AN: So I just want to say sorry right now. Why? Well some stuff happened which stressed me out for a bit on what I should do about my story, which caused me to change some things in chapter 1 (go back and check if you haven't already read it before the change). I also had four assignments dropped on me to so yea... stress. I also may have been procastinating... and playing Genshin Impact... reading manga & fanfictions... But what can I say? I'm a gamer!

Some random guy: "That doesn't work here"

Oh god and the ideas... the ideas for other future fanfics are hurting my brain so much.

Brain: psst. Hey maybe you should make one wher-

Me: Noooooo! Please just stop!

*Insert crying noise*

I've also made this chapter 1k words shorter than usual as I want to get something done but at the same time I don't want this chapter to be halfassed so yea. And sorry if the amount of time skips here bother you but I can't promise that this won't happen again.

My friend, Neo-Badonis or otherwise known by his author name Lord Chad Thundercock (You may have seen him in the reviews) has uploaded his first fanfiction! Go read it, it's called Blood Bound Night, you may like it if you're a fan of Bloodborne and fate.

Anyways that's all I have to say for now. Let's get on with the Fic.

Dream Cycle: The boy with two bodies

Location: Hunter's Dream

His eyes opened slowly gaining consciousness. He twisted his head around to scan his surroundings taking in every detail of his location. A sea of mist blocked off by a metal fence, a tree stump with the same liquid that a fountain messenger would come from and a large amount of flora surrounding him as he laid on the stacked layers of cloth that was called a bed.

'Still in the dream' he confirmed.

He stood up from the bed, still garbed in his hunter attire and headed towards the workshop. Opening the coffin-sized storage box, he picked up his discarded saw cleaver and blunderbuss and exited the workshop through the front door but was treated to an unusual scene. The doll was sitting at the base of the stairs with its head low and if he listened carefully, he would hear the faint sound of breathing.

'That's, weird' he thought studying the doll.

He went near the Yharnam headstone ignoring what he just saw, not that he would know anything about it anyways. He crouched low and reached out to the messengers in the headstone, his eyes slowly shutting.

"Central… Yharnam" he whispers in a slightly distorted voice.

And the messengers abided.

Location: Central Yharnam

A lamp stood alone outside of what appears to be a house with a gate to its left and a pathway to its right. There was a window, a yellow light coming from it and a red lantern hanging next to it, a wispy smoke being secreted from the lantern.

The concrete floor beneath the lamp begin to waver like sand and a white aura starts to manifest around it, a dark shadow begins fading into existence before it finally became corporeal. Jaune stood up from his crouched position and walked towards the window with the lantern.

An umbral humanoid figure could be seen leaning close to the window, its form slightly hunched.

"Gilbert" Jaune greeted.

"Ah, it's you *cough* *cough* the outsider" the figure – Gilbert – greeted back.

"The great bridge" Jaune stated.

"What about it?" Gilbert asked, voice hoarse.

"It's closed – shut – and the door by gate won't even open" he answered.

"Yes, I see... But the great bridge is the only way to the Cathedral Ward. And during the hunt, the bridge is closed... Hmm..." he says now lost in thought.

Jaune's fingers around the saw cleaver tightened and his eyes hardened, his hands shaking.

"You could try the aqueduct?" Gilbert finally spoke noticing his anger.

"The sewers?" he asked, the temper now fading.

"There is a rather… how should I put it? Colourful area south of the great bridge. From there, an aqueduct leads to the Cathedral ward." He explained.

"I see" Jaune nodded.

"*cough* Not a place you'd normally visit but… I don't imagine you have a choice. Do you?"

Guess not as Jaune shook his head and sighed.

"Back to the sewers… great" he told himself.

"Now, now I'm sure it's not that bad. Besides, you've survived even now how hard could it be?" Gilbert chuckled.

"I should go then. See you around" he said waving his hand as he walks through the gate.

Gilbert and his hunched form waves back.

Jaune now finding a renewed path to his goals, backstabs the huntsman watching from the balcony and was about to head towards the building in which Eileen resides in but pauses before he could go through the wine house and looks to the stairs to his left.

"I could use that lift that I activated before" he says now recalling about the elevator.

But two giants were criss-crossing the path to the elevator, one of them wearing a tattered and ruined navy cloak with a brick in hand and the other wearing also tattered and ruined suit and with a brick in hand.

Jaune clicked his tongue in annoyance. One giant he could take but two would cause problems, not to mention it would wastes his blood vials and bullets. So, he did the only thing he could do ever since he arrived in Yharnam, the one thing that has saved him since his first deaths. Run. And run he did. The brick giants noticing his presence attempted to hit him, one even shoulder charged him. But as swift as the wind and flexible as snake the attacks made by the giants missed him by an inch. He jumped down the small steps and rolled keeping his momentum but stumbled as a loud bump was heard behind him and he fell on his knees.

Jaune looked behind him to find the other giant, the navy cloaked one attempting to emulate the other and charged at him, it quite literally missed him by a hair. Giving out an unsatisfied grunt, the cloaked giant attempted to push itself through the human-sized entrance.

"Shit!" Jaune yelped.

He backed away from the entrance in which the brick giant was forcing its way through and rushed into the elevator. The gate closed and the elevator descended.

"That… was more intense than I expected" he panted out, not from exhaustion but instead shock.

The gate opened once more to reveal a small room and an open area. Jaune exited the lift and walked out of the room and into the area. To his left was a bridge and to his right was the aqueduct that Gilbert had talked about, except it was over the ledge.

"Ugh… I hate this place" he agonized, gulping down his disgust.

And so, he descended.

Jaune slowly marched through the gateway which leads to a large wide-open area. There gravestones scattered about and very few plants could be seen except for the leafless dead trees. The scent of foul blood hit him and looked towards its source. There was a man in a weird outfit, and he held what appeared to be a pistol and a short and weird looking halberd that was covered in bandages. The man raised the short halberd and-

*squelch*

Jaune's body tensed and his eyes hardened. Again, the same sound was heard as the man dropped the halberd unto the now lifeless body of his prey.

'Wait a minute…' he paused.

That's no halberd the man was holding… that's an axe. Where has he seen it before? And suddenly realization dawned upon him.

"Beast all over the shop…. You'll be one of them, sooner or later" the Hunter said.

The hunter turned around to look at Jaune and gave out a sickly distorted snarl.

"You're a-"

He never got to finish his sentence.

Location: Hunter's Dream

His eyes snapped open and he arose quickly from the cold hard stone path beneath him. His breathing was heavy and his was sweating all over from his body. He scanned the area which he was in and his breathing slowed to a steady pace.

'Fast' That was his first thought. 'If the church has hunters then why aren't they sent out to exterminate him?' he pondered.

Jaune clicked his tongue in annoyance and instead walked back towards the Yharnam headstone. He reached down once again to the messengers.

It doesn't matter now. If that man was going to get in his way, then it'll be his fault for going blood drunk. After all, whatever kills him only makes him stronger.

Or so he thought.

~~AMONGST US~~

He dodged a right swipe from the incoming axe and countered with an attack of his own and dodged left when Gascoigne tried to hit back. When he tried to go in for another hit, the hunter suddenly whipped his customised hunter's pistol, a scattergun as Gilbert calls it and fired inches before the attack reached. Jaune was stunned for a moment, enough for him to charge in and deal multiple blows to him. He felt enraged like he had never before, and he hit back surprising Gascoigne himself. The hunter unlike Jaune, tanked all his hits and returned his rush attack with an uppercut. Jaune evaded, being killed by it once before and broke off from the fight and sprinted for the stairs.

Once he's gotten the high ground, he injected himself with a blood vial. The axe hunter tricked his axe into its halberd form and bolted for Jaune.

'This is new' he warned himself.

He didn't expect the hunter to leap up the stairs and smash his axe down on him. Blood spilled out of his mouth as the hunter dragged his body along with the axe stuck in his back, towards him. He raised his blunderbuss and fired off multiple random shots.

"Tch" the hunter grunted and backed off.

But sparing no mercy, he rushed back in before Jaune could stand attempting to hit him with one final upper cut. Jaune's instincts was the only thing keeping him alive at this point, and he dodged the killing blow, and instead of healing himself with a blood vial, he instead unleashed a flurry of blows at the hunter. Blood scattered all over the place and even on Jaune himself. But he felt rejuvenated by it, the feeling of the blood of his foe washing across his body felt as though it was the same as the blood that he has used to heal himself with.

Gascoigne snarled at him and whipped out his scattergun once again. Jaune noticing this sidestepped as the gun fired its multiple projectiles and was about to go in for another rush attack as the hunter reloaded his firearm. But unlike before, Gascoigne didn't put away his small arm and instead fired again stunning Jaune for a second time.

That cost him.

~~AMONGST US~~

He slammed his fist on the stone path and screamed.

"FUCK!"

He flopped his back down onto the stone path once again and laid there for a few seconds, regaining his composure.

"That's the sixth one…" he sighed "No wonder Gilbert said be careful, that guy was nuts"

From what he had learned from Gilbert. The hunter he met was named Father Gascoigne. He was an outsider like both Gilbert and him as apparently the title "Father" was something the healing church had never used. He was also experienced, incredibly so.

He flipped himself back up from the floor and gripped his armaments tightly, his eyes hardening.

"Almost… I'm so close" he reassured himself "One more time… one more time and I can beat him!" he growled determinedly yet with so much venom.

He stood up albeit sluggishly and was about to walk towards the Yharnam headstone for a seventh time but instead he found losing balance as he stumbled. Two hands reached out and latched onto his shoulders, holding him firmly and preventing him from falling.

"Good hunter are you alright?" the doll asked, concerned.

"I-I'm fine" he answered, surprised by her presence.

The doll didn't believe him though.

"You look tired good hunter, you should rest" the doll said as it lets go of his shoulders and grabs his hand to lead him to his bed but was stopped.

"I said I'm fine" he grumbled, snatching his hand back from the doll.

The corners of the doll's lips curved downwards.

"Good hunter, it is my job to take care of you" it said, placing an arm closed to where its heart should be "please let me-"

"I don't need rest" he snapped "And isn't it my job to hunt beast anyways?"

"How will you do that if you if you can barely stand?" it countered.

Jaune recoiled slightly and looked away.

The doll sighed and grabbed one of his hands once more, this time he didn't try to fight against it.

"Good hunter, I know you wish to free yourself from this accursed prison, but you cannot do that if you cannot even take care of yourself" the doll said as its facial features softened.

"I guess… a nap wouldn't hurt" he grumbled.

The doll simply chuckled. The doll leads him towards the base of the stairs, the place she usually sits by and took his arsenal and laid them against the wall to it left.

"Wait but the bed-" he was hushed by the doll as it sits down and drags him down to do the same.

"Just a nap no?" it chuckled.

He grumbled but complied and leaned himself against it.

'Just a nap…' he thought as his eyes slowly shut.

Location: Arc Household, Dom

He opened his eyes as he slowly gained conscience and looked around him.

'And I'm back' he thought.

He propped himself up from his bed but winced in pain. He gripped his chest tightly and let out a loud groaned as pain shot through his entire body and it lasted for a while too. Only did he once relax when nothing happened.

Bullet wounds from the scattergun, chops, strong slices, and uppercuts from the axe. Again, it happened again just like the night before.

He laid against the head-bars of his bed and let out a tired sigh. His body felt drained, like he had been exercising for too long, the same thing happened the night and morning before during his first "dream". If he remembered correctly, his mother said that one's Aura is never infinite and can be shattered.

'Is this what getting your Aura shattered is like?' he pondered.

If so, then that would prove his theory that Aura is what is allowing him to be able "dream". It's being used as fuel. That would even explain why he even feels pain, his mother did say people can protect themselves with Aura but that doesn't mean they can't feel it. But… wouldn't that mean that his soul was being damaged? N-no… that wouldn't make sense, Aura is an energy. Fuel.

But if its fuel then… What about to his body?

You know Jaune. That is a great question, what about your body? Uh-oh guess we gotta wait till the next chapter, what a disaster!

I tried to emulate Chad in his fanfic where he's just setting up the story in the first few chapters which did not bode well for me since I most likely already messed up on that part but I'm just trying to give a reason as to how Jaune is able to go into the world of Yharnam you know?

Oh and to the guy who was disappointed in me using Jaune as a protaganist. I only chose him because he is the easiest character to do. But hey I understand that you may not like it but sometimes you've just got to deal with it you know? And plus I already wrote it so... sorry random reviewer.

Oh btw I may change my name AGAIN to: AciesMors. Sorry if that may annoy you.
