoot are very distrustful of the other tribes of Sauria, which is why they isolate themselves from the rest of this world. Not even the EarthWalkers and the CloudRunners have been given their respect. Still, ever since General Scales has started operating his vile crusades, the LightFoot have been more on edge than usual."
"But still, we saved his sorry butt and he thanks us by putting targets on our backs!? It makes me want to punch him in the face!"
"If you did that, the LightFoot would be pursuing us to no end. And we'd be starting an unwanted fight with them. At least we got that Fire Gem we needed to get into the temple. So, cheer up, Fox." She gave Fox a flirtatious smile and lightly stroked his chin.
Fox's rage lessened to a few degrees and took the orange jewel out of his backpack. "You're right. At least we got something good out of this whole debacle." He put the jewel into the open and empty mouth of the other Krazoa statue and the door between the two statues opened up. The Ocean Force Point Temple was opened.
"Something good indeed," replied Krystal in her usual flirty way. Fox took a good look at her body and the erotic sight of it in its soaking wet glory, while she made a sensual pose, but to a mild degree. She would have loved to pose in a racier fashion but that would scare Fox off in her opinion. Fox took in a bit of arousal from Krystal's sexy body, but then Krystal stopped posing, and then they proceeded into the Temple, with Prince Tricky following behind them just a bit later.
