A/N: Yes, it's short. But there aren't enough Heroes stories around here. So here's my contribution to this wonderful show.

Every day, Peter walked to that park.

Every day.

And no matter how many times he climbed up onto those monkey bars or hard he concentrated, he ended up with mouthful after mouthful of sand.

The only audience to his idiocy was that boy.

That boy came to the park every day, just to watch him try.

Every day.

He never told the boy what he was doing, but somehow he knew the child understood.

And no matter how many times Peter failed, that little boy still showed up again.

He wondered when the kid would get sick of seeing him land in the dirt. He wondered when he'd get tired of holding onto the hope that maybe there actually was a real superhero out there.

But he never did. The boy would just stand and stare, watching attempt after attempt, and wishing that he had the courage to climb up there himself.

Whether flight was ever achieved or not didn't matter.

Because Peter was his hero.

End

I'm not quite sure if I like how this turned out (midnight writing produces doubts!). So, tell me what you think, Heroes fans!
