Dumbledore visited Grindlewald at least once a month. During the summer he would visit more, but, he didn't want to be suspicious. Also he was busy during the school year. Recently, he'd been made Headmaster, which came with it's own duties. Although he was worried that the power would go to his head, he knew the staff would keep him in check.

"I'm worried about Tom." Dumbledore said to Grindlewald during one such visit, "He hasn't been seen in years. And if what you say is true, then he's building up his forces as we speak."

Grindlewald slowly nodded. "He should return soon. Afterall, doesn't the Defense Against the Dark Arts need a professor?"

"Yes." Dumbledore knew Tom wanted the position, but when he first applied, Dippet had deemed the boy too young. Now he was coming back. Thank goodness he was in charge now. "I won't hire him."

"I know you won't." Grindlewald replied with a smile. "But be warned, The Dark Lord won't take the rejection kindly."

"As I feared." Dumbledore sadly replied, "What have you seen?"

"The position will be cursed until his second defeat." Grindlewald answered, "No one shall have the position for more than a year."

"At all? Or will someone have it for two years, but with a gap in-between them?"

Grindlewald thought hard, "Don't know. But it be best to air on the side of caution."

Dumbledore nodded thoughtfully. "Perhaps I could take over from time to time. Afterall, I did teach the class for a few years."

"A Headmaster teaching?"

"Well the Deputies sometimes do. And besides, it'll only be for a year at most."

"At a time, perhaps." Grindlewald said with a smile.

Both men bursted into laughter. It seemed like old times. But without the emotional and romantic manipulation to try and take over the world.
