The Dal

Aife sat tapping her finger on the bar. She took another drink and went back to tapping it again.

"Aife". Trick sighed in front of her.

"I didn't ask for your company". Aife stared hard at him.

"I know you hate me..". Trick started.

"Hate is such a small definition to define my feelings for you". The Succubus gritted her teeth.

"We have so much in common, Aife. We have Bo...". Trick choked.

"That's Isabeau to you. You will put some respect on that name. You certainly never deserved or respected the Queen". Aife squeezed his neck violently and dropped him.

The old man coughed as he held his neck. Shaking his head, he stood. "I loved your mother, Aife. I did. I still do".

"Enough to allow her to die. Enough to put her only child in solitude for avenging her death. Your baby nuts were only good enough to help her conceive me. I'll give you one percent of gratitude for that. But other than that, you are shit to me." Aife took a long drink and tossed the empty glass at Trick's head. "Damn, I need to aim better next time".

"Aife, please. Stay. Stay so we can talk". Trick pleaded as he watched the glass fall into his hand.

"I wonder if Mother wants to come back". Aife spoke over her shoulder, then turned her head over her shoulder.

"What do you mean?". Trick walked slowly over to her.

"She probably would like to return. If nothing else but to kick your ass. I would give away free tickets to anyone wanting to see it." Aife seethed. She hates this bastard so much. But killing him would send him directly to her mother. That's too good for him.

"That's not possible". Trick shook his head.

"Oh, it is damn possible with the right people". Aife smiled. She knew she struck a nerve. She hopes he feels like he's been kicked in the balls many times over.

Trick stood watching her walk out. His mouth was wide open. Aife is far more dangerous than he ever thought possible. He walked behind the bar and took a seat. "This can't be. She doesn't know how to do this".

"Trick?". Dyson walked in.

"What is it now?". Trick sighed.

"Easy. I was just going to see if you needed anything before I left for home. I saw Aife leaving. She left looking amused. You look upset". Dyson raised a hand.

"Find Tamsin. Bring her to me at once". Trick waved the wolf out of the building.

"Tamsin has been gone for years, Trick. I'm not sure I can do that". Dyson shook his head.

"I didn't ask what you can do. I told you to find her, now do it! Trick snapped. He yanked at his tie and loosened it a bit.

Dyson rolled his eyes and ran out of the bar. It was going to take some doing to find that old Valkyrie. She's Dark Fae which makes his assignment that much more complicated. He doesn't have a single contact that can help him with this. The Morrigan hates him. Perhaps she hates Tamsin more and he could play on those emotions to find her.

Kenzi

Kenzi shook the last drop of liquor out of the last bottle of liquor she had at home. Trick had kicked her out of the bar when Bo left, and she's flat broke.

She could go to Dyson but he wigged out about how lowly humans are after Bo and Lauren left the bar. That pissed her off. So she is not about to ask him for anything. So, she threw the bottle into the trash and went up to her bedroom. Bo has her mate, and Kenzi has nothing. She smiled knowing Bo will eventually call or check on her. Until then, it's back to the grind of the streets.

Bo and Lauren

Bo opened her eyes and pulled a piece of popcorn out of her hair. "Lauren?". She stretched and called out. The blonde walked over with a cleaning towel in her hand.

"I could have helped with that. Why didn't you wake me?". Bo sat up and pulled some empty beer bottles from the coffee table.

"I tried waking you up. You told me no". Lauren smiled.

Bo leaned in and whispered. "I'll never tell you no". She winked and stood.

"Well, you did that time". Lauren smiled as she wiped up sticky spots and tossed the trash in the bin.

"I mean it, Lauren. I can help. What's next?". Bo stood to match the doctor.

"Sweeping". Lauren pointed.

"We have a vacuum". Bo scratched her head.

Lauren turned to the brunette and eyed her.

"Or, I can sweep". Bo smiled as she walked past the blonde.

"Sorry. Vacuums are good but I prefer sweeping to make sure we get everything up." Lauren explained as she pulled some bottled water out.

"What time is it?". Bo looked around.

"Almost 9". Lauren replied.

"Still early enough for a date". Bo licked her lips.

"You want to go out?". Lauren popped her head around the corner.

"I do. If you don't, that's okay". Bo waved off her idea.

"I was asking you". Lauren replied.

"Oh, then hell yes." Bo grabbed the broom and swept like she had never swept before.

"I'll shower while you finish up". Lauren hung the wet towel up to dry and left Bo to it.

"I can shower with you!". Bo screamed.

"Nope. You said you wanted to help. That's helping". Lauren laughed over her shoulder.

"Damn". Bo laughed to herself. "Me and my big mouth".

Lauren smiled thinking of Bo. Just when she thought they were over before they actually started. Here they are, mates. As educated as she is regarding the Fae world, she never once read about a succubus mating with a human before. But then again some of Bo's kisses were intense. Almost trance-like. Her body certainly remembers every moment in bed, on chairs, in Bo's car. Just about everywhere.

They even had a quickie at a stop light on the way to the Dal. She closed her eyes and smiled. This could be a wonderful life. Gone is that damn necklace. It felt so light yet so heavy over the years with the Fae. Sure, she's in a relationship with a Fae but she's right where she wants to be. Where she needs to be. Everything about Bo is everything she wants. Love. Consideration. Passion. Warmth on cold moments that she thinks of her past. Bo is her present and forever future.

Bo smiled thinking of Lauren. The doctor had scrubbed a clean house even cleaner since the last movie Bo remembered watching before she dozed off. She dumped the dust in the bin and put her supplies away. She heard the shower running. She licked her lips as she stripped running to the bathroom. Hurry she thought and jumped into the shower just as Lauren held a hand out to turn the water off.

"Going somewhere?". Bo panted as she stepped under the shower.

"I was adjusting the water pressure. Is that too hot?". Lauren asked.

"It's cold, actually. Come warm me up". Bo pulled the blonde to her and kissed her hard before slamming her back against the shower wall.

"That was nice". Bo licked her lips as she pulled an outfit from the closet.

"It was." Lauren replied as she stared at her clothes. Nothing was jumping out as an idea on what to wear.

"Where are we going?". Bo asked. She suddenly didn't know what to wear either. Everything on her side of the closet is mostly black and leathery.

"Dinner and dancing". Lauren tapped her hand on her chin.

"We can do that here". Bo pulled a naked Lauren into her arms and spun her around.

"After our shower, I'm starving". Lauren laughed and pulled back.

"Okay. Okay". Bo let go and stood beside the doctor. "Burgers?". She asked shyly.

"Bo?". Lauren turned to her.

"I'm sorry, Lauren. Look at my clothes. They are not formal at all. I am embarrassed that I can't dress fancy enough to take you out somewhere fancy". Bo shook her head in shame.

"We can always buy more clothes. More importantly than that, don't do that. Don't think you or anything that you wear will embarrass me or not be good enough to take me out. You are enough. No matter what you are dressed in". Lauren squeezed her hand.

"I love you Lauren. I do. But I'm not dumb. You can be living anywhere. Somewhere fabulously rich and with better people. Smarter people Here you are, with me, in this house". Bo looked around.

"You are smart Bo and I love you too. Besides this is our house. Ours. We can build whatever life we want. I'm happy here. I love it here. I'm loved here". Lauren pushed a dark lock over Bo's head.

Bo smiled and pulled something from her closet. "You will look beautiful in that" Lauren smiled.

"Then pick something and let's go. I want to show you off. The world. Whatever world we run into. Whatever world we sit in." Bo quickly dressed.

Lauren laughed and pulled an outfit out. She dressed and checked her appearance with Bo standing a good distance behind her.

"I never thought I deserved anything good. I was living alone, and killing people. I didn't know how to stop it. I didn't know how to stop running. I was in and out of beds and the nastiest shacks you could ever imagine. I thought eventually, I would die one day and the killing would stop. Then I met you. Then you told me what I am and helped me with it. I knew I wanted to live. Forever, with you". Bo squeezed Lauren in her arms.

They both closed their eyes and stood there for a few minutes.

"Let's go". Bo whispered and pulled on Lauren. They walked hand in hand, down the stairs, at the door while Bo locked it, and to the passenger side of her car.

"I worked day and night in the labs. I was allowed a few breaks to eat. But I had to eat in the Ash throne room for the first year. Then I was given my loft. Well, their loft. That was my life. In and out of the lab, when I wasn't seeing Nadia, that is. I never looked at a Fae as possible date material. Some of those women were the uppiest women you will ever find anywhere. Then I met you. You are young, caring, warm. Not even bothered or impressed by the Fae and their politics. Then I fell in love with you. I'm home. I'm where I want to be. There's nothing or no one out there in the world that can give me what you do. A home". Lauren spoke softly as they drove.

Bo listened as she drove. Parts of her openly blushed but not the parts Lauren could see at the moment. "Thank you. You're my home too." She pulled to a stop light and used both hands to kiss Lauren's hand.

Lauren watched the moment and almost cried. To the outside world, a Fae was bowing to a human. But to Lauren, Bo is hers. All of Bo is. They obviously had to spend time together for the Fae stuff. But the times they spent alone weren't just about Fae stuff. It was about them heading towards what they are now. This beautiful being of a woman can have anyone that she wants, and she wants her. Lauren Lewis.

"Lauren?". Bo said softly.

"Huh?". Lauren jumped.

"I've been holding my hand for you to take for some time now. The valet is ready to park the car too". Bo stood beside the car.

"I am so, so sorry". Lauren blushed as she stepped out with Bo's help.

The women strolled arm and arm down the sidewalk. They'd already picked where to eat but wanted time for them, just for them a little while longer. Bo smiled as Lauren spoke on everything that she saw. She is elated for the Doctor. She gets to do things that had been taken away from her for years. So, she didn't mind the blonde's ramblings. "It's time to get you fed".

"I'm sorry". Lauren stopped.

"No. We will do this again. As much and as often as you like". Bo turned around and they walked back to the restaurant.

The ladies were seated and given their menus. "I'm in the mood for some wine too". Lauren spoke up.

"I can't pronounce any of these, so I'll let you pick one". Bo smiled at the menu.

"It will be a good one, I promise". Lauren squeezed Bo's hand.

Lauren ordered a steak and Bo ordered her burger. The Succubus looked around. The restaurant is swanky and casual. She spotted a few people trying to have eye sex with her and she adamantly declined. "You're beautiful. They can't help themselves". Lauren smiled into her next bite.

"Apparently". Bo shrugged.

"But you are also mine. They can always look. They just can't touch". Lauren winked over the table.

Bo had never felt so naked and devoured while fully clothed in her life.

The women ate the rest of the meal talking about whatever popped into their heads. Once dessert came, they split a cake with another bottle of wine.

"I think it's safe to say you will be driving us away from here". Lauren smiled from across the table.

"Come here". Bo whispered.

"In here?". Lauren looked around.

"Okay. I will come there then". Bo set her glass down and rounded the table. She took a seat and pulled Lauren to her. "Whatever you do, don't pull back until I give you the signal that I am about to pull back". Bo kissed her.

Lauren moaned at the taste and kissed her back. After a few seconds, she felt something enter her mouth and it wasn't Bo's tongue. It was cool and tasty. Her mind started to clear up from being tipsy. Bo squeezed her hand and she squeezed back.

"Are you better? ''. Bo panted against the Doctor's forehead.

"Better than ever". Lauren smiled.

"Good because we are still going dancing". Bo rounded the table again and took her seat. They finished the wine and paid the tab.

"We are going to have a wonderful time". Bo cooed as they stood waiting for her car.

The women perked up. "This isn't my car". Bo glared at the valet.

"Your car was taken. This one was put in its place." The valet replied.

"What the fuck?! Bo screamed.

"Bo, look". Lauren pointed inside the car.

"Enjoy yourselves-Mom. A note hung from the rearview mirror.

"It's a nice car". Lauren looked up at Bo.

"I liked my old car. But we can deal with that tomorrow. Tonight is still ours". Bo climbed inside and the new car smell is wonderful.

"Your car can be spotted, anywhere. She probably wanted to surprise you". Lauren rubbed Bo's hand.

"She probably did. But she better have my old car". Bo started the engine and they drove off.

"Not that one. The line is out the door." Lauren shook her head.

"Oh sweetie. Lines mean nothing to me." Bo parked the car and climbed out. They walked to the head of the line and Lauren went first after Bo coerced the man to let them inside.

"Bo, that really wasn't necessary. We could have found another spot". Lauren turned to the woman.

"Look at this dancefloor. We will have plenty of room. You deserve the best and being mate to a Succubus will provide you with the best". Bo's eyes flashed blue.

Lauren nodded knowing the Succubus was probably still at the surface after seeing her car had been taken. They ordered some drinks and waited for the floor to die down a little. "Oh, that's my song". Lauren perked up.

Bo smiled as she was pulled. Lauren turned and pulled Bo closer to her. The music was slow but fast. They danced in silence but the warmth of their bodies spoke volumes.

For Bo, the room was spinning. She is happy beyond any words she could put together. To a doctor it would probably sound like she's mumbling. "You're enough". Lauren squeezed Bo out of her self doubts.

Bo closed her eyes and rested her head on Lauren's shoulders. They danced for a long time before Bo finally realized the music had stopped.

"Lauren? The music has stopped". Bo whispered.

"I know. I was letting you take all the time that you need". Lauren pulled back.

Bo looked around and the place was almost empty, besides a few people at the bar.

"How long has it been?". Bo asked.

"A little over two hours". Lauren pulled Bo to get something to drink.

"Oh shit. How embarrassing". Bo slapped her forehead.

"Easy. Nobody cares or pointed fingers in laughter". Lauren smiled as she handed Bo a beer.

"It's still embarrassing." Bo shrugged.

"Who really cares Bo? We were doing what we wanted. It's nobody's business if the music stopped or was loud." Lauren looked around.

"You are right. I shouldn't and don't care". Bo clinked her glass against Lauren's and set it on the bar. "You want to dance again?".

"Sure". Lauren followed the woman to the floor. Bo started dancing without waiting for Lauren to join her. Soon they were joined by new people that had entered the building.

"Hello gorgeous". Bo heard. She growled and gently pulled a woman away from Lauren. "She's mine". Lauren smiled and nodded in agreement. The woman frowned but walked away with a little more force than she had walked up with.

The Dal.

Trick paced back and forth. Dyson had been gone for what almost feels like a week. He listened for two sets of feet. Silence. He paced harder. Aife is crazy. He needs to stop her. She can't possibly be thinking of doing what she suggested. To disturb the order by trying to get his wife back. He scratched the top of his head.

He turned and he heard someone coming. "I got nothing Trick. No scent. No leads. It's like the Valkyrie's disappeared." Dyson took a seat. His legs felt like noodles. He had been running all over town all day.

"Did you ask the Morrigan?". Trick asked.

"Didn't even get a chance to. They know me too well over there". Dyson took a drink.

"For pete's sake". Trick walked over to the phone. "I need to see you". He spoke into the Morrigan's voicemail.

"You better tell me why your help is sniffing around the Dark Fae compound. I'll gladly put him down myself the next time he comes". The Morrigan spoke from behind them.

Trick dropped the phone. "That's not telling me why". The Morrigan stood far away from them.

"I need Tamsin, now". Trick spoke up.

"Why?". The Morrigan asked.

"Evony, please. I need Tamsin. It's important". Trick walked closer. The woman moved backwards.

"I already know Aife is running rampant. If I can't control that bitch what makes you think I would even care about where Tamsin is? The Morrigan half laughed. She laughed harder thinking of Aife. That bitch is a bitch with a capital B.

"Evony, now you have got to tell me when you are coming to bust his balls. I'd hand you a stick. A little one". Aife walked in.

"Damn girl. You pop up everywhere. I just spotted your car down the street". The Morrigan laughed.

"I need Tamsin! Not to watch girl talk!". Trick screamed.

"What crawled up his ass?". The Morrigan looked to Aife.

"Probably a threat I made earlier." Aife laughed.

"Nice dress. Is it new?". Evony asked.

"Now. You know women never tell where we get our shit from". Aife laughed.

"Enough!". Trick threw a glass.

"This is so much fun. Let's talk about sex next. He'll probably bust a vein in his neck and die". Aife's eyes flashed blue as she laughed again.

"What's going on?". Bo asked.

"Join the fun babies". Aife waved them over.

"We came to get a few bottles of Lauren's favorite Vodka. Nothing more". Bo raised her hand and walked behind the bar.

Dyson growled at the sight of Lauren. "Trick. Call him off or you will be dropping him off at the medical examiner's office. Oh, that's Lauren!". Bo smiled as her eyes turned blue.

"Dyson, go home. Now!". Trick screamed.

"I thought you wanted me to find Tamsin". Dyson scoffed.

"Why do you need a Valkyrie?". Lauren asked.

"Lauren?." Bo asked.

"A Valkyrie can go to and from Valhalla. A Fae underworld." Lauren answered.

"Who died? Not Kenzi." Bo swerved around.

"No. Not Kenzi". Dyson spoke.

"Home, Dyson. Don't make me tell you again!". Trick screamed.

"I smell something fishy. Something that concerns me". Bo pulled Lauren step for step with her.

"I suggested that mom might want to come back. He's been enraged ever since." Aife explained.

"Why would the Queen want to come back?". Lauren asked.

"Shit, is that why you want Tamsin? You should have said so old boy. Give me ten seconds". The Morrigan laughed. She had always been fond of Queen Isabeau. But she never got to meet the Queen. If this is her chance, she's going to take it.

An hour later Tamsin strolled into the bar. "Why am I here?".

"You are Dark Fae. You don't ask questions. You follow orders. Mine. Now this bitch here wants to see if the Queen is willing to return. You are going to take them to find out". The Morrigan explained.

"It's been years. I can't guarantee their safe return". Tamsin shook her head.

"She's right she can't but Isabeau can". Aife replied.

"She's in Valhalla. She can't guarantee that either." Tamsin walked backwards. Aife has always made her nervous as hell.

"Not that Isabeau, fool". Aife turned towards Bo.

"I can? How?". Bo spat out.

"Your blood. Your father is very powerful. You can do anything that you want. All you need to do is go with Tamsin and slip these on". Aife pulled some old shoes from her pocket.

"I'm not going anywhere without Lauren. But I would like to meet my grandmother". Bo looked the shoes over.

"She's your mate. She can go with you. Why do you think I went to the Norn to get Dyson's mate transferred to her?". Aife laughed.

"No!." Dyson growled.

"Dyson, if you don't go, I will write you going home in my blood". Trick shook his head.

"You better hope he doesn't sneeze. He could write your balls out of existence". Aife smiled. The wolf threw his arms up and finally walked out.

"Lauren, do you really want to go?". Bo asked.

"If we can shower first." Lauren replied. She had heard of Valhalla but never got this close to it.

"We'll all go and shower". Aife stepped forward.

"Follow them Tamsin but give them as much privacy as they need." The Morrigan ordered her. "Aife you better not screw me over".

"Now would I do that? The old Succubus laughed.

"Come on Lauren. Let's get home, showered, and ready to go". Bo allowed Lauren to walk out in front of her.
