~Henry's POV~
The day finally came when Dr. Wylde let Sera leave the hospital. She was moving her arm with ease now, though she had a tiny bit of tension. Her twin sister, Bea, was placed under arrest for almost killing her sister. Which in my eyes, is good for her. She deserved that if she was willing to hurt such a flower of a girl.
...
Is it too soon to say that I might be in love?
I helped Sera into the loft, my grandmother, Snow White herself, was smiling by the counter with my grandfather. My birth mom was here, too, helping out the best way she could. Sera just smiled with such gratitude and a regal nature, before she noticed my grandparents before her.
"King James and Queen Snow White," She said, curtsying to them. "It's an honor."
"Oh, honey, don't be so formal!" My grandmother said as she walked over and gave Sera a gentle hug. "It's Mary Margaret and David here." Sera returned the hug for a brief moment before my grandmother pulled away. "Welcome to our home."
"Thank you for taking me in," Sera said as she pushed some of her hair behind her ear. "If Henry hadn't offered the help, I'd probably be a heap on the floor."
"It's no trouble at all," My grandfather said. "And your sister, Bea...she's being put away for this crime. She won't be getting out for a while."
"Thank you," Sera's smile lit up her face as excitement painted her eyes. Just her overall appearance was breathtaking.
"Now, Henry will show you up to the spare bed upstairs and we'll let you get settled in," Grandma said. "Stay as long as you like."
"Thank you, again, you're so kind," Sera said before I led her up the stairs. I could hear my birth mom downstairs saying how she has a feeling I have a crush. And she'd be right, but I wasn't going to give her that pleasure of knowing she's right. She can work for it.
I pointed to a bed that was next to mine and she sat down, letting out a breath that I don't think she knew she was holding. I just chuckled and sat on my bed and grabbed the book. I went to open it when Sera turned to me and sat Indian-style on the bed. I just gave her a look and she gestured to the item in my hand.
"Tell me what it's about," She said. "Bea wouldn't let me touch it back home."
"Why?" I asked.
"I don't know. Protective maybe?" I chuckled again before going into telling her how it started so far, how a prince wished on the moon for help with the war he was fighting and how a moon princess came to answer his cry. She hung on every word as I started reading where I left off.
'The sight of this crescent moon on her forehead meant she was telling the truth of her kingdom. Her heart shined through her eyes and Prince Harold could see that it was a pure heart, a heart of gold, that came to answer his calls for help. So, he accepts her help and powers to stop this war from continuing.'
'And thus, as the days went on, the two fell farther and farther in love with each other. So much so that Prince Harold forbid ever marrying the neighboring kingdom's daughter to put a stop to the war. His father may not have been happy about this notion, but seeing his son in love was the best gift he could have asked for.'
'One day, while relaxing at the pond the two met at, Prince Harold declared that they were to be wed someday and the Kingdom of the Moon and his shall become one great kingdom. They'd call it Crystal Forest.'
'Princess Serafina loved that idea and asked permission to go and mention this to her parents. "They'd be ecstatic!" She had said and he agreed. The two shared a kiss before running off into the pond and vanished in a puff of white smoke. The plan was in motion. With the moon by their side, Prince Harold's kingdom was a force to be threatened. And it helped that his love for its princess met no bounds.'
I turned the page, taking a glance at Sera and seeing her on the edge of her seat. She was intrigued.
'But, the war between the neighboring kingdom grew stronger. So strong that Prince Harold was sent into battle to see if he could stop any ounce of this war. But while he was sent out, his parents were killed from a poison only one person he knew could use. He went to go find that witch, but on his way, he was attacked by the soldiers from the other kingdom. He managed to kill most of them, but in the end, he lost his fight and perished, with the last thought on his mind being Princess Serafina.'
"Whoa," I said, looking up at Sera, seeing the glistening of tears in her eyes. "Brutal."
"That's so sad! He was getting ready to marry the woman he loved!" Sera exclaimed, making me grin before continuing.
'Princess Serafina had returned to earth, frazzled, for her twin sister, Princess Beatrix, had decided to take the throne for herself and killed all those who opposed her. Princess Serafina was one of them and was on the brink of losing her life when she managed to escape to return to her beloved. She ran to the kingdom, but with no sign of him there, she raced around to all the locations they'd been to together. But finding him dead was the last thing she thought she'd do.'
'She ran to him and cried over his body, wishing on her last shred of hope that her life didn't crumble before her very eyes. Her kingdom, her beloved, her life...all gone. Taking the moonstone ring back from around his neck, she used its power to take her beloved's soul, along with her own, to be reborn in a new world, one where they'd get that happily ever after they so desperately wanted.'
'And with this magic, the forest changed. The kingdoms were settled, the forest was calm, and it became what we know it to be to this day: the Enchanted Forest.'
"Oh, wow...so, this all technically happened before your grandparents even met?" Sera asked.
"Before they were even born, yeah," I said as I turned the page...and paused.
"What?" She asked as she walked over and sat beside me. I showed her the page and got the same reaction from her as I had.
The page was blank.
