Counter Strike

Ryuu stared out into the gulf at the ships. The fliers were all resting and refilling their chakra. While they were, they were vulnerable.

"So, I have permission to trash everything, right?" Ryuu asked.

"You sure that won't kill anyone?" Shikamaru asked. "You only volunteered under that condition, right?"

"Don't worry about that," Ryuu smiled. "I'll give them all the chance to evacuate the ships while I'm trashing their fliers. Just make sure the rest of you are there to catch them all when they run away."

Shikamaru nodded. "Everyone's in position now. Once you start your attack, we'll be ready."

Ryuu nodded. "I'm going in now, then. I want some time off, so the sooner we deal with this, the sooner that can happen. Oh, and I'm going to start by sinking a ship to get their attention. Be ready."

Shikamaru nodded and Ryuu turned, extending his wings and drawing his tanto. Then, he took off, streaking out onto the water rapidly. A siren began to blare from the lead ship, so Ryuu sped up, streaking to the first ship and forming hand seals quickly, activating his Sharingan.

"Water Style, Water Dragon Wall!" Ryuu shouted.

Dozens of Water Dragons exploded up from below the ship, blasting through it and ripping it apart in moments. Once finished, the Water dragons held the pieces afloat, allowing the shinobi in the ship to flee rapidly before they released them and allowed the ship to sink. Ryuu shot into the sky and waited, both of the remaining ships deploying multiple fliers as they began to flee. Ryuu shot downward, zipping past the fliers before diving into the water, streaking past the ships' propellers and destroying them, stranding both ships. Then, he rose out of the water just in time to destroy three fliers, the shinobi using them crashing down hard in the water, but surviving. Instantly, both ships began to deploy every flier they had, the sky quickly beginning to get crowded, only for Ryuu to begin to flicker, several more spreading outward from him, quickly dropping the fliers, not killing any of them. He glanced down as he was fighting, seeing the fallen pilots swimming toward the gulf's exit, only for Kakashi to form a massive Earthen Rampart, sealing them in. Ryuu smirked, flipping over a barrage of kunai, slamming his foot into the center of the flier and smashing it.

Ryuu glanced down at the remaining ships as the fliers began to streak downward. The ships were suddenly lined with shinobi who all held kunai launchers. Ryuu huffed. Not a bad strategy. They all began to fir into the air, quickly filling the sky with kunai both flying upward and raining back down. However, the kunai passed through Ryuu harmlessly. Their own fliers weren't so lucky, and within a few moments they were forced to stop after several fliers broke from kunai stabbing into them. Then, the Ryuus dropped, crashing down on the fliers, and within a few moments, they had finished cleaning them up. Ryuu smirked, turning to the two remaining ships.

"Now then," Ryuu said. "What to do about you."

He began to form hand seals, but before he could finish, a massive beam of golden chakra shot by in front of him from the left, hitting both ships and exploding, the blast taking up most of the gulf and shattering Kakashi's Earthen Rampart. Ryuu reappeared on shore beside Fu, having only barely escaped the blast, and stared at the smoke filling the air.

"What the fuck was that!?" Ryuu demanded.

"I...I don't know," Fu said. "Looks like everyone's been rounded up."

Ryuu looked around, nodding as he saw that she was right. All of the shinobi who hadn't been on those ships when they were blasted was tied up and sitting in a massive group, besides a handful that were being brought to the rest. He sighed. He hadn't killed anyone this time.

"You did really well," Fu said.

"Thanks," Ryuu smiled, slipping his hand into hers. "Come on. Let's find a place to sit."

"Why?" Fu asked.

"Because I want to hold my girlfriend without standing," Ryuu said.

Fu smiled and nodded, following him over to a pile of large rocks, Ryuu climbing up onto one of them before Fu climbed up into his lap, sitting sideways and resting her head on his shoulder. After a few minutes, Kakashi left a pair of clones to watch the Sky Ninja as he and the others all headed over to join them, in this case meaning himself, Shikamaru, Sai, and Shino.

"You work fast," Shikamaru said.

"Thanks," Ryuu said, just as Yomo appeared on his unoccupied shoulder with a scroll on his leg. Ryuu took the scroll and read it, petting Yomo absentmindedly. "Naruto's gotten himself into another fine mess. Apparently, he found a flying castle, the Sky Ninja's base, and is fighting their leader and something called the Zero-Tails inside. It should be heading this way. Tsunade wants us to intercept it when it gets here if necessary."

"Figures," Shikamaru said, sitting on another rock, Sai doing the same while Kakashi and Shino stood off tot he side.

"What's the Zero-tails?" Sai asked. "Is it one of the Tailed Beasts I've never heard of?"

"Chomei says he's never heard of it," Fu said.

"You know anything Isobu?" Ryuu asked the Three-tails.

"It's not one of us," Isobu said. "I've never heard of it either."

"Isobu doesn't know anything about it either," Ryuu said. "It's probably some kind of demon that wanted to sound more dangerous or something."

"Makes sense," Kakashi said.

After nearly an hour of waiting the castle finally drifted into view, exploding and with pieces falling off of it quickly.

"Naruto," Ryuu guessed, the others nodding.

"He's not stopping is he?" Kakashi asked as almost a quarter of the castle was blasted off and crashed down in the water outside the gulf.

"Because he's stupid," Sai sighed.

"It's coming straight for us," Shino noted.

"We should probably run for it," Shikamaru said.

"Mm, probably," Kakashi grunted, no one bothering to move at all.

Pieces of debris continued to fall in a trail across the water as Kakashi and Shino finally sat down, Shikamaru lounging back on his rock against a taller one behind him.

"What is that?" Neji's voice suddenly asked from the short cliff above them as he, Yamato, Sakura, and Choji arrived to help them transport the prisoners back to the Leaf.

"Neji, can you see anyone?" Yamato asked.

"Heh, don't go wasting your Byakugan on this one," Shikamaru snorted.

"Oh yeah," Kakashi agreed.

"It's the usual dunce," Ryuu said.

Just then, gold chakra began to flash out of the fortress in massive tongues of flame-like light for several seconds before the entire thing erupted into a massive fireball. Ryuu sighed, slipping out from under Fu as Naruto plummeted out of the fort. Ryuu extended his wings and shot into the air, watching as Amaru leapt out of a flying ship off to the side with a flier, flying after Naruto, only to jump out of it in order to catch him, thus ending up clinging to him as they both fell toward their impending deaths.

"Jeez," Ryuu sighed. "She's almost as stupid and impulsive as he is."

He grabbed them both by the back of their shirts and slowed to a stop, holding them both out in front of himself, Amaru currently hugging Naruto's head between her breasts.

"You two are probably the biggest idiots I've ever met," Ryuu smirked as Amaru released Naruto, blushing scarlet.

"Thanks for the catch," Naruto smiled.

Ryuu sighed heavily and quickly shifted his grip to hold Amaru around the waist so he didn't end up pulling her shirt up, then flew both to the ground. Naruto, beaten to a pulp as he was, collapsed almost instantly, only for Amaru to catch him, laying him down with his head in her lap. Ryuu looked up just as Fu set the ship Hinata and Amaru's villagers were in down on the ground, apparently having cut its wings off and flown it down herself, and Hinata ran over to them, arriving at the same time as Sakura.

"Naruto!" Sakura growled. "You idiot!"

Naruto opened his eyes and smiled knowingly, before it faded and he looked over to Hinata. "Hinata, are you alright?"

Hinata flushed dark red but nodded. "I-I'm alright, N-Naruto. But, what about you?"

"I'm fine," Naruto smiled. "Nothing a couple days rest won't fix."

"You realize, of course, there are three extremely skilled Medical Ninja here who could each fix your face in a few minutes at most, right?" Ryuu asked. "Although, this might be an improvement."

Naruto rolled his eyes. "Very funny. But I think your math is off. I only see Sakura and Fu for skinned Medical Ninja."

"Funny," Ryuu smirked. "Alright, have it your way. You can stay like that then."

"No, wait!" Naruto said as Ryuu walked away with Sakura. "I was just kidding! Come on guys!"

Everyone laughed and Ryuu and Sakura joined Fu and the others at the rocks, Ryuu wrapping his arms around Fu.

"So, what happened?" Ryuu asked.

"Well," Sakura asked. "At Amaru's village, Doctor Shinno got shot with a bunch of kunai traps and died. Then, when we were searching for Amaru's villagers, Hinata went missing. I guess she must have been caught by someone. Me and Naruto found Amaru at the ruin he just blew up, but Amaru was possessed by this big purple leech thing calling itself the Zero-tails, and Naruto had to use the Nine-tails' chakra to fight it. Then he and Amaru went inside the ruin and it started flying."

Ryuu nodded. "At least everyone's safe, I guess."

Sakura nodded, and after a little while, Ryuu walked back over to Naruto, healing him before they all headed home.
