Sasuke's Darkness Part II
"Let go of my arm loser!" Sasuke demanded from Naruto, who prevented Sasuke from piercing through the bandit and Naga by grabbing Sasuke's wrist.
'He stopped the Chidori!' Anko barely sat up as Naruto had let go of her to prevent Sasuke from killing her subordinate. 'With the amount of speed it requires, for blondie to already run past the Uchiha and stop it with just his bare hands….this kid's going to grow up to be a monster.' She then saw him kick Sasuke back, deactivating his Chidori and then he tackled both the bandit and Naga, making Naga release the bandit. 'Okay, scratch that, he's already a monster.'
"Okay! Now you can stab him with that Chidori-thing!" Naruto picked up Anko's second-in-command and yelled at the other bandits. "Better get out of the way, Sasuke's acting a little bloodthirsty!" Naruto moved out of the way as Sasuke ran past him and pierced Naga's torso, electrocuting it and causing it to scream until they stopped, with Sasuke's lightning also ceasing.
"L-Looks like my freedom was short lived. H-However, there will be opponents much stronger than me." Naga told Sasuke, with the youth pulling his arm out of Naga's torso and made it hit the ground with a loud thud. Instantly, the body became dust and scattered into the wind.
"What was that about you jerk!?" Naruto yelled at Sasuke, angry at what Sasuke was going to do.
"That's my line! You stopped me from finishing it earlier! Just so you could save that worthless bandit's life, Master Jose was right, you fairies are weak!" Sasuke's words made Naruto angry.
"And you phantoms think that you are above everyone. Even if she is a bandit, she has friends that care about her and Anko herself cares about these guys. You were willing to take her life just to take out that demon, what happened to you?" Naruto looked upset now as Sasuke just sneered.
"Nothing happened, I just realised that to gain strength, I need to discard weaknesses such as mercy and compassion." Sasuke's voice was now calm but his facial expression showed disdain. "Something you fairies lack."
"If that's the case then I don't need that sort of strength! I'd rather be a weak fairy than a heartless phantom!" Naruto replied with matching intensity. Naruto and Sasuke were about to start another slugfest, only for Anko to stop them.
"Hey! We still have a job to do! And you'll pay for almost killing my subordinate Uchiha!" Anko glared at Sasuke. Anko limped to her subordinate and asked if she was alright, the reply from the girl shocked her as she hugged Anko and cried into her shoulder. "Hey, it's okay."
"T-That demon told us about you being a spy for the magic council. Is this t-true?" She meekly asked her boss.
"We'll talk about it later, I'm just glad you're safe. What about the others?" Anko meant the last part, she grew to care for the bandits and they now looked up to her.
"We were captured by that thing and some of us got hurt, but we were lucky no was killed." She revealed, making Anko sigh in relief.
"Go on ahead, your nose can find what I'm looking for right?" She asked Naruto nodded at her and then entered the cave.
'Naruto stopped my Chidori and wab able to withstand some of my most devastating spells earlier…..I need to speak with Master Jose.' Sasuke tightened his fists and looked then loosened them. "Forget about reimbursing me for the job, you can handle this with that loser. I have something to do." Sasuke told Anko, walking away from the, and shocking the snake user.
'He's leaving? And he made a big deal about being paid what he's owed.' Her eyes kept staring at Sasuke's retreating form. 'This boy, he possesses such darkness…' Anko was brought out of her thoughts when Naruto called her.
"Anko! Come inside! I found the drugs!" Anko was helped by her subordinates and entered the hideout. She saw her healthier subordinates helping the more injured ones and was happy with their sense of comradery. When arrived to where the stolen goods where, Naruto revealed that the stashes were inside the goods.
'Clever, but not clever enough you old bastard!' Anko was happy to know that her mission was over and now had another mission. 'Next I'll get that guy from the council and expose him!'
"Hey, since you got what you needed, can you handle that scum?" Naruto was referring to Gato.
"You got it kid. By the way, the Uchiha left already, suddenly said that he didn't care about the money." When Anko told him Sasuke left, he was a little surprised.
'Sasuke. What's wrong with you? You might be a jerk but not at this level.' Naruto then told Anko not to worry and made his way back to Kurama's group. 'Now, I should pick up Kurama's scent and find the others.'
"So, I guess I have some explaining to do?" Anko turned to her subordinates and began to explain what her mission was and how she could get them to work for her, but they would need to face a small punishment before they could work for her. 'You're going down old man and then I'll expose you.' Anko was thinking of the corrupt official and imagined his smirking face.
(With Kurama's group, some time later)
"Well, looks like Naruto's done." Kurama's ears twitched at first and he felt Naruto's magic. "How did it go? Did you beat the Uchiha? Or did you get your ass kicked again?" The others turned to see Naruto appear almost instantly. Wendy was first to run towards him and check for any serious injuries.
"Are you alright? How are your injuries?" Wendy asked him, which made Naruto rub the back of his head in embarrassment.
"I wasn't hurt too bad but Sasuke's attacks did a number on me. Don't worry though, I recover fast." Naruto smiled at her and then began to explain what happened to him whilst they were away. "So, me and Sasuke made a truce, and it turns out Anko was working for the Magic Council. So, I helped her out and she got what she needs to put that old geezer in jail."
"What a relief." Both Wendy and Hinata stated the same thing, with Wendy happy to know that the drug operation is over and Hinata was happy that she actually helped stop some of the drugs from reaching their destinations.
"Now, let's get you back home." Naruto said, immediately stopping any positive thoughts from Wendy and Hinata.
"A-About that Naruto…." Wendy spoke a little too meekly to the blonde.
"Okay, what happened?" Naruto could sense the tension, he may be dense, but he was no fool.
(With Sasuke)
"I see, your quest became null and void. Well, do not worry about it too much. But, I would like to know why you look so…..beat up?" A voice came from a communication lacrima Sasuke placed in front of himself whilst he rested and sat on a log.
"Naruto Uzumaki is what happened. The loser became much stronger and withstood some powerful spells even though my magic has a type advantage. I didn't lose Master Jose, but I did not win either." Sasuke told the person from the lacrima, who was revealed to be the Guild Master of Phantom Lord and one of the Ten Wizard Saints, Jose Porla.
"That brat withstood your lightning? Seems like you underestimated him, I would have thought you would eventually stop doing that when he defeated you…49 times was it?" Jose laughed when Sasuke's lightning danced around him.
"Those were flukes! And I'm much stronger than I was then, the next time we fight, I'll make sure he loses the will to fight!" Sasuke declared.
"Then I might have some good news. We now have an opportunity to utilise the plan." Jose told Sasuke with confidence and a smirk, which caused Sasuke to have a smirk of his own.
'Naruto, Fairy Tail. Your time is done.' Sasuke's smirk grew bigger.
(Back with Naruto's group)
"So, your dad wants to force you to marry some guy you don't even know and was a terrible excuse of a dad at that?" Naruto knew something was off about Hiashi when they met him. "Then you definitely need to go back." He shocked everyone, with even Kurama a little surprised, though he knew Naruto had his reasons.
"W-What?" Hinata stuttered out, with Wendy also speaking out.
"Naruto, what are you saying?" She asked the blonde, who had a look of contemplation.
"Here's the thing Hinata, you can keep running but nothing will change until you confront him. Tell him how you feel and that your life is yours to live. I'm not going to force you to go back, but if you truly want that, then you have to stand your ground." Naruto spoke the truth, no matter how brutal it was, he was right, something the others agreed with, even Hinata herself knew that it was true.
"Y-You're right. B-But I c-can't. N-Not on my o-own." Hinata replied with doubt and was scared.
"You won't be alone. You'll have us. Right guys." Naruto told her with confidence and complete certainty. The others were shocked especially the pale-eyed girl, who began to stutter even more and could barely make out her words.
"W-Why? W-Why a-are you h-helping m-me?" She asked them. "W-Weren't y-you h-hired to t-take me b-back?"
"Hehehe. Hahahaha!" Naruto started to laugh, not a cruel laugh, but as if he heard a joke from a good friend. He confused the others but then began to explain after calming down from his laughter. "Because you need help, if we don't, who will?" This shocked her to the core.
'I forgot how much of a fool you are, but that's not a bad thing.' Kurama smiled at the thought. "What the blonde idiot is saying that for him, helping people in need does not require a reason. He is simply choosing to do what he believes is right. That is the Fairy Tail way after all." When Kurama said Fairy Tail, Hinata lost her stutter and grabbed Naruto by the shoulder and shook him.
"YOU'RE FROM FAIRY TAIL!" Hinata recalled numerous times about how she heard Fairy Tail's reputation as destructive guild, especially how the Salamander of Fairy Tail ended up destroying her father's mansion and several parts of the town. Naruto just held his ears from Hinata's outburst.
"Hey, not too loud. But yeah, and I wouldn't have it any other way." Naruto told her with complete pride in his tone. "But does that change anything for you?"
"No. You're right, I must confront my father and tell him that my life is my own to live!" Hinata then looked grateful. "Thanks to the one known as Salamander, I was able to use the destruction caused by him to escape!" This made the other three look at Naruto, Kurama and Carla just gave him a stoic look, with Wendy give him a nervous look, complete with a small laugh.
'Well, that's Natsu alright…that idiot!' Naruto sighed and spoke. "Well, Natsu does go overboard. Even I go overboard at times….." Naruto admitted, laughing nervously.
"Well, you Dragon Slayers are destructive freaks of nature." Kurama yawned out and was now on his stomach, preparing himself for another nap but waited for a reaction to the information he just provided.
"Wait? Did you say Dragon Slayer!?" Wendy exclaimed out loud, with even Carla shocked to hear this.
"Yeah, I'm a Dragon Slayer and so is Natsu. Is something wrong with that?" Naruto asked as Wendy, who regained her composure and apologised for her outburst.
"Please forgive me for my outburst earlier. You see, I'm also a Dragon Slayer like you and Natsu." Naruto at first reacted normally until his eyes comically widened.
"Say what!?" Naruto briefly frightened the others, except the seemingly stoic Kurama, who expected this from the blonde.
'Couldn't he be quieter? This is what I get for having a loud mouth for a partner.' Kurama just yawned again for the umpteenth time. "I'm surprised you guys didn't notice earlier. You both could sniff out those drugs from Gato's place, not many normal people could do that and not to mention your enhanced hearing too."
"It does make sense. You do have enhanced senses that are even greater than a pack of wolves. And there is a possibility that there are more Dragon Slayers like you here according to yourself, Wendy." Carla interjected.
"Excuse me." Hinata was confused and interrupted their conversation. "I'm confused here, dragons? What are you talking about? Aren't dragons from children's story books?"
"Dragons are real, I was raised by one. They taught us Dragon Slayer Magic, Gramps called it Lost Magic at one point. Dragon Slayer Magic, was made to specifically hunt dragons. My element is water." Naruto channelled water into his right hand. "Well, we drink water anyway, but basically I can consume water and use it to regain magic and power up my spells too."
"Wait, if you were raised by a dragon, then why learn magic meant to kill them?" Hinata was confused about why they need to learn a magic used to hunt dragons if they were raised by dragons.
"Because just like humans, there are a good dragons and bad ones. The dragons who hate humans ate them and the ones who raised us taught us Dragon Slayer Magic to protect ourselves." Naruto told the Hyuuga girl, who understood and nodded her head. "Well, we all better get some rest and then head out." Everyone agreed, with Naruto being the last and was about to put out the fire.
"Naruto." Wendy called out his name and caused him to turn to her. "I'm sorry to disturb you but I wanted ask you something. Please be honest with me."
"If it's about the dragon who raised me disappearing in the year X777 and the 7th of July, I'm sorry, but I can't help you there." Before Wendy could argue, Naruto specified why. "It's not that I don't want to, but I don't know what happened to the dragons that disappeared that day. Neither does Natsu."
"Does this mean that your dragon disappeared too on that day?" Wendy had to ask the blonde, but Naruto remained silent for a while, looking at the dancing flames. "I-I mean you don't have to talk about it! I understand what you are going through. My mother, Grandine, I still try to search for her when I can. I'm sure tha,,,,,"
"It's fine. I'd rather not go into what happened to Jormugandr. That's the name of the dragon who raised me." Naruto possessed a small smile. "Say, why don't you tell me about your mom, and I'll tell you about my dad. You go first?"
"Alright. First, what was your father's name? And what was he like?" Wendy was now in a lighter mood and asked the blonde about his father.
"Well, his name was Jormugandr and he was the Water Dragon. He was strict but he was fair. He taught me everything I know and I know that he loved me as if I was his own flesh and blood." Naruto smiled at the memories. "He was a good father and a good teacher. What about Grandine?"
"She was kind and gentle. Whenever I cried, she would cheer me up. When it was raining and it was cold, she kept me close and hugged me to keep me warm. I never knew my biological parents, but that doesn't matter because Grandine was the mother I always wanted and needed." Wendy smiled and thought about the many times she shared with Grandine.
"And what element do you use? You already know mine, so, do you mind telling what it is?" Naruto asked her, being more a little more polite then how he usually speaks, but also curious.
"Not at all. Grandine was the Sky Dragon, so I use Sky Dragon Slayer Magic." She looked at Naruto and was then surprised by Naruto looking at her with interest.
"Wait! Does that mean you can eat the sky itself!?" Naruto asked her with stars appearing in his eyes and he came a little closer towards Wendy.
"Uhhh…..No I don't eat the sky, just the air around me. I can't use my magic for attacks but I can use it for support spells" She admitted, expecting Naruto to think lower of her, only to be surprised by what he said next.
"That's awesome!" Naruto now had imaginative stars in his eyes and moved a little closer towards her. "How does the air taste? What does your support magic do? Why can't you use your magic for attacks?" Naruto's questions kept surprising Wendy who finally spoke before he could ask another one.
"P-Please calm down Naruto! Give me some time and then I'll answer your questions." Wendy told him but she was happy that he was excited to talk about her abilities in a positive light.
"My bad. I just get fired up like this at sometimes." Naruto admitted and laughed a little sheepishly.
"Well, to answer your first question, the air can taste different depending on where I am. If the air is polluted, I can't really use it to power myself up and use it for spells. Next, my support spells can be used to enhance a person's strength, speed and other attributes." Wendy told him the advantages of her support-type magic, which Naruto understood. "But the main use of my magic is for healing."
"Healing Magic? That's supposed to be a rare magic according to Granny and supposed to be what she called Lost Magic. That's really cool." He praised her, making her blush. "So, is there a reason why you can't use your magic to fight?"
"I-It's not that I can't use spells to fight. It's just that I don't know any offensive spells and I don't like fighting nor do I know how to fight." She told him the truth, hoping that he wouldn't think less of her and thankfully for her, he didn't.
"Well, if you ever need help learning attack spells, or even hand-to-hand combat, look me up. Even if you don't like fighting, you can use these spells and skills to protect yourself." Naruto offered to teach her how to protect herself, surprising her once more but this lead her to smile, a smile which made Naruto blush. 'S-She really cute.' Naruto then regained focus and gave her his own bright smile, causing Wendy to blush.
'H-He's really cute.' Wendy had the same thoughts about Naruto and blushed too, until she regained focus herself. "I would really like that." The two of them would go to sleep, with Naruto looking at the star longer.
Sorry for the delay, had a lot in my plate with life trying to constantly kick me down. For Muslim readers, Ramadan Mubarak.
I'm planting the seeds for a Naruto and Wendy romance. Also, for those who are interested in Zack Snyder's Justice League, I say go watch it when you can, it is an enjoyable film.
Now going on forward, I will slowly deviate a lot of canon and make some major changes, with some results staying the same at times. Hope you enjoyed my first OC, Naga in this story. I rarely use OCs now, but I might for special long chapters, i.e. movie chapters. I will also bring my older style of writing when it came to fights for my other story, Dark Heart and perhaps this one, basically the more brutal aspects of fighting.
