Summit
"Of the nine Jinchuriki spread among the Hidden Shinobi Villages, currently only five remain," Gaara said. "I myself was captured by the Akatsuki as well, however, I was saved by the actions of one of the other four Jinchuriki, all of which are present currently. Ryuu, would you step forward please?"
Ryuu dropped off the raised walkway, stepping past the banners and stepping up to Gaara's right, remaining behind him.
"For any who have not met him, this is Ryuu Uchiha," Gaara said. "He saved my life from the Akatsuki, and it is thanks to him that I yet retain my Tailed Beast. Later, he made himself the Three-tails' Jinchuriki in order to safeguard the Tailed Beast from the Akatsuki. I believe that the safety of the remaining Jinchuriki should be the main priority until the threat of the Akatsuki has been dealt with."
"So then you are afraid, and you wish to be protected," Onoki, the current Tsuchikage, said.
"Not at all," Gaara said. "I was not including myself among that number."
"If I may, Lord Kages, and Lady Mizukage," Ryuu said.
"You may not!" Danzo snapped.
"Please speak freely," Mei said, the others nodding as well.
"It may not be enough to protect the Jinchuriki," Ryuu said. "Aside from Naruto and Utakata, the Akatsuki already managed to steal a massive amount of each of the others' Tailed Beast Chakra. I don't know for sure, but it may be enough for them to continue on with their plan regardless, barring Naruto and Utakata's Tailed Beasts."
"That is very grave news," Mei said. "However, I do not believe that the loss of the Tailed Beasts, or their chakra, is cause for immediate alarm. After all, it still takes significant skill, knowledge, and time to achieve control over them."
"A Jinchuriki needs to mature along with their Tailed Beast to adapt to it," Onoki agreed. "And even then, control remains difficult. It's not a simple task. Wouldn't you agree, Lord Kazekage?"
Gaara remained silent.
"Very few have achieved control over Tailed Beasts," Danzo said, closing his eye. "Madara Uchiha and First Hokage Senju Hashirama. And, of course, the Fourth Mizukage Yagura, as well as the Fourth Raikage's brother, Killer B."
A's hand curled into a fist.
"However..." Danzo trailed off as A's muscles clenched.
Just as he raised it, all of the bodyguards spring to their Kage's defense, Fu keeping Naruto and Utakata where they were.
"Enough of this nonsense!" A's fist shattered the table in front of him.
As the dust settled, the Raikage's bodyguards were standing in front of the Raikage protectively and the other bodyguards were all standing between them an their own Kage, prepared to fight on their behalf, though everyone stood motionless. Mifune sighed, ignoring the younger of Mei's two bodyguards, who had a massive two-hilted, fish-shaped sword wrapped in bandages, crouched on the table in front of him.
"This summit is a place of discourse," Mifune said. "So please refrain from any more behavior that lacks civility."
"Stand down, Fu, Torune," Danzo said.
Ryuu watched as his bodyguards turned toward him, the one with orange hair moving half a second earlier than the other, making him Fu.
"You too, Kankuro, Temari," Gaara said, both nodding and Kankuro pulling his puppet, which Ryuu recognized as Sasori's true body, back to himself.
"Ao, Chojuro, it's alright," Mei said kindly.
"Yes Ma'am," the older of the two said, Ryuu guessing he was Ao.
Onoki simply motioned his head for his bodyguards to go back to their spots and the larger one nodded. The larger one was a heavy set male with black hair under a red bandanna bearing his forehead protector, the standard Iwagakure uniform, but stood about double the height of anyone else in the room, even A. The other was a young petite girl with straight black hair cut above her shoulders, and a uniform with the left sleeve long and her right arm sleeveless.
A ripped his fist out of the table and sat down heavily, crossing his arms. Ryuu sighed as the tension eased from the air. The lights went out and a spotlight over each seat turned back on, leaving the bodyguards in shadow, as they had been before A moved.
"Now let's continue our discussion," Mifune said.
"If I may begin," Ryuu said. "You said that the Jinchuriki being taken wasn't a cause for concern because of the amount of time it takes to control the Tailed Beasts, however, I don't believe that's what they're doing. According to Naruto, Pein told him during their battle that he intended to use the Tailed Beasts' power to create a weapon of unimaginable strength, which would terrify the entire world into peace. However, According to Naruto, he didn't sound like he intended to use Jinchuriki at all."
"And now he is dead!" Danzo snapped. "Therefor your information is no longer of any use here! You are dismissed!"
"On the contrary, my information is even more vital now," Ryuu said.
"I disagree," A spoke up. "The Hidden Leaf, the Stone, the Sand, the Mist. The Akatsuki's membership is composed of rogue shinobi from your villages. That's not all, either. From our investigations, we know that among you, and the earlier Kage, there are those who have even used the Akatsuki!"
"The Kage used them!?" Gaara asked in surprise.
"And that's why I don't trust any of you!" A said. "Least of all the Hidden Leaf. Our intelligence suggests that the Hidden Leaf has routinely accepted known associates of its enemies into its ranks, including a member of the Akatsuki, Itachi Uchiha."
"That problem will be dealt with very soon," Danzo said.
"No, it won't," Ryuu said flatly. "Itachi Uchiha was never loyal to the Akatsuki, he was a deep-cover spy planted by the Third Hokage. He provided half of the intelligence that I have on the Akatsuki, which is why you should listen to what I have to say, Lord Raikage."
"I have no intention of listening to anything you have to say!" A snapped. "The only reason I called you all to this summit, you most of all, Uchiha, is to ultimately question your loyalties!"
"What do you mean that the Kage used the Akatsuki?" Gaara asked.
"You are the Kazekage and yet you don't know anything?" A asked. "Just ask your village elders back home!" He pointed at Gaara. "You of the Sand have previously used the Akatsuki in battle!"
"Currently, all five Great Nations are equally stable," Onoki said. "They're moving from military expansion to disarmament. As strained relationships between the nations ease and the threat of war diminishes, Hidden Villages considered military powers by their nations merely become costly hinderances. And yet at the same time, completely eliminating such villages poses its own risks as well. What if war suddenly breaks out? Relying on ninja with no battle experience would be problematic. You'd lose the battle without question."
"The Kage would realize that one way to avoid that risk is to use mercenary soldiers," Gaara said, thinking the problem through in his head. "Namely, soldiers from the Akatsuki."
"It takes effort and money to cultivate accomplished ninja from within one's own hidden village," Onoki said. "The Akatsuki makes war its livelihood and is made up of experienced professionals. Furthermore, they can be hired quite cheaply. Best of all, their soldiers have always delivered superior results."
"Don't be pompous, Tsuchikage," A said. "The Sand once used the Akatsuki to try to destroy the Hidden Leaf. I'm talking about Orochimaru. Though he may have already left the Akatsuki by then. But as a result, your father, the Fourth Kazekage, and the Third Hokage Hiruzen, perished. It's also hard to dismiss the possibility that this was all part of an even larger plot." He turned to Danzo, though he said nothing. "But the most suspicious of all is the Hidden Mist. The Mist never engages in diplomacy! And it's rumored that the Akatsuki started there!"
"Since it's come to this, I'll be honest," Mei said, sounding upset and ashamed. "We suspect, that someone from behind the scenes was secretly manipulating Yagura, the man who was Mizukage before me. There's a possibility that that someone was the Akatsuki. And that is exactly why I didn't want to talk big."
"Each and every one of you," A snarled.
"If I may," Ryuu said. "I bear the Three-tailed Beast, who previously resided in Yagura. And also, I can tell you that the Akatsuki began in the Hidden Rain, as a resistance group against Hanzo, however, they were corrupted and turned into what you all know now by a very specific individual. As for them manipulating Yagura, I could have my Tailed beast shed some light on it, if you would like."
"You what!?" A demanded. "You'd summon the beast here!?"
"Not at all," Ryuu said. "Fu and I are both on pleasant terms with our Tailed Beasts. We can allow them to temporarily take control of our bodies without any negative side effects, so I could allow him to tell you all what he knows of Yagura's manipulation or lack thereof."
"Please do," Mei said.
"I would also like to hear what he has to say," Gaara said.
"Absolutely not!" Danzo said.
"I agree with the Hokage," Onoki said. "There are many risks associated with this."
"I want to hear the truth of the former Mizukage," A said. "Do it."
Ryuu nodded and closed his eyes. "Isobu, are you there?"
"I'm here," Isobu responded. "So, they want to know about Yagura, do they? Alright, sure. I'll be quick. And I won't kill those two bodyguards holding their blades up to your throat right now."
"Much obliged," Ryuu said, releasing control.
Isobu opened his left eye, revealing his own eye, rather than Ryuu's. A's bodyguards both stood with their blades to Ryuu's throat in front and behind, one with a kunai and the other a massive, blocky sword, but Isobu remained motionless.
"Yagura was a violent, prejudiced man even before he was manipulated, but he was manipulated," Isobu said. "The leader of the Akatsuki took control of his mind, suppressed me, and then used his control to make Yagura's hate even worse."
"Pein did that?" A asked.
"Not Pein," Isobu said. "The leader."
"I thought Pein was the leader," A said.
"Maybe you should have listened to Ryuu's intel on the Akatsuki after all, then," Isobu said before releasing control, Ryuu blinking as his eye returned to its normal state and opened his right eye as well.
"Uchiha, who is the leader of the Akatsuki, if not Pein," A said.
"I believe I can answer that," Danzo said. "It's probable that the leader of the Akatsuki is Madara Uchiha."
"Are you sure of that?" Mei asked.
"But how could that even be possible?" Gaara asked. "Hasn't he been dead for several decades? Ryuu, is he correct?"
"How did you arrive at that suspicion, Danzo?" Ryuu asked. "I'm curious. Before I say the real name of the leader, I want to know how you decided it was Madara."
"Madara has been dead for a long, long time!" Onoki said.
"Well, I don't know all of the details, but the information is from quite a reliable source," Danzo said.
"Are you saying he's immortal!?" A demanded.
"Perhaps," Danzo said.
"What was your source, Danzo?" Ryuu asked, narrowing his eyes. "Who told you it was Madara? I know for a fact that Tsunade didn't tell you, because you were under suspicion of being a traitor to the Leaf after your repeated attempts at getting your hands on myself and Fu, so where did you get your information?"
Danzo remained silent for a long moment. "I do not have any reason to answer to you, Jinchuriki."
Gaara bristled, but Ryuu leaned forward, placing his hands on the table, which groaned softly under them, Ryuu resisting the urge to do as A had.
"I'll be quite clear, then," Ryuu said. "I believe that Danzo Shimura may be working with Orochimaru. The leader of the Akatsuki does go by the name of Madara, but it's a different Uchiha. He wears a spiraled, orange mask to hide his face, save for his right eye, and used the alias Tobi at first. He's got the ability to turn himself intangible, and it was he who told me that the Akatsuki had enough of the One, Three, and Seven-tailed Beasts' chakra to continue their plans. I've fought him several times, and I can assure you, he's incredibly dangerous. So, Danzo, who is your source?"
Danzo glared at him, but remained silent, turning back to the front. Finally, Mifune cleared his throat.
"Putting aside the Hokage's trustworthiness for a moment and returning to the matter of the Akatsuki, I'd like to say this as the leader of a neutral nation," Mifune said. "The leader of the Akatsuki has been able to read the times well. Despite stabilizing, the Great Nations harbor suspicions about each other, and the Akatsuki seized on that weakness to amass its power."
"Would you just get to the point!?" A growled.
"Now please just stay calm," Mifune said. "We can turn this misfortune into a blessing. It's very rare for all five Kage to convene in one location. What do you all say to this? Until the Akatsuki are disposed of, why not establish the world's first Allied Shinobi Forces of the Five Hidden Villages?"
"An Allied Ninja Force?" A asked.
"That's a splendid idea," Danzo said. "We're practically in a state of emergency. Cooperation will be crucial now."
Ryuu narrowed his eyes.
"According to the messengers I sent to tell you I called a summit, that's not what you were saying at the time," A growled.
"Moving forward with this plan, a standardized chain of command would also be ideal," Mifune said. "Further chaos must be avoided."
"Alright," Onoki said. "And whom do you propose handing the reins of these Allied forces to, then?"
"If the choice were left to you, you'd all just argue," Mifune said. "Therefor, as you have deemed me to be a neutral party worthy of presiding over you, I would like to make this suggestion. I will decide who among you Five Kage is the most suitable to lead."
A smile tugged at Danzo's lips and Ryuu narrowed his eyes, his left index finger twitching to signal to Fu to be ready.
"The Leaf has the most Jinchuriki, those containing the Three, Six, Seven, and Nine-tails," Mifune said. "I feel that how they are guided will be the key. I say, why not allow the Hokage to lead the Allied Shinobi army?"
Ryuu appeared directly in front of Danzo instantly, tanto in-hand, but when Danzo's bodyguards made no move to defend him, all of the bodyguards stopped partway over the low wall, looking over at them to see Fu and Utakata holding a kunai to each of their throats, one of their arms held behind their backs painfully.
"That's enough, Danzo," Ryuu said, Danzo's visible eye glaring into Ryuu's Sharingan. "You're finished manipulating this Summit."
"What the hell do you mean, manipulating the Summit!?" A demanded
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Danzo said.
"Remove the bandages over your right eye!" Ryuu ordered, pointing at them.
"Why would I do that?" Danzo asked. "It is nothing but an old scar."
"Lord Hokage!" Ao said, appearing beside Mei. "Please show us your right eye!"
Danzo stared at the black eyepatch covering Ao's own right eye, one which was currently surrounded by budging veins, betraying his Byakugan's presence. However, he made no move to remove his bandages. He did, however, turn to look back at his two captive bodyguards.
"Last warning, Danzo," Ryuu said. "Either you show them your eye, or I will."
"You should be wary, Ryuu," Danzo warned. "Your actions here could quite easily be called treason."
"What is the meaning of this!?" Onoki demanded "What is so special about his eye?"
"It belonged to my older brother, Shisui Uchiha," Ryuu said, lowering his finger and flickering once just as his hand closed into a loose fist. Then, he turned his hand over, holding up the newly reclaimed eyeball with his thumb, index, and middle fingers. "This eye possesses the power of the Kotoamatsukami."
Danzo stared at it just as his bandages began to turn red quickly. Finally, his nerves caught up with the agony of having an eye plucked from his skull and he shrieked in agony, hands flying to his face as he staggered backward and fell to the ground, knocking his chair over. Ryuu's Sharingan flicked to Danzo's two bodyguards and both crumpled to the ground as he placed them both in a Genjutsu, allowing Fu and Utakata to return to Naruto.
"What is the Kotoamatsukami?" Gaara asked as Ryuu summoned the same crow that held Shisui's other eye and quickly used Medical Ninjutsu to implant it in under a second, everyone cringing before the crow disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
"Kotoamatsukami is the most dangerous Genjutsu to ever exist," Ryuu said. "It allows its wielder to have complete control over their target's mind, controlling their every thought, all without the victim even knowing it's happening. It also doesn't require the Sharingan using it to even be open, much less eye contact. Danzo's been using it to manipulate Mifune."
"That is correct," Ao said. "I was about to speak up as well, but Ryuu beat me to it. My right eye is also a precious spoil of war, from a battle against the Hyuga, so I'm not really one to cast blame for taking a Dojutsu from a foe you defeated."
"I'll cast the blame for it, then," Ryuu said as Danzo pushed himself up, right hand pressed tight to his eye and teeth clenched against the pain. "Danzo didn't get my brother's eye from defeating an enemy. He stole it from Shisui when Shisui meant to use the Kotoamatsukami to stop the Uchiha Clan from revolting against the Third Hokage. In doing so, he condemned my clan to death, condemned my brother to death, and forced Itachi Uchiha to massacre our clan in order to hide the attempted coup from the world."
The other four Kage stared at Ryuu in shock.
"But that's not where the surprises end," Ryuu said. "Ao, am I right in guessing there's something special about his right arm as well?"
"You are," Ao nodded. "It's chakra is similar to that of your own right arm and leg."
Ryuu stared at him, then turned back to Danzo, eyes narrowing dangerously. "Show us your arm, Danzo. Or else I'll cut it off and inspect it myself."
Just then, a bud-shaped spiral of green roots sprouted from the ground, only to instantly separate from the ground as Ryuu slashed at Zetsu. Zetsu flipped, landing on the wall and glared at Ryuu. He was different this time. He was missing the left half of his circle of roots, and Black Zetsu was missing.
"Zetsu!" Ryuu snarled, all of the Kage, particularly A and Gaara, instantly jumping up as all of the conscious bodyguards sprang to their Kage's defense, Naruto and Utakata both stepping in front of Fu.
"Well, hellooo there!" Zetsu greeted them all, smiling widely with his half a face, the other side of his body looking like white clay that was half-formed and missing its arm. "Long time no see, Ryuu, Fu.
"This is Zetsu?" A asked.
"That's right," Ryuu nodded. "One of the most dangerous Akatsuki members, and the wielder of the Wood Style Ninjutsu. I'll warn you all now, he can spread spores through the air that grow clones of him to sap his opponents strength, as well as a nerve toxin that slows reaction time, leaving the Sharingan as the only thing capable of even partially negating it. He needs to die right now!"
He appeared behind Zetsu, only for one of Zetsu's roots to block it, then another to crash into Ryuu, flinging him onto the wall over the door behind Mifune. However, before Zetsu could make another move, Ryuu appeared behind him again, Zetsu's upper body falling to the floor, his legs following a moment later.
"Wow!" Zetsu said weakly. "You've grown...even faster!"
His head fell to the side and Ryuu drove a Vacuum Blade down through it, ensuring he was dead before looking around at the others.
"Ao, scan us all for his chakra," Ryuu said. "Lords and Lady Kages, be ready. This was only a clone of Zetsu. He's pulled this trick every time we fight. He's not finished yet. Not by a long shot."
"C, find him!" A snapped, one of his two body guards, a blond, forming the Ram Hand Seal and beginning to sense for chakra. "Darui, be ready for a fight!"
The other bodyguard, a dark-skinned man with messy white hair, the Kanji for "Lightning" on his left shoulder, the kanji for water on his right, and the massive, blocky sword, nodded.
"And you, Uchiha!" A said, turning to Ryuu. "Keep those eyes of yours on Danzo!"
"No need," Ryuu said. "He's pissed me off one time too many. If he moves, he dies."
Danzo narrowed his remaining eye, but righted his chair, sitting down. As he did, Mifune passed the order to have the Samurai prepare for battle against Zetsu to his two bodyguards, who used radios hidden in the scarfs wrapped around their necks to pass the message along. Ryuu formed the Seal of Confrontation and roots burst out of the floor directly in front of Danzo, weaving themselves into a seat, which Ryuu dropped into, resting his arms on the chair's armrests and crossing one ankle over the other leg, glaring at Danzo. Everyone who didn't know he had Wood Style Ninjutsu stared at him.
"So, Danzo, where'd you get that arm?" Ryuu asked.
"We're all infected," Ao reported. "Zetsu's spores are inside of us all."
"Lovely," Ryuu sighed. "If he activates them, I'll deal with it. I've gotten pretty good at dealing with him. In the mean time, Danzo, who gave you an arm made from Hashirama Cells?"
"Hashirama Cells?" A asked.
"As in the First Hokage!?" Onoki asked.
"That's right," Ryuu said, not taking his eyes off of Danzo as he raised his right hand. "My right arm and leg are both also made of Hashirama Cells. It's how I can use the Wood Style Ninjutsu."
"Ryuu, is there any connection between the Kotoamatsukami and the one used to manipulate the Fourth Mizukage?" Mei asked.
"No," Ryuu said. "The Kotoamatsukami can only be used once every ten years, and only Shisui has ever possessed it, at least, until I awakened my own Mangekyo Sharingan. However, I have yet to use mine, because I enjoy being able to use my Sharingan. The Fourth Mizukage was manipulated by the man calling himself Madara Uchiha directly, so given how strong that man is, it's conceivable that a normal Sharingan Genjutsu was used, or perhaps he used his Mangekyo Sharingan to strengthen it. However, if I had to guess, he likely reapplied the Genjutsu several times to keep it active."
"Lord Hokage, all Ninjutsu is forbidden here," Mifune said. "You have lost all trust and credibility here. A shame considering I may have still chosen you had you refrained."
"But 'may have chosen' wasn't good enough," Danzo said.
"Of course not," Ryuu said. "You need to control everything. Your lust for power is even greater than Orochimaru's lust for Jutsus. That's why you stole Shisui's eye in the first place. You couldn't risk someone else having a way to have more control than you."
"I am prepared to do whatever it takes to protect the Shinobi World," Danzo said. "It's imperative that our whole world unite as one. Just as Hashirama brought together his clan and founded the Hidden Leaf Village, now, we must merge all the Hidden Villages and create one Shinobi World. This shall never be accomplished through discussion and negotiation."
"How would you know?" Ryuu asked. "You've never negotiated with anyone. You have no idea if it works because in your entire life, you've never tried it once. I, on the other hand, happen to know that negotiation is exactly what we need. Also, as one of the five Jinchuriki currently present, I'd like to put forward my own suggestion for who should lead. The Raikage."
"Why me?" A asked suspiciously.
"Because," Ryuu said. "While you may be volatile and difficult to reason with, you're also a strong leader military-wise, as proven by the strength of your village even without Killer B and Yugito. You're also the only other Kage whose Jinchuriki are, as of yet, still alive."
"WHAT!?" A thundered, standing. "They're alive!? How do you know!?"
"For the same reason that I owe you an apology," Ryuu said. "When they were attacked by Zetsu, Yugito sent me a letter. She explained that they used a type of permanent clone to trick Zetsu and escape, then, they went into hiding together in order to be able to be in a relationship without you trying to interfere. Yugito sent me a letter to et me know they were still alive, as well as to ask me not to tell you yet. However, given the way things stand, they're vacation needs to end."
"You bastard!" A snarled.
"As I said, I apologize for keeping it from you," Ryuu said.
"So what do we do about Danzo, since he won't tell us who gave him his arm?" Gaara asked.
"He doesn't need to," Ryuu said. "There are only two people he could have gotten the arm from. The first, is Madara Uchiha. The second, is Orochimaru. I only asked because I wanted to know which might be stopping by. Given Zetsu's presence, I'd say we have a winner."
"I am no traitor," Danzo said. "I have acquired nothing from the Akatsuki."
"Orochimaru, then," Ryuu said. "In which case, you've been consorting with a known enemy and traitor from the Hidden Leaf Village, which is, of course, treason."
"I second Ryuu's suggestion for the leadership of the Alliance," Gaara said.
"We haven't even agreed on forming an Alliance," Onoki scoffed. "A world in which all people trust one another simply isn't possible."
"If we can't trust each other, and we refuse to try and understand each other, then we have no future," Gaara said. "Without mutual trust and understanding, all that will remain in this world is fear and terror. I simply can't tolerate giving up so easily, or any plan that doesn't incorporate morality."
"You pose such difficult concepts so simply," Onoki said. "But you're a green brat who knows nothing about running a village!"
Kankuro grit his teeth beside Gaara, raising a fist.
"But I'll tell you what," Onoki continued. "Now's your chance to ask anything you like! As your senior, I'll answer any question you have, eh Danzo?"
"Say again, old man!?" Kankuro snarled, slamming a hand down on the table as Onoki chuckled.
"Forgive me, but shouldn't we be worrying about the spores?" Chojuro spoke up from beside the Mizukage.
"I'm almost finished," Ryuu said. "I learned how to create spores of my own specifically designed to counteract Zetsu's and destroy them. My chair has been releasing them since I created it. Within the next few minutes, we'll all be cured of Zetsu's spores, and my own will filter harmlessly into your digestive systems and be destroyed."
"Impressive," Gaara said. "Who taught you that?"
"A traitor from the Akatsuki who provided me with half of my intelligence on them, as well as teaching me to wield my Wood Style Ninjutsu," Ryuu said. "Tobi. Time to finally say hello."
Tobi grew from the ground behind Ryuu and everyone shouted in surprise, preparing to attack.
"Hi!" Tobi greeted cheerfully. "I'm Tobi! I'm Ryuu's best friend, and I don't pee or poo!"
"Allow me to introduce you all to Tobi," Ryuu said. "He's made up of Hashirama Cells, like my prosthetics, and he was once a member of the Akatsuki, working alongside Madara to manipulate the other members, before defecting to join me after giving me my prosthetics and helping me save Fu from the Akatsuki."
"So, this thing is on our side?" Mei asked. "He looks like Zetsu."
"And its face is spiraled with a hole where the right eye should be, like the mask you say Madara Uchiha wears," Gaara said.
"So you are an Akatsuki spy after all," Danzo said.
"You don't get to accuse others of being a spy," Ryuu said. "Yes, Tobi is on our side. I believe Madara's mask is based off of Tobi's head. Tobi is made up of tentacles twisted together, allowing him to utilize them individually, be a complete body like this, or be worn as a suit to enhance someone's power, as I've done in the past. However, when I met him, he was not my ally. He agreed to help me save Fu, but then tried to manipulate me. Instead, I used my chakra to force him under a Genjutsu, which he then absorbed, and that Genjutsu then became his reality. Now, he is my ally and a trusted friend."
"Are you sure it's wise to say that you brainwashed him in front of him?" Mei asked.
"He already knows," Ryuu said. "I told hi about it a long time ago, and he decided he didn't care."
"That's right!" Tobi said, holding up a thumbs up.
"Alright," Gaara nodded. "I'll accept your word."
"As will I," Mei nodded.
"I want proof!" A said.
"As do I," Onoki said.
"There is no proof to give, besides my memories," Ryuu said. "If you would like, I could show you those with a Genjutsu using my Sharingan. However, even then, you'd have to take me at my word that those are, in fact, my memories."
Both Kage were silent for a moment before nodding. Ryuu showed both of them the memory of losing his arm and leg to Kakuzu and Hidan, waking up with his prosthetics, refusing to work with Madara, and then forcing his will onto Tobi before rescuing Fu. As the memories faded, A nodded.
"Very well," A said. "I'll accept that."
"I'm not convinced," Onoki said. "However, I've been outvoted."
"I will never trust that thing," Danzo said.
"You don't get a vote," Mei said.
"Lord Tsuchikage, I do have a question," Gaara said.
"Go ahead, ask away," Onoki said as Ryuu nodded to Tobi, who sank back into the ground. "No holds barred."
"When did all of you forsake yourselves?" Gaara asked.
Onoki and A both stared at him, Danzo continued his glaring Contest against Ryuu's Sharingan, and Mei smiled as she looked over at Gaara.
"Hey Gramps, he scored a point on you," Onoki's female bodyguard said.
"Shut it!" Onoki huffed.
Everyone looked around before Gaara spoke up again.
"So, are we all in agreement about the Shinobi Alliance, and the leadership going to Lord Raikage?" Gaara asked.
"Yes," Mei nodded.
"I suppose," Onoki said.
"No," Danzo said flatly.
"I accept," A said. "Once I have found my brother and Yugito."
Everyone nodded just as Ryuu turned his head to the side slightly, looking back at the door.
"He's here."
Leave a review.
