Bickering Battles

"Give me the SHEIKAH SLATE!"

"No!"

Revali held the Sheikah Slate over Link's head which was entirely effective since Link was incredibly short. Revali held it in a taunting way since he was much taller than Link. They stood in a dark hallway lined with faint glowing red lights. Nothing except darkness and the eerie red light was in sight.

"Come on Revali, I know we're lost but-" Link pleaded, holding his hands together in front of him.

"You said that right was the 'right' way to go! And now we're lost thanks to you." Revali scoffed and lowered the Sheikah Slate to his side, glaring down at Link.

"Well, it always worked for me." Link pointed out and gave a triumphant smile.

Revali's face was unimpressed. His eyes narrowed, "Those were corn mazes...and you got lost anyway."

"Uh...no. There were...um those Zonai things. Mazes? Yeah, those things. In the forest...no, the mountains. Wait were they in the-" Link jabbered on trying to come up with an explanation.

"Pfft, I was with you. You idiot. Do you not remember those childish corn mazes your father set up to 'recreate adventure'?" Revali rolled his eyes.

Link's eyes darted up to the Sheikah Slate, ignoring Revali's snide remark. With a flash, Link leapt up attempting to snatch the Sheikah Slate from Revali's hand.

He failed.

"Nuh uh." Revali shook his feathered finger at Link in a taunting way.

"Give it!" Link leaped up for it again. "Or else."

Revali snickered. "Or else what?"

"Or else..." Link paused "um or else..."

"How typical, you can't even make up a threat." Revali rolled his eyes. "For the Great Prince of Hyrule you surprise me."

"Well, I can surprise you IF you give me the Sheikah Slate." Link growled. "After all I'm the only person that knows how to use it."

"Oh, so you think that I, 'The Great Rito Warrior' can't figure it out? Let's see." Revali lifted the Sheikah Slate to his beak, skimming the black screen with his puny green eyes.

Quickly, he fumbled blindly around the rim of it looking for something to turn it on.

"Ah, ha!" Revali gave a triumphant caw as the screen came to life with a blue Sheikah eye flashing a dark blue.

"Well, nothing can stop me! I am the greatest. I am the best. I am-" Revali held his winged hand proudly over his feathery chest not noticing the change in the Slate.

Revali didn't notice that the light had changed from blue to red. It burst with a magical yet haunting crimson that seeped through the cracks in the tiled floor.

"Um, Revali!" Link yelled in a panicked tone.

"What-WHA!" Revali screamed like a small child as he dropped the Sheikah Slate in alarm.

The light seemed to pierce both of their eyes with its blinding crimson. The very crimson that reminds Link of blood.

"TURN IT OFF!" Revali yelled at Link hastily thrusting the red-stricken Sheikah slate into Link's hands.

It started to emit a strange screaming noise that must have been an alert. Link dropped down on his knees scrambling to silence it. With nimble fingers, Link desperately pressed the screen as his eyes scanned it. The usually beautiful Sheikah Eye was flashing with the unusual red color. Link fumbled around trying to desperately think of any way to turn it off. Perhaps the extensive reading of those stupid books would pay off.

(Sheikah Slate. How do turn it off. Oh, Hylia what was it?)

Impa didn't teach him how since she didn't trust him with it.

Not his mother...like she would make time to spend with him!

(Purah!)

Purah was the only one that taught him the ways of the Sheikah Slate. Of course, under extreme supervision but none the less she had taught him. With actual laughing and being lenient on rules. It was nice to have at least one kind person in the castle though he hadn't seen her in a long time...

"Dear, Hylia Linky! Press the eyeball thingy. SNAP OUT OF IT! Stop swinging it around like that! Impa is going to kill me if she finds out!" Purah's voice from all those years ago yelled through his thick skull.

Link still remembered her big brown eyes peering at him through her eccentric red glasses that were constantly sliding off the tip of her tiny nose. A streak of red was painted on her pure white hair and her tan lab coat was still vivid in his mind. Surprisingly enough she was in fact Impa's older sister. When he first learned this fact, it surprised him so much he had passed out.

It was an old memory but a useful one at that. Even from the Royal Tech Lab she was still looking out for him.

Link's eyes snapped open.

It was as if time slowed down around him and all the distracting noises faded. Revali's screaming and crazed state faded. The Sheikah Slate blaring in his ears. The Beast chiming in with the occasional creepy mechanical sounds.

(Wait, eyeball thing?)

Link flipped the Sheikah Slate over. His gaze settled on the eccentric looking eye of the slate. It didn't take a genius to fit two and two together.

With a press of a button, it was silenced.

But that was only the beginning of their problems...

A bloodcurdling roar sent Link 10 inches into the air and his hands began to shake at the sound of it. Revali turned around, his hysterical state diminishing immediately. Though the Slate was quiet and restrained, nothing stopped the roar from echoing across the hallway.

(Oh no...)

A weird monster thingy was across the room, staring at them with its crazed eye sliding from him to Revali. Black muck dripped slowly to the floor as some sort of ancient materiel was stuck to its skin.

"Ew..." Link heard himself unconsciously mumble.

"Is that really all you have to say? Typical." Revali scoffed even though there was a full out monster standing before them.

It gave a great a terrifying screech of triumph. With a wave of its muck tainted fingers, it made a whirling motion towards the pair.

"Is it really going to do a dance right now?" Link rolled his eyes and turned back to Revali.

"Stop being a wise-cracking idiot and start running you great lump of flesh!" Revali yelled at him, his sharp eyes wide in alertness and his bow clutched even tighter at his side.

Link turned around and saw a great typhoon coming straight towards him. It swirled with a haunting grey that showed no mercy as it hurtled towards him. The tornado ripped apart the walls and tore each tile up into its deadly winds. The monster screamed in delight as its cursed finger keep swirling in the air, somehow controlling the great tornado.

"Oh, Hylia..." Link mumbled, he couldn't make himself move as if he had glued him to those very tiles.

"Oh, Hylia is right. Now get a move on." Revali voice from behind him pierced Link's ears even over all the noise the typhon was making.

Link still didn't move as the typhon loomed closer to the foolish Prince.

A feathery hand grabbed the scruff of Link's shirt. Before Link even knew it, he had taken flight, being pulled along at incredible speeds down the tunnel. He felt like he was a ragdoll screaming at the top of his lungs at the sudden strange feeling of the air hitting his body. Revali's talons cut into his shoulders slightly though the snow quill tunic protected some of him.

"Hey!" Link tried to yell in defiance at the sudden grab.

"If you haven't taken notice of your surroundings, you have been saved from your own stupidity. Standing there rooted to the ground would have left you to be scooped up into some whirlwind." Link could hear the sarcasm layered in Revali's voice.

"Well-" Link started but to his fury, Revali cut him off.

"Just shut up for one minute and let me focus." Revali snapped at him.

"I should have just saved Zelda instead of you!" Revali sighed in annoyance.

"Well, you didn't." Link stuck out his tongue at Revali though he knew Revali couldn't see because of the high speed they were traveling at.

"Though you probably wouldn't ever survive on your own if I did save her instead of you." Revali commented as he tried to fly even faster.

"I bet I could." Link snorted at Revali's insulting comment.

"Would you like to test that theory?" Revali smirked and glared down at Link.

"Uh...no." Link hastily replied knowing that he would probably die on his own and to his great annoyance Revali was right.

"Do you think Zelda's okay?" Link looked up at Revali hopefully.

"Look, I don't know but knowing her type they tend to end up somewhat intact in the end." Revali rolled his eyes.

"Just how in Hyrule did she get that sword again?" Revali turned his head slightly to Link.

"Some crazy dream, with a weird old man challenging her or something like that. I wasn't really paying attention when she told me."

"So, some stupid dream just gave her it? How ironic." Revali scowled through gritted teeth.

"Why? Are you jealous?" Link said with a bit too much delight.

"Aren't those Hero's supposed to experience some hardship and have dead parents."

"She has a dead mother." Link sighed.

"Oh, so she has a dead mother. All of my family is dead." Revali let go of Link and landed on the tiles, his eyes flared up in anger.

"They died a peaceful death, didn't they? Just a quick disease, wasn't it?" Link raised his eyebrows at Revali and crossed his arms.

"Is that what your mother told you? She's a liar." Revali snapped at Link.

"But...that's what happened. She told me that-" Link sputtered.

"Oh really? My dad is dead because of your mother." Revali shouted at Link.

-Trigger Warning (suicidal content) Begins-

"He was told to head to the desert because the Queen was in 'distress'. After that night was over, Malus told my mom and me that my father had died for the Queen. I went to bed, crying my heart out and screaming in agony. Then I woke up to the smell of blood and a note from my mom." Revali finished without a single tear lingering in his eye.

-Trigger Warning Ends-

Only anger burned in his eyes.

"And you..." Revali said through gritted teeth.

"You had a mother...a mother maybe not a good one. But a mother at least. I would have done anything for a mother. One that would never leave me like my mother did. One that still took care of me maybe not love me but care for me. You never appreciated that. And that is something that disgusts me more than anything." Revali finished through gritted teeth.

The pair stared at each what it seemed like forever. With gritted teeth and clenched fists. Narrowed eyes and heavy breaths.

(So, that was his reason for hating me. Just because I have a mother. How stupid.)

"She never loved me." Link glared at Revali.

"Love isn't something you need in life. It hurts and takes, it only brought me pain. It is not something that will ever bring me happiness." Revali sighed.

"Then you live a sad life." Link snapped.

"Its funny how heartless you can be." Revali sneered.

"You're wrong."

"Am I though? You live in a castle, with people to obey your every whim and a mother that lets you live there. Zelda wrapped your wounds and not a single thank you left your lips. I saved you two times not a single acknowledgement or a time that you haven't said something snide."

"I may be imperfect but I'm not heartless, Revali."

"You have no idea how lucky you've got it" Revali spat at him and strode off down the hallway.

"But I don't." Link leaned forward and shouted at Revali.

"I beg to differ." Revali called over his shoulder.

"Lets just get this over with." Revali lifted his feathery head. "And then you can get your asinine face out of my land."

"Fine." Link spat.

(I will always hate him...)

"There's an elevator over there" Revali pointed ahead at a strange contraption that had light leaking through the top.

Link nodded with his eyes low the floor.

(In a way he was right. Apparently, he's more than just an arrogant idiot...)

Both of them walked in silence, nearing towards the light. Link had no idea what to do next. Oh yes, they were trying to tame the Beast. But his face still felt numb from the nasty quarrel and his heart felt heavy.

Link slid the Sheikah Slate out of his belt and held it front of him. A map of the Divine Beast showed up on the once black screen. The strange bird was outlined with a light blue and a large yellow circle was on top of the beast. Little tiny blue letters in the corner read.

'Vah Medoh.'

Was that the name of the beast? It must be.

(Divine Beast Vah Medoh)

Curious?

Link's eyes leapt back to the mechanical bird displayed on the screen. Two little dots were moving towards a contraption with the label 'elevator'. It must have been him and Revali.

But his eye caught two more dots that were farther away.

Both were sporadically moving and dancing around on a big room on the screen. Moving towards each other and then pulling away. Running around the room. That's weird?

His finger pressed on the room and then a menu popped up. A label told him it was the engineering room and another word stated 'analyze'.

He pressed 'analyze' and little blue words appeared on the screen.

'Male Hylian and female Hylian currently are occupying the engineering room. Speculation suggests that they either are performing the tango or are engaged in combat.'

(Probably the latter...)

(The female has to be Zelda! But who is the male? Who is she fighting? At least she is alive...)

"Come on get your head out of that Slate." Revali's voice entered his focused daze.

"Our ticket to taming this thing lies up there." Revali pointed up the elevator towards the light with a grinning face.

Link shoved the Slate back into his belt and glanced up to it.

"That's not an elevator it's a wind source." Link snorted as he saw the wind blowing up to the skies.

"Well, to Rito's it is." Revali smirked and waved a feathery hand, "an elevator".

"Tell me how exactly we are going to get up there." Link crossed his arms and tapped his foot like a young child.

"Exactly the same way we got away from that weird thing." Revali scoffed and gave a nasty smirk.

"No, I am not going to have your talons ripping into my shoulders again."

"Why not?" Revali laughed and before Link could yell, he grabbed Link's shoulders roughly with his talons.

Cold wind hit Link's body as he felt himself soaring up towards the skies. Soon he found himself back on the ground again except with the white skies above and grass planted under his feet.

"I hate it when you do that." Link grumbled as he glared at Revali.

"A thank you would suffice." Revali mocked Link.

Link's eyes swept over the terrain. Large pillars streaked up to the skies. Rain and wind had scarred the pillars so that their edges were blunted and the once-smooth edges of the pillars were wounded with cracks. Grass and stones littered the ground. This was an ancient ruin, heavy with the scent of age.

Oddly, the grass looked like it had been trimmed recently and fairly everything look like it had been in great care even though they weren't supposed to be an inhabitant living here. The trimmed hedges and grass were in sharp contrast to the stone ruins.

He felt strong whipping through his hair which reminded him that he was still miles above the earth. They were on the surface of Vah Medoh. The beast's surface was so large it could support this whole field and structure.

"Well, it looks like someone has been keeping up the place." Revali gave a dry chuckle.

Ahead of them was a strange ancient statue in the center of the area. It was painted a glowing orange, and it was made up of three circles that spiraled up to the skies.

Three Rito sculptures topped on each circle. A pedestal was positioned directly in front of it with a glowing Sheikah Eye on it.

"This is it!" Link cried excitedly "If I recall correctly if I place the Sheikah Slate on the pedestal it will be tamed. It will be ours!"

"Finally...I can finally rid this menace of the Rito's." Revali gave a happy sigh.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Do it!" Revali urged Link.

Link nodded quickly, before he took off after the pedestal. Revali flew up into the skies twirling around in a triumphant fashion. Revali looked like a navy-blue blur that painted the skies.

Link charged ahead. His honey blonde hair gleamed in the sunlight. His blue eyes lit up in excitement as he neared the structure with the Sheikah Slate in hand.

As he drew closer and closer the giddiness in his heart built up. At least he would finally do something right. This was it. One down four to go!

Then he was before it. His hand trembling with happiness as the Sheikah Slate shook violently. The Sheikah Eye was staring at him daring him. A big smile grew across his face.

"This is it." Link whispered as he placed the Slate atop the pedestal. Link felt his heart leapt in happiness.

Except it wasn't...

But then it shook violently.

Black muck spilled from the happy orange. Obliterating any happiness that was emitting from the pair. The black reached up to the sky, spilling out onto the pure grass.

The pedestal glowed a warm blue as if accepting the Slate. This was not it.

"Oh no..."

Link swiped the Slate off the pedestal. Watching in horror as the hopes and dreams of taming the beast melted away. It was too easy, and hope was broken so fast.

An expected cackle cut through the air...as usual.

"Great just great." Link heard Revali's scoff reach his ears.

Link turned around. Standing where he and Revali had entered was the same monster from earlier.

The monster gave a devilish chuckle as it leaned its head back and let its flaming red hair dangle in the air.

But its triumphant roar was short lived as three flaming blurs hit it square in its crazed blue eye.

It screamed in pain as it crumbled to the ground and started taking in heavy breaths. Black malice leaked onto the grass. It shook the ground as it landed flat on it stomach, curling in pain.

Link glanced up towards the sky.

Revali hovered with his great wings, his bow loaded and ready to strike again with his flaming bomb arrows. His sharp eyes slid to Link as he readied to let loose another set of arrows to bombard the beast.

But the monster was fast and prepared this time. It gave a horrifying screech. It swatted Revali out of the air with a simple swipe of its hand. The great warrior came tumbling out of the sky with a squawk.

The monster gave another frightening cackle, gleeful that it had wounded the Rito.

Revali was crumbled on the ground in a heap of stuck out feathers.

But his sharp eyes opened again, and his hate was now directed to the monster only a few feet away.

Link slid the Slate out his belt. Maybe he could do something with the Slate to defeat the monster that wounded Revali. The picture of Vah Medoh was taunting to him since it was still in the hands of evil. Then something caught his eye.

Revali leapt up with such determination that it would shake any warrior in their boots. That Rito's pride would not be shattered by a simple monster. He wouldn't allow himself to be defeated.

Revali quivered with rage. With all the strength he could muster, he sent himself into the sky with a great flap of his wings. His obnoxious scarf whipped in the wind.

Revali's bow was lit with his flame of revenge. It cut through the chilled eye as a twang echoed through the sky. The bomb arrow pierced the monster's eye as its cry of pain rang throughout the arena.

Link's eyes caught the words 'tilt' displayed on the Slate. He recalled when Zelda had disappeared into the darkness of the tunnel. Link thought that she was gone forever but she survived.

But that tunnel drop wouldn't be as painful as falling out of the sky.

Then he was struck with an idea just as Revali's arrows pierced the eye of the monster.

It was perfect.

"Revali, grab me!" Link shouted at Revali.

"What!" Revali yelled over the cry of the monster as it fell to the ground defeated.

"Quick, grab me!" Link yelled.

Revali nodded. Link winced as he felt Revali's powerful talons cut into his shoulders. Link was lifted off the grass and said goodbye to the steady ground.

Link felt a triumphant smile cross his face. It only grew as he pressed the button that would end the monster's life.

'Tilt'.

The familiar sound of machinery creaked in his ears as the Beast obeyed Link's command.

The monster gave a confused grunt as it felt the ground rumble. A screech filled the pairs ears as the beast started to tilt to the monster's doom. It couldn't do anything to prevent its fate as it began to slide down the grass. Towards the edge, to fall skyward.

It glanced up at the pair with anger in its eyes as it desperately clawed at the beast's tiling ground. Then it was sent falling over the edge hopefully to meet Demise at the bottom.

Link and Revali both gave a unified chuckle as they watch the monster become smaller and smaller as it tumbled towards the ground far below. Link pressed a button on the Sheikah slate to bring back the level ground for them to perform their victory dance.

Finally, they were back on the ground and safe. With the Divine Beast tamed and back by their side. Thanks to their teamwork at least the Rito's would be safe. Link and Revali fistbumped then broke off as they heard something.

"Hey, guys." a weak voice called from the entrance.

Link's head whipped around.

He knew that voice.

"Zelda!" Link called out as he ran towards her weary person.

Zelda looked incredibly tired but uninjured. Her hair was a mess with strands sticking out at all sides. The Master Sword dragged on the ground held by her weak hand. A strange red crimson covered both of her hands. She blinked two times as she saw Link race towards her.

Before she could open her mouth. Link had already ambushed her with a hug. Zelda was taken aback but made no attempt to push him away.

"I'm so glad you're not dead!" Link chirped with a happy tone.

"Uh...yeah." Zelda's tired state washed away as a laugh erupted from her.

Revali stood idly by, rolling his eyes as he crossed his feathery arms.

"I don't know about you Hylians but I would like to leave." Revali scoffed.

"Aw, come on Revali! Come here!" Zelda urged him.

"No."

"I'm sure you'd like a hug."

"I said-"

Zelda let go of Link and pulled Revali into a hug by gripping his feathery arm, forcing him. Link gave a glare at Revali and snorted.

Revali gave out a defiant squawk as he tried to squirm out of Zelda's grip.

"You know I don't like blood, please let go." Revali squeezed his eyes shut.

"Oh, yes I'm sorry." Zelda let go and glanced down at her blood dried hands.

"I'm sure that Link enjoys your hugs." Revali gave a chuckle.

"Prince Link." Corrected Link but his checks were a burning red and his eyes flared up in annoyance.

Revali's face was frozen in a somewhat teasing and happy smile. Zelda raised her eyebrows at the pair somewhat confused. Link turned away to hide his growing red face.

Zelda cleared her throat.

"I think we should head out." She nodded to Link and Revali.

"Yeah, we have to go to Goron next..." Link gave an exasperated sigh as he recalled the stifling hot and boring place where nothing ever happened.

"Oh, well enjoy the heat." Revali laughed as he realized the torture that Link would have to experience.

Zelda turned to Link ignoring Revali.

"Um...who's going to take care of the Beast? You know to not have it taken over again?"

(Is she talking to me?)

"Prince Link?" Zelda questioned.

Link now knew that she was asking him to do something. To make a decision. She was trusting him to make the right choice.

Who would take care of it?

Link gave a quick glance at Revali. He was a likely candidate. Though Link despised Revali there was no denying that Revali was an exceptional warrior and had a lot of willpower.

"Revali...would you be willing to handle the beast?" Link hesitated to ask but knew it was the right choice.

Revali, was startled by the question. His gaze snapped to Link. Surprise, honor and confusion was in his sharp eyes.

"What did you say?" Revali blinked.

"Would you like to take care of the Beast?" Link repeated his offer.

Revali's eyes wandered around the Beast's terrain before he turned back to Link.

"Why, it would be one of my greatest honors to do so." Revali accepted with glee glinting in his eyes.

"Alright, well Revali you'll also have to take us down." Zelda cut in.

"No problem," Revali replied but wasn't really paying attention.

Link nodded as him and Zelda started to walk towards the edge of the beast to take off to the ground.

"Now, if I can find the plug on this thing. I can disable it forever!" Revali's voice was a low murmur, but Link caught it.

(He better not do that.)

"Hey, Revali." Link called back stopping Revali's evil murmuring "Did you know you can fly it around?"

Even though Link couldn't see Revali he knew that he had caught Revali's attention.

"Anywhere?" Revali asked with an excited tone.

"Anywhere in the whole world." Link sealed the deal.

"Then I guess us Ritos will be going on a road trip." Revali mumbled again to himself.

The trio reached the edge. The Great Rito Warrior let the Prince and the Heroine onto his back. Together they soared down to the snowfall grounds with all its stark coldness and wonder. The two Hylian's screams of terror echoed through the skies as the Rito almost let them slide of his back.

Finally, they reached the snowy grounds. The beautiful feeling of two feet on the true ground was overwhelming. Happy Ritos waited outside of their haven for the trio to arrive. When they did there was screams of happiness and shouts of joy.

But the two Hylian's quickly realized that they were praising Revali instead of them.

Zelda and Link waited idle out of the circle of joy. Malus bestowed upon Revali a medal, honoring him for 'taming' the beast. The prideful Revali received kisses blown to him and he blew kisses back to the crowd. Sometimes he pretended to catch the kiss and then blow it back especially if it was a pretty Rito lady blowing the kiss. Ritos crowded around him begging him to tell the tale of what had occurred.

"Stop sulking," Zelda's voice cut through Link's vicious muttering about Revali.

Link hadn't realized that he had his arms firmly crossed, his mouth had formed a straight disapproving line and his eyes had narrowed into a glare.

"I'm not sulking." Link shot back at Zelda, who rolled her eyes.

"There's nothing more to do here. Let's just go." Zelda waved a dismissive hand.

"Fine." Link replied as he stalked off to their horses that waited for them.

Link and Zelda mounted their horses who snorted at them for leaving them alone for so long.

Unnoticed, they quietly set off down the trail heading to Goron. But as Link's parting goodbye, he stuck his tongue at Revali who was now crowd surfing. The cheers rang out as the crowd carryied him to a marvelous feast that lay inside.

As they traveled for hours, Link told her of the sweltering heat that awaited them and how he had always hated that city. The occasional fox scuttled by scaring Link since it was the dead of night.

Finally, they arrived at the trail that would lead them to Goron. The hot red mountains were dotted around them and flanked them at both sides. Large Goron made stone marked the paths, gently laid down on the hot soil.

They hadn't reached the extreme hot zone but still Zelda and Link were furiously sweating. Death Mountain was clear in the view with its terrifying height and its boiling lava peaking out. Not a single ounce of vegetation was in sight. Rocks and more rocks surrounded them. The horses had to be left at a nearby stable named "Foothill Stable" since they wouldn't be able to stand the heat.

Neither could the Hylian's stand the horrible heat but thanks to the recent invention of fireproof potions they would be able to make it.

Link glared at the familiar environment knowing that it was like an oven in Goron City. He groaned in anticipation. Zelda who had never travelled here would sadly have to simply adapt to the heat without experience.

"Ugh..." Link sighed as he wiped his sweat off his forehead.

"How can anyone stand this place?" Zelda gave another heavy sigh as she glanced up at the long trail.

They were now travelling through a valley which unnerved Zelda. The high rock walls concerned her. It was a perfect ambush point. And to make matters worse it was the dead of night.

Night, Valley and two vulnerable-looking travelers invited trouble.

Which they received.

A man lay in the middle of the road not too far ahead of them. He crouched over in pain as he held his leg tightly. The man gave a cry of pain.

Link looked up and saw this.

"Oh no..." Link took off running towards the wounded man.

(I must help him.)

Link was now in front of the wounded man. At closer inspection he was not really a man more like a young adult perhaps about 18 or 20. The boy had dark hair swept into his face and chocolate brown eyes. He wore a white Hylian tunic and tan Hylian trousers.

"Wait!" Zelda yelled, her eyes were alert and tried to reach Link.

The boy's chocolate eyes locked eyes with Link's bright blue ones.

Suddenly, the boy leapt up with such speed it caught Link off guard. In no time at all, Link's arms were pinned behind his back by the boys' hands.

"Let him go!" Zelda spat as she drew her sword.

"I don't think that will be happening." The boy sneered.

Like a hundred candles in the dark, the outskirts of the valley were lit up with flaming arrows held by archers ready to fire.

(Oh, Hylia.)

Zelda glared at the boy.

"Give me all your gold and I'll let him go." The boy demanded.

"What kind of person do you think you are. No way you filthy little thief!" Zelda shook her sword at him violently.

"Oh, I'm so glad you asked. Why, I'm the Great Misko Bandit." The boy grinned with a triumphant smile, and he struck a ridiculous pose.

"And my partner in crime, Arnen."
