"It's a girl, Princess Royal!"

"Congratulations, Princess Royal!"

Huang Huiwen tiredly looked at her daughter with a tired smile. The wrinkly baby, red and dark but had a pair of lungs as she cried for the world to be aware of her existence, "My daughter… my Beiyue…. Welcome to the world…"

The wail of the newborn was the answer.

Dark obsidian eyes watched a man with his three Concubines while praising his children but ignoring her.

There is no trace of envy, jealousy, or anything in those eyes. Just blankness but it's deep and held no ripple. Like watching a particular bland scene. It's piercing in her eyes but not in the way others would assumed. Polygamy is common in this world, having only one partner is incredibly rare if not, uncommon. However, someone like her, sharing your spouse, your lover to others, it did not sit well with her.

The little girl left without much of a glance back.

Returning to the study of Princess Royal Huiwen to read quietly. No servant would dare to intrude here, even at the absence of Huang Huiwen as she was summoned at the Palace by the Empress Dowager.

Just a month ago, having a test in aptitude but came out a Trash with defective dantian, one that cannot cultivate. Huang Huiwen was a well known Genius, for her to have a defective daughter is unacceptable and became the source of talk for the whole Country. A shame to her good name.

Nanyi Country's Trash

That's the name that she suddenly saddled. And a god awful one at that. The shame of the Princess Royal's Reputation.

The girl amidst the ridicule, is unfazed.

That night, Huang Huiwen had embraced her tightly, "Beiyue, my daughter, I won't let anyone bully you." Her mother had promised.

Huang Beiyue really wondered if that really is the case. Otherwise, would they be in this situation? Huang Beiyue is no fool. She can tell that Huang Huiwen is deceiving herself. 'If I pretend to not see it, it does not exist.' Otherwise, the slow growing of audaciousness of the servants would have not gone unpunished. Huang Beiyue is a Princess of the Second Rank, a title conferred to her by the Emperor. Unless someone is pulling the strings form behind who was backed by another mysterious backer that could somehow offset the Imperial Family's Power, it wouldn't have been possible. Politics and Schemes probably. And Huang Huiwen can see those strings but pretend they weren't there. The strings not unlike Waning Moon 5's own Murderous Eye Basket threatening to trap both of them to death. Huang Huiwen seemingly lost will to live. A lover probably died, likely, her biological father, otherwise, she would not have those eyes.

The same eyes that person had. Carrying the same emotions in them.

So blank and empty, those burgundy eyes were, the same eyes that mourned for his dead wife and unborn child. Someone who was depraved a purpose in the world.

Whatever driving force Huang Huiwen still had to continue living, Huang Beiyue only occupied the small corner of it. It was obvious the moment the opening shows itself… roughly 3 years after her guess, of which the bullying grew more and more outrageous, even servants dared to raise their hand.

Huang Beiyue did nothing however, she also did not allow them to land a hit on her but their neglect, trash or not, illegitimate or not, Huang Beiyue carried the surname of the Imperial Family, and that alone is enough to dragged them all to be intimate with the Executioners' Blade on their necks.

Even so, Huang Beiyue, closed her eyes and pretend to not see it, at least for now.

Huang Beiyue was summoned and kept to the Palace by the Empress Dowager. The shroud of dread, unease, but also long awaited, expected event seemed to loomed over her.

"Brother... ?"

"What is it?"

"Mother had passed away..."

"W-What did you just say?!"

Huang Beiyue later returned home.

Huang Huiwen is dead.

It just snapped in place. The mask carried for the sake of it just broke.

"Halt." Huang Beiyue spoke, cold and indifferent, however, not without regality and authority. The aura she had kept surpressed surge forth to command the room. Freezing all servants in place.

"Send the message to Imperial Uncle. Mother has passed away. Send in for Uncle Geng. Commit a thorough investigation! Tell Prince Xiaoyao to come to Princess Royal Mansion and take responsibility!" Huang Beiyue allowed her voice, even young, to pierce through their brains and hearts. The master of Princess Royal Mansion is dead, as the Heir, Huang Beiyue must established herself to be the one in charge and in control, "Anyone other than the message to leave the Mansion, break their dantian and break their legs, detain them, no one shall leave the courtyard until Imperial Uncle is here otherwise, face the accusation of assassinating the Princess Royal!"

It sure did enough.

"You, bring Lord Xiao, the Concubines, and the Concubine Children here. The rest of you, kneel down!" Huang Beiyue swept her gazes at them, murderous and cold. The aura of dread and killing intent oozing out of the door and into the courtyard.

No one dared to move.

"Dongling, come here."

"Y-Yes, Princess!" The meek peach haired maid came over.

"If anyone make a sound or dare to stand up, tell me, they will be flogged to death." Huang Beiyue said with emphasis before making her way to where she knew the culprit yet to dispose of the evidence.

Huang Beiyue came back with blood on her cheek, dragging Concubine Xue who was beaten bloody and with dislocated jaw, on one hand, an empty bowl, behind her, trembling guards dragging the equally beaten up servants tied in ropes with gags on their mouths.

This sight horrified the servants, Huang Beiyue ruthlessly tossed Concubine Xue on the ground, she went over to her chair and placed the bowl down as she sat down, "Dongling, clean my hands, I touched something filthy just now."

Dongling immediately did as her Princess just said. Wondering why the Princess suddenly seemed to have changed when she is so indifferent and blank as before.

Perhaps, the death of Princess Royal Huiwen changed the Princess…

Huang Beiyue is no mere child. She was once Tsugikuni Mitchikatsu the Moon Pillar. Later on, under the unforgiving captive of misplaced jealousy, envy, and resentment became Waxing Moon One, Kokushibu.

Mitchikatsu is a jealous being. That jealousy and envy out of blindness had ruined him to the point of nothing left remains.

Waxing Moon One, the second most strongest Demon after Muzan. And probably also the second most disgusting and most evil creature.

This must be karma.

After all, born in a prestigious family, second to the Imperial Family. A very talented and highly regarded woman, Princess Royal Huiwen, yet had no talent in cultivation.

Being reborn with memories intact, it was unexpected for Kokushibu then, Huang Beiyue now. Was this to make her repent or to punish her? A strange hell?

A protective and loving mother who had conditional and limited love, no twin, no Yoriichi.

"Aniue..."

.

A mansion full of disdainful servant but one who's too loyal to even shake off. A family that even kicked someone when down. Kokushibu can see it, specially to her 'older siblings'. Mitchikatsu wears Yoriichi's shoes and the current 'older siblings' wore Mitchikatsu. What a bitter and vile taste in his mouth, more so than the Wisteria poison that Kokushibu once drank out of sheer curiosity on the effects it would have on him as Waxing Moon One.

Kokushibu is like watching everything within the Princess Royal Mansion's House, in some twisted way, through Yoriichi's view point. And Kokushibu, who had no patience for children and their shenanigans, let it was so unpleasant to indulge any of the Xiao Children's whims. A wonder as to why Yoriichi had no drawn his sword to skewer Mitchikatsu or at least hit him. Though the repercussion at that time would be severe as Kokushibu can see now as Huang Beiyue. Was this how Yoriichi grew tolerance and patience? Huang Beiyue only felt her own shortened. And expectedly yet abnormally fast.

Perhaps Kokushibu had used up all his luck in his past life, he was saddled with a scumbag father with two greedy concubines and one neutrally cowardly one. Not only that, there are siblings too, half siblings however, who is Kokushibu? Someone that could even distinguished his own descendant 400 years since he had abandoned his Family? This close proximity, he was very certain, they had no relation. The cold relationship between Princess Royal and Xiao Yuancheng, they couldn't even put up a façade fto the public? The contempt of Old Man Xiao, the disdain and disgust of Xiao Yuancheng to Huang Beiyue? She is not their blood, it's very certain.

That means Huang Huiwen had an affair with someone. More or less Xiao Yuancheng and the Old Man Xiao is aware but because of the obvious backlash more to the Xiao Family Tha to Huang Huiwen herself and likewise, Imperial Family, they held their tongue.

To them, Huang Beiyue is nothing but an eyesore. Simply hypocritical, after all, Xiao Yuancheng took in three concubines and it was Huang Huiwen's money that feed, cloth, and sheltered these fools yet they still dared to do this.

Humans, ah, so complicated. Kokushibu had spent more time as a demon than he had as a human, demons are straightforward on their own way. Though they seemed complicated to Demon Slayers let alone ordinary humans, despite various tricks, demons to other demons are straightforward enough. Aside from Muzan who likes being a Drama Queen and play mind games as he is cowardly. Less demons are complicated and played games but most of them died. Bit off more than they can chew.

Going back to the topic at hand, [Huang Huiwen and the mysterious lover than is possibly Huang Beiyue's Biological Father] its social suicide to some of Huang Huiwen's status, to Huang Beiyue's but the woman took the risk still. For what? Love? Revenge? Pettiness? Kokushibu cannot understand. For while he has a wife that he had married out of convenience and later on abandoned her with his children to became a Demon Slayer, not looking back once. He was a scoundrel, Tsugikuni Mitchikatsu admits that, not that he actually bothered to think about it. However, he was so low enough to have a lover or anything the jealousy and competitiveness as well as Demon Slayers living on literally burrowed time. Even if he could jot, for the life of him, remember her face and name, along with their children, she was the only woman he had married, laid with, and shared his home with. There was no love it was just our of duty as the Heir, Mitchikatsu had ensured that his son, his Eldest, is to be Heir and will be provided with everything he needs and wants, will not be lesser than what Mitchikatsu had, this goes the same with his wife and second born. Even so, Michikatsu admits he is no father and will likely be categorized as a Cheap and trashy one. It's like he and Xiao Yuancheng belong on the same category, it fills his mouth with sourness just by thinking about it.

So how to understand why Princess Royal did what she did? Not asking for a Divorce that the Emperor, given how favored Huang Huiwen was, would grant without much of a blink had she had bothered. However, there was no sound, Princess Royal clamp her mouth shut, so did Old Man Xiao and Xiao Yuancheng. That means there is another scheme at play. Ha... How complicated.

So... What was the saying again? 'Cockhold the man that cockholded you' or something. Kokushibu must be wrong, he had only heard in passing on one of the off chance in passing the former Waxing Four's Territory when Kokushibu is on his way to slay him and take his rank, to climb up the Waxing Ranks of the Kizuki.

However, one is certain.

Tsugikuni Mitchikatsu in this life Huang Beiyue, is a bastard child. Ah, fate slapped him in the face hard with a sledge hammer.

[Yoriichi, I want to be you!] the jealous filled tantrum like rage he had howled once upon a time the opening that Muzan took advantage of and he himself foolishly got manipulated with. It seems like it was fulfilled in an twisted way. It seems like, in this life, Tsugikuni Mitchikatsu became a cracked and deformed but still reflection of Tsugikuni Yoriichi. And it wasn't what he really wanted. So Hollow, to empty.

A prick of the finger, should have easily ignored, caught her attention.

Huang Beiyue looked at her finger that was paper cut, the laceration healed instantly. A mocking smile on her lips, 'In a twisted way,' the words left her lips, so full of venom and disgust.

[I pity you, my brother.] Yoriichi once told him this.

Mitchikatsu was blind in his emotions to see what Yoriichi's expression and his eyes mean at that time, his words, despite having three pairs of eyes.

Suddenly, those expressions made a lot more sense.

Specially now that Mitchikatsu walks the same shoes, even if the shoes is differently shapes than his younger twin brother.

"Truly, jealously only allows own to see what they want to see in a distorted pair of glasses. One can never really know what it feels like unless you wear the shoes they wore." Huang Beiyue closed the book and looked out to the moon outside the window, "Brother, how come you, even once in your life, actually punched me in the face? But only took my undeserving actions? You're really a Saint. My view was too distorted, I was too close minded…I lost, from the very beginning, there was no chance of me winning." Huang Beiyue closed her eyes and breathed in and out, opening them, in the dark, if there was someone in the room, they could've seen the light flickered of her eyes that turned dark burgundy shade, leaning more to purple than red, the red mark on her forehead and diagonally to her chin. It was gone, like it was just an illusion.

Back to the Present

"His Majesty the Emperor has arrived!"

Huang Beiyue opened her eyes at the announcement form the servant.
