Ryuu stared up at the moon as it drifted in and out from behind the clouds. It was full tonight, so he and Fu were both awake. Turns out, Isobu has trouble sleeping during the full moon too, though only because when the moon was full, Isobu's shell started to itch, which, in turn, made Ryuu's skin itch. Beside him, Chomei was smiling pleasantly up at the moon, as always.
"The moon's so pretty," Chomei smiled.
Ryuu hummed in response. "Just wait until the..." his eyes widened. "The eclipse! That's it! he needs the eclipse for his jutsu!"
Chomei stared at him before nodding. "If that's true, he'll have about two days to get Kakashi. But that leaves the same problem. It's not like Kakshi's just going to get up and walk right out to the village to be taken, right?"
Ryuu's eyes widened. "Son of a bitch!" He jumped up, grabbing his gear, Chomei grabbing Fu's as well. "We gotta go!"
He sprinted out of the house with Chomei and both flew to the Hokage's office, Chomei returning control to Fu on the way. As they reached the door to Tsunade's office, Itachi reached it from the other side.
"Kakashi's leaving the village," Itachi said. "He's been branded with a-"
"Puppet Master Jutsu," Ryuu said, Itachi nodded. "Come on."
The three of them stepped into Tsunade's office and found that she was still missing. Ryuu shook his head, motioning for Fu to seal the room, so she closed the door and placed a silencing seal while Itachi closed the blinds. Ryuu formed several hand seals, placing his right hand on the ground, a round seal appearing in front of it before shining, seal scrip flashing in the air over it before an image of Tsunade appeared, about a foot and a half tall.
"Ryuu?" Tsunade asked. "What is it? I'm trying to deal with a situation."
"Did you get Yugao's letter?" Ryuu asked.
"Yes," Tsunade said. "However, Gaara has disappeared, and Suna is preparing to attack if he isn't found because he disappeared on the way to meet with me."
"Lovely," Ryuu grumbled. "Lady Tsunade, Kakashi has been branded with a Puppet Master Jutsu and is on his way to Hiruko."
"I know," Tsunade said. "He already told me."
"Let me go after him," Ryuu said. "I'll follow him to Hiruko, and then I can deal with Hiruko once we find him."
"It's been handled," Tsunade said. "Kakashi already came up with a plan."
Ryuu cursed. "You placed a seal on him to force him to use Kamui when Hiruko tries to take his Sharingan, didn't you?"
"Yes I did," Tsunade said.
"Alright," Ryuu nodded. "Then now you're going to give me permission to save him and stop Hiruko without that happening."
Tsunade was silent for a moment before nodding. "Alright, but the others are going to stay in order to defend the village. Hiruko isn't the only threat our village is facing right now."
"I know," Ryuu nodded. "And thank you."
Tsunade nodded and Ryuu let the seal fade, standing.
"Itachi, find Naruto and Shikamaru," Ryuu said. "Naruto needs to help figure out what the code Jiraiya left behind says. Fu and I will go after Kakashi."
Itachi nodded just as Sakura, Sai, and Sasuke all stepped into the room just as soon as Fu removed the silencing seal and unlocked the door.
"Where are we going?" Sasuke asked.
"We're going to be following Kakashi," Ryuu said. "I need you to stay here in case Pein attacks. You're one of the few people with the power to challenge him."
Sasuke nodded. "Alright. Hurry home. We're going to need you."
"As fast as I can," Ryuu nodded. "Let's go."
He, Fu, Sakura, and Sai left quickly, heading for the main gate and followed the scratches Itachi's clone had left before catching up to him. The clone released its jutsu and Ryuu and the others settled in for a long trip, walking along behind Kakashi, who was staggering along in silence, paying them no heed.
Ryuu growled in annoyance as he stared at the man blocking their path. He had straight, shoulder-length brown hair, a red rectangle lying horizontally on his forehead, a sleeveless, purple shirt and pants, black boots, and a half-cape over his right shoulder, hanging to his elbow. He also summoned blue snake-like creatures with bone on top of their heads, and the ability to multiply by spitting out two, which could also then spit out two each, and so on.
"I'm not letting the four of you go anywhere," the man smirked. "I have orders to stop anyone who tries to interfere."
"That's very interesting," Ryuu said. "It's really quite a coincidence. You see, I would care about your orders, but I just sold my last fuck for some cheap ramen. Now either get out of our way, or we're going to kill you."
The man chuckled darkly. "That was a pretty good joke. And that one about your last fuck wasn't too bad either. So you say you're going to kill me, huh? Well, let's see about that."
"If you insist," Ryuu said, crouching and drawing his tanto, Fu and Sai both doing the same while Sakura pulled her gloves tight. "Scatter."
All four of them took off in a different direction and the massive pillar of blue snakes the man had exploded out of the ground on initially split into four smaller swarms, all of them multiplying as they chased Ryuu and the others. Ryuu flipped, extending his wings and turning toward his before slashing rapidly, slaughtering all of the snakes, seeing Fu doing the same thing off to his left. As they did, Sakura and Sai were both caught, only to burst into twin showers of ink. Then, Sakura fell at the man from above, punching at him, only for him to leap aside, more snakes exploding out of the ground and wrapping around her instantly.
"Time to die!" the man grinned, only for Ryuu to appear beside him, drilling a fist into his cheek and sending him exploding along the ground.
The snakes around Sakura all dropped suddenly as Fu and Sai slashed the pillar from opposite sides, Sai with a Vacuum Blade and Fu with a Water Sword. The man began to stand, only for Ryuu to drill a foot down into his chest, shattering his ribs and spreading half a dozen paralysis seals over him.
"There," Ryuu said. "That should hold you." He formed a clone, who picked the man up and began to head back toward the Hidden Leaf. "Come on. We're late."
The others nodded and they continued, running after Kakashi. However, he seemed to have picked up the pace, because after they had scaled a cliff, instead of Kakashi, they found a closed gate, like the one the last guy had been guarding, which Kakashi had passed through. Standing atop this one was a woman with long, wavy brown hair, two rectangles on her left cheek, and a dark maroon outfit consisting of a pair of detached sleeves and gloves, a one-piece that hung low on her breasts, was open over her abdomen, and had left the outsides of her hips exposed before having a pair of full pantlegs. Over the one-piece, she wore a leather belt just below her breasts, and another around her waist, holding on a dark maroon cloth that hung in front of her legs and another behind her. To either side of her were a large, armored, dog-like creature, similar to the pig that had saved Hiruko when they first met, these two with massive spikes sticking forward off of their backs, like a pair of joisting lances.
"Well it's about time," the woman said. "My two cuties and I have been waiting practically forever for you to arrive. They get so grumpy when they're hungry."
"Is that right," Ryuu said. "Well, send them on down. I've got something they can eat right here."
He formed a Chidori in his right hand and the woman smirked. The two dogs leapt at them and Sakura, Fu, and Sai all sighed shaking their heads and calmly walking forward.
"You're awfully calm for people who are about to-"
Ryuu appeared beside Fu, Chidori gone, and the two dogs suddenly had a hole through each of their torsos, directly through their hearts. Both crashed to the ground dead and the woman shrieked in rage.
"Summoning Jutsu!" she shrieked, the same pig as had saved Hiruko appearing, the woman standing on its head. "Chimera Jutsu!"
Ryuu flipped out of the pig's way as it crashed to the ground, the others all scattering as well, and Ryuu's eyes widened as he saw the woman's lower body had fused with the creature. She grinned wickedly, pulling out a whip and pulling the first foot or so tight as Ryuu flickered once.
"Now the real fight begins," she grinned.
"Does it?" Ryuu asked.
"What do you-" she stopped as blood sprayed out of the pig below her on all sides, massive gashes lining its body. She shrieked in rage as her body separated from the pig's corpse and it collapsed. "When the fuck did you do that!?"
"About the same time you were playing with your whip," Ryuu said. "We don't have time to be messing around with you, so I'm just going to end this."
He reached back, gripping the hilt of his tanto, only for Fu to appear behind the woman, slicing her legs off with a Water Blade before slamming her to the ground and placing a dozen layers of paralysis seals on her before quickly healing her amputated legs to stop the bleeding.
"No killing," Fu said. "It's not necessary with these weaklings."
Ryuu nodded, smiling. He walked over tot he gate and hardened his fist, punching it and shattering it. Then, he and the others all sprinted through, continuing along the path. As they ran, a bird cried out above them and they all looked up, seeing one that looked more like a pterodactyl with a mask similar to the pig and dogs', then green feathers lining the back edge of its entire body. It flipped and dozens of massive green feathers shot down, stabbing into the ground before exploding, decimating the area, only for Ryuu and the others to exit the dust cloud unharmed.
"This is starting to get on my nerves," Ryuu said, biting his thumb and forming hand seals rapidly, then stopped, slamming his hand down. "Summoning Jutsu!"
His giant crow appeared below him just as the other bird shrieked again, flapping its wings and sending more feathers at him.
"Pathetic," the crow said, flapping its own and sending his feathers up into the green ones, then detonating them, setting off the other bird's as well. "Go. I will deal with this."
"Right," Ryuu nodded patting the crow's head. "Be careful. And once we're done with this mission, I'll pay you back for your help."
The crow nodded and Ryuu and the others took off once again, this time with Ryuu and Fu flying Sakura and Sai, while the crow and the other bird began to streak around above them, firing explosive feathers at each other rapidly.
