As the group made their way through the forest and back to the safety of camp, Mask was looking over a law document on public quirk usage and muttering mentally to Alana. While he wasn't vocalizing any of his thoughts the rest of the group would glance back at him occasionally.

Finally Bakugo fed up with the whole thing nudged Todoroki, even as he glared at Deku. "At least when he mutters it isn't out loud."

"Kacchan that's not nice, I'm sure he's just focusing on protecting us and all his attention is on his sensors." Midorya chimed in even as he stopped the quiet muttering he had been doing while trying to figure out what Mask's Quirk was.

Mask was actually scratching his head at the moment about a law that prevented those with mutation type quirks from taking part in school events. He was so caught up with the law that at first he didn't notice the other presence approaching him from behind. The reduction in power to his sensors probably led to what happened next as well.

Alarms blared, and warnings pinged inside of his head as the man stepped up behind him, one hand reaching out towards Mask's exposed back. Spinning on the ball of his foot Mask's right hand shot out, fingers wrapping around the man's wrist, before jerking it up and outwards. Mask wasn't surprised when the man's other hand shot out to try and touch him, catching that one as well.

Mask found himself holding the arms of a fairly tall man wearing a tan long coat, black top hat with a single feather extending from the side. Finally the man's face was completely covered by a white mask with black lines placed across it to sort of resemble a typical hero mask. Glancing over his shoulder Mask felt one nonexistent eyebrow trying to rise. The group hadn't even noticed the scuffle or even bothered to stop.

"Seriously that's taking unaware to a whole new level."

"You should be more aware of what's going on yourself!"

Mask turned to look back at the man in time to see him twisting his wrist in Mask's grip. The fingers of the man's right hand brushing against Mask's right wrist. The next instant Mask was gone and only the villain Mr Compress remained standing silently in the forest, clutching a small blue marble before tucking it into a pocket.

Space warped, twisted, and when it finally settled Mask found himself inside of a blue sphere. Through the semi transparent sphere walls he could see a massive forest of trees. Giant fingers closing around the sphere just before everything went very dark. Lifting his hand and activating the flashlight that formed allowed him to get a better look around at the confines of the sphere. A punch against one side yielded no results meaning it would likely be difficult to escape from wherever he happened to be trapped in.

"Alana?"

"We appear to have been compressed down to the size of a marble then warped into adjacent to the current dimension."

"Can we get out?"

"Yes I just need to calculate the proper frequency to escape."

"Well back to reading I guess."

So while Alana set about calculating the variables to escape the warped space, Mask returned to reading up on the local laws. Most of which left him shaking his head, part of it was an outsider's perspective on things, and part of it was his own experiences with similar kinds of laws in the past. But to him it was obvious that there was a few too many flaws in the laws then there should have been.

Someone had been working behind the scenes for some time now to set things up to drive people towards being unhappy with the system and when they didn't get the help they needed would turn to villainy. Whoever it was had been subtle, rarely ever using a single pawn more than once in order to accomplish their goals. It would be something to look into later of course when he had more time and the ability to access more confidential data.

Occasionally while Mask was reading he would get glimpses of what was going on outside the sphere. The weird perspective of everything being so big combined with the speed made it hard to tell what was going on. It did look like both the heroes and villains however were fighting over who had control of his marble. As things started to settle down he could see a black haired man with horrible burn scars on his face releasing a stream of blue flames to drive the kids back.

"Warp burst ready master. Remaining power levels will drop to 5% after activation. I'd suggest limiting combat as much as possible until we've had a longer time to recharge."

"I'll do what I can to limit myself to strictly physical options then without altering the body. Activate warp burst on my mark."

Shoto's arm shot out seconds away from grabbing Bakugo's marble when the villain Dabi snatched it up. Even as Shoto slid back on his ice he unleashed a small wave of ice towards Dabi. Blue flames met ice, causing an eruption of steam that when it cleared revealed Dabi standing their looking smug.

"Mr Compress release.."

That was as far as Dabi got before Mr. Compress howled in pain and dropped the third marble. The one that contained the mysterious interloper, an expanding orb of electricity surrounding it to a distance of 6 feet. The marble shuddered once, cracked, and then shattered as Mask reappeared standing right where the marble had fallen. Perfectly positioned between Kurogiri, Dabi, and Mr Compress, green cloak fluttering as the displaced air rushed in to fill the gap.

Rushing forward Mask grabbed onto Dabi's wrists even as the villain was starting to bring his hands up to attack, eyes wide with surprise. Blue flames flickered around Dabi's left hand, blasting out at Mask even as he jerked Dabi's wrist up and out. The stream of flames went wide, shooting harmlessly up into the air as Mask tightened his grip both wrists.

Something cracked as Dabi grunted in pain, the blue marble falling from his suddenly limp fingers. Shoto, who had been looking for an opening, rode a wave of ice back towards Dabi, snatching the marble of the ground before dodging back from the stream of fire Dabi sent his way. Mr Compress darted forwards towards where Mask and Dabi were grappling, hand reaching out to try and trap the hero once more.

Aware of the incoming threat, Mask twisted around and dragged Dabi between himself and Mr Compress, forcing the other villain to serve to the side in order to try and reach him. It bought Mask only a couple of seconds but that was all the time he needed. The dark gaseous portal that the other villain had created, and Dabi had been about to step back into when Mask reappeared, still stood open less than a foot away. Still dragging a struggling Dabi with him Mask stepped into the portal.

There is the strange sensation of movement without movement, one of which Mask associated with warping across long distances rather then between dimensions, before he found himself in a quaint little bar right out of the 1920's prohibition. Even down to the way the smoky headed bartender with yellow eyes was dressed. Dabi took that moment to kick Mask in the shin only to yelp as it hit unyielding metal.

The yellow eyed bartender isn't the only currently occupying the narrow space of the bar. In fact the room appears to be rather crowded. A man was sitting at the bar with blueish black hair holding a beer bottle with his pinkie extended. Further the man was wearing what seem to have be severed hand that clutched his face. As the man leaps to his feet, fingers close around the bottle and the whole thing turns grey and falls apart.

A girl with blonde hair pulled into a pair of messy buns and wearing a school girl outfit was pulling out a knife even as her eyes narrowed at Mask, next to her is a green skinned lizard man who was trying to repair what looked like a bundle of belted together swords. A woman dressed in a dark orange shirt and white framed sunglasses that covered her eyes she also appeared to be lifting a large bar of metal wrapped with cloth. Finally a man dressed in a mostly black costume with white lines running from his shoulders, down his chest, and onto each thigh. The top half of his mask and his boots were the same color of white. Wrapped around each of the man's wrists were a pair of red bracers.

"Kurogiri who the hell is this?" The blueish black haired man shouts even as he turns to face the bartender.

"It would seem that an uninvited guest slipped in with Dabi, Shigaraki-San. I would suggest that you surrender as you are vastly outnumbered."While first half of the words were clearly addressed to the leader of the group the second half were just as clearly addressed towards Mask.

Outnumbered and low on energy it was a decent suggestion. Releasing Dabi's wrists Mask took a step backwards and raised his hands into the air.

"I know when I'm in a fight I can't win." He replied, almost casually. He didn't resist as the villains slapped some kind of high tech cuffs around his wrists or when they tied him to a chair against the wall while facing the bar. It was while they were in the process of tying him up that Mr Compress appeared, stepping out of the same kind of portal as Mask had used to get here.

"Sorry boss I wasn't able to recover Bakugo from the heroes." The boss, who was no clearly Shigaraki, waved a hand in dismissal while he continued to stare at Mask.

"It's fine I get the feeling that we lucked out and pulled the secret super rare character for the mission instead. "

Most of the villains scattered to go off to do their own thing. Dabi shooting Mask an angry scowl before he moved out of sight. While all of this had been going on Mask hadn't been idle, a tiny line of liquid metal nanites had eaten their way through part of the chair and into the wall. Once there they had tapped into the buildings electrical system giving him an better idea of where he was located for the moment. Otherwise he remained silent, the capacitor inside of his body filling up with energy once more.

Eventually only two people remained in the bar proper, Shigaraki and Kurogiri, neither of whom seemed to be paying attention to him at the moment. Not that Mask really felt like testing that theory instead he continued to read through the history that he had downloaded. Eventually he ran out of history and so turned his attention to studying the villains.

Shigaraki stayed up well into the early morning playing video games on a very old style TV, scratching at his neck whenever he ended up getting frustrated. Occasionally when he gripped a controller too hard it would turn grey before it began to crumble. A quirk that required all five fingers to touch something before activating, mentally Mask filed that information away for later.

Kurogiri proved to be far more of a mystery to study, the man lacked many of the traits common to living people. In fact now that Mask was looking closer Kurogiri almost seemed more like a robot made of flesh than anything else. Especially after Shigaraki went up to bed, Kurogiri just stopped and stood there. Hours passed without the man moving a single muscle, as if he was just waiting for instructions. Interesting.

U.A.

Seated around the single circular table in the room were the heroes and teachers of U.A. each one looking through the report of the League of Villains attack upon the combined first year classes. Principal Nezu carefully set the report down as he turned his gaze to the other teachers.

"We appear to have gotten lucky this time, the league of Villains goal was the capture of young Bakugo. Further they had another goal which seems to have involved the capture of Miss Ragdoll. Both goals that were foiled by an unexpected third party calling themselves Iron Mask."

"So far we've turned up no one going by that name in any form within Japan. At the moment we are waiting for responses from other nations." Snipe said as he leaned forward to look at Aizawa and Vlad King.

"Neither myself or Vlad got a look at the man so we only have the students reports on what he looked like and was capable of. Yaoyorozu Momo said that the man claimed to have sliced a Nomu into several pieces but she didn't see any bladed weapons on his person. She further added that the man was able to fly by generating an electrical field around his hands and feet.

Electrical energy that he could also use as a weapon to incapacitate the villain Moonfish as confirmed by Katsuki Bakugo and Shoto Todoroki. The suit of armor that the man was wearing also made him strong enough to withstand a blow from a rampaging Dark Shadow without budging. Additionally he was able to produce a powerful beam of light from his hand which was used to weaken Dark Shadow.

Finally he was able to break out of the villain Mr Compress's quirk somehow, which involved the creation of a sphere of electricity. When we searched the forest later a larger patch of burnt ground was found likely caused by a similar affect."

As Aizawa read through the report on the stranger his eyes wandered across the room taking in the thoughtful expressions on each person's face.

"There was one bit of news missing from that report that I only discovered just before this meeting." Nezu added, all heads turning towards him.

"Someone remotely hacked into the nearby cell tower located in that area and began to download a large amount of historical information."

"So not only do we have a possible spy at U.A. that leaked the information on where the summer training camp was. But we also have a mysterious stranger mixed up in things from who knows where, in what is likely a suit of advanced power armor with some kind of need for history."

This time it was Vlad King who spoke. He was about to continue when someone's cellphone rang and all heads turned to where All Might was sitting.

"Sorry, excuse me for a moment while I answer this." Pulling the phone out of his pocket he swiftly stepped outside. Once the door had closed Nezu started to speak.

"I would quite like the chance to get to speak to this mystery man myself." Around the table numerous heads nodded in agreement, if the mystery man was a hero then he didn't deserve to remain in the hands of the villains. Discussion then turned towards who might be the spy within U.A. when All Might reentered the room.

"Naomasa believes that the police have found the lair of the league of villains. They have a raid planned for tonight that I will be taking part in. Hopefully our new possible ally can hold on until then."

League of Villains Hideout

Since the bar lacked windows Mask was left to tell time by his bodies internal clock. Thus he was aware that it was early in the afternoon when the villains finally started to wake up and move once more. The group of them wasting little time before they gathered in front of the TV. They were just in time as a press conference started of U.A. apologizing as to once again letting the kids at their school getting hurt once again.

"Pretty weird if you ask me, why're they criticizing huh?! Their only crime was doing too little, too late! It's their job to protect people, but anyone can screw up now and then, right?! Why're people expecting them to be perfect?! Heroes today sure have it rough, I'd say. Am I right?"

Mask turned his attention to Shigaraki as the man started to rant and spun to face him. Their was a manic light in the man's eyes and a passion that had been absent in him until now. Spinner, the green scaled lizardman, spoke up at this point.

"The minute that protecting people started coming with a paycheck..heroes stopped being heroes. This is what Stain taught us!"

Turning his head Mask stared at Spinner for several long moments until the man shifted nervously and Shigaraki started to speak again. It was growing exceedingly obvious what this was supposed to be, a recruitment speech. Still far be it for him to shoot down their dreams, not yet at least.

"Save someone and you get money. You get fame. Sounds weird to me. And in this society where the precious rules are everything... the people aren't cheering for the losers, telling them to fight another day. They're blaming them.

Our war is based on a few simple questions. What is a Hero? What is Justice? Is this what society's really supposed to be like? Once we get people thinking about this stuff, that's when we've won.

That's not all of course. Everyone here has a different story to tell, but we've all suffered thanks to other people. Thanks to rules. Thanks to heroes, we've felt suffering. So why don't you join us and help change the world?"

Mask remained still for several long moments until a strange whining started to come from him. The villains that had been surrounding him looking between themselves confusedly until they realized that the sound was laughter. Mask was laughing at them.

"No, I've done that song and dance before. I even got the t shirt. I've seen what happens when people like you end up winning and it's not pretty." Mask stood up the ropes falling away from him, a screech of metal tearing as he snapped the cuffs that held his arms behind his back.

"How?! Those were Quirk suppressing cuffs you shouldn't have been able to use your abilities!" Shigaraki shouted as the rest of the villains in the room readied themselves for combat. Mask was just about to respond when there was a knock on the door.

"Hello. Kamino Pizza Delivery." Then a muscular blonde haired man smashed through the wall.
