Emergency

Ryuu stared at the sky, dark grey clouds flowing across it like water down a rapid. And there, standing on the horizon, was a giant illusion of the same child that had attacked Fu and Ryuu while they were trying to stop Shiranami.

"What does he want now?" Ryuu grumbled.

"I am a ninja originally from the Hidden Leaf," the boy said, Ryuu's eyes widening. "My name is Hiruko. Thanks to my Chimera jutsu, four of the Kekkei Genkai from each of the Great Ninja Villages are already mine. Soon I will obtain the fifth and final Kekkei Genkai. And once I possess it, I will become invincible. A perfect immortal ninja that none in all the world can stand against."

Challenge accepted, Ryuu thought.

"With that power I will start the Fourth Great Ninja War, and I will rule over everything," Hiruko finished, his illusion fading.

"If he thinks he'll be invincible with only five, he's sadly mistaken," Ryuu grumbled. "But if he has a way to steal Kekkei Genkai successfully, I know who's going to want to talk to him."

"Orochimaru," Fu said from her place at Ryuu's side, Tayuya and Tobi on the other side.

Just then, Kabuto landed in front of them. "Tsunade's summoned all Shinobi to the Academy Roof. She's declaring Martial Law."

"Terrific," Ryuu grumbled. "Let's go."

He and the others all headed to the roof, kneeling in front of Tsunade, the rest of the Jonin and Chunin in the village currently forming up around them, all likewise bowing.

"For the foreseeable future, the village has been placed under Martial Law," Tsunade said. "As you're all aware by now, a ninja called Hiruko has declared war on our world. Our village now finds itself in a more dangerous position than ever. It's possible that other villages could attack us at any moment too. Stay sharp."

"Right!" they all said, most of them leaving, Ryuu and his team, Sasuke, and Itachi all staying, Kakashi currently standing beside Tsunade.

"You four are in the most danger," Tsunade said. "In our village, the only two Kekkei Genkai that anyone is currently aware of are the Byakugan, and the Sharingan. As such, every member of the Hyuga Clan has been either placed under extra security, aside from Hinata and Neji, who both have their teams to watch over them. However, your four all possess Sharingan, and are the more likely targets as the Sharingan is widely held as the more versatile and dangerous of the two Dojutsu."

"Understood," Ryuu said. "We'll be careful."

Tsunade nodded. "I don't want any of your four going anywhere alone."

They all nodded and she dismissed them. Ryuu returned to his house with his team, Sasuke, and Itachi, all of them landing beside Yugao. Yugao hugged Itachi, who wrapped his own arms around her, holding her comfortingly.

"How does he plan to get the person whose Kekkei Genkai he wants?" Ryuu asked.

"Force?" Sasuke asked.

"I fought him during our last mission," Ryuu said. "He's powerful, terrifyingly so, but not that powerful. He wouldn't be able to do it without alerting the entire village."

"He likely means to draw that person out," Itachi said. "Perhaps by use of a hostage."

Ryuu hummed thoughtfully. "Maybe."

"What are you thinking?" Fu asked.

"No matter who he chooses, there would be a tidal wave of complications," Ryuu said. "For example, if he chose any of the three of us, everyone currently standing here would be after him before he got a mile away, and then the rest of our friends would be just behind them. On the other hand, Kakashi we would all follow."

"Unless we didn't know he was gone," Sasuke said. "He's definitely the kind of person to sacrifice himself for the village."

Ryuu nodded. "I agree. But there's another piece to this puzzle. Why announce his plans before gaining the fifth Kekkei Genkai? Why not operate in secret until he has all five, rather than only four?"

"He believes his victory is assured," Itachi said. "He believes that he cannot be stopped."

Ryuu nodded. "So then he's already planned everything out."

Itachi nodded. "And he likely has predicted the reactions of the Five Kage."

"They'll prepare for war," Sasuke said.

"Tsunade's on her way to meet with Gaara now," Ryuu said.

Just then, a flickering illusion appeared beside them, a woman with a blue dress starting low on her Tsunade-sized breasts, then ending high on her thighs, wavy red hair falling down her back with the bangs hiding her right eye, a top knot, and two locks of her hair crossing between her collar bones. Ryuu raised an eyebrow.

"Judging by the seal you're using, you must be the Mizukage," Ryuu said. "I was wondering if that letter ever reached you."

"I had no reason to contact you before," the woman said. "I agree with your opinion of how to defend Utakata. He will be safer in your village than in ours, which has lost one Tailed Beast twice, and has lost the other once. However the current situation warranted a call."

"I'm honored to be able to speak you, Lady Mizukage," Ryuu bowed.

"You're very polite," she said. "My name is Mei Terumi. I possess both the Lava Style Kekkei Genkai and the Boil Style Kekkei Genkai. You yourself possess the Sharingan. What do you know of Hiruko?"

"Not much," Ryuu admitted. "We believe he is going to try and take Kakashi Hatake's Sharingan as his fifth Kekkei Genkai. However, we have yet to figure out how, or when. His timing is suspicious, so there must be something going on soon. Also, I can absolutely promise you that Hiruko is not associated with the Hidden Leaf Village anymore. The Hidden Leaf does not wish to start a war and will not fight one against any of the other villages if you do not attack us."

Mei nodded. "I would like to speak with your Hokage."

"Unfortunately, Lady Tsunade just left the village to meet with Gaara in order to confirm that our alliance with them stands, and they will not attack us," Ryuu said. "As soon as she returns, I will call you. I would appreciate it if you would agree to maintain peace between our villages in the mean time, with me acting on Lady Tsunade's behalf. Our village will deal with Hiruko. If you can hold off any hostility until then, we can avoid a war."

"You're very honest, and also very naïve," Mei said. "You remind me of someone I once new. You have my word, we will not attack the Hidden Leaf without provocation to."

"Thank you, Lady Mizukage," Ryuu bowed. "I will do all I can to resolve this situation quickly."

Mei smiled. "I believe you. Please tell Lady Tsunade that she has nothing to fear from the Hidden Mist Village."

Ryuu nodded and she faded, everyone staring at him in surprise. "What?"

"You just brokered peace in two minutes," Itachi said.

Ryuu shrugged. "Wasn't that hard. All I did was promise to clean up the mess our village accidentally created."

"That's my fiancé," Fu smiled, hugging him.

"I'll send a messenger hawk to Lady Tsunade to let her know the Hidden Mist's stance," Yugao said.

"I'll have a clone watch Kakashi," Itachi said.

"I'm going to go and get ready to go after Hiruko," Ryuu said. "If I can stop him before he comes after Kakashi, he won't be able to absorb him."

Itachi nodded and Ryuu and Fu headed inside to pack.
