Pein
Ryuu curled himself around Fu tighter, Fu sighing and cuddling into his chest.
"Finally finished," Fu smiled. "Mating season has officially ended."
"Well, it was fun while it lasted," Ryuu sighed.
Fu smiled. "It's alright. Second and third term pregnancy are known to be the parts when girls are extra horny and sensitive."
Ryuu smirked. "You sure you're done mating season, because you don't seem that different."
Fu giggled, then gasped sharply and ran for the bathroom. Ryuu sighed, then followed her, kneeling beside her and using her hairclip to pin her hair back, stroking her back for her while she vomited into the toilet. This was their normal routine. It was a bit of a bummer that they couldn't enjoy laying in bed all morning anymore, but Ryuu was still ecstatic that they were having a child, so he didn't mind. He kissed the back of her shoulder and she grimaced.
"I must look like the sexiest girl in the world right now," Fu said.
"You are to me," Ryuu smiled, resting his chin on her shoulder. "You're the single most beautiful and amazing girl I've ever met. I'll always think you're the sexiest girl in the world."
"What if I'm..." she paused to vomit, "having explosive diarrhea?"
"Then as soon as you're done and clean, I'll join you in the shower," Ryuu smiled.
Fu smiled, shaking her head slowly. "Suck up."
Ryuu chuckled. "Love you too."
He kissed her cheek and she flushed the toilet, beginning to clean her mouth out, and Ryuu took the time to brush his teeth as well. After a few minutes, they were both finished and returned to bed, once again burrowing down under the covers and cuddling into each other.
"How much longer do you think we'll have?" Fu asked.
"Not long," Ryuu said. "Maybe a day or two at most."
Fu nodded. "What are we doing today?"
"I'm going to go get a bite to eat," Ryuu said. "As much fun as it's been to do nothing but eat you for the last few days, I'm missing real food."
"This from the guy who doesn't actually need to eat," Fu smirked. "Seriously. You're lucky. You only eat out of habit and enjoyment, and anything you eat turns into chakra thanks to this." She reached her left hand across her abdomen and slipped it into his right hand, which was wrapped around her. "That's like, the most useful ability ever!"
Ryuu smiled, kissing her. "Come on. We should get up and go show the village we're not dead."
Fu sighed, then nodded, kissing him. They both got dressed, Ryuu putting on his Konoha Shinobi uniform today, including his flak, then grabbed their tantos, knives, and other assorted gear, Fu even going so far as to grab her scroll, and left the house, heading to Yakiniku Q. After a few minutes, Ryuu glanced up as Shikamaru stepped up to the table.
"Oh hey," Ryuu said. "What's up?"
"Nothing new, yet," Shikamaru said. "Mind if I join you?"
"Not at all," Ryuu said.
Shikamaru sat across from him and Fu, and after a few minutes, the waiter returned, setting Ryuu and Fu's tea on the table.
Fu took a sip, smiling, but when Ryuu reached for his, it shattered before his hand could actually touch it. Ryuu stopped, staring at the tea on the table. Fu did the same as Shikamaru asked Ryuu if he was okay. Ryuu and Fu both stood, faces calm.
"Start evacuating the village," Ryuu said calmly, wiping the tea off of his hand. "Now. I'll go tell Tsunade."
Shikamaru opened his mouth to ask a question, but Ryuu flashed Shikamaru a serious look and Shikamaru swallowed hard, standing. "Everyone head to the evacuation shelter, now!"
Everyone looked at him for a moment before he repeated the order, louder this time, and they all took off. The order spread through the village quickly, and by the time Ryuu and Fu had reached Tsunade's office at Fu's fasted speed with the Body Flicker Technique, almost a quarter of the village was already moving.
"It's about to begin," Ryuu said.
"Go get-" Tsunade was cut off by explosions rocking the village, a dozen of them.
A half second later, there were massive purple and orange centipedes with a massive metal spike down through their head rampaging through the village. Tsunade stared out the window in shock and Ryuu spun, grabbing Fu by the hand and using his max speed to get to the top of the Hokage Monument, leaving seven clones with her.
"Stay here!" Ryuu ordered, then vanished again, going to face Pein.
Ryuu stopped in the center of a square, spiking his chakra for a moment to draw in the three centipedes. It worked like a charm, and a moment later all three exploded out of buildings around him on three separate sides. He narrowed his eyes, activating his Sharingan and turning, exploding forward in a blur and passing the first, his Wind Rapier splitting the Centipede into a couple dozen pieces as he passed it. He landed on a roof and turned to the other two just as one of them was suddenly encased in crystal before shattering and the other was slammed into the ground by Gozu, its head and several segments exploding into paste from Gozu's monstrous strength.
"We thought you could use some help," Guren said.
"I've got this handled," Ryuu said.
"No," Guren said. "You're too important to Fu, and you're the one that protects her. We'll handle this one. You go make sure she's safe."
"She's safe," Ryuu assured her, then sighed. "You're sure you can handle this one?"
"Positive," Guren said.
Ryuu nodded. "Be careful, Guren."
Guren nodded and Ryuu turned, vanishing just before the massive bird summon Pein had sent after him before exploded into the ground.
Yakumo took several unsteady breaths, pressing herself back against the wall as she tried to calm herself. She needed Lee. She was only ever strong around him, so he could make up for her weakness. But now, with the village under attack, he was away on a mission. She glanced around the corner, seeing the Akatsuki member, a bald man with dozens of piercings and a creepy smile, turn to look directly at her. She gasped harshly before closing her eyes. She could do this. She'd been training with Lee and Kurenai for years. She could do this. She only had to survive until help arrived. She took a breath and opened her eyes, the enemy, who had been flying toward her using a pair of thrusters built into his legs, was suddenly hit by a massive fist of stone that erupted out of the ground in front of him, sending him exploding backward. After a moment, he stood and his creepy smile seemed all the more threatening. He wasn't even dirty. Yakumo narrowed her eyes as the stone fist faded. How dare he be so calm? How dare he attack the village, kill so many innocents as he had with the rockets that he could fire out of his arm? How dare he act like all of Lee and Kurenai's training was pointless?
Yakumo began to walk forward, a shining aura of light blue chakra appearing around her as the world around them began to change, the surface of everything rippling, the ripples moving toward the enemy. The enemy looked around just as dozens of the same Ido creature as had once possessed her burst from the ground at each ripple, slashing at the ninja with their claws. The ninja looked to Yakumo before spinning, jagged metal blades erupting from his forearms, blocking the Ido monsters' claws before shredding them, killing them all. Yakumo shrieked in rage and effort, massive tendrils of her chakra shroud lashing out at the enemy, striking at him like whips, stabbing their pointed ends at him. He spun and ducked around the tendrils for several seconds before grinning. He crouched, preparing to attack, only for a metal rod to suddenly sprout from Yakumo's chest, punching through her heart. Her Genjutsu faded instantly and her body went limp as the new enemy turned her toward him, his rippled grey eyes, identical to the other one's, watching her emptily from under his orange hair.
"Where are the Jinchuriki?" that enemy asked. "Where are the Nine-tails, Seven-tails, and Six-tails?"
Yakumo spat blood onto the enemy's face before falling limp. A moment later, just as Pein finished wiping the blood off his face, Ryuu appeared on a roof overlooking them, staring at Yakumo's body. He curled his hands into fists, rage welling inside of him.
"You," Pein said. "You are Ryuu Uchiha. Where is the Seven-tails Jinchuriki?"
"It doesn't matter," Ryuu said. "You're about to die here."
Pein hummed thoughtfully before the ripples in his eyes pulsated, rolling outward from his pupils. Ryuu felt like his body was made of lead suddenly, and when the bald Pein leapt at him, his body didn't want to respond. However, he wasn't so easily killed. Even slowed to that degree, he shot out of the way of the bald Pein, flipping and landing on the opposite roof before exploding back off of it and into the bald Pein's back, his right arm cracking from its fist to elbow. He kicked off the Pein, flipping away and landing on his feet as his arm repaired itself quickly.
"You are dangerous," the orange-haired Pein said as the bald one dropped its robe, revealing six arms and a massive, serrated scorpion tail made of some kind of obviously incredibly hard metal.
Two more faces suddenly grew from the sides of the bald Pein's head and it grinned, all six of its hands hardening into a silvery metal. Ryuu curled his hands into fists. Both fists darkened to black and Ryuu shot forward, drilling a punch at the bald Pein, only for it to meet that Pein's fist, once again cracking, though not as badly. Then, a blast of something that felt like a freight train exploded into Ryuu's entire body and he rocketed directly away from the orange-haired pain. He bounced hard once, rolling to a stop just before a massive dog rust-colored fur, a metal spike through each of its dozen heads' snouts, and blood running out of two of the mouths landed over him. Ryuu glared up at it just as it bowed its head, dropping its prize at his feet.
Guren flipped into the air over the massive dog, forming hand seals before crystal encased it, shattering. However, a moment later, three more exploded into existence where it had been, charging out of their smoke cloud and barking as they charged her. Gozu stepped in front of them, catching two by the nose with one hand each, then slammed his hands together, the two dogs he'd caught slamming together head to head with the third between them in a massive spray of blood. However, as they did, their bodies suddenly merged and the now three-headed dog lunged, snapping at Gozu and missing only because Guren had grabbed him and leapt away. As they landed, the dogs separated again, three new ones stretching out of those three as well, forming six around them.
Guren spun, launching a wave of massive crystal shuriken at the dogs on one side, just as several ANBU appeared off to the side, one with a bird mask sending out a blade of wind, which sliced the head off of the other three. However, each head grew a new body, and each body a new head. Meanwhile, the ones Guren had all but shredded with her crystal shuriken multiplied similarly, leaving more than a dozen behind.
"We can't win this battle, Guren," Gozu said, glancing off to the side where the giant bird the dog had saved before was dive-bombing the village.
"I know," Guren said, glancing around at the Pein that had summoned the animals, a female with orange hair tied into a bow on top of her head. "We have to kill her."
Gozu nodded in agreement. They turned toward her, only for a shriek of agony to ring out from the ANBU, an arm spinning past them. They turned, eyes widening as they saw the dogs around the ANBU had merged into one with a dozen heads, which were all fighting over the remains of the ANBU's corpse.
"Go Gozu!" Guren shouted, spinning toward it and the other dogs as they all began to merge rapidly.
Gozu exploded toward the Pein, and Guren formed a pair of massive crystal shuriken. However, before she could attack, another Pein, this one fat with short hair, crashed into Gozu, launching him into Guren's back. Guren stood just as the dog's feet crashed down on either side of her and Gozu. And then, it was over.
Ryuu roared in rage as Guren and Gozu's mutilated corpses bounced to a stop in front of him. He exploded forward, his right hand exploding into the dog's underside, dozens of Gravity Seals and paralysis seals flashing out from his hand, the dog exploding to the ground once he was out from under it. He spun as soon as he landed, left hand brushing three of the bald Pein's fists aside before the other Pein raised a hand, Ryuu suddenly flying backward once again. He flipped as he sensed movement behind him, feeling something split the back of his flak open. He landed on his feet as three more Peins landed beside the first two. One of them was a tall, thin man with long orange hair, one was fat with short, messy orange hair, and one of them was a girl. He narrowed his eyes at her. He knew her. She had been in his second Chunin Exam. She was a Hidden Rain kunoichi. Except, she had had red hair, no black rods embedded in her body, and no Rinnegan. Ryuu reached back, feeling his back, finding it was a shallow wound. He pulled his flak off, tossing it aside, leaving the tanto with it, then ripped off his shirt, tossing it aside as well.
"Whatever genjutsu you used on me is wearing off," Ryuu growled, narrowing his eyes. "You're not going to be able to keep up much longer."
"We have acquired the information we needed," the apparent main Pein said. "Naruto Uzumaki is currently training in Sage Jutsu at Mount Myoboku. Utakata is also away training. Both will return when they hear about this attack. The Seven-tails is here, and will come to save you when you are in danger. You possess the Three-tails, so we won't kill you. We simply need to defeat you, and we will draw out the Seven-tails."
"You won't touch Fu," Ryuu snarled. "You or any of your puppets."
"Puppets?" the main Pein asked.
"That's right," Ryuu growled. "At least five of the Peins are puppets, if not all six. I'd wager all six are. The girl was named Ajisai, and she took the Chunin Exam with me in Sunagakure. If she's a Pein now, it can only mean you're able to control what I assume was a corpse using your Rinnegan, and spread that Rinnegan to the puppets. I'd guess the black rods that she didn't have before are chakra receivers. Which means the real one is somewhere else. And we're a Pein short, which means he's either preparing a sneak attack, or he's the most valuable Pein."
"You are unlike any others from your village," Pein said. "In mere moments after seeing most of the Peins, you correctly deduced the nature of the Peins. I can not allow you to continue being free."
"Funny," Ryuu said. "I was about to say something similar about allowing your puppets to keep moving."
"Get him," the main Pein ordered.
The bald one and the fat one both shot forward, but before they could reach him, Sasuke and Itachi appeared below them, kicking them both skyward before wrapping wire around them, binding their arms to their sides, and swinging them back to the ground, where they cracked the ground before the two Uchiha slammed a kick into them, hurling them both away.
"Ah, yes, the two traitors," Pein said. "Welcome. I was wondering where you two disappeared to."
"We were helping evacuate," Itachi said. "This fight is one that needs as few people present as possible."
Pein watched him for a long moment before the two they'd disabled broke free, spreading to surround the three. At the same time, the massive dog suddenly separated into dozens, surrounding them, newly free of the seals Ryuu had placed, and the bird above them shrieked loudly. Ryuu pulled out his summoning scroll and hurled it into the air, his giant crow appearing from it in a cloud of smoke.
"Carefully try to deal with that bird," Ryuu instructed him.
"As you command," the crow said, beating his wings and taking off like a shot, heading for Pein's bird summon.
Pein extended a pair of black rods from his sleeves before nodding, he and the rest of the puppets all exploding forward instantly. Sasuke shot forward, crashing into the fat one's stomach with a kick, and sending him exploding backward into the one with long hair. As soon as he did, Itachi and Ryuu passed him. Ryuu's Wind Rapier clashed hard against the bald Pein's forearm blades, the two beginning to leap around as they fought, Ryuu finding himself actually struggling to fend off the Pein, still being slowed by the main Pein's genjutsu.
The dogs all shot forward suddenly, and Ryuu slammed a kick into the Pein he was fighting, sending him crashing into one of them before spinning and slashing the dogs in a circle around himself, only to instantly regret that decision as the dogs all multiplied by both of their halves to grow a new half. He swore loudly and shot into the air stopping himself above them and forming hand seals rapidly. Sasuke and Itachi both glanced up at him, Sasuke fending off dogs and Itachi struggling to fend off Pein. Both shot out of the way instantly.
"Fire Style, Majestic Destroyer Flame!" Ryuu shouted before spewing a massive sea of flames down onto the dogs, the Peins having all scattered.
The dogs all shrieked and screamed in pain, almost sounding human, and Ryuu felt a split-second pang of guilt. Then, the bald Pein reached him from the right and he flipped, ending the jutsu and just barely managing to deflect the Pein's blades with his Wind Rapier in his right hand before forming a Chidori in his left hand. He shoved it at the freak, but that Pein stabbed at him with his tail, forcing Ryuu to flip over the tail, stopping his attack. Then, as he was about to attack again, the main Pein's power, whatever it was, exploded into him like a sold force, sending him spinning away and crashing down in the village a large distance away. A second later, the bald Pein exploded down on his back, breaking it.
Sasuke watched the flames in silence as the dogs lay motionless. Then, the flames suddenly began to move, leaving the dogs and streaming into a spherical barrier around the fat one. Sasuke shot toward him, but the one with long hair, and the girl both reached him and stabbed with black rods, forcing him to yank his sword out, blocking their strikes before the long-haired one kicked him, launching him away. Sasuke flipped, landing on the roof just as the fat one finished absorbing the flames. Sasuke instantly launched himself backward just before a flood of partially burned, furious monster dogs exploded into the building he'd been on, turning to chase him instantly. He swore, beginning to form hand seals, only for the fat Pein to land on the lead dog, preparing to absorb any jutsus Sasuke tried to use to slow the dogs. Sasuke grit his teeth, then flipped, kicking the long-haired Pein away, only for a spear made of pieces of paper attached to each other and as hard as metal to drive itself through his left shoulder.
His eyes widened as the paper began to rapidly cover him, only for him to exhale a flood of flames, forcing them back enough for him to rip the spear out and vanish as soon as he touched down on the next roof. The dogs smashed the building and sniffed before barking and yipping, turning and rampaging through the village after him.
Itachi cursed under his breath, spinning around Pein and slashing at him from behind with a kunai. Pein spun deflecting the strike before beginning to stab at Itachi rapidly. His blade sparked against Itachi's kunai again and again, but Itachi began to retreat quickly. He could barely see anything beyond a blur. Pein was too dangerous for a protracted fight like this. Suddenly, a second metal rod shot out of Pein's other sleeve. Itachi moved to block it as well, but it stabbed him through the right shoulder just before the first one stabbed his left. Itachi shouted in pain and hurled his kunai, lightning streaming along it, only for Pein's Rinnegan to ripple, a solid wall of some kind of force slamming into him and burying his kunai in his own gut before launching him off of the two metal rods. He exploded into the remains of a destroyed building and pushed himself up just as Pein raised a hand off to the side, sending out a pulse of his power. Then, he turned back to Itachi as Itachi stood, pulling the kunai out of his gut and flipping it into the air.
"Fire Style, Giant Fireball Jutsu!"
He exhaled the mass of flames at Pein before catching his kunai. The flames dispersed around Pein as though blown away from him and Itachi hurled the kunai, which Pein leaned out of the way of. Pein's eyes narrowed as Itachi's widened. Then, Pein exploded forward, growing a pair of metal rods. Itachi swallowed hard before activating his Mangekyo Sharingan and forming his Susanoo. It lashed out at Pein with its Totsuka Blade and Pein flipped over it, hurling a metal rod, only for it to bounce off the Susanoo. Then, Itachi was suddenly ejected from the Susanoo through its right side just before the Susanoo erupted into a massive fireball, levelling the area they were in and hurling Pein away. Itachi flipped and spun before crashing down near where he'd sensed Ryuu.
Ryuu's head snapped around as the bald Pein paused in breaking Ryuu's limbs, leaving his right arm only, and also looked around at Itachi. Itachi pushed himself up, his milky white eyes staring emptily ahead. He looked like shit, and he coughed up blood from the three stab wounds in his torso.
"Ryuu," Itachi said. "The main Pein has-"
The bald Pain drive his hand, and all of the jagged forearm blades on that arm, into Itachi's gut, lifting him as Itachi shouted in agony and Ryuu watched on in horror and grief, his body still struggling to heal.
"...five...second..." Itachi coughed up blood, struggling to speak, only for the long-haired Pein to appear behind him, resting a hand on his head before yanking upward, literally ripping Itachi's soul out of his body.
Ryuu shouted in rage and grief and pain as his broken bones all cracked and snapped back into place, healing faster with his anger setting his chakra boiling. As they did, Sakura landed off to the side only to freeze as the Peins tossed Itachi's body aside. She covered her mouth in shock, eyes watering, and Ryuu stood, raising a hand as a clone shot over him, dropping his tanto to him. The two Peins exploded toward him and he shot forward, his blade clashing with the bald one's forearm blades and tail and the long-haired one's metal rods as they fought. He drew his trench knife after a moment, pushing himself as hard as he could, struggling to be able to keep up. Finally, he flipped, slamming a kick into the bald Pein's head, then continued his flip, his other foot kicking the other Pein's rod aside before Ryuu spread his wings, using them to flip. His tanto flashed down at that Pein, only for the fat Pein to slam a punch into Ryuu's face, launching him away. He flipped, bouncing once before landing on his feet and pulled his tanto back to himself with a chakra thread just as his crow summon crashed to the ground beside him.
"My apologies," the crow said. "I failed."
Then, it exploded into smoke as the bird floated to the ground behind the two Peins, the girl standing on its back. Ryuu exploded forward, only for the main Pein to step out from behind the bird, extending a hand and sending a blast of his power into Ryuu, sending him exploding backward into a wall, shattering the building.
"Ryuu!" Sakura shrieked, just as the long-haired Pein appeared behind her, reaching out toward her, only for Sasuke to kick him aside.
As Ryuu stood and turned to the front again, several things happened. First, all of his clones were suddenly killed in a spray of black rods from the sixth Pein. Secondly, at the same time as Sasuke's feet touched the ground, the main Pein used his power to launch a black rod at Ryuu in a blurred black streak, too fast for Ryuu to react to with the genjutsu still slowing him. Then, blood splattered across Ryuu's face and his eyes slowly widened as he stared at Pein's new victim. The white top and skirt, the mint-green hair, and the black rod stabbed through her abdomen and out through her spine. His entire body went numb, and suddenly he couldn't breathe. Fu tipped backward and he caught her, eyes wide and tears flooding down his face. She smiled sadly up at him, raising a hand, which he took in his own instantly.
"I'm...sorry...Ryuu," Fu smiled, tears running down her face as well. "I...couldn't...lose..." Her eyes dulled and her head fell to the side, resting against his bicep and her arm went limp.
Ryuu didn't sob. He kissed Fu's fingers before setting her body down and unrolling a scroll beside her. As he set his tanto on the storage seal, Sasuke swore, grabbing Sakura under his right arm and spinning, launching himself away and fleeing from what was about to be an entirely different kind of battle.
"Stop!" Sakura shouted, trying to break free. "We have to go back! We have to help him! He's going to-"
"He's going to win!" Sasuke snapped, making no move to slow down as he fled across the village.
"What?" Sakura asked.
"Ryuu is a pure soul," Sasuke explained as Ryuu sealed his tanto, trench knife, and necklace all into the scroll, rolling it up. "The best person I've ever met. Until Fu is hurt. When that happens, he changes. I've only seen him like this once. When Fu is hurt, all of Ryuu's morals, all his beliefs, everything that makes him a good person...it's all null and void. And now, Fu, who Ryuu just found out is pregnant with his child, is dead."
Ryuu stood, holding the scroll by the end before swinging his arm down to his side, curling his fingers and sending the scroll speeding after Sasuke. As the scroll reached Sasuke, its momentum died out and Sasuke's arm snapped up, catching it.
"If he's going to fight, why would he seal his weapons?" Sakura asked.
"Because he doesn't need them," Sasuke said as he finally stopped on the edge of the village. "And because he knows that after today, he'll never need them again."
"What do you mean?" Sakura asked.
"Ryuu's not coming back. Win or lose, if he survives this fight, Ryuu's not coming back this time. Even if he survives killing Pein, he's going to die. He can't live without Fu. She's his lifeline. She's his whole world."
Ryuu curled his hands into fists, tears falling to the ground as he silently kept his head bowed. Pein watched him carefully, sensing the killing intent that was practically suffocating from him, and was only growing stronger. Suddenly, his tears turned red, blood dripping from his eyes. Finally, his head snapped up, fury filling every inch of his expression as he roared rage, loud and pained. His Mangekyo Sharingan shone dangerously, and the ground around Ryuu exploded. Then, he was gone. Pein's eyes widened just before Ryuu appeared over the long-haired Pein who had killed Itachi. His fist exploded down into the top of that Pein's head, sending him exploding into the ground, shattering the ground like glass. The other Peins all spun toward him and he spun, his heel connecting with the bald Pein's head before a dog's jaws snapped shot around him, all of the dogs once again merged. Ryuu roared in rage, forming his Susanoo's ribs to free the dog's teeth from his body before rapidly forming hand seals. He exhaled a massive flood of flames down the dog's throat, the force of the jutsu launching him free of its mouth before he flipped, ending the jutsu and landing on his feet in time for the main Pein's ability to slam into him. He exploded through several buildings before flipping, landing on his feet and exploding forward again. The female pain and fat Pein both moved to meet him, only for him to flicker, splitting in two and flashing toward them.
He tore through the pair with a Chidori before both rapidly closed in on the main Pein, who raised his hand, not looking impressed. Suddenly, rockets the size of two of Ryuu's fingers began to hit around him, exploding into massive fireballs the size of buildings. Ryuu shouted in pain and rage as the explosions blasted him over and over, the consecutive concussions sending him exploding through the village. Finally, he flipped to a stop as the last rocket's explosion ended, only for a beam of blue energy to explode into him, fired from the bald Pein's head, which had opened in four sections to reveal some kind of machine inside. Ryuu exploded backward through the village to the wall before standing, shaking with rage.
He roared, sounding more feral animal, or monster, than human. And it only got worse as his Susanoo formed and also roared, the sound deep and so loud it vibrated the ground. Ryuu exploded forward, his Susanoo exploding through anything in his way before drawing its tanto and slashing downward, the blade elongating and exploding into the ground, obliterating it, but missing the Peins. The bald Pein fired a second beam out of its head, but the blast failed to breach Ryuu's Susanoo. And instead, the smoke enveloped both Ryuu and the Pein, allowing Ryuu's second swing to go without notice until it split that Pein in half the long way.
Suddenly, a black rod smashed through Ryuu's Susanoo, stabbing through Ryuu's side. He shouted in pain, hardening his right hand and smashing the pole behind himself, shoving himself up off of it before spinning toward the main Pein, the only one of the five present still alive.
"You are more dangerous than I believed," Pein said. "The Seven-tails' dead is unfortunate, but we have enough of its chakra to move forward with our plan. We also have enough of the Three-tails' chakra. I'm going to kill you. You're too troublesome to be allowed to live."
Ryuu roared in rage, his hate hitting a boiling point just before his right eye throbbed agonizingly. Suddenly, the massive cloud of smoke and dust that had accumulated over the village from the battle spun rapidly before opening like an eye, revealing a gigantic replica of Ryuu's Mangekyo Sharingan. Agony speared through him instantly, and his roar of rage turned into a shriek of agony. he looked up at the eye and imagined it firing a massive beam of energy, or chakra, or something. And suddenly, it did. A massive, golden beam of energy exploded down from the eye into the ground, all but obliterated a dozen blocks of the village, the shockwave of the impact between beam and ground shattering even more buildings. Pein defended himself with his ability, and the moment his barrier faded, Ryuu crashed into his back. His pain was getting worse, and he could feel himself dying. So that, then, was the price of this power. He felt his body beginning to ache as he and Pein flew toward the beam rapidly. His hair began to thin, his body wrinkling slowly. He wasn't just dying, he realized. He was aging. And if he was going to die, he sure as hell wasn't dying alone.
"I'm taking you with me!" Ryuu roared over the deafening sound of the beam endlessly obliterating the ground, that seemed to never be more destroyed than it was right then, despite the massive chunks of stone that broke free of the ground and were sucked into the beam.
Pein shouted in effort, his ability slamming into Ryuu hard, shattering his bones, but Ryuu didn't even slow. Pein drove metal rods into Ryuu, impaling him over and over. Ryuu shoved harder, his wings beating hard. They were close. Fifty feet. Twenty. The beam's pull grabbed them, more than doubling their speed. Ten feet. Five feet. One foot. The beam winked out and Pein sailed through the air, Ryuu falling away, shriveled, frail, and lifeless. Pein watched him fall in silence. That had been close. He had almost defeated five out of six of the Peins alone. He probably could have if he hadn't tried to use that jutsu. Pein turned his gaze to the shattered, ruined remains of the village. it was time to teach them all what true pain was. He raised his hands, building his power as the last Pein gathered the remains of the others and fled the village to Konan. Then, he sent out a massive shockwave, levelling what little remained of the village.
