Phantom

"See you later Wendy! Come back to visit soon!" Hinata waved goodbye to Wendy, as the other girl boarded the train with her feline companion. Wendy waved back and then looked at Naruto, who gave her a thumbs up, with a gentle smile, with the young girl returning it. The two said their goodbyes and left, with Carla looking at the young girl who has been her only friend. Wendy held a hand to her heart and kept a radiant smile on her face.

'That boy and her new friends have made her happy. Happier than I have ever seen her.' Carla sighed and had a small smile herself. 'As long as she's safe, I guess I can allow her to come back here a few times to meet them. That and she's getting stronger.' However, she did not notice that Wendy started to feel off. They would realise with Wendy's growth, she would also gain a new weakness.

(Magical Council Library-Isolated Room)

"Hahahaha!" Jellal laughed as Ultear returned from her mission at Galuna Island. At the island, in her disguise, she fought against Natsu Dragneel and the Fire Dragon Slayer managed to land a hit which left her face swollen.

Fairy Tail had managed to succeed in their mission, Deliora had died long before he was released by the ice thanks to Ultear's own mother, Ur. The person whom Ultear manipulated to work for her was once Gray's fellow disciple, Lyon Vastia and he wanted to fight the creature to prove that he had surpassed their former teacher. Luckily, Lyon and his group were beaten and the people of Galuna Island were freed from their curse, only for Erza to reveal that they have always been demons. Erza had told the villagers that unfortunately that since Natsu and the others took the request without permission, however, Lucy still received the Celestial Spirit Key for the spirit Sagittarius as a reward due to their efforts.

"That pink-haired brat!" Ultear had comical tears on her face. "Next time I see him, I'll break his teeth!" Ultear was mad.

"Now, now. I have plans for him and some of his guild mates. It is the sake for our lord after all." Jellal told her whilst trying to calm her down.

"The Tower of Heaven is almost complete then? Good, our ambitions will come to fruition." Ultear then smirked. "Oh, nice touch with Asuma by the way. You sent one of Death Head Caucus' strongest wizards to capture someone who could have ruined our plan."

"Well, it also works to our advantage. Now some of their resources will be used to find Asuma. Kakashi Hatake will try to find his friend and former squad mate. Speaking of which, almost seems poetic for Kimimaro Kaguya of all people to defeat Kakashi's right-hand man." Ultear recalled that Kimimaro was once a disciple of the legendary Zabuza Momoichi.

"Kimimaro is professional, he rarely allows his personal feelings get to him on missions. He brought Asuma back alive, despite his desire to kill him. Kakashi was responsible for Zabuza's death after all." Jellal recalled the battle the two had. "It was a close battle, but Kakashi managed to pierce Zabuza's chest using his signature technique and now all that remains of the Mist Demon's legacy are his disciples. Kimimaro and Haku."

"I heard that you also hired Trinity Raven of all groups. You really are going all out with the plan, aren't you?" Ultear questioned Jellal, who usually does not make plans without consulting her.

"What can I say? I like to be prepared. The day will come when I will finally be free." Jellal stated, placing his right hand over his marked face. 'And my suffering will not be for nothing!'

"Well, better to have the extra muscle and ensure that the R-System is complete." Ultear commented. 'He's starting to do things his own way, if he keeps this up, he may ruin our plan.'

'The deal I made with the Guild Master of Death Head's Caucus means he'll lend me Kimimaro for a while. Even if Kimimaro were to betray me, which I highly doubt, his strength pales in comparison to my own. Despite his cursed powers.' Jellal was confident in his own abilities, as he himself is a Wizard Saint.

(Fairy Tail Guild at Night)

"Geehee! Looks like they're all gone. You got that note ready, Uchiha?" A man with black spikey hair in the form of a mane with metal piercings around his face and no eyebrows. This is Gajeel Redfox, Phantom Lord's other ace right beside Sasuke. Speaking of Sasuke, he was standing beside Gajeel with a piece of paper.

"Hn." Sasuke simply stated as Gajeel immediately understood and formed an iron club from his hand.

"Then let's trash this place!" Gajeel's club extended as he began to trash Fairy Tail's Hall and the rest of the building. He stabbed the ground as more iron clubs came out and went through the building. "Hahaha!"

"Hand me a nail, Iron Face." Sasuke held out his left hand whilst facing a pillar and avoided Gajeel's gaze.

"Call me that again and you'll get the club to the face." Gajeel threatened Sasuke, who just ignore his little comments and still motioned for him to give him a nail. "Whatever." Gajeel created a nail and handed it to Sasuke, who placed it on the pillar. The two left, the sheet of paper only shown one thing, the emblem of Phantom Lord.

"So, I heard that Uzumaki guy kicked your butt this time around. How many wins does that make it for him now?" When Gajeel asked that, Sasuke turned around with lightning flowing through his eyes.

"Come again?" Sasuke's reply was simple and his tone fierce. "Our fight was postponed and while I admit that the loser was able to hold his own against me this time he won't get the jump on me next time. Make no mistake Redfox. He didn't beat me!" Sasuke had to calm himself down as despite his temper, he knew that Gajeel was needed for Phantom Lord's plans and he knew that Gajeel was the other ace in their guild. "Never mind, we'll fight again soon, and this time it will be our last."

"Geehee. Why? You going to kill him this time?" Gajeel had a maniacal grin on his face. 'This guy doesn't admit it often, but that Uzumaki guy is making Uchiha obsessed. Guess even he has someone he hates.'

"Oh no. Killing him isn't enough, I want to break him. Show him his place and how weak he really is!" Sasuke gave an evil smirk for a brief moment, which returned to his usual scowl.

'This guy has issues, but he's also crazy strong. The fairies won't know what hit 'em! Geehee!' Gajeel was more than confident that Phantom Lord could take on Fairy Tail in full on fight.

(The next morning)

"Damn! To think they would snoop so low." Makarov whispered to himself as he now held the sheet of paper that Sasuke placed on the pillar last night. Everyone was livid and wondered who would do such a thing to their guild.

"Master, what does it say on that note?" Mira, who was glad no one was hurt, was still greatly upset at the place she has thought of home destroyed.

"Nothing, just their guild emblem. This was Phantom Lord's doing." When Makarov mentioned this, a lot of the members became angry, including the one just appeared and held in his rage. Naruto appeared, anger and frustration marring his face.

"What do you want to do, Gramps?" Naruto asked the wise old man, who could easily tell that Naruto wanted some payback, but he also knew that out of the many troublesome members, Naruto had the most restraint, as long as no one was hurt.

"They want to rile us up and cause a Guild War. I know most of you want to make them pay and especially you, Naruto. But no one we cared about has been hurt from this, so that's why we will not retaliate." Makarov looked at everyone, especially Naruto. "That means no fighting, I know how frustrated you all feel, but at the end of the day, this hall can be rebuilt." Makarov had a point, something everyone had to agree with, despite feeling angry. Naruto calmed down and sighed.

"Fine, just because no one got hurt Gramps." Naruto would have released his magic, but the thought of knowing none of his friends were hurt helped calm him down slightly.

'I guess we should all be happy Naruto has some patience, but knowing him, one more push and not even Master can stop him from doing something reckless. Not that I can blame him this time.' Mira knew that Naruto becomes a monster when someone he cares about is hurt or worse. 'I never want to see Naruto like that again.' Inside Mira's mind flashed the image of an angry and bloodied Naruto, standing over a giant humanoid creature. 'I almost lost Elfman the same day Lisanna died.'

"Well, I'll arrange for some repairs later, but now…..Bring out the booze!" Makarov went back to his usual, making a lot of the members sigh, but they all joined him.

'If those guys attack again, I'll make sure no one gets hurt. And then I'll beat down anyone who even thinks about attacking my friends.' Naruto then sighed and went to the basement where everyone would eat and drink. Hinata would join them and find out what happened to their guild.

(Phantom Lord's Guild Hall)

"Well done. Now, they'll be careful and that's when phase 2 will commence. Sorry for overworking you Gajeel." Jose Porla, one of the 10 Wizard Saints and Phantom Lord's Guild Master, told his subordinate. Jose Porla had was a man with dark purple hair and moustache, a sorcerer and jester-type attire with bat wings and a hat.

"And you Sasuke. You will get your chance to settle your score with that Uzumaki brat. Just wait patiently and it will be over soon." Jose was met with Sasuke's usual reply, a cold hn, but Sasuke also had smirk form.

'After I beat you, I can put this stupid rivalry to rest and focus on more important matters.' Sasuke was proud of his own abilities and whilst he was a prodigy in his own right, he was arrogant. Sasuke took his leave without saying a word to them.

'Sasuke is arguably my strongest wizard and for good reason. However, Sasuke refuses to admit it, but he has an inferiority complex when it comes to that Uzumaki brat and constantly wants to one up him. That Uzumaki brat is making him work harder and that means Sasuke won't hold back when the time arrives for our inevitable battle with Fairy Tail. Sasuke do not disappoint me.' Josa Porla grinned as he imagined their victory and Fairy Tail's total annihilation.

'The Uchiha's getting bloodthirsty. He usually thinks of him as an insect, but now all he's thinking about is beating that Uzumaki guy.' Gajeel noticed a shift in Sasuke when it came to Naruto. 'Usually, he wouldn't give a crap about him, but now all he wants to do is beat him. It's kind of funny seeing that jerk annoyed like this. Geehee.'

'Fairy Tail has had its moment in the limelight. Phantom Lord will become the number 1 guild in Fiore….No Ishgar and Fairy Tail will be nothing but a distant memory!' Jose laughed in his head and thought of Fairy Tail's downfall.

(Back with Fairy Tail)

Natsu's group had arrived and discovered their guild trashed. They were now facing Makarov, who welcomed them back and told them what happened. They in turn explained what happened at Galuna Island, Ur's sacrifice not being in vain, Lyon turning a new leaf and the villagers free of their curse, revealing them to be kind demons all along.

"Sounds like you guys had a blast." Naruto commented before taking a large bite from a large mutton and then gulped down his drink. Naruto was clearly annoyed and continued eating, albeit chewing slowly and still having a frown on his face.

'Yeah, Naruto's mad too. I don't blame him.' Gray thought and sighed, knowing that the guild had to let this event slide unless they wanted to deal with the Magical Council again.

"He really is upset." Hinata commented to Kurama, only to realise that he was sleeping again. 'He really loves to sleep, doesn't he?'

'Wait is that Hinata? The Mayor of Lupinus Town's daughter? I haven't seen her in ages!' Lucy would have made her way to greet Hinata but could not as Natsu argued with Makarov about Phantom Lord attacking their guild.

"Wait! First you need to be punished for what you did!?" Makarov stretched his hand and slapped Natsu, Gray and Happy's heads. He then slapped Lucy's butt.

"And why did you slap my butt!? This counts as sexual harassment you know!" Lucy was angry and did not like when something like this occurred. Mira scolded Makarov afterwards and the mood slowly calmed down, with Natsu, like Naruto reluctantly accepting what happened. Though if Phantom Lord were to attack again, Natsu would show no mercy against them.

"Hi there! You're Hinata, aren't you? It has been a few years, but it is nice to see you again!" Lucy had met Hinata a few years ago. Hinata's eyes widened and returned to normal, her face forming a smile.

"Lucy! It has been a long time!" Hinata and Lucy hugged each other, confusing Naruto and the group that she came back with.

"I take it you know each other?" Naruto's mood lightened at seeing the two girls smile. Lucy explained that a few years ago she met Hinata at Lupinus Town on trip with her father and how they became friends over the years, sending each other letters.

"I have a question though, why are you here? Not that it's a bad thing of course!" Lucy waved her hands, not wanting to offend Hinata.

"It's fine Lucy. To be fair, I did not expect to see you here and Mira told me about someone named Lucy joining the guild, I did not think it would be you." Hinata then explained what happened and how Naruto and the others helped her become a wizard and join Fairy Tail. "How about you Lucy? Did you also leav….." Hinata had her mouth covered by Lucy, who then laughed nervously and whispered to Hinata.

"We'll talk about it later." Lucy just hoped Natsu or Naruto did not hear here.

"Wait! So, you met another Dragon Slayer!? And her name is Wendy?" Natsu began to go in deep thought after his small outburst. "That name sounds familiar, but I can't remember where I heard it from?"

"Well, I'll introduce you guys. But she's in the same boat as you, she doesn't know about her mom disappearing." Naruto saw that Natsu was disappointed but by now he was used to it. "Hey, man, you'll find him. I promise to help you when we find any leads on them."

"Thanks! Hey, you said that you almost beat Sasuke this time! If you carried on fighting, you would've evened the score!" Natsu knew about Naruto's rivalry with Sasuke and how he kept score.

"Well, it's surprising that there's now another Dragon Slayer. However, for now, it is nice to meet you Hinata. Welcome to Fairy Tail." Erza, Gray and Natsu greeted her, with Happy appearing in front of her.

"You must be Happy. Naruto mentioned you. And you must be Erza, it is nice to meet you." Hinata began to become acquainted with the rest of the guild and Natsu's group.

A few hours later, everyone left in groups in case of Phantom, with Lucy offering Hinata a place to stay for a while.

"I'm glad you two are with me. With Phantom Lord attacking our guild, I feel safer with you two around." Levy McGarden was a little nervous, but she knew her teammates, Jet and Droy were strong in their own right.

"Just leave it to us Levy! We'll send those jerks packing!" Jet and Droy showed some bravado, but unbeknownst to them, they were being watched by none other then Gajeel Redfox.

'Time to show you fairies why phantoms are better! Geehee!' Gajeel smirked as his arm changed into an iron club. He pounced from the shadows.

(The next day)

Naruto and Kurama were sleeping in their house but were disturbed by loud knocking and the blonde woke up, albeit in a groggy state. He was still wrapped in a blanket and then walked up to the door and opened it.

"N-Naruto!" Wakaba was breathing heavily as Naruto yawned. "P-Phantom! They attacked again!" Naruto then turned serious, as did Kurama, who woke up after hearing the news. Naruto quickly changed as he and Wakaba headed to the park after Wakaba informed him on what happened.

(Park)

"T-This is too far!" Lucy saw Team Shadow Gear pinned to the large tree, with Levy even branded by Phantom Lord's insignia. Hinata also placed her hand on her mouth to see a horrifying sight.

"Those bastards!" Naruto arrived and was mad. He could barely hold his magic back and looked at his friends. He then felt that someone who had more rage than himself and turned around to see Makarov walk forward. Naruto gave him way and saw the look on Makarov's eyes.

"Somebody get them down and take them to the hospital." Makarov said in a reserved voice, but many could tell that he was angry. Naruto and Natsu got them down, passing their injured friend s to other members who hurriedly took them to get treatment.

"I let it slide and wanted to avoid a war with you Phantom. Now, my children's blood was shed and that is too far!" Makarov's power began to leak slightly as he continued. "I will not let harm come to my children without taking revenge! We have no choice to go to war! Everyone who is able, let's show them when you mess with our own!" Makarov's words made a response as most of the Fairy Tail guild roared and followed their Guild Master to challenge Phantom Lord, this time, they will show no mercy.
